General Materials Science - Abstract
Inorganic polymer materials (Geopolymers) are synthesized using alumino-silicate sources as solid components with an alkaline solution. This material is used as an alternative for building materials and provides thermal protection as foaming materials. This paper presents the preparation of these materials by the reaction between glass waste (from brown color bottles BP) with sodium hydroxide NaOH and sodium aluminum (AN5) solutions as alkali activators. For the preparation of mortars (BP-N5 and BP-AN5), sand was used as aggregate. The compressive strengths were assessed (24 and 6 MPa) respectively before heat treatment, the hydrolytic stability (PH and conductivity) tests were performed. Furthermore, hardened mortars have been heated at very high temperatures in the range of 200℃ to 800℃ within two hours. Based on the nature of the foaming behavior of such materials, various variables have changed; (80-140) % volume increase and porosity rise through the process of heat treatment, particularly at 600℃ and 800℃. On the other hand, (3.5-7) % mass reduction occurred. It can be said that the more significant porosity with different geometrical configurations (sizes and shapes) of such materials can be considered as acoustic insulation and thermal materials.

The effect of laser energy density on the optical, structural and electrical properties of lead iodide PbI2 film prepared by laser deposition technique was studied. X-ray diffraction XRD results revealed that the PbI2 films deposited at laser energy density smaller than 3.5 J/cm2 are polycrystalline in nature with preferred orientation along (001) plane, while the film deposited at 3.5 J/cm2 was amorphous. The thickness and deposition rate of the film was found to be increased with laser energy density. The optical energy gap of PbI2 film was in the range of (2.5–2.65) eV. SEM investigations showed that the deposited films are dense and have a homogeneous structure and the average grain size increases from 25 to 55 nm as laser energy density increases from 2 to 3.5 J/cm2. The film surface composed of aggregated grains and particulates. Energy dispersive x-ray illustrated the film deposited at 2 J/cm2 was stoichiometric and the films deposited at laser energy density >2 J/cm2 were off-stoichiometric. The electrical properties revealed that the deposited films were p-type and the electrical resistivity decreases from 9.2 × 104 to 1.49 × 104 Ω.cm when laser energy density increases from 2 to 3 J/cm2.The hole mobility of the film was found to increase with laser energy density. The dark and illuminated I–V characteristics of p-PbI2/n-Si heterojunctions were investigated as a function of laser energy density.

Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi) network is created on the IEEE 802.11 standard. Connections for local devices in homes and business arenas are provided by Wi-Fi units. With the growing demand as well as penetration of wireless services, the wireless networks users now assume Quality of Service (QoS) besides performances comparable to what is accessible from secure networks. In this paper, OPNET Modeler is used as module and for the simulation of a fiber optic-based Wi-Fi network within a fixed local area network. The aim of this paper is to evaluate their Quality of service (QoS) performances in terms of Wi-Fi voice-packet delay and End-to-End for both Wi-Fi base fiber and Wi-Fi base line. Many scenarios, with same Physical and MAC parameters, have many subnet networks are implementing with fiber optics baseline in addition to Wi-Fi baseline, were created in the network OPNET simulation tool for obtaining the results. The results of simulation reveal that base line demonstrated more delay than base fiber.

Indium arsenide (InAs) nanowire thin films were grown on glass substrates at 250 °C with different thicknesses (50–275 nm) using chemical spray pyrolysis technique. The structural and electrical properties of grown InAs film prepared at different spraying times were investigated. X-ray diffraction pattern confirmed the formation of polycrystalline InAs of hexagonal wurtzite structure with dominant peaks along the (200) plane for film deposited at 2 and 3 min. Hall effect measurements at 300K revealed that the electron mobility decreases as film thickness increases. InAs film with thickness of 55 nm exhibited a minimum electrical conductivity of 10−5 (Ω cm)−1. SEM investigation showed the formation of nanowires for film prepared at 3 min. The variation of the microstructural parameters such as crystallite size, FWMH, lattice constant, and d-value with film thickness was investigated. The experimental results revealed that the crystallite size increased with increase in the thicknesses of the film. EDX measurements and analysis were conducted and showed that the films deposited at 2 and 3 min give good stoichiometric InAs film. AFM data revealed that the average grain size of the film increased from 33 to 66 nm and root mean square of surface roughness of the film was increased from 4.3 to 6.3 nm as spraying time increased from 1 to 3 min.
