Water qualities management for the water reservoir are becoming unprecedentedly more important due rapid growth of populations and high tech industries, furthermore, recent climate change also play an important role into this problem. Regular water inspection and sample collection could help significantly in management of water resources also the distribution of water. Even though the testing of water is mostly done by the senor station in water reservoir automatically, but only small number of the station are installed in the reservoir, hence the “resolution” is not enough for modern day uses. Apart from the resolution, the state of the art water management uses the results of water measurement (sample collected by inspector) for further decision making. Such method is accurate but lack of real time information which leads to slow in the response when pollution or after natural disaster. In order to solve these problem, many researcher has start to uses Internet of Thing (IoT) concept sensors, however, the cost is still high, as well as that many water reservoir did not have mobile phone signal coverage. Hence, this paper propose and development of Unmanned Surface Vehicle (USV) which carry a mobile water quality sensor to perform a real time scan of water qualities. Secondly, due to no mobile signal coverage, development will also include the communication relay via UAV.

The increasing age of infrastructure such as bridges or tall buildings requires a significant effort to be performed with respect to inspection such that damage being considered critical can be recognized early in advance and a respective infrastructure management can be performed. Many countries take the advantage of advance in Unmanned Aerial Vehicle technologies and applied for mostly aerial mapping and some infrastructure inspection to lower down the cost and increase the safety of inspection personnel. Most of the UAV system in the market produce just either photo or HD video, which does not contain any quantifiable reading for engineer to identify the damage level. Second, the image or video captured are not always perpendicular to the target surface, therefore distortion of the image could cause the inaccurate of the actual measurement on the photo/video. Third, current inspection method only done by few pictures or video, but do not contain “useful map” of the structure. This paper present a in house design autopilot system integrated with different sensors and optical camera together to perform a quantification of the image, also same time data fusion allow image correction to increase the accuracy of the measurement, and most importantly, the corrected images are used to form “facade map” of the building for engineers to inspect the building easily.

Cu 2 O and two types of Cu 2 O–Ag–Cu 2 O (CAC) multilayered thin films were deposited on glass substrates using DC-magnetron sputtering. For CAC films, the mass thickness of Ag layer was controlled at 3 nm. After deposition, some of these films were annealed using a rapid thermal annealing (RTA) system at 650 °C, in order to create embedded Ag particles. AC films were used to study the clustering effect of Ag in Ar atmosphere, as well as for forming the 2nd type of CAC film by covering another Cu 2 O layer on the annealed AC structure. A UV–VIS–NIR photometer, a Hall measurement system, and a I–V measurement system were used to characterize the optical and electrical properties of these films with and without RTA. The results show that 2-dimensional Ag layer can transform into many individual particles due to its high surface tension at annealing temperature, no matter when the annealing was carried out. For CAC films, without annealing, the optical transmission and the resistivity are decreased with the inserted Ag layer. After annealing, both the transmission and resistivity are increased, possibly due to the clustering effect of Ag layer. Most importantly, it is found that the embedded Ag particles can increase the light absorption in the NIR–IR region, which can increase photo-induced current.

The BELLE detector for experiments at KEKB, a high luminosity, energy asymmetric B-factory, is now being constructed at KEK. An overview of the detector systems and their status is presented.

We measured the radiation damage and its recovery of undoped BGO crystals. A radiation dose of up to 2 Mrad makes the scintillation light output decrease by 20%, but recovers to 100% with a time constant of 1 h. A radiation dose of 10 Mrad makes the scintillation light output decrease by 30%, and recover to 90% with a time constant of 10 h.

We present the results of a five-dimensional resonant amplitude analysis of the $\Lambda_c^+{\to}pK^{-}\pi^{+}$ system based on $946\pm 38$ reconstructed decays. These data were produced in 500 GeV/$c$ $\pi^-$-N interactions by Fermilab experiment E791. We report measurements of the amplitudes for $\Lambda_c^+$ decay into nonresonant $pK^-\pi^+$ and to $p\bar{K}^{*0}(890)$, $\Delta^{++}(1232)K^-$, and $\Lambda(1520)\pi^+$ and we comment on other possible resonant enhancements. This is the first complete amplitude analysis of the $\Lambda_c^{+}{\to}pK^{-}\pi^{+}$ system. We find that $(54.8\pm5.5\pm3.5)$% of the decays are nonresonant, $(19.5\pm2.6\pm1.8)$% of the decays are via the $\bar{K}^{*0}$ resonance, $(18.0\pm2.9\pm2.9)$% of the decays are via the $\Delta^{++}$ resonance, and $(7.7\pm1.8\pm1.1)$% of the decays are via the $\Lambda(1520)$ resonance. We find evidence for an increasingly negative polarization of the $\Lambda_c^+$ baryons as a function of $p_T^2$, in agreement with a recent model\cite{dha} and with a related measurement\cite{jez}.

We have measured the form factor ratios r_V = V(0)/A_1(0) and r_2 = A_2(0)/A_1(0) for the decay D_s^+ -> phi ell^+ nu_ell, phi -> K^+ K^-, using data from charm hadroproduction experiment E791 at Fermilab. Results are based on 144 signal and 22 background events in the electron channel and 127 signal and 34 background events in the muon channel. We combine the measurements from both lepton channels to obtain r_V = 2.27 +- 0.35 +- 0.22 and r_2 = 1.57 +- 0.25 +- 0.19.

We report the results of a precise measurement of the Ds meson lifetime based on 1662 +/- 56 fully reconstructed Ds -> phi pi decays, from the charm hadroproduction experiment E791 at Fermilab. Using an unbinned maximum likelihood fit, we measure the Ds lifetime to be 0.518 +/- 0.014 +/- 0.007 ps. The ratio of the measured Ds lifetime to the world average D0 lifetime is 1.25 +/- 0.04. This result differs from unity by six standard deviations, indicating significantly different lifetimes for the Ds and the D0., 12 pages, 3 figures, 2 table. LaTeX

We study the charge correlations between charm mesons produced in 500 GeV pi- - N interactions and the charged pions produced closest to them in phase space. With 110,000 fully reconstructed D mesons from experiment E791 at Fermilab, the correlations are studied as functions of the Dpi - D mass difference and of Feynman x. We observe significant correlations which appear to originate from a combination of sources including fragmentation dynamics, resonant decays, and charge of the beam., Comment: 12 pages and 2 figures

We report a measurement of the branching ratio B(D+-->rho^0 l nu)/ B(D+-->K*0 l nu) from the Fermilab charm hadroproduction experiment E791. Based on signals of 49+-17 events in the D+--> rho^0 e nu mode and 54+-18 events in the D+--> rho^0 mu nu mode, we measure B(D+-->rho^0 e nu)/B(D+-->K*0 e nu) = 0.045+-0.014+-0.009, and B(D+-->rho^0 mu nu)/B(D+-->K*0 mu nu) = 0.051+-0.015+-0.009. Combining the results from both the electronic and muonic modes, we obtain B(D+-->rho^0 l nu)/B(D+-->K*0 l nu) = 0.047+-0.013. This result is compared to theoretical predictions.

This research experimentally evaluates the improvement of phase noise in a fractional-N frequency synthesizer that uses the single-loop delta-sigma modulator (DSM) instead of the conventional multi-stage noise-shaping (MASH) DSM. The single-loop DSM can achieve a smaller range of quantization levels so as to be much less susceptible to the phase-locked loop (PLL) nonlinearity than the MASH DSM. The advantage is to effectively suppress the growth of quantization noise spectrum due to the PLL nonlinearity, resulting in low phase noise for the fractional-N frequency synthesizer. The experimental results show that a 4th order single-loop DSM design can improve the phase noise of fractional-N frequency synthesizer by 28 dB within the PLL bandwidth when used to replace the same order MASH DSM design.

This paper describes the design considerations of a 2.4 GHz CMOS voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) with two tuning inputs when used in a wideband GFSK-modulated frequency synthesizer based on a two-point delta-sigma modulation (TPDSM) architecture. One tuning input is provided mainly for the fractional-TV frequency synthesis, and the other one is for the direct GFSK modulation. In the VCO design, the tuning sensitivity for GFSK modulation is optimized including the effects of digital-to-analog converter (DAC). In addition, the size of spiral inductor in the LC tank is minimized without the cost of reducing quality (Q) factor. The implemented TPDSM-based GFSK-modulated frequency synthesizer can achieve a maximum data rate of up to 2.5 Mbps with an FSK error less than 1.4% and a phase-locked loop (PLL) settling time less than 110 /spl mu/s. The modulated frequency synthesizer with such good performances has promising application potential in a low-power solution for the enhanced data rate (EDR) Bluetooth transmitters.

We report the results of a search for flavor-changing neutral current, lepton-flavor violating, and lepton-number violating decays of D+, Ds, and D0 mesons (and their antiparticles) into modes containing muons and electrons. Using data from Fermilab charm hadroproduction experiment E791, we examine the pi,l,l and K,l,l decay modes of D+ and Ds and the l+l- decay modes of D0. No evidence for any of these decays is found. Therefore, we present branching-fraction upper limits at 90% confidence level for the 24 decay modes examined. We checked the performance of undoped BGO crystals under extremely high dose conditions (dosage up to 88 Mrad). The light outputs of the crystals drop by ∼30% after receiving 10 Mrad of γ-ray dose but remain stable throughout the rest of the test. The self-recovery behavior of BGO under 20 Mrad has also been studied. The reduced variation in light output from pre-radiated BGOs, together with a fixed recovery limit, indicate that a pre-radiation process may be helpful to stabilize the BGO performance in a low dose environment.

Long BGO (Bismuth Germanate) and BSO (Bismuth Silicate) crystals coupled with silicon photodiodes have been used to detect minimum-ionizing particles(MIP). With a low noise amplifier customized for this purpose, the crystals can detect MIPs with an excellent signal-to-noise ratio. The NCE(Nuclear Counter Effect} is also clearly observed and measured. We measured the radiation damage on silica aerogel \v Cerenkov radiators originally developed for the $B$-factory experiment at KEK. Refractive index of the aerogel samples ranged from 1.012 to 1.028. The samples were irradiated up to 9.8~MRad of equivalent dose. Measurements of transmittance and refractive index were carried out and these samples were found to be radiation hard. Deteriorations in transparency and changes of refractive index were observed to be less than 1.3\% and 0.001 at 90\% confidence level, respectively. We measured the radiation damage on an optical glue called Eccobond-24, which is a candidate for CsI and BGO crystal calorimeters of the BELLE detector of the KEK B-factory. Absorption spectrophotometry in the range 300–800 nm was used to monitor the radiation damage. The maximum equivalent dose was 1.64 Mrad. The glue shows effects of damage, but is acceptable for the radiation level in the above-mentioned experiment.

An advanced but efficient design technique has been developed for applying two-point delta-sigma modulation (TPDSM) to Bluetooth transmitters. Various design parameters, including phase noise, quantisation noise, phase-locked loop stable time and mismatch between two modulation points, can be overall taken into account to achieve the excellent performance. Experimental results have further verified the proposed design methodology.

We measured the radiation hardness of undoped BGO crystals from two different manufacturers. Such crystals are proposed to be used in a small-angle calorimeter of the BELLE detector of the KEK B-factory. Transparency and scintillation light output of the crystals were monitored to see the effect of radiation damage. The crystals show considerable radiation hardness up to 10.2 Mrad equivalent dose, which is much higher than the maximum expected dosage of 500 krad per year of running at BELLE.

We report results of a search for CP violation in the singly Cabibbo-suppressed decays D+ -> K- K+ pi+, phi pi+, K*(892)0 K+, and pi- pi+ pi+ based on data from the charm hadroproduction experiment E791 at Fermilab. We search for a difference in the D+ and D- decay rates for each of the final states. No evidence for a difference is seen. The decay rate asymmetry parameters A(CP), defined as the difference in the D+ and D- decay rates divided by the sum of the decay rates, are measured to be: A(CP)(K K pi) = -0.014 +/- 0.029, A(CP)(phi pi) = -0.028 +/- 0.036, A(CP)(K*(892) K) = -0.010 +/- 0.050, and A(CP)(pi pi pi) = -0.017 +/- 0.042., 13 pages, 5 figures, 1 table; Elsevier LaTeX
