The correlation between the magnetic properties, the particle morphology and the degrees of Co-Sn substitution of Ba - ferrite particles are studied lt was shown that BaFe12-2x(CoSn)XO19 Particles with X=l. 10-1.40 have not only suitable magnetic characteristics for magnetic recording, but also a very low temperature coefficient of coercivity [1]. The effective magnetocrystalline anisotropy constant Kj has been determined as a function of X by the law of approach to saturation. The number of Iron ions at each of the crystallogra -phic sites as a function of X has been inferred from the Mossbauer spectra. The contribution to the anisotropy from each site have calculated on the basis of the single-ion model and compared to the experimental results.
