The Slovak Republic is characterized by regional disparities, which are also reflected in the labor market. The aim of our paper is to examine the development of the Slovak labor market and evaluate the level of regional labor markets on the basis of selected indicators in the years 2001-2019. We examine the situation on the labor market in the regions of the Slovak Republic on the basis of the development of economic activity, employment, unemployment, average wage and the proportion of employed with tertiary education. To evaluate regional disparities in our article, we use two methods: the scoring method and the method of a uniform normalized variable. With both methods used, the Bratislava region was best placed in 2001 and in 2019. The worst evaluation in 2001 was achieved by the Nitra region and in 2019 by the Prešov region. Labour market developments have been on a positive trend in recent years. Employment and unemployment were not projected to change significantly. The advent of the COVID-19 pandemic halted this trend. The labour market, the economies of countries and their governments have been exposed to new challenges. In our paper, we focus on the evolution of employment and unemployment in the first to third waves of the pandemic in the Slovak Republic. We focus on a time series analysis of labour market developments by education, last occupation and sectors of industry. Being able to work and have a job is very important for everyone. This is especially important for people with disabilities. Some of these people are able to work at least part-time after removing certain obstacles. However, these people have great difficulty finding suitable employment in the labour market. This is related not only to their state of health, but also to their low level of education, frequent working capacity and various environmental barriers. The aim of the article is to evaluate the development of unemployment of people with disabilities in the Slovak Republic, its regions and districts. We use methods of time series analysis, synthesis and comparison. Our research has shown that the number of unemployed people with disabilities is fluctuating, with a decline in recent years. The paper examines the influence of work methods (adaptive selling, customer orientation, active listening) used by Lithuanian dependent life insurance intermediaries and their personality traits (self-efficacy, emotional intelligence) on customers’ decision to purchase life insurance. The purpose of this research is to evaluate how these factors determine the performance of life insurance intermediaries, which in this study is measured by the average number of life insurance contracts concluded by intermediaries per month, the average premium of the signed contracts and the average amount of commissions received for life insurance intermediation. For national economy to thrive, sustainable regional development is vital. Many theories in scientific publications are focused on assessing the growth of particular regions and their mutual comparisons. Many authors are dealing with the issues such as economic growth and development of regions. Regional development is conditioned by the level of appreciation of available resources and the usage of regional and economic policy tools. In the course of time, regions experienced economic developments leading to their current stage of social and economic development. The aim of this article is to determine performance trend of the Visegrad Four regions at NUTS 2 level. We have compared years 2000 and 2016. We have monitored indicators such as employment rate, unemployment rate, long-term unemployment rate, income, tertiary education rate and fertility rate. Inequalities in the wealth of the population are part of every society's life. The unequal distribution of household incomes is considered to be one of the main causes of socio - economic disparities, not only from a social but also a territorial point of view. Household income disparities and their impact on economic growth are therefore a highly debated topic. We live in a modern society, whose living standards are constantly growing, however today we also meet groups of people who are still at risk of poverty, despite growing living standards. The main objective of the contribution is to analyze and evaluate the living conditions of the population in the regions NUTS 2 in the Czech and Slovak Republics in the interest of the design of measures to effectively reduce social inclusion poverty, or inclusion of marginalized population groups into society. Inclusive markets refer to a specific form of a social economy aimed at improving the capability of the long-term unemployed to get employed in the open labour market. The purpose of the paper is to identify trends shaping the V4 labour markets in terms of the inclusive market. In the paper, the Visegrad Group regional labour markets at NUTS II level are analysed and compared, using the indicators of employment rate 15-64, unemployment rate 20-64, and longterm unemployment rate in the monitored period of 2000 to 2016. In order to compare and evaluate the indicators, scoring and ranking methods are utilised. On average, the best scores are achieved by the regions in the Czech Republic, however some regions in Hungary also achieved excelled scores in the first and the last years under examination. In the period under analysis, the best ranking was achieved by the region of Prague, followed by two other regions in the Czech Republic, one region in Hungary and the region of Bratislava. The point assessment of all V4 regions shows that the top five regions also include the region of Bratislava, yet two regions out of four are holding the last positions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The core of forming clusters resides in the creation of supplier and vendor network, information flow, technologies and innovations, which form comparative advantages in a given sector for the region with the aim to achieve the highest profit with the lowest costs. In this connection, it is necessary to pay attention to conditions, which form suitable environment for the clusters forming. The objective of this paper is to examine placement of the sector employment in the regions of the Slovak Republic with regard to identification of the possibilities of the cluster forming cooperation by means of the coefficient of localization and coefficient of variation. We realized analysis based upon data, which were available in the database of the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic for observed period 1995-2014 and database DATA cube. Following 1989, major changes occurred in political, social and economic spheres in the Slovak Republic. a new system of public administration reflecting the ongoing economic and political changes in society started to be built in 1990. There were also changes in the territorial and administrative organization of Slovakia. The former there-level system of national committees was abolished. The reform of public administration resulted in separate state administration and local self-government. Local self-government and regional self-government were established. The organization of state administration was changed, too. Regional and district national committees were abolished and state administration powers were transferred to newly established district and sub-district offices, later to regional offices. Finally, district offices were restored and regional offices were abolished. Recently, much attention has been paid to having efficient and up-to-date system of public administration and to providing adequate services to citizens and private sector by local state governments.
