Abstract: Bu kitap 2011 yılında İstanbul Üniversitesi Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü’nce kabul edilmiş Doktora tezimden türetilmiştir. Tez çalışmamı kitap olarak yayınlatma kararı almamdaki en önemli neden, çeşitli bilim dallarında araştırmacılar tarafından yürütülen çalışmalarda, bağımlı değişkenin nitel (kategorik) olduğu durumlarla karşılaşılması ve bu tür problemlerin analizinde, bağımlı ve bağımsız değişkenler arasındaki ilişkinin klasik regresyon modeli ile kurulmasının mümkün olmaması ve bu noktada problemlerin modellenebilmesi için alternatif yöntemlere ihtiyaç duyulmasıdır. Bu kitap ile amaçlanan, araştırmacılara bağımlı değişkenin kategorik olduğu problemlerle karşılaştıklarında, değişkenler arasındaki ilişkileri kurabilmek için kullanılabilecekleri birçok uygun istatistik yöntem arasından, akademik çalışmalarda genellikle en çok tercih edilen ve bu tür modellerin analizinde kullanılması uygun olan İki Kategorili Lojistik Regresyon Analizi ile İki Kategorili Diskriminant Analizi hakkında, faydalanabilecekleri ve çalışmalarına ışık tutabileceğine inandığım bilgileri sunmaktır. Bu kitabın ilk bölümü, iki alt başlıktan oluşmaktadır. İlk alt başlıkta, Genelleştirilmiş Doğrusal Modellerden ve Doğrusal Olasılık Modeli ile Lojit ve Probit modellerden kısaca bahsedilmiştir. İkinci alt başlıkta, Lojistik Regresyon Analizi için modelin varsayımları, model kurma stratejileri, parametre tahmin yöntemi, anlamlılık ve uyum iyiliği testleri ile analiz sonuçunda elde edilen model parametrelerinin nasıl yorumlanması gerektiğiyle ilgili teorik bilgilere yer verilmiştir. İkinci bölümde, Diskriminant Analizi, analizin varsayımları, diskriminant fonksiyonun elde edilmesi, elde edilen fonksiyonun test edilmesi ve yorumlanması ile ilgili genel bilgiler paylaşılmıştır. 3. Denetim Komiteleri ve Kurumsal Yönetim Uygulamaları Arasındaki İlişki: Kavramsal Analiz ve Teorik Çerçeve

Abstract: Kurumsal yönetim kavramına yönelik uluslararası literatürde genel bir tanım bulunmamakla birlikte konuya ilişkin standartların belirlenmesi konusunda ciddi çalışmaları bulunan OECD tarafından yapılan tanım, genel kabul görmüş durumdadır. Bu tanıma göre kurumsal yönetim, işletmelerin sermayedar, üst düzey yöneticiler, yatırımcılar, finansal kaynak sağlayan kuruluşlar, ürün ve hizmet temin eden ve satın alanlar, kamu otoritesi ve diğer paydaşlarının hak ve yükümlülüklerini tespit eden ve paydaşlar arasındaki ilişkiyi düzenleyen yapılar bütünüdür. Kurumsal Yönetim ile ilgili ilk çalışma olan Cadbury Raporunda (1992), kurumsal yönetimin amaçları da açıklanmıştır. Söz konusu amaçlar, işletmeler için güvenli bir ortamın oluşturulması, işletme yönetiminin yasal kurallara uyması ve işletmenin amaçlarına uygun biçimde hareket etmesi, yönetim kurulunun hesap verilebilirlik ilkesine uyması, hissedarların yönetimdeki haklarının korunması şeklinde belirtilmiştir. Diğer yandan SPK, denetim komitesini; üst yönetim adına işletmenin muhasebe sisteminin, iç kontrol sisteminin işleyiş ve etkinliğinin gözetim faaliyetini üstlenen, bağımsız denetim firmasının seçiminden, bağımsız denetim raporunun hazırlanma sürecinin tamamında aktif rol alan bir yapı olarak tanımlanmaktadır. TÜSİAD ise denetim komitesini, kurumsal yönetim ilkeleri çerçevesinde işletmenin performansı ile ilgili yapılan her türlü iç ve bağımsız denetimin kaliteli, şeffaf şekilde yapılmasını amaçlayan ve muhasebe-finans, işletmenin yönetmelik ve prosedürlerini bilen, alanında deneyime sahip en az iki üyeden oluşan bir komite şeklinde tanımlamıştır. Kurumsal yönetimin başta risk yöneyimi olmak üzere iç denetim, bağımsız denetim, denetim komitesi, yönetim kurulu gibi pek çok yapıyla etkileşim halinde bulunmaktadır. Abstract: Engineering aims to engage science, technology, and mathematics yet, as a discipline, it has been practiced for thousands of years. Engineers work on everything from cell membranes to construction and prosthetics to improving engine and transport efficiencies and developing renewable energy resources. While engineering dates right back to the invention of the wheel (and beyond), the term itself comes from the word engineer, which goes back to the 14th century, when an ‘engine’er’ meant someone who constructed military engines like catapults and other ‘siege engines.’ Engineering developed beyond military applications and began to be applied to civilian structures like bridges and buildings, leading to the creation of the term civil engineering, to differentiate it from the original military engineering field. Enginering sciences are examined in this book., Mühendislik bilim, teknoloji ve matematiği birbirine bağlamayı amaçlar ve bir disiplin olarak binlerce yıldır uygulanmaktadır. Mühendisler, hücre zarlarından inşaat ve protezlere, motor ve taşıma verimliliğinin iyileştirilmesine ve yenilenebilir enerji kaynaklarının geliştirilmesine kadar her konuda çalışırlar. Mühendislik, tekerleğin icadına (ve ötesine) kadar uzanıyor olsa da, terimin kendisi, bir "mühendis"in mancınık ve diğer "kuşatma makineleri" gibi askeri motorlar inşa eden kişi anlamına geldiği 14. yüzyıla kadar uzanmaktadır. Abstract: Internet technology, which has a great place in production, has also played an important role in delivering products and services to customers in recent years. Digital marketing, which is defined as product promotion and marketing activity through digital media; has started to take its place among the indispensables of daily life with rapidly developing methods. The demands and needs of consumers are met through websites, social media platforms, search engines and mobile applications. The aim of businesses that adopt digital marketing and apply it in production / service processes is to sell more products and increase their profitability by using the most effective method or channel that enables them to reach their target audience. Covid-19 virus that shook the whole world in 2020; has gone down in history as a pandemic period that deeply affected economic and social life for two years and forced governments to take various measures. During the epidemic, significant changes have occurred in people's lives, causing great fear and trauma. High rate of transmission and mutation; has brought mandatory measures such as quarantine, social distance, working from home and wearing a mask. In the pandemic period, consumers preferred e-commerce, which is a fast and practical way to meet their needs. During the epidemic, which gave the opportunity for digital marketing to develop and operate on a global scale, the purchases made by consumers in the physical environment were transferred to digital environments. Digital channels have become new marketplaces for consumers whose consumption habits have completely changed after the pandemic; the success of digital marketing is associated with the content created. Content management is a digital marketing process that covers the production and sharing of quality content that will enable businesses to reach existing and potential consumers in the most effective way in an environment where there are millions of buyers, sellers and, Üretimde büyük rol oynayan internet teknolojisi son yıllarda ürün ve hizmetlerin müşterilere ulaştırılmasında da önemli bir rol oynamaktadır. Dijital ortamlar üzerinden söz konusu ürünlerin tanıtımı ve pazarlama faaliyeti olarak tanımlanan dijital pazarlama, hızlı gelişen yöntemler ile günlük hayatın vazgeçilmezleri arasında yer almaya başlamıştır. Web siteler, sosyal medya platformları, arama motorları ve mobil uygulamalar aracılığı ile ürün ve hizmetlerin satışını sağlayan dijital pazarlama; elektronik ortamda sunulan ve yürütülen etkili bir pazarlama yöntemidir. İşletmeler, hedef kitlelere ulaşmalarını sağlayan en iyi yöntemi ve kanalı kullanarak dijital pazarlama ile daha fazla ürün satmayı ve karlılıklarını artırmayı hedeflemektedirler. 2020 yılı başlarında tüm dünyayı etkisi altına alan COVID19 salgını ekonomik ve sosyal hayatı etkisi altına alan ve hükümetleri çeşitli önlemler almaya mecbur bırakan pandemi dönemi olarak tarihe geçmiştir. Salgın döneminde insanların yaşamlarında önemli değişiklikler meydana gelmiş, büyük korku ve travmaların yaşanmasına neden olmuştur. Yüksek bulaş hızı ve mutasyon nedeniyle karantina, sosyal mesafe, evden çalışa ve maske gibi zorunlu tedbirleri de beraberinde getiren pandemik dönemde tüketiciler ihtiyaçlarını karşılamak amacıyla hızlı ve pratik bir yol olan e-ticareti tercih etmişlerdir. Dijital pazarlamanın canlanması ve hız kazanmasına neden olan COVID19 salgını tüketicilerin fiziksel ortamda gerçekleştirdikleri alışverişlerin dijital ortamlara taşınmasına neden olmuştur. Pandemi sonrası tüketim alışkanlıkları değişen tüketiciler için dijital kanallar yeni pazar yerleri haline gelmiş, dijital pazarlamanın başarısı oluşturulan içerikler ile ilişkilendirilmiştir. İçerik yönetimi dijital pazarlamada başarılı olmak için kritik bir rol oynamaktadır. Abstract: Bu calismanin amaci, Turkce ogretmenlerinin ogrencilerin konusma becerilerini gelistirmek amaciyla kullandiklari yontem ve teknikler ile ornek uygulamalari tespit etmektir. Insanlarin deneyimlerini aciga cikaran ve olgulara verdikleri anlamlara odaklanan fenomenoloji desenine gore tasarlanan bu arastirmada nitel veri toplama tekniklerinden yari-yapilandirilmis mulakat kullanilmistir. 10 Turkce ogretmeninden olusan calisma grubu kartopu ornekleme yontemiyle belirlenmistir. Elde edilen veriler icerik analizine tabi tutulmus ve bulgular bolumundeki tablolarda detayli olarak ele alinmistir. Arastirma sonuclari katilimcilarin, aktif ogrenmeyi ve ogretmeyi tesvik eden yontem-teknikleri kullanmada yetersiz kaldigi tespit edilmistir. Ayrica katilimcilarin, derslerinde zengin ogretim yontem ve tekniklerini uygulayabilmek icin sahip olmasi gereken bilgi birikimi konusundaki durum da sonuc ve oneriler bolumunde ele alinmistir.

Abstract: Cytokine release syndrome (CRS) or cytokine storm isas a result of the excess production of pro-inflammatorycytokines which is due to the disproportionate responseof the immune system which can be instigated bySARS-CoV-2. COVID-19 which is caused by SARSCoV-2 has a correlation with cytokines. SARSCoV-2 instigates the production of IL-1 by ubiquitousmacrophages and mast cells. IL-1 tends to influencethe production of IL-6 and TNF-α. The progressionof COVID-19 severity influences the level of certaincytokines such as IL-6. IL-6 is the cytokine chieflyresponsible for the occurrence of CRS. CRS is thecause of COVID-19-related complications and themain cause of COVID-19-related deaths. Despite thedata reported in the literature so far, the relationshipbetween SARS-CoV-2 and cytokines has not been fullyelucidated. The aim of the present review is to examinethe relationship in question. Targeting cytokines duringCOVID-19 treatment has the potential to increasepatient survival and reduce COVID-19-related deaths.It is concluded that focusing on the mechanisms ofcytokine release and the effects of released cytokines,especially examining the effects on T lymphocytesand IFN-γ production in COVID-19 disease, may helpreduce the lethal effects of the disease., Sitokin salınım sendromu (SSS) veya sitokin fırtınası,SARS-CoV-2 tarafından başlatılabilen, bağışıklıksisteminin orantısız tepkisinden kaynaklanan proinflamatuarsitokinlerin aşırı üretiminin bir sonucudur.SARS-CoV-2'nin neden olduğu COVID-19, sitokinlerlekorelasyon göstermektedir. COVID-19 tedavisi sırasındasitokinlerin hedeflenmesi, hastaların hayattakalma oranlarını artırma ve COVID-19 ile ilişkili ölümleriazaltma potansiyelini taşımaktadır. COVID-19hastalığında, sitokin salınım mekanizmalarına ve salınansitokinlerin etkilerine odaklanılmasının, özellikleT lenfositler üzerindeki etkilerinin ve IFN-γ üretimininirdelenmesinin, hastalığın ölümcül etkilerini azaltmayayardımcı olabileceği düşünülmektedir.

Abstract: Sunulan çalışmanın amacı kedilerin enfeksiyöz anemisi olarak adlandırılan, zoonoz olduğu bilinen, kedilerde genellikle hemolitik anemi ile seyreden doğru tedavi yapılmazsa kedinin ölümüne yol açabilen hemotropik mikoplazmaların bir üyesi olan Mycoplasma haemofelis'in Kırıkkale ilinde varlığının PCR metodu ile belirlenmesidir. Çalışmanın materyalini Kırıkkale Üniversitesi Veteriner Fakültesi Dahiliye, Cerrahi ve Doğum Kliniklerine 2021 Ocak – Ağustos aylarında farklı şikayetlerle getirilen, yaşları 2 ay-10 yaş arasında değişen, farklı ırklardan, 50 erkek, 50 dişi kedi oluşturdu. Ayrıntılı anamnezleri alınıp, klinik muayeneleri yapılan kedilerden alınan kan örneklerinden hazırlanan frotiler Giemsa boyama yöntemi ile sitolojik olarak incelendi. Ayrıca kanlardan tam kan sayımı yapılarak, artan kan örnekleri 16S ribozomal RNA geninin PCR analizine tabi tutularak incelendi. Sonuç olarak; PCR analiz bulgularına göre Kırıkkale'de Mycoplasma haemofelis insidensi %13 olarak belirlendi. This study aimed to determine the presence of Mycoplasma haemofelis, which is a member of the hemotropic mycoplasmas called infectious anemia of cats, known to be zoonotic, usually progresses with hemolytic anemia in cats, and can lead to the death of the cat if it is not treated, in the Kırıkkale province by the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) method. The experimental units of the study consisted of 50 male and 50 female cats of different breeds, aged between 2-months and 10-years, brought to the Kırıkkale University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Internal Medicine, Surgery and Obstetrics Clinics with different complaints during January-August 2021. Scratches (Smears) prepared from blood samples taken from cats whose detailed anamnesis were taken and clinically examined and cytologically examination were performed by the Giemsa staining method. In addition, total blood count was done and the increased blood samples (blood samples with higher counts) were analysed by PCR for the 16S ribosomal RNA gene. According to the PCR analysis findings of the study, it was concluded that the incidence of Mycoplasma haemofelis in Kırıkkale is 13 %.

14. Otizmli bireylerin fiziksel aktiviteye katılım niyetlerinin planlı davranış teorisine göre incelenmesi

Abstract: Bu araştırmanın amacı, otizmli bireylerin fiziksel aktiviteye katılma niyetlerinin planlı davranış teorisine göre incelenmesidir. Araştırmaya, otizmli çocuğa sahip 16 ebeveyn (9 anne, 7 baba) gönüllü olarak katılım sağlamıştır. Araştırmanın teorik çerçevesini, planlı davranış teorisi oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada çalışma grubu, ölçüt örnekleme yöntemi ile seçilmiştir. Veriler, demografik bilgi formu ve yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu hazırlanarak toplanmıştır. Hazırlanan demografik bilgi ve yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kapsamında; katılımcılar ile yüz yüze görüşme ve çevrim içi uygulamalar aracılığıyla görüşmeler yapılmıştır. Toplanan veriler, tematik analiz yöntemiyle analiz edilmiştir. Tematik analiz yöntemi kapsamında; davranışsal inanç boyutunu toplamda 4 tema ve 10 alt tema, normatif inanç boyutunda toplamda 4 tema ve 9 alt tema ve kontrol inanç boyutunda ise toplamda 3 tema ve 10 alt tema ortaya çıkmıştır. Araştırma bulgularına göre, davranışsal inanç boyutunda, katılımcıların fiziksel aktiviteye katılma niyetlerinde, 'hayatımızın önemli bir parçası' teması kapsamında, avantaj olarak OSB'li bireyler için fiziksel aktivitenin, daha çok motor gelişime katkı sağladığı, normatif inanç boyutunda ise, 'bizi yönlendirdiler' teması kapsamında, OSB'li bireylerin genellikle özel eğitim öğretmeni ve doktor gibi uzman kişiler tarafından teşvik edildikleri tespit edilmiştir. Son olarak kontrol inanç boyutunda ise, hem 'kendimiz çözüm üretiyoruz' hem de 'çok fazla engelle karşılaşıyoruz' teması dahilinde, ulaşım ve maddi imkanların fiziksel aktiviteye katılımda hem kolaylaştırıcı hem de zorlaştırıcı olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Sonuç olarak, davranışsal inanç boyutunda OSB'li bireylerin fiziksel aktiviteye katılımında, genel anlamda olumlu bir tutum gösterdiği, normatif inanç boyutunda, fiziksel aktiviteye katılma niyetlerinde, olumlu geri dönüşlerinin olduğu ve kontrol inanç boyutunda ise, zorlaştırıcı faktörlerin ortadan kaldırılmasının katılımı önemli ölçüde arttırdığı söylenebilir. The aim of this research is to examine the intentions of individuals with autism to participate in physical activity according to the theory of planned behavior. 16 parents (9 mothers, 7 fathers) of children with autism voluntarily participated in the study. The theoretical framework of the research is the theory of planned behavior. In the study, the study group was selected by criterion sampling method. Data were collected by preparing a demographic information form and a semi-structured interview form. Within the scope of the prepared demographic information and semi-structured interview form; Interviews were conducted with the participants through face-to-face interviews and online applications. The collected data were analyzed by thematic analysis method. Within the scope of thematic analysis method; 4 themes and 10 sub-themes emerged in the behavioral belief dimension, 4 themes and 9 sub-themes in total in the normative belief dimension, and 3 themes and 10 sub-themes in total in the control belief dimension. According to the research findings, in the behavioral belief dimension, the participants' intention to participate in physical activity, within the scope of the theme 'an important part of our lives', as an advantage for individuals with ASD, physical activity contributes more to motor development, and in the normative belief dimension, 'they guided us'. In this context, it has been determined that individuals with ASD are generally encouraged by specialists such as special education teachers and doctors. Finally, in the control belief dimension, it has been determined that transportation and financial opportunities are both facilitating and complicating participation in physical activity, both under the theme of "we produce solutions ourselves" and "we encounter too many obstacles". As a result, it is concluded that in the behavioral belief dimension, individuals with ASD have a generally positive attitude in their participation in physical activity, in the normative belief dimension, their intention to participate in physical activity, they have positive feedback, and in the control belief dimension, removing the complicating factors will significantly increase participation.

Abstract: Bu araştırmanın amacı Osmaniye ilindeki okul sporlarına katılan 15-18 yaş arası kişilerin dijital oyun bağımlılığı ve sosyal ve duygusal yalnızlık düzeylerinin incelenmesidir. Araştırmamıza lise düzeyinde okul sporlarına katılan 263 (E=135, K=128) öğrenci gönüllü olarak katılmıştır. Araştırmamızda DiTommaso ve ark., (1997) tarafından geliştirilen Çeçen (2007) tarafından Türkçeye uyarlaması yapılan Sosyal ve Duygusal Yalnızlık Ölçeği ve Lemmens ve ark., (2009) tarafından geliştirilen, Türkçe geçerlik ve güvenirlik çalışması Irmak ve Erdoğan (2015) tarafından yapılan Dijital Oyun Bağımlılığı ölçeği kısa formu (DOBÖ-7) kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde SPSS 22 istatistik programı kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizi için aritmetik ortalama, standart sapma, bağımsız örneklem bağımsız örneklem t testi ve tek yönlü varyans (One Way Anova) testleri yapılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda elde edilen bulgulara göre; yaş ve sınıf değişkeni açısından, dijital oyun bağımlılığı, sosyal ilişkiler, romantik ilişkiler, aile ilişkileri alt boyutlarında ve sosyal ve duygusal yalnızlık genel ölçeği genel ortalamasında gruplar arasında anlamlı bir fark olmadığı tespit edilmiştir. Anne-Baba eğitim düzeyi değişkenine göre, romantik ilişkiler alt boyutunda gruplar arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı fark olduğu görülmüştür. Dijital oyun oynama süresi değişkenine göre, dijital oyun bağımlılığı genel ortalamada gruplar arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark olduğu görülmüştür. Dijital oyun bağımlılığı ölçeği ile romantik ilişkiler alt boyutu ve sosyal ve duygusal yalnızlık ölçeği arasında olumlu yönde pozitif bir ilişki olduğu görülmüştür. Ergen bireyleri sosyal ve duygusal yalnızlıktan uzaklaştırmak için dijital oyun bağımlılığı sürelerini aza indirip farklı rekreatif etkinliklere yönlendirilmelidir. Abstract: Bu araştırmada, ülkedeki sporla ilgili tüm faaliyet alanlarını organize eden ve yöneten Gençlik ve Spor Bakanlığı çalışanlarının halk oyunlarına yönelik nasıl bir düşüncede olduklarının ortaya koyulması amaçlanmıştır. Bunun için nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden olgubilim (fenomenoloji) deseni kullanılmıştır. Katılımcıların halk oyunlarına yönelik düşünceleri, betimlenmeye ve yorumlanmaya çalışılmıştır. Araştırma 2021–2022 yıllarında, T.C. Gençlik ve Spor Bakanlığı çalışanlarıyla yüz yüze ve elektronik ortamda gönüllülük esasına dayalı olarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu kapsamda 845 kişiye ulaşılmıştır. Veri toplamak için, demografik değişkenlerin ve "Halk oyunları ……… gibidir. Çünkü …...……" cümlesinin bulunduğu iki ayrı bölümden oluşan bir form meydana getirilmiştir. Katılımcılara cevaplamaları istenen formda "Halk oyunları ………. gibidir." kısmına bir kavram, "Çünkü …...……" kısmına ise o kavram için bir gerekçe yazmaları istenmiştir. Elde edilen verilerin analizinde nitel veri analizi yöntemlerinden içerik analizi başvurulmuştur. Katılımcıların geliştirdikleri metaforların analiz edilmesi ve yorumlanması dört aşamada gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu aşamalar: 1- Adlandırma aşaması, 2-Tasnif etme ve kategori geliştirme aşaması, 3-Geçerlik ve güvenirliği sağlama aşaması ve 4-Bulguların tanımlanması ve yorumlanması aşamasıdır. Araştırmaya katılan 845 kişiden toplam 594 metafor elde edilmiştir. Bu metaforlar 5 ana kategori olmak üzere 10 alt kategoride toplanmıştır. Bu çalışmada halk oyunlarının alt kategorilerde en çok ruhsal sağlıkla ilişkilendirildiği görülmüştür. Halk oyunları insanı eğlendiren, mutlu eden ve stresini alan bir etkinlik olarak açıklanmıştır. Halk oyunlarının bakanlık çalışanları tarafından daha ziyade geçmişe ait kültürel değer olarak görüldüğü söylenebilir. Gençlik ve Spor Bakanlığı çalışanları halk oyunlarını en az sanat ile ilişkilendirmiştir. Üretilen metaforların yaklaşık % 7.2'si sanat kategorisi içindedir. Bununla birlikte metaforları oluşturan kavramların yaklaşık % 8.5'i sporla ilgilidir. Bu bilgilerden çıkarılabilecek sonuç; araştırmaya katılan Gençlik ve Spor Bakanlığı çalışanlarının büyük bir çoğunluğunun (% 82) halk oyunlarını sanat ve spor alanı içinde görmediğidir. Halk oyunları, bakanlık çalışanları tarafından tarihi ve kültürel değeri olan, insanın ruh sağlığına iyi gelen, sosyal birlikteliği sağlayan bir etkinlik olarak görülmektedir. This study aimed to reveal how the employees of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, who organize and manage all sports-related activities in the country, think about folk dances. For that purpose, the phenomenology design, one of the qualitative research methods, was used. The thoughts of the participants on folk dances were tried to be described and interpreted. The research was carried out in 2021-2022 Academic Year. It was carried out on a voluntary basis with the employees of Turkish Republic Ministry of Youth and Sports, face-to-face and electronically. In this context, 845 people were reached. In order to collect data, a form consisting of two separate parts was developed with demographic variables and the sentence "Folk dances are like ………. because …………". In the form that the participants were asked to answer, they were asked to write a concept to complete the sentence "Folk dances are like………. ." and provided a justification for that concept in the " because ………." part. Content analysis, one of the qualitative data analysis methods, was used in the analysis of the obtained data. The analysis and interpretation of the metaphors created by the participants was carried out in four stages. These stages are: 1- Naming stage, 2-Classifying and category development stage, 3-Ensuring validity and reliability stage, and 4-Defining and interpreting the findings. A total of 594 metaphors were obtained from 845 people who participated in the research. These metaphors were collected in 10 sub-categories under 5 main categories. In this study, it was seen that folk dances were mostly associated with mental health sub-category among all the sub-categories. Folk dances are explained as an activity that entertains people, makes them happy and takes their stress away. It can be said that folk dances are seen as a cultural value belonging to the past by the ministry employees. The sub-category employees of the Ministry of Youth and Sports associated folk dances with the least was art sub-category. Approximately 7.2% of the metaphors created are in the category of art. Additionally, about 8.5% of the concepts that make up the metaphors are related to sports. The conclusion that can be drawn from this information is that the majority of the employees of the Ministry of Youth and Sports who participated in the research (82%) do not see folk dances in the field of art and sports. Folk dances are seen by the ministry staff as an activity that has historical and cultural value, is good for people's mental health, and provides social unity.

19. Serbest zaman davranışlarının kuşaklar arası farklılıklar açısından incelenmesi

Abstract: İnsanlığın başlangıç tarihinden itibaren olan süreç içinde, hemen hemen aynı yıllarda dünyaya gelmiş, aynı dönemin koşullarında yaşayan, dolayısıyla da birbirleriyle neredeyse aynı sorumluluklarla yükümlü olmuş kişilerin oluşturduğu kitle kuşak olarak tanımlanmaktadır. Her kuşağın hayata bakış açısı, iletişim tarzı, değer yargıları, çalışma alışkanlıkları, tutum ve davranışları birbirinden farklı özellikler göstermekte ve bu farklılaşma serbest zaman alışkanlıklarına da yansımaktadır. Bu bağlamda araştırmanın amacını serbest zaman davranışlarının kuşaklar arası farklılıklar açısından incelenmesi oluşturmaktadır. Bu araştırma tarama modelinde betimsel bir araştırmadır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu Kırıkkale ilinde yaşayan toplam 523 katılımcıdan oluşmaktadır. Veri toplama aracı olarak araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen; kişisel bilgiler ve serbest zaman tercihlerine ilişkin iki bölümden oluşan anket kullanılmıştır. Betimsel verilerin çözümlenmesinde yüzde (%), frekans (f) ve aritmetik ortalama ( ̅X) değerlerinden yararlanılmış; çoklu grup karşılaştırmaları için ANOVA (tek yönlü varyans analizi), farklılık yaratan grupları belirlemek için Tukey HSD Çoklu Karşılaştırma Testi kullanılmıştır. Kuşakların en çok kullandığı teknolojik aletin akıllı telefon olduğu, genel olarak teknolojik aletleri Y kuşağının X ve Z kuşağından daha fazla kullandığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Teknolojik aletleri kullanım amacının kuşaklar arasında farklılık gösterdiği kuşakların teknolojik aletleri en çok haberleşmek, en az dijital oyunlar oynamak amacıyla kullandığı tespit edilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçları genel olarak tüm kuşaklarda pasif ve amaçsız (internette gezinmek, sosyal medya takibi yapmak, müzik dinlemek vb.) etkinlik türlerinin daha fazla tercih edildiğini ve bu tür etkinliklere katılım sıklığının genç kuşaklarda daha yüksek olduğunu göstermektedir. Z kuşağı serbest zamanlarında "internette gezinmek, sosyal medyada vakit geçirmek etkinliklerini X ve Y kuşağına göre daha sık yaparken; Y kuşağı, "arkadaşlarla vakit geçirmek, kültürel etkinliklere katılmak" etkinliklerini X ve Z kuşağına göre daha fazla tercih etmektedir. X kuşağının ise serbest zamanlarında "televizyon izlemek" etkinliğini Y ve Z kuşağına göre daha sık yaptığı belirlenmiştir. Serbest zaman etkinliklerine katılım amacının genel olarak sırasıyla en fazla "eğlenmek, stres atmak, yenilenmek/rahatlamak" olduğu görülürken; X ve Y kuşaklarında "mutlu olmak", Z kuşağında ise "eğlenmek" amacı ilk sırada gelmektedir. Tüm kuşakların serbest zaman etkinlikleri için en fazla tercih ettikleri mekânlar sırasıyla "ev, açık alan/doğa, kafe vb. özel alanlar" olurken; X ve Y kuşağı için ilk tercih "açık alan/doğa", Z kuşağı için ise "kafe vb. özel alanlar" olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Within the time when the humanity arouse, the populace who are born almost in the same years, live in the same periods; thus, hold similiar responsibilities is defined as generations. The life perspectives, the communication ways, the standarts of value judgments, the work habits, the manners and attitudes of every generation differs and consequently this reflects to their leisure time activities. In this context, the research aims an examination of the differences between generations in terms of free time activities. This resarch is a descriptive one as a scanning model. The examplification of the research consists of 523 participants who are among X,Y and Z generations, living in Kırıkkale. As a means of data collecting, created by the researcher, a questionnaire is used which includes two sections related to the personal information and free time activities. To analyze the data, the percent (%), the frequency (f) and arithmetic mean ( ̅X) are taken into account; for the poly ones ANOVA( one way variation analyse) and Tukey HSD Multiple Comparison Test is used to indicate the groups who create differences. It is resulted that all generations use the smart phones chiefly as a technological device; and generally the technological devices are used by Y generation more than X and Z. In addition, it is determined that the purpose of using technological devices differs among generations. The generations use these devices in order to communicate at most whereas they use them to play digital games at least. According to the results, in all generations, the passive and aimless activities (surfing the net, following social media, listening to music etc) are often preferred and the frequency of attending these activities is higher among the young generations. Generally, the purpose of these activities is respectively 'to have fun, to get rid of stress, to relax'; while among X and Y generations 'to feel happy' is on the first place, it is 'to have fun' for the Z generation. Moreover, the Z generation, in accordance with the X and Y, prefers 'surfing the net, spending time on social media' as free time activities where as the Y generation chooses 'hanging out with friends, attending cultural activities' more than the X nd Y. As for X, they often prefers watching television. Besides, the places which the participants mostly prefer are respectively' home, outside/nature, private places such as cafes'. While the preference of the X and Y generation is 'outside/nature' , for the Z generation, "cafe etc. it has been concluded that there are "special areas".

Abstract: Poli(2,5-dihidro-2,5-dimetoksifuran), pDHMF, cis,trans-2,5-dihidro-2,5-dimetoksifuranın, DHMF, diokzan içerisinde SnCI4 ile polimerleştirilmesiyle elde edilmiştir. Fe(III) iyonlarının pDHMF üzerine maksimum adsorpsiyonu pH=6.5'ta gerçekleşmiştir. Ancak Fe(III) çökmesini önlemek amacıyla çalışmalar pH'sı 6.0'a tamponlanmış çözeltiler ile gerçekleştirilmiştir.Fe(III) derişimi 100 ppm olan çözeltilerle farklı sürelerde gerçekleştirilen adsorpsiyonlardan maksimum denge adsorpsiyonuna 120 dakikada ulaşıldığı ve 120 dakika sonunda adsorplanan Fe(III) miktarının 7.2 mg Fe(III)/g pDHMF olduğu bulunmuştur. Modifiye reçineler ile yapılan çalışmalarda denge adsorpsiyonuna daha yüksek adsorpsiyon değerleriyle daha kısa sürelerde ulaşmıştır. Elde edilen maksimum denge adsorpsiyon değerleri; pDHMF/NaOH için 60 dakikada 11 mg Fe(III)/g polimer, pDHMF/H2O2 için 60 dakikada 8.5 mg Fe(III)/g polimer ve pDHMF/KMnO4 için 80 dakikada 21.4 mg Fe(III)/g polimer'dir.Farklı derişimli Fe(III) çözeltileriyle yapılan çalışmalarda, adsorpsiyon hem pDHMF hem de modifiye polimerler için artan Fe(III) derişimiyle 600-650 ppm'e kadar lineer ve hızlı bir artış gösterdikten sonra yavaşlamış ve maksimum adsorpsiyon kapasiteleri pDHMF için 1000 ppm Fe(III) derişiminde 57.0 mg Fe(III)/g polimer, pDHMF/NaOH için 770 ppm Fe(III) derişiminde 98.0 mg Fe(III)/g polimer, pDHMF/H2O2 için 800 ppm Fe(III) derişiminde 87.0 mg Fe(III)/g polimer ve pDHMF/KMnO4 için 900 ppm Fe(III) derişiminde 119.0 mg Fe(III)/g polimer olarak elde edilmiştir. pDHMF'nin yüksek Fe(III) kapasitesinin NaOH, H2O2 ve KMNO4 modifikasyonu ile daha da arttığı görülmüştür.Kinetik çalışmalar adsorpsiyonun ikinci dereceden bir adsorpsiyon mekanizması ile gerçekleştiğini göstermiştir. Ayrıca, deneysel verilerin Freundlich izotermine uyduğu bulunmuştur. Poly(2,5-dihydro-2,5-dimethoxyfuran), pDHMF, was obtained from the polimerization of cis,trans-2,5-dihydro-2,5-dimethoxyfuran, DHMF with SnCI4 in dioxane. The maximum adsorption of Fe(III) ions on pDHMF realizes at pH=6.5. However studies are performed with the solutions of which pH has been buffered to 6.0 in order to prevent the precipitation of Fe(III).Adsorption studies carried out with 100 ppm Fe(III) solutions indicated a maximum equilibrium adsorption in 120 min with an adsorption of 7.2 mg Fe(III)/g pDHMF. Higher adsorption values in shorter time were obtained with modified resins. The obtained maximum equilibrium adsorption values are as; 11 mg Fe(III)/g polymer in 60 min for pDHMF/NaOH, 8.5 mg Fe(III)/g polymer in 60 min for pDHMF/H2O2 and 21.4 mg Fe(III)/g polymer in 80 min for pDHMF/KMnO4Adsorption studies in solutions with different Fe(III) concentration indicated fast and linear increase up to 600-650 ppm followed by slowing down both for pDHMF and modified polymers. Obtained maximum desorption capacities are as; for pDHMF 57 mg Fe(III)/g polymer in 1000 ppm, for pDHMF/NaOH 98.0 mg Fe(III)/g polymer in 770 ppm, for pDHMF/H2O2 87 mg Fe(III)/g polymer in 800 ppm and for pDHMF/KMnO4 119.0 mg Fe(III)/g polymer in 900 ppm Fe(III) concentration. It was observed that the high capacity of pDHMF increased higher values upon NaOH, H2O2 and KMnO4 modification.Kinetic studies indicated a second order adsorption mechanism. Obtained results showed an experimental data following Freundlich isotherm with high correlation. 73

21. The effectiveness of a caries preventive program in mothers and infants – An 18- month follow-up study

Abstract: Background/purpose: MS and LB, the primary bacteria groups responsible for dental caries, and high levels of these bacteria in the mother promote transmission from mother to infant. The aim of this study was prevention of maternal MS and LB transmission on infants by using different preventive strategies and inhibition of early childhood caries proggession. Materials and methods: This study was conducted with 50 mother-child pairs who were randomly allocated into either a study group or a control group (n = 25 each). Mothers in the study group were enrolled in a detailed preventive program that included elimination of dental caries with restorative and antibacterial procedures, whereas those in the control group received only a single episode of oral-health education. Results: After 18 months, significant MS and LB inhibition was observed in the study group (p < 0.0001). In addition, caries prevalence in the infants in the study and control groups was 0% and 20% respectively, and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant (p = 0.020). Conclusion: These results indicate that primary preventive intervention and oral-health instruction can significantly inhibit the MS and LB levels of mothers and prevent caries in their children during the early years of life. © 2020 Association for Dental Sciences of the Republic of China 2013/02 This study was financially supported by the Scientific Research Project of Kirikkale University , Turkey (project number: 2013/02 ).

22. Belirlenmiş bazı parametreler açısından U23 Avrupa ve dünya güreş şampiyonalarının analizi ve kıyaslanması

Abstract: Bu araştırmanın temel hedefi; dünya güreş ülkelerinin çok önem verdiği ve gelecekte ülkelerinin güreşteki sportif başarılarının temel kaynağı olarak gördükleri U-23 (18-23 yaş) yaş gurubunda belirlenmiş parametreler doğrultusunda Kadınlar, Erkekler Serbest Stil ve Erkekler Grekoromen stillerde sıkletler itibariyle o stil sporcular için gözlem ve analizler yapmak, şampiyonaları birbirleriyle bu yönleriyle mukayeseler yapabilmek ve istatistiksel sonuçlara ulaşabilmektir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda ilk defa 2015 yılında Avrupa Şampiyonası ile başlanan bu yaş gurubu müsabakalarından yola çıkılarak 2016 Avrupa Şampiyonası, 2017 Avrupa Şampiyonası ve 2017 Dünya Şampiyonası bir gurup olarak ele alındı. 2018 Avrupa Şampiyonası, 2018 Dünya Şampiyonası, 2019 Avrupa Şampiyonası ve 2019 Dünya Şampiyonası da farklı bir gurup olarak ele alındı. Çünkü 2015-2017 yıllarındaki şampiyonalar 8 'er sıklet, 2018-2019 Şampiyonaları 10'ar sıklet olarak organize edilmiştir. Yapılan gözlem ve analizlere göre; 2015-2017 Şampiyonalarında Kadınlarda toplam 384 sporcu katılmış ve 454 müsabaka, Erkekler Serbest Stilde 549 sporcu 650 müsabaka ve Erkekler Grekoromen Stilde 608 sporcu 714 müsabaka gerçekleştirmişlerdir. ; 2018-2019 Şampiyonalarında, Kadınlarda toplam 485 sporcu katılmış ve 599 müsabaka, Erkekler Serbest Stilde 706 sporcu 829 müsabaka ve Erkekler Grekoromen Stilde 758 sporcu 892 müsabaka gerçekleştirmişlerdir. Tüm Şampiyonalara bakıldığında Kadınlarda Japonya, Rusya ve Ukrayna, Erkekler Serbest ve Grekoromen Stillerde ise Rusya, Gürcistan ve İran en başarılı ülkeler olarak tespit edilmiştir. Müsabaka başına düşen ortalama puanlarda; 2015 -2017 yılları şampiyonalarında Kadınlarda 9,56 müsabakayı kazanan sporcuların ortalama puanları 7,59 müsabakayı kaybeden sporcuların ortalama puanları 1,97, Erkekler Serbest Stilde, 10,91 müsabakayı kazanan sporcuların ortalama puanları 8,73 müsabakayı kaybeden sporcuların ortalama puanları 2,22 ve Erkekler Grekoromen Stilde 8,14 müsabakayı kazanan sporcuların ortalama puanları 6,56 müsabakayı kaybeden sporcuların ortalama puanları 1,59 , 2018-2019 yılları şampiyonalarında Kadınlarda 8,95 müsabakayı kazanan sporcuların ortalama puanları 7,27 müsabakayı kaybeden sporcuların ortalama puanları 1,69 Erkekler Serbest Stilde, 10,37 müsabakayı kazanan sporcuların ortalama puanları 8,22 müsabakayı kaybeden sporcuların ortalama puanları 2,16 ve Erkekler Grekoromen Stilde 8,52 müsabakayı kazanan sporcuların ortalama puanları 6,86 müsabakayı kaybeden sporcuların ortalama puanları 1,66 olarak tespit edilmiştir. Müsabaka bitiş ve kazanım şekillerinin sıkletler ile şampiyonalar arasındaki ilişki düzeyine bakıldığı Pearson Chi-Square bağımsızlık testi sonuçlarına göre Müsabaka bitiş ve kazanma şekillerinde sıkletler ile şampiyonaların birbirinden bağımsız olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır (p>0.10). Kazanılan puanların frekans dağılımlarında her üç stilde de ve her iki grup şampiyonada da 2 puan frekansı en yüksek bulunmuştur. Puan frekansının zaman dilimlerine dağılımlarında Kadınlar ve Erkekler Serbest Stilde en yüksek oran birinci devrede ve 0:30- 2:30 zaman aralığını içeren (Z2-Z5) bölümlerde gerçekleştiği Erkekler Grekoromen Stilde de müsabaka bölümleri içerisinde Ayakta birinci devre ve Ayakta ikinci devre bölümlerinde gerçekleştiği tespit edilmiştir. Çalışmadaki her bir parametre için sıklet bazında ve şampiyona bazında oranlar ve karşılaştırılmalar ayrıntılı olarak tablolar halinde verilmiştir. For this purpose, 2016 European Championship, 2017 European Championship and 2017 World Championship were handled as a group by starting from these age group competitions, which started with the European Championship in 2015 for the first time. 2018 European Championship, 2018 World Championship, 2019 European Championship and 2019 World Championship were also handled as a different group. Because the championships in 2015-2017 were organized as 8 weight categories, and the 2018-2019 Championships were organized as 10 weight categories. According to the observations and analyzes made;, in total, 384 athletes participated and 454 competitions in the Women, 549 athletes 650 competitions in the Men Freestyle and 608 athletes, 714 competitions in the Men Greco-Roman Style in the 2015-2017 Championships. 485 athletes participated and 599 competitions in the Women, 706 athletes 829 competitions in the Men Freestyle and 758 athletes 829 competitions in the Men Greco-Roman Style in the 2018-2019 Championships. When looking at all the Championships, were determined as the most successful countries Japan, Russia and Ukraine in Women , Russia, Georgia and Iran in Men Freestyle and Greco-Roman Styles . In average points per competition; in the Women , the average score of the athletes was 9,56 , the avarage scores of athletes who won competitions, 7.59, the average score of the athletes who lost the competition was 1.97, in the Men Freestyle, the average score of the athletes 10.91 the average score of the athletes who won competitions was 8.73, the average scores of the athletes who lost the competition was 2.22, and in the Men Greco-Roman Style, the average score of the athletes 8.14 the average score of the athletes who won competitions 6.56, the average scores of the athletes who lost the competition was 1.59, were determined In the 2015-2017 championships . in the Women , the average score of the athletes was 8,95 , the avarage scores of athletes who won competitions, 7.27, the average score of the athletes who lost the competition was 1.69, in the Men Freestyle, the average score of the athletes 10.37 the average score of the athletes who won competitions was 8.22, the average scores of the athletes who lost the competition was 2.16, and in the Men Greco-Roman Style, the average score of the athletes 8.52 the average score of the athletes who won competitions 6.86, the average scores of the athletes who lost the competition was 1.66, were determined In the 2018-2019 championships . According to the results of the Pearson Chi-Square independence test, in which the relationship between the weight categories and the championships was examined, it was concluded that the weight categories and championships were independent from each other in the way of ending and winning the competition (p>0.10). In the frequency distribution of the points earned, the highest frequency of 2 points was found in all three styles and in both group championships. In terms of the distribution of score frequency to time zones, the highest rate was detected the first half and in the sections with the 0:30-2:30 time (Z2-Z5) at Women and Men Freestyle style. It has been determined that Standing first half and Standing second half sections are intensty about point scores within the competition sections at Men Greco-Roman Style. For each parameter in the study, the rates and comparisons on the basis of weight categories and championship are given as detail on tables. Abstract: PubMed: 32416307 In present work, temperature-responsive flurbiprofen (FLU) containing chitosan/hydroxypropyl cellulose (CS/HPC) blend nanospheres were prepared using emulsion method. The structures of blend nanospheres were characterized by ATR-FTIR, XRD, SEM, DSC/TGA, zeta potential and particle size analyses. Their lower critical solution temperatures (LCST) were determined and found to be 42 °C. In vitro release studies were performed in gastrointestinal-tract simulated conditions at 30 °C, 37 °C and 44 °C. As the medium temperature was increased, the release of FLU decreased, indicating that blend nanospheres had temperature-responsive feature. The FLU release demonstrated that release profiles depend upon CS/HPC ratio, amount of FLU present in the nanospheres and percentage of cross-linker used. Moreover, the cytotoxicity tests were performed via MTT method and it was observed CS/HPC nanospheres were biocompatible. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Eighty eyes were evaluated in 40 cases consisting of 20 IIH patients and 20 participants in the control group. This study was conducted using SE and SWE in addition optic nerve sonography measurements of participants in the IIH patient group and the control group. SE patterns were categorised using three main types and two subtypes. Quantitative measurements of optic nerve stiffness with SWE were expressed in kilopascals. Recent commercial extended-pour irreversible hydrocolloid impression materials (EPIHIMs) claim to maintain dimensional stability up to 120 hours. However, data regarding their mechanical properties and performance after 120 hours of storage are lacking. Purpose. The purpose of this in vitro study was to test the elastic recovery, strain in compression, and tear strength properties of 5 commercially available EPIHIMs, immediately after preparation and after 120 hours of storage under specific storage conditions. Material and methods. A total of 150 specimens were prepared in accordance with the ISO 21563:2013 standard from 5 commercially available EPIHIMs (Blueprint Xcreme, Kromopan, Alginmax, Hydrogum 5, and Alginelle). The specimens were subjected to elastic recovery, strain in compression, and tear strength tests immediately after specimen preparation (n=5) and after 120 hours of storage inside clear plastic zipper bags held at 23 degrees C (n=5). Data were analyzed with a multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) test for brand and duration parameters. Normality of data was analyzed with the Shapiro-Wilk test. The Duncan test or Games-Howell test was used for multiple comparisons (alpha=.05). Results. Elastic recovery and strain in compression values of the EPIHIMs tested were affected by brand and duration parameters (P.05). Data distribution was normal except for Alginmax in terms of the elastic recovery values and Blueprint Xcreme in terms of the strain in compression values (P.05). Recently, oxytocin (OT) has been found to have anabolic effects on bone metabolism. In this experimental study, the effects of OT on the mandibular distraction gap in rabbits at 2 different distraction rates were evaluated. Materials and Methods: This experimental study was conducted on 28 male New Zealand white rabbits. The animals were divided into 3 experimental groups and 1 control group. Group A (control group, n = 7) consisted of animals with distraction at a rate of 1 mm/day, and group B (n = 7) consisted of animals with a distraction rate of 2 mm/day; groups A and B received postoperative saline solution injection. Group C (n = 7) consisted of animals with distraction at a rate of 1 mm/day, and group D (n = 7) consisted of animals with a distraction rate of 2 mm/day; postoperative OT injection was performed in groups C and D. Results: Both histomorphologic and micro-computed tomography evaluations showed increased bone healing in the OT-treated groups. Conclusions: On the basis of the evaluation of both the histomorphometric and micro-computed tomographic data, systemic OT administration was found to increase new bone formation and bone healing with distraction osteogenesis. Abstract: This study aimed to give insights of in-service teachers’ experiences of nature of science (NOS) learning and NOS teaching through a co-teaching professional learning context. For this purpose, the co-teachers were encouraged to share and discuss ideas and to improve NOS teaching through reflection and collaborative interaction in the context of a Saturday science teaching program. The program provided students in Grades K–2 with hands-on activities covering various science topics over 5 weekly 2.5-h sessions. One co-teacher was an experienced university teacher; the other was an experienced primary teacher without NOS teaching experience. Data were collected by use of pre- and post-instruction of the Views of Nature of Science questionnaire, follow-up interviews, written artifacts, and videotaped teaching sessions. Results showed that co-teaching contributed to the teacher’s NOS learning as well as NOS teaching. The teacher recognized subjective, creative, empirical, and sociocultural NOS; she started to use NOS vocabulary more comfortably and developed teaching strategies and examples for sociocultural NOS. © 2020, Ministry of Science and Technology, Taiwan.

Abstract: Akbulut, Sami/0000-0002-6864-7711; TUNCALI, TIMUR/0000-0003-3600-8701 WOS:000531194300001 PubMed: 32388791 Purpose Congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) is rare autosomal recessive disease. CAH due to 21-hydroxylase deficiency accounts for 95% of cases. We aimed to share the first case of coexistence of simple virilizing-type congenital adrenal hyperplasia [I172N mutation in the CYP21A], triple translocation [t(9;11;12)], and ovarian granulose cell tumor. Methods A 59-year-old female patient was presented to our clinic, complaining with abdominal pain and distension. Physical examination revealed palpable abdominal mass, virilism, ambiguous genitalia, clitoramegaly, and hyperpigmentation. Contrast-enhanced abdominal computed tomography showed a giant mass originating from the right tubo-ovarian structure. Results The patient was operated in the light of the clinico-radiological features mentioned above. A giant mass weighing 3500 g was detected on the right tubo-ovarian structure during laparotomy, and mass was excised with right tubo-ovarian structure. Immunohistochemical examination revealed ovarian granulosa cell tumor. The high serum concentration of 17-OH progesterone was measured at baseline and after 250-mu g bolus of synthetic ACTH. In genetic analysis, we screened for six-point mutations, large deletions, and non-common mutations using restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) methods, PCR, and sequencing of CYP21 gene respectively. The patient was detected to be homozygous for the I172N mutation. In addition, 50% of the metaphases examined had triple translocation [t(9;11;12)]. Conclusion The coexistence of congenital adrenal hyperplasia, triple chromosomal translocations, and ovarian granulosa cell tumor has not been described previously. This coexistence may be a sign of a new syndrome.

On the other hand, patients often use social media to obtain health-specific information. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the YouTube videos about sarcopenia in terms of the knowledge value of what they present and to identify which of them can be considered as the quality sources of such information. Methods The descriptive study included 53 videos retrieved by searching the keywords 'sarcopenia', 'loss of muscle strength', 'sarcopenia treatment,' 'sarcopenia physiotherapy,' and'sarcopenia rehabilitation' on YouTube. The instructive characteristics of the videos were assessed with the Global Quality Scale, by which three quality groups were identified: poor-, moderate-, and high-quality videos. The DISCERN score was utilized to determine reliability. The sources of upload were identified as physicians, non-physician health personnel, health-related websites, universities and academic organizations, patients, and independent users. Finally, the lengths of videos, the number of views, likes, dislikes, and comments, and the DISCERN scores of the videos were compared using group comparisons. Results The results suggested that there were 18 poor-quality, 16 moderate-quality, and 19 high-quality videos. Considering the sources of upload, physicians had the highest ratio in the high-quality group (83.3%). The lengths of videos and the DISCERN scores showed significant differences (p < 0.01). The numbers of views, likes, dislikes, and comments were similar in both quality and source groups. Conclusion Most parts of the videos uploaded by physicians and academic organizations were included in the high-quality group. Overall, according to the results of the study, it can be asserted that high quality may be related to reliability. Furthermore, healthcare professionals and academics should consider using YouTube for increasing knowledge and raising awareness of patients about sarcopenia. Abstract: WOS: 000525954500014 PubMed: 32011836 Background/aim: Tumour budding (RI)) is considered a valuable prognostic factor in colon cancer (CC), but its use in daily practice is uncertain. W investigated the prognostic effect of RI) using preoperative biopsy specimens in a fairly homogeneous population. Materials and methods: Eighty-two (pN0) CC patients vho underwent surgery after preoperative biopsy between 1997 and 2013 We re included in the study. Model A (using the 'deeply invasive blocks & hot -spot area & invasive margin) and method 1 (using the '20x objective & immunohistochemistry staining & quantitive counting') were used as standard methods. Results: High BD was significantly associated with poor prognostic factors (lymphatic invasion [P = 0.008], perineural invasion [P = 0.041], advanced pT [P = 0.015], invasive margin [P = 0.008], and margin involvement [P = 0.019]). Moreover, correlations between different BD estimates (r = 0.613-0.696), reproducibility of study (Kappa = 0.68-0.73), and usefulness of cut-off value (area of under ROC = 0.746 [0.663-0.8291) were well. In univariate analysis, 5 -year survival was poor in patients with high BD (relaps-free survival 1RfS I: 71 %, P < 0.001; overall survival I OS1: 73 %, P 0.004, local recurrence I I,R 1: 18 %, P = 0.032). Multivariate analyses confirmed that high BD is an independent worse survival parameter for RI S (1 lazard ratio [I IR]: 1.53 [1.14-2.80], P 0.015), OS (I IR: 1.44 11.17-2.751, P 0.032, and FR (I IR: 1.59 11.05-2.761, P 0.045). Conclusion: Our data show that BD provides valuable prognostic information for early-stage (pN0) CC in preoperative biopsy specimens and that adding RI) to current risk classification may contribute to better patient selection.

The purpose of this study is to examine the nature and context of parent perspectives of physical activity for their children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). Methods. In the study, one of the qualitative research methods, semi-structured interview technique was used as the research design phenomenology method. In addition to demographic information form, participants were asked about the factors that facilitate or constraints their children's participation in physical activity and the benefits of physical activity. Criterion sampling, one of the purposive sampling methods, was used in the study. The study group consisted of 11 parents whose ages ranged from 37 to 55 years (Mage = 44.09, SD = 6.59) and children participated to physical activity rehabilitation program which was carried out by a special education and rehabilitation center. Thematic analysis method was used for data analysis. Results. Three themes being constraints in physical activity, facilitators in physical activity and benefits of physical activity were reported. In the study, most frequently reported constraints were intrapersonal and the most commonly reported facilitator was also intrapersonal. Parents' opinions suggest that interpersonal factors and structural factors are important for special education students with ASD to continue their participation in physical activity. Conclusion. As a result, it is seen that the parents of individuals with ASD encounter some constraints in directing their children to physical activity, however due to the benefits obtained despite these constraints, their children continue to participate in physical activity.

The aim of this study is to show the efficacy, safety and outcomes of unprepared polyethylene glycol (PEG)-flush retrograde colon cleansing in the diagnosis and treatment of elderly home care patients with LGIB. Methods A single-center study was performed between January 2014 and June 2018. Elderly home healthcare patients presenting with hematochezia were enrolled, and an unprepared retrograde bowel cleansing colonoscopy was performed within the first 8 h after admission to the emergency department. PEG solution (2 L) was added to the water jet tank, and jet pump injection was started from the left side of the colon to the right segment of the colon and ended up at the cecum. Results In total, 33 elderly patients presenting with hematochezia were evaluated. Mean inward and outward procedure times were 17.06 +/- 4.92 (8-33 min) and 28.66 +/- 6.88 (10-30 min), respectively. Most of the bleeding was localized in the right colon at 22 patients (66.3%). Endoscopic treatment was performed in 87.9% of patients. The average length of stay in hospital was 44.70 +/- 42.81 (range 18.00-240.00 h). Conclusions Immediate unprepared PEG-flush colonoscopy in elderly home care patients with acute LGIB is a safe and effective method, which detects bleeding sources and provides endoscopic therapy. With this procedure, the time of hospital stay is reduced. Abstract: Background and objectives: Amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker derivative, is frequently used by patients with high blood pressure. Studies reported that it can induce gingival overgrowth. However, the underlying mechanism is not fully described yet. Interleukin-17A (IL-17A) is known as a proinflammatory cytokine, but current studies indicate that it has a role in fibrotic disorders and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT). The aim of this study was to figure out the possible role of IL-17A in amlodipine-induced gingival overgrowth. Materials and methods: Twenty-nine (29) individuals participated in the study, and they were assigned into 3 groups based on medical status and clinical periodontal examination; 9 patients with amlodipine-induced gingival overgrowth, 11 patients with inflammatory gingival overgrowth, and 9 healthy individuals as a control group. Clinical periodontal parameters including plaque index (PI), gingival index (GI), and gingival overgrowth index (GOI) were recorded. Blood and gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) samples were obtained. Gingival tissues were taken by appropriate periodontal surgery following initial periodontal therapy. To detect IL-17A on tissue samples, immunohistochemistry (IHC) was performed. Quantitative analysis was done, and the expression level of IL-17A was given as the percent positively stained cells. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) kits were used to analyze IL-17A in serum and GCF samples. Results: All recorded clinical parameters were significantly higher in gingival overgrowth groups compared with control. Evaluation of inflammation on tissue sections did not show any significant change within the groups. Findings Based on thorough literature review, 55 criteria were added, 17 criteria were removed, and 60 criteria were modified. As a result, 153 TIME criteria composed of 112 TIME-to-STOP and 41 TIME-to-START criteria were introduced. Message TIME criterion set is an update screening tool reported from Eastern Europe that included experts from geriatrics and other specialties frequently giving care to older adults and some additional practical explanations for clinical use. While current criterion sets are useful to some extent, they do not meet the need in some European countries. Turkish inappropriate medication use in the elderly (TIME) criteria was planned to meet this need. Methods In phase 1, the user friendly sets: STOPP/START version2 and CRIME criteria were combined. National experts composed of geriatricians and non-geriatricians were invited to review and comment. In phase 2, thorough literature review was performed and reference-based revisions, omissions, and additions were made. Explanatory additions were added to some criteria to improve application in practice. In phase 3, all working group members reviewed the criteria/explanations and agreed on the final content. Results Phase 1 was performed by 49 expert academicians between May and October 2016. Phase 2 was performed by 23 working group academicians between October 2016 and November 2018 and included face-to-face interviews between at least two geriatrician members and one criterion-related specialist. Phase 3 was completed between November 2018–March 2019 with review and approval of all criteria by working group academicians. As a result, 55 criteria were added, 17 criteria were removed, and 60 criteria were modified from the first draft. A total of 153 TIME criteria composed of 112 TIME-to-STOP and 41 TIME-to-START criteria were introduced. Conclusion TIME criteria is an update screening tool that differs from the current useful tools by the interactive study of experts from geriatrics and non-geriatrics, inclusion of practical explanations for some criteria and by its eastern European origin. Two sub processes, an enumeration strategy and a consistency, run under the constraint programming main algorithm. The enumeration strategy which is managing the order of variables and values to build a search tree and possible solutions is crucial process in CP. In this study problem-based specific variable selection rules are studied on a mixed model assembly line balancing problem. The 18 variable selection rules are generated in three main categories by considering the problem input parameters. These rules are tested with benchmark problems in the literature and experimental results are compared with the results of mathematical model and standard CP algorithm. Also, benchmark problems are run with two CP rules to compare experimental results. In conclusion, experimental results are shown that the outperform rules are listed and also their specifications are defined to guide to researchers who solve optimization problems with CP.

The aim of this descriptive study was to investigate nursing students' attitudes towards death and their perceptions of spirituality and spiritual care. The study sample consisted of 237 second-, third- and fourth-grade nursing students. Data were collected using a "Personal Information Form", the "Spirituality and Spiritual Care Rating Scale (SSCRS)" and "Death Attitude Profile-Revised (DAP-R)". Number, percentage, mean, standard deviation and Spearman's correlation analysis were used for analysis. Participants stated that they had witnessed death before (73.8%), that spiritual care of dying patients and their families should be given special importance (93.7%) and that they feel incompetent in providing spiritual care (86.1%). Participants had a mean SSCRS score of 3.45 +/- 0.43. They had the highest and lowest scores on the DAP-R subscales of "fear of death" (4.48 +/- 0.83) and neutral acceptance (3.71 +/- 1.21), respectively, indicating that they have a high fear of death and above average perceptions of spirituality and spiritual care. It is recommended that different teaching methods be integrated into the curriculum to help nursing students develop more positive attitudes towards death and improve their perceptions of spiritual care.

But production systems inevitably contain stochastic situations. In this study, the stochastic type-II assembly line balancing problem (ALBP) is considered. Firstly, a chance-constrained nonlinear mixed integer programming (MIP) formulation is developed from the well-known deterministic form. Then, a new linearized stochastic model is proposed by using some transformation approaches to reduce model complexity, and the model is solved. Finally, constraint programming (CP) models for deterministic ALBPs, nonlinear chance-constrained stochastic ALBPs and linearized chance-constrained stochastic ALBPs are developed, respectively. Problems from the literature are utilized to test the effectiveness of the proposed models and the results are compared with a bidirectional heuristic algorithm. The numerical results show that the CP models are more effective and successful for solving the stochastic ALBP. Some managerial implications are also suggested for industrial environments that consistently face ALBPs.

This study was conducted to determine the effects of a psychoeducation programme for emotion identification and expression in those diagnosed with schizophrenia on their ability to identify and discriminate between emotions and social functionality. This quasi-experimental study (pretest-post-test, with control group) comprised an intervention (21) and a control (21) group conducted with individuals diagnosed with schizophrenia. A 10-week psychoeducation programme was offered to the intervention group. Measuring instruments were administered to the groups before the intervention, after the intervention, and 3 months after that. The measuring instruments consisted of a personal information form, the Facial Emotion Identification Test, Facial Emotion Discrimination Test, and Personal and Social Performance Scale. The data were analysed using the 'two-way repeated measures analysis of variance'. The TREND method was used for reporting. In the first measurements taken after the psychoeducation programme, a significant difference was found between the two groups in terms of their 'Facial Emotion Identification Test' and 'Personal and Social Performance Scale' mean scores. In the measurements taken 3 months after the psychoeducation programme, this difference had disappeared. The psychoeducation programme is an effective programme that makes recognition of facially expressed emotions possible and increases the social functioning of patients.

Materials and methods: The study was comprised of 97 pregnant women hospitalized for threatened preterm labor and 35 healthy pregnant women without preterm labor. Serum copeptin were compared with likelihood of threatened preterm labor timing of delivery and time interval to delivery. Result: Copeptin level of threatened preterm labor group was higher than of control group [7.76(0.39-35.62) ng/mL, 6.23(1.64-36.88) ng/mL, respectively, p = .04]. Copeptin levels of women did not differ according to preterm or term birth [7.76(0.69-35.62) ng/mL, 6.73(0.39-36.88) ng/mL, respectively, p = .22). Quartiles of copeptin levels were not associated with risk status or preterm birth. Conclusions: Serum copeptin is higher in threatened preterm labor. It does not differentiate those with threatened preterm labor verses preterm birth.

42. Determination of the opinions of individuals aged 65 and over on aging in place: the case of Ankara

Abstract: CICEK, BIRGUL/0000-0002-3985-6637 WOS: 000513124900001 This study was planned to determine the opinions of individuals aged 65 years and older on "aging in place" and was conducted with 506 elderly individuals living in the cankaya district of Ankara. In order to determine the level of satisfaction of the elderly with the environment they live in, the "Aging in Place Scale," consisted of 15 items and three sub-dimensions, was used. In the study, the score received from the scale indicates the level of satisfaction of elderly individuals with the environment they have lived for a long time. In the study, the elderly were observed to receive scores well above the averages in all three sub-factors, and this situation demonstrated that their satisfaction levels were high. There was no statistically significant difference between the Aging in Place Scale and its sub-factors scores of the elderly and gender and housing ownership. A statistically significant difference was found between the "Attainable Social Support" sub-factor and the level of education and income, and Aging in Place Scale, "Perceived Social Support" and "Physical Competence" sub-factors with living situation. Furthermore, in the study, the relationship between marital status and Aging in Place Scale, its all sub-factors were also statistically significant. The obtained results were discussed within the framework of the studies in the literature, and suggestions were made to individuals, the related institutions and organizations for elderly individuals to age in place successfully.

Materials and methods: A total of 60 extracted human mandibular premolar teeth have similar dimensions were included and the samples were split into four groups according to the irrigation technique (n = 15): conventional needle irrigation, PIPS, Er:YAG and Nd:YAG. ProTaper Universal system up to F4 was used for root canal instrumentation. Bidistilled water was used as an irrigation solution during instrumentation and irrigation activation. Apically extruded debris was collected into preweighed Eppendorf tubes during instrumentation and irrigation activation procedures. The tubes were then kept in an incubator at 70 degrees C for 5 days. The initial weight of the tube was subtracted from the final weight and the result was recorded as the weight of dry extruded debris. The data were evaluated statistically using a one-way ANOVA test followed by least significant difference post hoc test (p < .05). Results: Conventional needle irrigation caused significantly less debris extrusion than laser-assisted irrigation activation groups (p < .05). Laser-assisted irrigation activation groups caused statistically similar debris extrusion (p > .05). Conclusion: Laser-assisted irrigation activation techniques caused more debris extrusion when compared to conventional needle irrigation.

Abstract: Ekici, Husamettin/0000-0001-6403-737X; WOS:000530579900002 PubMed: 32356428 BACKGROUND: Skin is the body's first defence against direct exposure to variety of chemicals. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons such as 3-methylcholanthrene (3-MC) are common in polluted urban air and have a potential of producing harmful effects. Moreover, their late effects can occur months or years after exposure. OBJECTIVES: We aimed to investigate the long-term effects of 3-MC induced dermal toxicity on the expression of markers of apoptosis, pleiotropic cytokines, and oxidative stress and to determine the protective effect of cisplatin. METHODS: Groups were designed as control (group 1), 3-MC applied (group 2) and 3-MC+cisplatin applied mice (group 3). Cutaneous expressions of TGF beta, PDGFA, PDGFC, bFGF, PDGFR alpha, USP28, and Ki67 were evaluated with qPCR. Total oxidant (TOS), total antioxidant (TAS) and oxidative stress index (OSI) values were determined in liver and kidney tissues. RESULTS: The expression levels of TGF beta, PDGFR alpha, USP-28, Ki67, and PDGFA were decreased significantly in MC applied groups. Renal TAS levels were significantly lower in group-3. Liver and kidney OSI values were increased in both groups 2 and 3. CONCLUSION: The results indicated that low dose 3-MC caused oxidative stress and downregulated apoptotic and cytokine markers in the long term and cisplatin had no ameliorative effects on this degeneration processes (Tab. 3, Fig. 3, Ref. 32). Abstract: karahan, irfan/0000-0003-4669-1751 WOS:000530579700002 PubMed: 32356439 BACKGROUND: Triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells 1 (TREM-1) is secreted by phagocytes in adipose tissue and it also upregulates the expression of genes involved in the inflammatory response and atherosclerotic conditions. This study was aimed to investigate the serum TREM-1 levels in overweight patients. METHODS: Twenty-eight subjects in the overweight group (OG) and 20 age-matched healthy subjects in the control group (CG) (BMI 27.6 +/- 1.2 vs 23.1 +/- 2.17 kg/m(2), respectively, p< 0.001) were included in the study. The serum sTREM-1 level was measured by ELISA. The homeostasis model assessment score (HOMA-IR) was also calculated. RESULTS: The mean TREM-1 levels were significantly higher in OG than in CG (407.3 +/- 323.7 vs 150.3 +/- 152.7 pg/mL, respectively, p< 0.001). The HOMA-IR score was also significantly higher in OG than in CG (3.42 +/- 3.63 vs 2.77 +/- 1.61, respectively). A positive correlation was detected between TREM-1 and BMI (r= 0.318, p= 0.028). CONCLUSIONS: This study mainly demonstrated that a high serum TREM-1 level might be an early inflammatory marker in overweight patients. We found that TREM-1 might be associated with BMI in overweight patients regardless of insulin resistance (Tab. 1, Ref. 21). Text in PDF www.elis.sk.

Abstract: Weibull distribution is widely used in the modeling of mechanical properties such as tensile strength of ceramic and composite materials. The 95% one-sided confidence lower bounds on the 1st and 10th Weibull percentiles, namely A-basis and B-basis material properties, are important in reliability studies for understanding early failures and reducing risks. These lower bounds are generally estimated by small samples due to the high costs of the experiments, hence the precision of estimation remain low. Therefore, in the literature, many exact and approximate interval estimation methods for Weibull percentiles have been proposed for achieving better performance. In this study, a comprehensive comparison of the exact methods with Monte-Carlo simulations has been made. In addition, some methods developed for Weibull parameters are also included in this comparison since they can be used for exact lower bound estimation but have never used for this purpose in the literature. In the study, the lower bounds have been estimated by the maximum likelihood method, the Menon method and 25 different models of weighted/ unweighted least squares methods (such as improved estimators, interchanged axes), and average false coverage probabilities are used for the comparison criterion. According to the simulation results, the maximum likelihood and the weighted least squares method with Faucher & Tyson weight factors have very similar performances for sample sizes less than 8; and the maximum likelihood method has always shown the best performance for sample sizes greater than or equal to 20. However, it is emphasized that linear regression methods are more practical in terms of ease of calculation when performance differences are negligible, Weibull dağılımı seramik ve kompozit malzemelerin kopma mukavemeti gibi mekanik özelliklerinin modellenmesinde yaygın şekilde kullanılır. Mekanik özelliklerin %95 güven düzeyinde 1. yüzdelik ve 10. yüzdelik alt güven sınırları, diğer adıyla A-Temel ve B-Temel malzeme özellikleri, güvenilirlik çalışmalarında erken arızaları anlama ve risk azaltma için önemlidir. Bu alt sınırlar, deneylerin yüksek maliyetleri nedeniyle genellikle küçük örneklemlerle, dolayısıyla düşük hassasiyet düzeyleriyle tahmin edilir. Bu nedenle literatürde daha iyi tahminler gerçekleştirmeyi amaçlayan birçok kesin ve yaklaşık alt sınır tahmin yöntemi önerilmiştir. Bu çalışmada kesin yöntemlerin Monte-Carlo benzetimleriyle kapsamlı bir karşılaştırması yapılmıştır. Ayrıca, Weibull parametreleri için geliştirilen bazı yöntemler kesin alt sınır tahmininde kullanılabilir olmakla birlikte literatürde bu amaçla hiç kullanılmadığından bu karşılaştırma kapsamına alınmıştır. Çalışmada alt sınırlar, maksimum benzerlik, Menon yöntemi ve ağırlıklı/ağırlıksız en küçük kareler yöntemlerinin 25 farklı modeli (geliştirilmiş tahminleyiciler, değiştirilmiş eksenler gibi) ile tahmin edilmiş ve sonuçlar, ortalama yanlış kapsama olasılığı kriterine göre karşılaştırılmıştır. Benzetim sonuçlarına göre, hacmi 20’den küçük örneklemlerde maksimum benzerlik ile Faucher & Tyson ağırlık faktörlü en küçük kareler yöntemlerinin çok benzer performansa sahip olduğu, hacmi 20 ve daha büyük örneklemlerde ise maksimum benzerlik yönteminin her zaman daha iyi olduğu gözlemlenmiştir. Bununla birlikte, performans farklarının ihmal edilebilir olduğu durumlarda hesaplama kolaylığı açısından en küçük kareler yöntemlerinin daha pratik olduğu vurgulanmıştır.

Materials and Methods: A retrospective review was made of patients who underwent minimally invasive pectus repair. The patients were allocated into three groups as follows: PVB group (Pre-emptive ultrasound-guided bilateral thoracic single injection PVB, n=15); EDB group (Pre-emptive landmark-guided single injection thoracic EDB, n=8); and Control group (Neither PVB nor EPB, n=9). Abstract: WOS: 000514461700010 Background and Aims: Insulin resistance can be described as a subnormal biological response to a specific insulin concentration or deterioration of an accepted response to insulin in glucose homeostasis and deficiency of insulin response. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of insulin resistance on mortality in critically ill patients. Methods: Over 18-year-old and nondiabetic 150 patients that had been hospitalized in an intensive care unit (ICU) between September 2013 and October 2014 were enrolled in this study. The Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Enquiry II (APACHE II), Glasgow Coma Scale, and Richmond Agitation and Sedation Scale were calculated on the day of admission to the ICU, and following 4th day and 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th weeks. Insulin resistance was calculated using the HOMA formula. Infection and other complications during ICU stay, the requirement of mechanical ventilation (MV), nutritional status (parenteral and/or enteral), vasopressor, steroid, and insulin treatment were also recorded. Patients followed in the ICU were recorded as survivors and nonsurvivors. Results: Glucose levels were found to be higher in nonsurvivor group at the 1st week and there was a significant positive relationship between APACHE II score and insulin resistance at the 3rd week. There was a significant relationship between mortality and requirement of MV, vasopressor medication, complications, and infection. Conclusion: We conclude that the effect of insulin resistance seems to affect the mortality in critically ill patients after at least a 3 weeks long follow-up time.

Abstract: GULNAR, EMEL/0000-0002-4766-8927 WOS: 000529396900001 PubMed: 32326833 This study was conducted to determine the effect of the storytelling technique on the attitudes of nursing students toward death as a mixed research design. The study sample consisted of 94 senior students attending the nursing department of a university in Turkey. Quantitative data were collected by using the introductory characteristics form and the Death Attitude Profile-Revised, while qualitative data were collected through focus group interviews with the semistructured interview form. The data were analyzed according to number, percentage, Wilcoxon test, paired samples ttest, and descriptive analysis method. The mean Death Attitude Profile-Revised Scale score of the students before receiving the relevant education was 4.17 +/- 0.21. This score increased to 4.25 +/- 0.24 after the students received the education and the difference was found to be statistically significant (p < .05). In the qualitative section of the study, the data obtained from the attitudes of the students toward death were coded, and four themes were determined. The qualitative data obtained from the focus group interviews with the participating students were presented under four themes: the contribution of the storytelling technique to learning, the effect of the storytelling technique on the attitude toward death, thoughts about the storytelling technique, and contribution of the course to knowledge, skills and attitude in giving care to the dying patient. As a result of the study, explaining the subject of death with the storytelling technique was determined to positively affect the attitudes of the students toward death.

50. Kırıkkale yöresindeki ruminant işletmelerinden toplanan yemler ve sularda bazı inorganik maddelerin seviyelerinin araştırılması

Abstract: Bu çalışmanın amacı, Kırıkkale ili sınırları içerisindeki bazı ruminant işletmelerinden alınan yem ve sularda inorganik maddelerin (florür, klorit, bromat, klorür, nitrit, klorat, nitrat, fosfat, sülfat, lityum, sodyum, amonyum, potasyum, magnezyum ve kalsiyum) seviyelerinin belirlenmesidir. Yem ve su numuneleri Kırıkkale ili ve ilçelerinde bulunan 59 adet büyükbaş hayvan işletmesinden temin edilmiştir. Analiz sonucu tespit edilen inorganik madde içeriklerinden ortalama değerleri, florür için suda 0,48±0,23, yemde 64,46±52,85; klorit için yemde 46,42±59,65; klorür için suda 153,48±268,74 yemde 2808,65±1985,86; nitrit için suda 1,64±1,61, yemde 3,72; klorat suda 0,81±0,09; nitrat için suda 42,35±38,87, yemde 32,65±28,96; fosfat için yemde 926,76±485,24; sülfat için suda 257,56±437,01 yemde 1261,24±821,11; lityum için suda 0,11±0,02 yemde 0,32; sodyum için suda 123,15±187,32, yemde 1125,61±791,81; amonyum için suda 22,86±12,38, yemde 514,48±477,54; potasyum için suda 8,96±26,53 yemde 5806,20±1980,87; magnezyum için suda 29,14±52,58 yemde 132,59±105,00; kalsiyum için ise suda 89,53±69,55; yemde 165,03±159,19 ppm olarak bulunmuştur. Klorit, fosfat su numunelerinde, klorat yem numunelerinde, bromat hem su hem de yem numunelerinde tespit edilememiştir. Su numunelerinde florür limit değeri aşmazken, yemlerde 29 (%49,15) numunede sığırlarda flor için belirlenen 50 ppm değerini aşmıştır. Klorit 2 adet (%3,39) yem numunesinde, klorat suda 5 (%8,47), lityum suda 11 (%18,9) numune, yemde ise 1(%1,69) numunede tespit edilmiştir. Klorür suda 8 (%13,56) numunede 250 ppm değerini aşmıştır. Nitrat suda 7(%11,86) numunede 100 ppm değerini aşmıştır. Sülfat suda 3 (%5,08) numunede 1000 ppm, sodyum suda 10 (%16,94) numunede 200 ppm limit değerleri aşmıştır. Amonyum suda 3 (%5,08) adet numunede tespit edilmiştir. Nitrit suda 2 (%3,39) yemde 1 adet (%1,69) numunede saptanmış ve hayvanlar için belirlenen limit değeri aşmamıştır. Potasyum, magnezyum ve kalsiyum ise hem su ve hem yemde tespit edilmiştir. Sonuç olarak, hayvanlar tarafından tüketilen suların ve yemlerin hayvancılık işletmelerinin ekonomik yönden verim düzeyini artırması amacıyla kontrol altında tutulması uygun olacağı düşünülmüştür This study aimed to determine the levels of inorganic substances (fluoride, chlorite, bromate, chloride, nitrate, chlorate, nitrate, phosphate, sulfate, lithium, sodium, ammonium, potassium, magnesium, and calcium) in the feed and water taken from some ruminant enterprises within the borders of Kırıkkale province. The feed and water samples were obtained from 59 cattle farms in Kırıkkale. The mean values of inorganic substance contents determined as a result of the analysis were 0.48±0.23 in water, 64.46±52.85 in feed for fluoride; 46.42±59.65 in feed for chlorite; 153.48±268.74 in water and 2808.65±1985.86 in feed for chloride; 1.64±1.61 in water, 3.72 in feed for nitrite; 0.81±0.09 chlorate in water; for nitrate 42.35±38.87 in water, 32.65±28.96 in feed; 926.76±485.24 in feed for phosphate; 257.56±437.01 in water, 1261.24±821.11 in feed for sulfate; 0.11±0.02 in water, 0.32 in feed for lithium; 1125.61±791.81 in feed 123.15±187.32 in water for sodium; 22.86±12.38 in water, 514.48±477.54 in feed for ammonium; 8.96±26.53 in water 5806.20±1980.87 in feed for potassium; 29.14±52.58 in water, 132.59±105.00 in feed for magnesium; for calcium, it is 89.53±69.55 in water, it was found as 165.03±159.19 ppm in feed. In water samples chlorite and phosphate, in feed samples chlorate, and both in feed and water samples bromate could not be detected. Fluoride levels did not exceed the limit value in water samples, but it exceeded the 50 ppm value determined for fluor in cattle in 29 (49.15%) samples in feed. Chlorite was detected in 2 (3.39%) feed samples, chlorate was found in 5 (8.47%) water samples, lithium was found in 11 (18.9%) water samples, and in 1 (1.69%) feed samples. Chloride level exceeded the level of 250 ppm in 8 (% 13.56) water samples. Nitrate exceeded 100 ppm in 7 (11.86%) water samples. Sulfate exceeded the limit values of 1000 ppm in 3 (5.08%) water samples and sodium levels were above 200 ppm in 10 (16.94%) water samples. Ammonium was detected in 3 (5.08%) water samples. Nitrite was detected in 2 (3.39%) water and 1 (1.69%) in the feed sample and these levels did not exceed the limit value determined for animals. Potassium, magnesium, and calcium were detected in both water and feed. As a result, it would be appropriate to keep the water and feed consumed by animals under control in order to increase the economic efficiency of livestock enterprises.
