The number of people suffering from atopic dermatitis is increasing every year. This disease has a complex etiology, and one of the factors intensifying its symptoms is food hypersensitivity. There are many studies indicating the contribution of food allergies to exacerbations of atopic dermatitis. However, the more accurate role of food allergy in this process leaves much to be explained. It is interesting that there are scientific reports showing a significant improvement in the skin condition of patients with AD after eliminating allergenic foods from their diet. The aim of the work is to collect and systematize knowledge on the common occurrence of AD and food allergy, and the impact of food allergy on the course of AD, based on current domestic and foreign literature.
