In Indonesia, the Adiwiyata schools' development program has implemented environmental education. These schools have a responsibility to preserve the environment, especially around school grounds. One of the elements of the Adiwiyata schools' conservation program is the conservation of the Brantas watershed area which is currently experiencing degradation due to human activities. This study aimed to explain how environmental education in schools contributes to students' knowledge, and to examine the efforts made by the Adiwiyata schools in the conservation of the Brantas watershed area. This research used quantitative and qualitative research methods. The quantitative method was carried out through a survey of 254 students at Adiwiyata schools through an online questionnaire. Qualitative data were collected through observations of school programs and policies as well as semi-structured interviews with teachers, students, and principals. The results of this study indicated that environmental education in Adiwiyata schools contributes to strengthening students' cognitive and affective competencies towards the conservation of the Brantas watershed but not yet in the psychomotor domain. The Brantas watershed conservation efforts carried out by the Adiwiyata schools consist of monitoring river water quality, restoring riverbanks, and cleaning the river from pollutant waste. The realization of these efforts is the result of collaboration between the school and external parties, namely the Environment Agency, Jasa Tirta, the Tunas Hijau NGO, and the JKPKA Organization. Summary: We investigated macromolecular antioxidants to improve the stabilities of polymer electrolyte membranes during fuel cell operation. Fenton's oxidative test was conducted to screen the scavenging activities of five different antioxidants, and Fourier transforms infrared spectroscopy and fluoride emission, conductivity, and tensile strength analyses were employed to monitor their effects on membrane degradation. The proton conductivities and water absorption of the composite membranes were comparable to those of the pristine membrane, which may overcome issues with metal antioxidants. Moreover, open‐circuit voltage (OCV) studies confirmed their positive effects during fuel operation. The OCV study showed that the membrane containing macromolecular antioxidants maintained a higher OCV than the pristine Nafion membrane, as verified by in situ analysis. Therefore, macromolecular antioxidants are useful for increasing the chemical durabilities of fuel cell membranes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This research aims to identification actors who compete towards access and how they get, control and maintain the access on tourism governance in Wakatobi National Park. The data collection is conducted through semi-structure interviewed some stakeholders and local communities who involved directly in tourism governance. Moreover, researchers also conducted participant observation in tourism activities. This research showed that there were numerous actors who scrambling to gain, maintain and control access in tourism governance with different mechanisms which have been mediated by authority, capital, markets, technology, social identity and social relations. The Wakatobi National Park Official (BTNW) and Wakatobi Municipality were actors who dominated the access of tourism governance because both of actors have a set of rules which could control the tourism activities. Tourism is one of the sectors encouraged by the Indonesian government to increase economic growth. one of the efforts made is to establish Labuan Bajo as a national tourism strategic area. This study aims to explain the dynamics of access contested by some actors in tourism governance in Labuan Bajo. A qualitative approach was employed in this study. Data were gathered through interviews, focus group discussion, and document analysis. The results of this study indicate that tourism access is dominated by actors who have the power of capital and they control access to economic circles of the tourism management. Disaster is a threat to the tourism sector. The losses incurred both material and non-material are one of the tangible forms of interaction between the tourism sector and the disaster phenomenon. This study aims to provide an overview of the preparedness of the community in the area of tourism in responding the phenomenon of disaster and its implications for the tourism sector. This study used a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The results showed that the community lacked preparedness in facing disasters. Indicators of assessment of preparedness including preparedness for knowledge and attitudes, policies, emergency response plans, disaster warning systems, and resource mobilization. The lack of community preparedness for disaster risk has implications for disaster mitigation management that is not working correctly according to tourism management standards. This study aims to explain the management of tourism in the Komodo National Park (KNP). Besides, this study portrays the impact of tourism management on the socio-economic life of people living nearby the KNP. This study employed qualitative research methods. The data were obtained from interviews with community leaders, naturalist guides, village heads, tourism managers, fishers, and tourism management communities in the region. Two villages in the KNP were chosen as the data collection sites. The results of this study indicate that the management of tourism in the Komodo National Park area is dominated by the KNP Officer, while the local people exclusively positioned as natularist guide. Besides, this study shows that the existence of tourism in the national park only impacts on people living in the Komodo island region which exclude people living in the island of Rinca from welfare and prosperity.
