6. The association between pragmatic language impairment, social cognition and emotion regulation skills in adolescents with ADHD.

Abstract

Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is associated with significant pragmatic language impairment and theory of mind deficits, but there are only a handful of studies have investigated the relationship between them in these conditions. This study aimed that investigate two different aspects of Theory of Mind (ToM) (ToM decoding and reasoning), pragmatic language impairment, and emotion regulation in patients with ADHD. Seventy adolescents with ADHD were compared to matched 64 healthy controls. We administered Social Responsiveness Scale-2 (SRS-2), Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale (DERS), Kiddie-SADS, Conners Parent Rating Scale, Children's Communication Checklist-2 (CCC-2), Faux Pas, Comprehension Test, and Reading Mind in the Eyes Test (RMET) to all study participants. The CCC-2 scores were found to be statistically significantly higher in the ADHD group than in healthy controls. ADHD group had lower performance in the Faces Test and RMET compared to healthy controls, which did not survive from false discovery rate correction. We also found that CCC-2 performance and Conners scores were significant predictors of social responsiveness. Our results point to widespread impairment in pragmatic language use and communication from many perspectives. These results might be important to understand the difficulties in social functioning and interpersonal relationship in adolescents with ADHD. ADHD is associated with significant impairment in pragmatic language use and social cognitive functions. ToM-Decoding (RMET) is impaired much more than ToM-Reasoning (Faux Pas) in ADHD. Pragmatic language skills and severity of ADHD may be significant predictors of social responsiveness. Emotion regulation problems may affect communication and pragmatic language use. Abstract

Geçiş metal-katalizli karbon-karbon bağ oluşum tepkimeleri sentetik organik kimyada yaygın olarak kullanılan bir yöntemdir. Paladyum katalizörü, metanol ve karbon monoksit varlığında gerçekleştirilen alkoksikarbonilasyon tepkimeleri bu tepkimelerden bir tanesidir.ß,?-doymamış esterlerin oluşumu ile sonuçlanan allilik bileşiklerin paladyum katalizli alkoksikarbonilasyon tepkimeleri üzerinde çalışmalar yapılmıştır. Bunun yanı sıra ?-allenilpaladyum ara yapısı üzerinden ilerleyen ve allen ester yapılarının oluşumunu sağlayan paladyum katalizli alkoksikarbonilasyon tepkileri için propargil türevleri önde gelen başlangıç maddeleridir. Enantiomerik açıdan zengin propargil türevlerinin paladyum-katalizli karbonilasyon tepkimeleri ile merkezden eksene kiralitenin aktarımına olanak sağlayabilen yöntemler hala yetersiz seviyede bulunmakta ve çok önemlidir.Bu çalışmada, E-2-en-4-in karbonat yapılarının ?-allenpalladyum ara yapısı üzerinden ilerleyerek vinilallen ester yapılarını oluşturan paladyum katalizli alkoksikarbonilasyon tepkimeleri gerçekleştirilmiştir. Ayrıca enantiomerik açıdan zenginleştirilmiş E-enin karbonat yapıları kullanılarak önerilen yöntemin kiralite transfer özellikleri de araştırılmıştır. Transition metal-catalyzed carbon-carbon bond formation reactions are well-rounded methods to synthetic organic chemistry. One type of these reactions is the alkoxycarbonylation reactions performed in the presence of a transition metal catalyst, an alcohol and carbon monoxide atmosphere.Investigations on palladium-catalyzed alkoxycarbonylation reaction of allylic compounds leading to ß,?-unsaturated esters have been performed. Moreover propargyl derivatives are prominent reactants for palladium-catalyzed alkoxycarbonylation reactions to yield allene esters which proceed through a ?-allenylpalladium intermediate. Palladium-catalyzed alkoxycarbonylation reaction of some enantio-enriched propargylic derivatives that facilitate unique centre-to-axis chirality transfer is still inadequate and essential.In this study, the palladium-catalyzed alkoxycarbonylation reaction of E-configured 2,4-enyne carbonates which afforded exclusively ester functionalized (E)-configured vinylallenes through the formation of ?-vinylallenylpalladium species was performed. Moreover the chirality transfer of the proposed method was also surveyed over an enantio-enriched E-enyne carbonate. 212

15. EFFECTS OF POMEGRANATE PEEL AND PROPOLIS POWDERS AND THEIR COMBINATIONS ON PHYSICO-CHEMICAL AND MICROBIOLOGICAL PROPERTIES OF TURKISH DRY-FERMENTED SAUSAGE (SUCUK) WITH VARIOUS NITRITE LEVELS.

Abstract

The study aimed to evaluate the effects of pomegranate peel (PP) and propolis (PR) powders (2%) and their combinations (1%PP and 1%PR) on physico-chemical and microbiological properties of sucuks produced with various nitrite (N) doses (0, 50, 100 and 150 ppm) during fermentation (10 d) and storage periods (4°C; 30 d). The results showed that the pH values of all sucuks decreased during fermentation whereas the pH increased during storage (P<0.05). Water activity (aw) decreased during both the fermentation and storage periods (P<0.05). The lowest aw was obtained in samples with PR (P<0.05), whereas nitrite doses did not have a significant effect on aw. Oxidation- Reduction Potential (ORP) increased during fermentation and storage (P<0.05). PP and PR powders and different nitrite concentrations had no effect on pH and ORP. The results indicated that L values increased with PP, and decreased with PR during fermentation and storage (P<0.05). Furthermore, a* increased and b* decreased during fermentation, whereas a* and b* values decreased during storage in all sucuk groups (P<0.05). The lowest a* was determined in samples with PR (P<0.05). There was a gradual increase in TBARS in all sucuks during fermentation and storage (P<0.05). The results showed that PP and PR powders were effective in reducing the TBARS levels (P<0.05). PP inhibited TBARS formation more effectively than PR in nitrite-free samples, whereas this difference between PP and PR was not determined in samples containing different nitrite levels (P<0.05). Total mesophilic aerobic bacteria counts increased during the fermentation and storage period whereas the yeast-mould counts generally decreased at the end of the fermentation (P<0.05). The olefin geometry of the substrate is important to control the overall stereochemistry of this alkoxycarbonylation method.
