The main aim of this research is to develop a statistical model that can reliably predict bankruptcy of Serbian companies one year before bankruptcy proceedings start. The main motive for the research is the fact that there are not many scientific papers focusing on this important issue in Serbia. Bankruptcy prediction model may be useful for future researchers, but also for business owners and other stakeholders. Research was conducted using financial ratio indicators and discriminant analysis in IBM's SPSS v.26 program. Initially 100 companies from the territory of Serbia were included in the research, but after data screening and meeting all the assumptions for discriminant analysis, 74 of them were included in the final modelling process. It was confirmed that the commonly used financial ratios and discriminant analysis can be useful in creating a bankruptcy prediction model, since the classification power of the developed model is 71.6% for original grouped cases, and 70.3% for cross-validated cases.

The problem of corporate bankruptcies has intrigued the scientific community for years due to its practical significance. There is no country whose economic well-being is not affected by business failures. The research problem stems from the lack of analyses related to the issue of business failures in the the Republic of Serbia. The main aim of this research paper is to determine whether ratio indicators are relevant in predicting business failure one, two and three years before bankruptcy proceedings start. The research was conducted on a sample of 100 companies from the teritorry of Serbia. The data for ratios calculation was taken from the official website of the Business Registers Agency. Statistical analysis is based on Mann-Whitney test, which is used to identify differences between two groups with respect to a variable (ratio). The test was conducted in IBM's SPSS v.26 tool. Results of the research indicate that financial ratios can be useful for business failure prediction even three years before bankruptcy proceedings start, since there are statistically significant differences in ratio values between bankrupt and solvent companies.

The main aim of this research paper is to examine financial stability, including indebtedness, interest coverage, and profitability of enterprises in Serbian Agriculture, fishing, and forestry sector. The research was performed using the tools of accounting and financial analysis. Period from 2015 to 2019 was observed. Analysis was based on consolidated financial statements for all enterprises that belonged to the sector in mentioned period. Research results show that the enterprises managed to maintain acceptable level of long-term financial stability, while on the other hand, there was a more significant disturbance on the side of short-term financial stability. Solid performances were recorded in the field of interest coverage, but also indebtedness where those indicators met referent values in almost every observed year. In the field of profitability that was examined via ROA and ROE indicators, poor performance was recorded.

The importance of forensic accounting has been growing in recent years, especially when it comes to small and medium enterprises (SMEs). These entities do not have sufficiently developed accounting functions, they do not invest enough in staff who are not consequently motivated to present certain items of financial statements in a precise manner and in accordance with accounting standards. This results in reporting errors. The other side of the coin are the manipulations that happen with the intention and goal of presenting better business than the real situation to banks and other stakeholders. In this research paper, Beneish's M-Score model with five variables (M5) was applied as a method of forensic accounting, in order to detect manipulations in SMEs from sector C-Manufacturing in Serbia. The sample includes 73 companies, and only for 3 of them the M (5) Score exceeded the reference value and indicated a high risk of manipulation. The situation is different when looking at model variables individually; however, the results of the Mann-Whitney test indicate that there is no statistically significant difference in the level of liquidity and profitability of a firm depending on whether an entity manipulated from the individual model variables point of view or not.
