Climate change is defined as alterations in climate that degrade the environment on a global scale due to human activities, in addition to natural climate changes that occur over similar time periods. Since the consequences of global climate change are being felt more and more each day, this research aims to determine the opinions of pre-school education teachers working at the first stage of education regarding climate change. The research was conducted as a case study, one of the qualitative research methods that allows in-depth description and examination of a limited system. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with six preschool teachers. In the interview form, under the title 'Climate Change,' there are sections for causes, precautions, and comments on a related movie. As a result, teachers generally touched upon global warming and human activities regarding the cause and outcome of climate change and the precautions that can be taken. They emphasized that climate change awareness should be fostered during the preschool years.. In line with these results, suggestions have been made about what can be done in the preschool period in order to increase awareness about climate change.

RADIATIVE forcing , *CLIMATE change , *CLIMATE change models , *ATMOSPHERIC models , *SOLAR radiation - Abstract
Climate models enable an analysis of observation data related to global warming and climate changes, and they allow making predictions for near the future progress of climate changes. In this study, basics of the climate model, which is used in the analysis of global warming and climate change topics, and the analyses that can be carried out by using these models, are reviewed. Simplified energy balance model considers the balance state between the incoming solar energy from the sun and the radiation energy outgoing from the earth to space. In this perspective, the model allows considering the factors, which can influence global warming, as radiative forces that are acting on the balance state. Thus enabling simplified analyzes of climate changes based on the energy budget even though the climate changes depend on very complex and dynamically changing meteorological and geological factors. In this study, within the framework of basic radiation laws, such as Stefan-Boltzmann and Wien Displacement, the absorption and reflection rates of the solar radiation by the earth, and the atmospheric window concepts, which provide energy escape from the earth's atmosphere to the space within the long-wavelength of the electromagnetic spectrum, were reviewed. In this context, the radiative forcing due to the Albedo effect and the radiative forcing effects due to the accumulation of CO2 molecules in the atmosphere, which have the potential to alter depending on human activities, were explained. Illustrative examples and observation data-based calculations and analyzes are presented to make basic concepts and presented models easy-to-understand. This article is intended to be a tutorial that explains some basic concepts on the topics of global warming and climate change. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

CLIMATE change , *ECONOMIC structure , *ISLAM , *GOD in Islam , *CALIPHATE - Abstract
In recent years, global warming and climate change have become topics of increasing urgency, sparking discussions and solution proposals across various fields. Religions have also become involved in addressing these issues, as they play a fundamental role in shaping society and legitimising social, political, and economic structures, all of which are crucial to the broader human endeavour of "world-building". Given that humanity now faces a potential existential crisis, it is unlikely that religions would remain indifferent. In this context, exploring religious perspectives on global warming and climate change can provide significant insights and contributions. This article will focus on the role and impact of religions in general, and Islam in particular, in mitigating the destructive effects of global warming and climate change. Islam explicitly prohibits excess in all forms, emphasising a balanced life where individuals adhere to established rules to maintain harmony and prevent corruption. Accordingly, Islam's approach to combating global warming and climate change centres on the preservation of the natural order and balance created by Allah. As seen, Islam assigns humans the responsibility of stewardship, or "caliphate", which entails duties and obligations in response to the challenges of global warming and climate change. This article investigates the nuanced interplay between religiosity and environmental behaviors, specifically waste management and active environmentalism, within the context of two distinct Muslim societies. Drawing upon correlational survey methodology and employing questionnaire techniques, data were collected from 355 individuals aged 18 to 59, with a demographic composition comprising 50.4% Turkish Muslims (N=179) and 49.6% Jordanian Muslims (N=176). The mean age of the sample is 25.6 (SD= 7.75). Utilizing measures such as the "Environmental Behavior Scale", and "Brief Religiosity Scale", the study sheds light on the differential impact of religiosity on environmental practices across socio-cultural contexts. Results revealed a positive correlation between religiosity and both waste management and active environmentalism among the Jordanian sample, whereas a positive association was observed solely between religiosity and waste management within the Turkish sample. The implications of these findings are discussed, alongside recommendations for future research endeavors in this domain. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

GREENHOUSE gases , *CARBON emissions , *ECONOMIC forecasting , *SURFACE temperature ,PARIS Agreement (2016) - Abstract
Today, it has become clear beyond any doubt that climate change is one of the most serious threats to the future of the Earth. It is also known that climate change is largely triggered by human activities. For this reason, countries party to the Paris Agreement agreed to limit the increase in average surface temperature to 2.0 ℃ compared to the pre-industrialization level by 2100. The green growth model has been adopted to achieve the greenhouse gas reduction required for this target without compromising economic growth. In this study, firstly, the compliance of the green growth model with the Paris Agreement was ensured with the help of the definition of real green growth (RGG). It has been shown that the annual carbon efficiency increase must be 5% in order to achieve the RGG, in other words to reach the 2.0 ℃ target, considering the global economic growth projection and greenhouse gas emission scenario used in this study. Then, Türkiye's RGG performance was compared with selected countries and country groups between 2004-2020. Since it was concluded that Türkiye remained far from the 2.0 ℃ target due to the relatively high growth recorded and the lack of improvement in carbon dioxide emissions during the study period, it was evaluated that Türkiye needs a technological transformation in total energy supply. FINANCIAL inclusion , *GLOBAL warming , *PRINCIPAL components analysis , *LABOR supply , *DIVERSITY in the workplace - Abstract
This study aims to analyze the relationship between inclusive green growth and global warming for Türkiye with the help of the 1991-2020 period data set. In this context, in the study, the inclusive green growth index was first created with the help of 'Principal Components Analysis by using the components that make up inclusive green growth to represent inclusive green growth. Then, the impact of the inclusive green growth index, total labor force, and technological development on global warming was analyzed using the Johansen cointegration test, FMOLS, DOLS, and CRR estimators. The results contain evidence in all three models that the role of inclusive green growth in Türkiye is ineffective in reducing global warming. In addition to these results, the effect of technological development on global warming was found to be negative and statistically significant in all three models. However, it was found that the impact of the total labor force on global warming was negative in all three models. Still, the coefficient was statistically significant only in the DOLS estimator. It is of great importance to ensure inclusive green growth in Türkiye, ensuring financial inclusion, increasing the qualified workforce and directing public resources to more productive areas. Jammu and Kashmir has a unique identity in the world because of its civilization, geographical structure and attractive natural scenery. This land has been very fertile in terms of knowledge and literature, having produced literary personalities like Kalhan, Sheikh Ul Alam, Lal Ded, Ghani Kashmiri, Allama Iqbal and countless others who have beautifully portrayed the various aspects of the nature of this land in their writings. In modern times, the voice of the environment is heard in every sphere of life but when anything makes presence in literature it has the greatest impact on society. When we study the modern Urdu ghazal of Jammu and Kashmir in the context of environmental criticism, we find that it is deep rooted in this land both on artistic and intellectual levels. In this ghazal, where on the one hand, attention has been paid to the sensitive environmental problems of modern times, including climate change, global warming, ecological balance, etc. On the other hand, the negative impact of environmental changes on natural capital can also be seen. Moreover, in these ghazals, where on the one hand the poets are seen fighting for the protection of the environment and civilization, on the other hand the ghazals also support the wilderness of nature and its free existence in order to raise the concept of environmental sensitivity among the people. These are the specific aspects of environmental literature. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Beekeeping, which is a livestock branch made depending on nature, is to collect nectar from many vegetable sources from various regions, and to transform them into different bee products in the most economical and appropriate seasonal periods. Many products are obtained with beekeeping. The contribution of these products to the economy is very high. The use of bee products on human health has also increased in recent years. Apart from these, bees also make important contributions to the ecosystem. They are pollinators of many plant species existing in the world and they also serve as pollinators of many fruits and vegetables produced in greenhouses. Thanks to the pollinatorship of bees, the quality of the products obtained is increasing. Again, with its pollinator function, bees ensure the continuity of many endangered plants, and play an important role in ecosystem balance by increasing plant and animal diversity. Bees are not only involved in the pollination of plants that need an external pollinator, but also the product quality and quantity are increased in many plants that perform their own pollination. In this review, the importance of bees in pollination and the effect of global warming on bees are mentioned.

Changes in air temperatures with the effect of global warming are seen with increasing temperatures especially in summer months. Due to temperature increases, the use of air conditioners is increasing in order to provide the desired comfort conditions. As a result of the researches, it was determined that the air inlets were closed as a result of incorrect installation or use of the condenser unit of the air conditioning systems and the electricity consumption increased because the desired amount of air passage could not be achieved. Within the scope of this study, the authors examined the cost of electricity consumed by the air conditioning system in case of incorrect installation or use for 12 different countries. As a result of the analysis made for Turkey, the cost of electricity consumption as a result of incorrect installation practices of the air conditioning system caused an annual cost of approximately 56-62.78$ more than the electricity consumption cost of the reference system.

GLOBAL warming , *HUMANITY , *ATTITUDE (Psychology) , *ENVIRONMENTAL responsibility , *CRONBACH'S alpha , *CONFIRMATORY factor analysis , *STUDENT teachers , *TEACHER attitudes - Abstract
Global warming is one of the most important problems facing humanity. It is very important to reveal the attitudes of future teachers towards this problem and what they can do about it, because educators have great responsibilities in raising future generations as individuals sensitive to environmental problems. In this context, the data collection tool developed by Herman (2014) and originally called "Global Warming Science Attitudes and Actions Survey" was adapted into Turkish. In the adaptation of the survey, which includes three different scales, it was attempted to ensure language validity by taking into account the expert opinions. Then, confirmatory factor analyses were applied separately for each scale forming the survey. In the study conducted, with a total of 647 pre-service teachers, a single-factor structure emerged for the first and second scale. In the analyses made for the third scale of the survey, it was seen that the original structure was preserved and it had a five-factor structure. The Cronbach alpha values calculated for the scales that make up the survey are .85 for the first scale and .73 for the second scale. For the third scale, these values ranged from .50 to .71, and the composite reliability values are also presented. It is possible to say that the obtained data collection tool is valid and reliable in determining the attitudes of pre-service teachers towards global warming and their views on taking action. ARCHITECTURAL design , *SUSTAINABILITY , *DESIGN services , *POPULATION aging ,DEVELOPING countries - Abstract
In recent years, various design approaches have come to the fore in design environments that aim to take into account the diversity of human abilities and conditions in the design process. One of these approaches is inclusive architectural design. In this research article, it is aimed to reveal the importance of designing by considering the current conditions and the possibility of change in the future in architectural design, and to include as many people as possible in the design. In this context, inclusive architectural design is suggested for the sustainability of architectural design in the light of changing environmental and ecological strategies, and within the scope of combating problems that arise in the process such as global warming and climate change. It is questioned how inclusive architectural design should be, the design practices that it responds to needs, what is necessary to ensure the sustainability of human and nature harmony. Inclusive architectural design examples have not yet been included in architectural research in Turkey. Therefore, in this article, a model proposal has been developed for our country by researching inclusive architectural design decisions. In conclusion, inclusive design has the potential to help address the challenges of our diverse and aging society in a sustainable way, by offering a variety of spatial attributes and opportunities for use, along with specific certification systems.

CLIMATE change , *FICTION genres , *GLOBAL warming , *SCIENCE fiction , *DYSTOPIAS , *COMPARATIVE method , *INFERENCE (Logic) - Abstract
Climate fiction novels, especially since the second half of the 20th century, have been defined as a genre as well as being evaluated within genres such as science fiction and dystopia. Climate fiction has important potential to raise awareness of climate change, to convey the devastating effects of global warming and changes that we are not aware of. The study has primarily focused on what climate fiction means as a concept, its relationship with other genres, its boundaries and diversity, and examined Kurbağa Adası and Köpekli Çocuklar Gecesi with comparative method, based on the themes attributed to this genre. Climate fiction works make inferences for the near future while revealing the consequences of climate change and global warming. While Kurbağa Adası by Selim Erdogan draws attention to the subject with reference to Istanbul, Oya Baydar performs the same function on a global scale in Köpekli Çocuklar Gecesi. The fact that the works were written in 2019 is a sign that they look from the same perspective. Our aim is to explore how climate change is framed in these novels, to explore themes that provide templates for describing climate change as a lived experience, to identify and understand the expectations underlying future scenarios.
