Abstract

The article focuses on the study undertaken by the Spanish Petroleum Co. (CEPSA) on the evaluation of a catalyst in fluid catalytic cracking (FCC). The study is aimed to increase isobutylene and propylene yields through FCC cracking and to maintain similar light cracked naphtha at a higher propylene yield. The results of the study show that the catalyst delivered improved bottoms cracking performance.

It is said that project design, support refinery planning, etc, were developed by applying typically rigorous non-linear reactor kinetic models. Multivariate statistical models based on operating data offers a suitable alternative to support process optimization.
