In order to investigate the effect of porosity on the comprehensive performance of bioactive coatings， a TiO2 coating was prepared on the surface of TA2 pure titanium using micro-arc oxidation.By varying the concentrations of Na2B4O7 and NaOH in the electrolyte， the effects of electrolyte composition on the phase composition， microstructure， hardness， thickness and hydrophilicity of the micro-arc oxidation coating were examined under constant current mode.Results showed that the coating phase was primarily rutile TiO2.The phase composition， morphology， thickness， hardness and wear resistance of the coating were significantly affected by the concentrations of sodium hydroxide and sodium tetraborate.Moderate addition of NaOH can enhance the thickness， porosity， hardness， wear resistance and corrosion resistance of the coating.However， when the concentration of sodium hydroxide was too high， porosity decreased and coating performance was reduced.When the electrolyte formula was 0.15 mol/L NaOH and 0.10 mol/L Na2B4O7， a porous coating with a "trabecular bone-like" structure was prepared， exhibiting high porosity and good comprehensive performance.

Context The use of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) for breast cancer patients inhibits tumor cell growth and proliferation, alleviates adverse reactions, and inhibits tumor recurrence and metastasis post-surgery. An assessment of its historical efficacy and an examination of the latest research trends are imperative to thoroughly leverage the potential of TCM for breast cancer treatment.Objective This study analyzes the published literature on TCM for breast cancer treatment using bibliometric analysis to determine the current state, identify hot spots, and discern trends, providing insight into research in this field.Methods TCM-based breast cancer treatment publications between 2003 and 2022 were retrieved from the Web of Science, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang, and Duxiu databases. Visual analysis was performed using VOSviewer (V1.6.19) and CiteSpace (V6.3.R1) software. Examined metrics included the annual publication count, literature and journal, national and institutional contributions, author co-occurrence, keyword co-occurrence, keywords timeline, and keywords with citation bursts in this research field.Results and conclusion A total of 1080 English publications and 2617 Chinese publications were included in the analysis. China was the leading contributor of publications. High-frequency keywords such as ‘apoptosis’, ‘expression’, ‘in vivo’, ‘chemotherapy’, ‘triple-negative breast cancer’, and ‘lymphedema’ were identified from English and Chinese publications; ‘epithelial mesenchymal transition’ and ‘network pharmacology’ emerged as hotspots. The development of modern science, technology, and in-depth research can result in broader prospects for the research and application of TCM in breast cancer treatment, resulting in more effective solutions for the treatment of breast cancer and other malignant tumors.

Three newly discovered Melanogaster species, namely M. cyaneus, M. diqingensis, and M. truncatisporus, are introduced and illustrated based on both morphological and molecular data from Sichuan and Yunnan provinces in China. A multigene phylogenetic analysis (nrITS, nrLSU, and rpb2) was performed mainly to verify the placement of the new species in Melanogaster. A second, nrITS-only phylogenetic analysis comprising more Melanogaster species for which only ITS sequences were available, was used to infer the relationship between the new species and as many known Melanogaster species as possible. Specimens of M. cyaneus, M. diqingensis, and M. truncatisporus formed three independent clades in a phylogenetic tree inferred from the ITS data set. The robust support from ITS for these clades and genetic similarity with other species being lower than 93.2% suggest that these three species are indeed distinct from the other Melanogaster species in the phylogeny. Morphologically, M. cyaneus is characterized by its blue or bluish gleba, light brown to yellowish brown peridium, and subglobose to globose basidiospores, 6.2–15 × 4.6–9.0 μm. Melanogaster diqingensis is distinguished from other Melanogaster species by its pale yellow to brown-yellow peridium and obovate to subglobose basidiospores, 3.0–5.1 × 2.0–4.0 μm. Melanogaster truncatisporus is diagnosed by its subglobose to globose or irregularly elongate-pyriform basidiomata, pale yellow to deeply orange-yellow peridium, and subglobose to globose or pyriform, truncate basidiospores. Additionally, infrageneric classification based on the number of peridium layers, the average thickness of the peridium, and the average length and width of basidiospores was tested with M. cyaneus, M. diqingensis, and M. truncatisporus. Orthogonal partial least squares discriminant (OPLS-DA) analysis placed the three new species within the Melanogaster, Rivulares, and Variegati sections, respectively. However, the morphologically circumscribed sections were not monophyletic in the phylogenetic tree. Therefore, the current infrageneric classification should be abandoned.

Abstract Rice seeds of different varieties exhibited distinct metabolic profiles in our study. We analyzed the metabolites in seeds of six rice varieties (CH, HM, NX, YX, HY, and MX) using non-targeted GC–MS. Our findings revealed that amino acids, sugars, and organic acids were predominant in all varieties, with significant differences observed in CH compared to the others. Specifically phenylalanine and glycine content differed notably in NX and YX, respectively. Additionally, 1,5-anhydroglucitol content in NX, and glutamate, aspartate, and lactulose in NX, YX, HM, HY, and MX were up-regulated. Due to the biological functions of these amino acids and sugars, these indicated that compared to CH, rice of NX were more conducive to metabolism of carbohydrate and fat, and healthy growth maintenance in the human body, but mightThese variations suggest that NX rice may be more beneficial for carbohydrate and fat metabolism and overall health maintenance compared to CH. However, it may not be suitable for diabetic patients. YX rice may not be an ideal glycine supplement, rice ofwhile HM, HY, and MX rice could serve as potential lactulose sources. Furthermore, NX and YX rice exhibited higher levels of main storage proteins compared to CH. This study offers valuable insights into the metabolic differences among various rice varieties.

BackgroundTo identify the cognitive load of different turning tasks in simulated flight, a flight experiment was designed based on real “preliminary screening” training modules for pilots.MethodsHeart Rate Variability (HRV) and flight data were collected during the experiments using a flight simulator and a heart rate sensor bracelet. The turning behaviors in flight were classified into climbing turns, descending turns, and level flight turns. A recognition model for the cognitive load associated with these turning behaviors was developed using machine learning and deep learning algorithms.Resultspnni_20, range_nni, rmssd, sdsd, nni_20, sd1, triangular_index indicators are negatively correlated with different turning load. The LSTM-Attention model excelled in recognizing turning tasks with varying cognitive load, achieving an F1 score of 0.9491.ConclusionSpecific HRV characteristics can be used to analyze cognitive load in different turn-ing tasks, and the LSTM-Attention model can provide references for future studies on the selection characteristics of pilot cognitive load, and offer guidance for pilot training, thus having significant implications for pilot training and flight safety.

Abstract Three‐dimensional (3D) echocardiography is an emerging technique for assessing right ventricular (RV) volume and function, but 3D‐RV normal values from a large Chinese population are still lacking. The aim of the present study was to establish normal values of 3D‐RV volume and function in healthy Chinese volunteers. A total of 1117 Han Chinese volunteers from 28 laboratories in 20 provinces of China were enrolled, and 3D‐RV images of 747 volunteers with optimal image quality were ultimately analyzed by a core laboratory. Both vendor‐dependent and vendor‐independent software platforms were used to analyze the 3D‐RV images. We found that men had larger RV volumes than women did in the whole population, even after indexing to body surface area, and older individuals had smaller RV volumes. The normal RV volume was significantly smaller than that recommended by the American Society of Echocardiography/European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging guidelines in both sexes. There were significant differences in 3D‐RV measurements between the two vendor ultrasound systems and the different software platforms. The echocardiographic measurements in normal Chinese adults II study revealed normal 3D‐RV volume and function in a large Chinese population, and there were significant differences between the sexes, ages, races, and vendor groups. Thus, normal 3D‐RV values should be stratified by sex, age, race, and vendor.

During the service of asphalt pavement, it is affected by natural environmental factors for a long time, and the pavement performance declined. In order to simulate the cumulative effects of multiple aging components, the indoor ''ultraviolet radiation, high temperature and water'' multi-factor cyclic coupling aging test was designed. The properties of asphalt during cyclic coupled aging were measured by conventional physical properties tests, photoelectric colorimetric tests, and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy test. Then the surface morphology of asphalt was observed by camera and optical microscope. After asphalt aged, a large number of oxidation functional groups were formed, causing asphalt to become hard and brittle, adhesion to diminish, and surface roughness to increase. Ultraviolet light and high temperatures led to the exudation and dissolution of the liquid constituents within the asphalt, which were subsequently washed away by water. The thermal stress induced the shrinkage and wrinkle of the asphalt film, resulting in the formation of cracks. Under high temperatures, a limited number of cracks could potentially self-repair during the early stages of aging. Nevertheless, as the aging process progressed, the self-healing capacity of the asphalt diminished, leading to the widening and deepening of cracks. Concurrently, water infiltrated along the cracks into the inner layers of the asphalt, exacerbating the degradation of its properties.

China has been continuously improving its monitoring methods and strategies to address key infectious diseases (KIDs). After the severe acute respiratory syndrome epidemic in 2003, China established a comprehensive reporting system for infectious diseases (IDs) and public health emergencies. The relatively lagging warning thresholds, limited warning information, and outdated warning technology are insufficient to meet the needs of comprehensive monitoring for modern KIDs. Strengthening early monitoring and warning capabilities to enhance the public health system has become a top priority, with increasing demand for early warning thresholds, information, and techniques, thanks to constant innovation and development in molecular biology, bioinformatics, artificial intelligence, and other identification and analysis technologies. A panel of 31 experts has recommended a fourth-generation comprehensive surveillance system targeting KIDs (41 notifiable diseases and emerging IDs). The aim of this surveillance system is to systematically monitor the epidemiology and causal pathogens of KIDs in hosts such as humans, animals, and vectors, along with associated environmental pathogens. By integrating factors influencing epidemic spread and risk assessment, the surveillance system can serve to detect, predict, and provide early warnings for the occurrence, development, variation, and spread of known or novel KIDs. Moreover, we recommend comprehensive ID monitoring based on the fourth-generation surveillance system, along with a data-integrated monitoring and early warning platform and a consortium pathogen detection technology system. This series of considerations is based on systematic and comprehensive monitoring across multiple sectors, dimensions, factors, and pathogens that is supported by data integration and connectivity. This expert consensus will provides an opportunity for collaboration in various fields and relies on interdisciplinary application to enhance comprehensive monitoring, prediction, and early warning capabilities for the next generation of ID surveillance. This expert consensus will serve as a reference for ID prevention and control as well as other related activities.

Purpose: Determining the impact of air gap errors on the skin dose in postoperative breast cancer radiotherapy under dynamic intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) techniques. Methods: This was a retrospective study that involved 55 patients who underwent postoperative radiotherapy following modified radical mastectomy. All plans employed tangential IMRT, with a prescription dose of 50 Gy, and bolus added solely to the chest wall. Simulated air gap depth errors of 2 mm, 3 mm, and 5 mm were introduced at depression or inframammary fold areas on the skin, resulting in the creation of air gaps named Air2, Air3, and Air5. Utilizing a multivariable GEE, the average dose ( D mean ) of the local skin was determined to evaluate its relationship with air gap volume and the lateral beam's average angle (AALB). Additionally, an analysis was conducted on the impact of gaps on local skin. Purpose: To evaluate the dosimetric effects of intrafraction baseline shifts combined with rotational errors on Four-dimensional computed tomography-guided stereotactic body radiotherapy for multiple liver metastases (MLMs). Methods: A total of 10 patients with MLM (2 or 3 lesions) were selected for this retrospective study. Baseline shift errors of 0.5, 1.0, and 2.0 mm; and rotational errors of 0.5°, 1°, and 1.5°, were simulated about all axes. All of the baseline shifts and rotation errors were simulated around the planned isocenter using a matrix transformation of 6° of freedom. The coverage degradation of baseline shifts and rotational errors were analyzed according to the dose to 95% of the planning target volume (D95) and the volume covered by 95% of the prescribed dose (V95), and related changes in gross tumor volume were also analyzed. Results: At the rotation error of 0.5° and the baseline offset of less than 0.5 mm, the D95 and V95 values of all targets were >95%. For rotational errors of 1.0° (combined with all baseline shift errors), 36.3% of targets had D95 and V95 values of 95% for about 77.3% of the targets. Only 11.4% of the D95 and V95 values were >95% when the baseline shift errors were increased to 2.0 mm. When the rotational error was increased to 1.5° and baseline shift errors increased to 1.0 mm, the D95 and V95 values were >95% in only 3 cases. Conclusions: The multivariate regression model analysis in this study showed that the coverage of the target decreased further with reduced target volume, increasing the baseline drift, the rotation error, and the distance to the target.

Abstract Objective The aim of this study was to investigate the clinical, imaging and pathological features of extraskeletal osteosarcoma (EOS) and to improve the understanding of this disease and other similar lesions. Methods The data for 11 patients with pathologically confirmed extraosseous osteosarcoma, including tumour site and size and imaging and clinical manifestations, were analysed retrospectively. Results Six patients were male (60%), and 5 were female (40%); patient age ranged from 23 to 76 years (average age 47.1 years). Among the 11 patients, 7 had clear calcifications or ossification with different morphologies, and 2 patients showed a massive mature bone tumour. MRI showed a mixed-signal mass with slightly longer T1 and T2 signals in the tumour parenchyma. Enhanced CT and MRI scans showed enhancement in the parenchyma. Ten patients had different degrees of necrosis and cystic degeneration in the mass, 2 of whom were complicated with haemorrhage, and MRI showed “fluid‒fluid level” signs. Of the 11 patients, five patients survived after surgery, and no obvious recurrence or metastasis was found on imaging examination. One patient died of lung metastasis after surgery, and 2 patients with open biopsy died of disease progression. One patient died of respiratory failure 2 months after operation. 2 patients had positive surgical margins, and 1 had lung metastasis 6 months after operation and died 19 months after operation. Another patient had recurrence 2 months after surgery. Conclusion The diagnosis of EOS requires a combination of clinical, imaging and histological examinations. Cystic degeneration and necrosis; mineralization is common, especially thick and lumpy mineralization. Extended resection is still the first choice for localized lesions. For patients with positive surgical margins or metastases, adjuvant chemoradiotherapy is needed.

PURPOSE: Through three neurocritical care unit (NCCU) surveys in China, we tried to understand the development status of neurocritical care and clarify its future development. METHODS: Using a cross-sectional survey method and self-report questionnaires, the number and quality of NCCUs were investigated through three steps: administering the questionnaire, sorting the survey data, and analyzing the survey data. RESULTS: At the second and third surveys, the number of NCCUs (76/112/206) increased by 47% and 84%, respectively. The NCCUs were located in tertiary grade A hospitals or teaching hospitals (65/100/181) in most provinces (24/28/29). The numbers of full-time doctors (359/668/1337) and full-time nurses (904/1623/207) in the NCCUs increased, but the doctor–bed ratio and nurse–bed ratio were still insufficient (0.4:1 and 1.3:1). CONCLUSION: In the past 20 years, the growth rate of NCCUs in China has accelerated, while the allocation of medical staff has been insufficient. Although most NCCU hospital bed facilities and instruments and equipment tend to be adequate, there are obvious defects in some aspects of NCCUs.

AbstractSemiothisa cinerearia Bremer & Grey, 1853 belongs to the lepidopteran family Geometridae, subfamily Ennominae. We sequenced the complete mitochondrial genome of S. cinerearia by PCR and Sanger sequencing method. The mitochondrial genome of S. cinerearia is 15,523 bp in length and contains a typical set of 37 genes with ‘MIQ’ type gene arrangement and a 394 bp AT-rich regions. Except for cox1 using CGA as initiation codon, all protein-coding genes (PCGs) start with ATN codons and except for nad2 and nad4l using TAG as termination codon, all PCGs terminated with TAA codon. A phylogenetic tree including 39 genus of subfamily Ennominae was first reconstructed based on the mitochondrial genome sequences with nucleotide substitution model GTR + G + I, which showed that the genera Amraica, Jankowskia, and Ectropis are not monophyletic and S. cinerearia and Macaria notata are classified together.

Solar photovoltaics is a direct use of solar resources to generate electricity, which is one of the most important renewable energy application approaches. Regional PV output could be affected by the regional patterns of temperature and irradiance, which are impacted by climate change. This study examines the impact of climate change on the energy yields from solar PV across China in the future under the medium-emission scenario (SSP245) and high-emission scenario (SSP585) by calculating PV potential using the data of solar radiation on a tilted surface and temperature. Generally, under the SSP245 scenario, solar radiation increased by 0.8% and 2.15%, and PV energy yields increased by 0.28% and 1.21% in 2020–2060 and 2061–2099, respectively; under the SSP585 scenario, solar radiation increased by 0.73% and 1.35%, and PV energy yields increased by 0.04% and −1.21% in 2020–2060 and 2061–2099, respectively. Under both scenarios, PV energy potential showed an obvious increase in southeast and central China and a significant decrease in northwest China, Tibet, and Inner Mongolia. Therefore, it is suggested that under the medium-emission scenario, climate change could increase the PV energy potential, while under the high-emission scenario, it could inhibit the PV energy potential in China.

The early-age cracking sensitivity of cement-based materials containing alkalis with different metal ions (Na+ and K+) is investigated. The results indicate that alkalis containing both Na+ and K+ can promote the early cracking sensitivity of cement-based materials, in which K+ having a higher promoting effect than Na+. By exploring the shrinkage properties, hydration process, pore structure and micromechanics, the mechanism of the cracking performance of cement-based materials containing alkalis with different metal ions are revealed. According to the experimental results and the analysis of mechanism, alkali enhances the cracking sensitivity of cement-based materials by increasing their shrinkage rate, promoting hydration process, and refining pore structure. But the improvement of cracking sensitivity of cement-based materials containing alkalis with Na+ or K+ is related to cohesive force and structure of calcium silicate hydrates clusters.

Aims:This study aimed to synthesize the evidence of the comparative effectiveness and safety of Ophiocordyceps sinensis (OS) preparations combined with renin–angiotensin system inhibitors (RASi) for diabetic kidney disease (DKD).Methods:Eight databases were searched from their inception to May 2023. Systematic reviews (SRs) of OS preparations combined with RASi for DKD were identified. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) from the included SRs and additional searching were performed for data pooling. Cochrane risk-of-bias 2 (RoB 2) tool and AMSTAR 2 were used to evaluate the methodological quality of RCTs and SRs, respectively. A Bayesian network meta-analysis was performed to compare the add-on effect and safety of OS preparations for DKD. The certainty of evidence was graded using the Grading of Recommendations, Assessment, Development, and Evaluation (GRADE) approach.Results:Fourteen SRs were included, whose methodological quality was assessed as high (1/14) or critically low (13/14). After combining additional searching, 157 RCTs were included, involving 13,143 participants. The quality of the RCTs showed some concerns (155/157) or high risk (2/157). Jinshuibao capsules and tablets, Bailing capsules and tablets, and Zhiling capsules were evaluated. Compared to RASi, adding either of the OS capsular preparations resulted in a decreased 24-h urinary total protein levels. OS preparations ranked differently in each outcome. Jinshuibao capsules plus RASi were beneficial in reducing urinary protein, serum creatinine, serum urea nitrogen, and blood glucose levels, with moderate-certainty evidence. No serious adverse events were observed after adding OS to RASi.Conclusion:Combining OS capsular preparations with RASi appeared to be associated with decreased urinary total protein levels in DKD patients. In recent years, the centrifugal casting material Cr35Ni45Nb has been widely used in cracking furnace tubes. The common failure forms in the service process are carburizing cracking, bending, bulging, creep cracking, thermal fatigue cracking, thermal shock cracking, and oxidation, among which the inner wall oxidation and carburization of cracking furnace tubes cause the largest proportion of material failure. In this paper, we will discuss the inner wall oxidation behavior of cracking furnace tubes and its influence on the lasting strength of the furnace tubes. Several groups of endurance tests were designed for service furnace tubes, and the oxidation characteristics, oxide film rupture damage, and its influence on the endurance life of furnace tubes in different service times were analyzed by means of XRD, SEM, and so on. The results show that the oxide layer of the furnace tube is divided into two layers, the outer layer is repeatedly destroyed and rebuilt. With the continuous evolution of material structure, its properties also deteriorate, and its tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, and durable life all decrease significantly.

When a fire occurs in an underground shield tunnel, it can result in substantial property damage and cause permanent harm to the tunnel lining structure. This is especially true for large-diameter shield tunnels that have numerous segments and joints, and are exposed to specific fire conditions in certain areas. This paper constructs a full-scale shield tunnel fire test platform and conducts a non-uniform fire test using the lining system of a three-ring large-diameter shield tunnel with an inner diameter of 10.5 m. Based on the tests, the temperature field distribution, high-temperature bursting, cracking phenomena, and deformation under fire conditions are observed. Furthermore, the post-fire damage forms of tunnel lining structures are obtained through the post-fire ultimate loading test, and the corresponding mechanism is explained. The test results illustrate that the radial and circumferential distribution of internal temperature within the tunnel lining, as well as the radial temperature gradient distribution on the inner surface of the lining, have non-uniform distribution characteristics. As a result, the macroscopic phenomena of lining concrete bursting and crack development during the fire test mainly occur near the fire source, where the temperature rise gradient is the highest. In addition, the lining structure has a deformation characteristic of local outward expansion and cannot recover after the fire load is removed. The ultimate form of damage after the fire is dominated by crush damage from the inside out of the lining joints in the fire-exposed area. The above results serve as a foundation for future tunnel fire safety design and evaluation.

Abstract Cracking furnaces, operating under high temperatures and in a hydrocarbon medium, subject their tubes to complex stresses such as internal pressure, self-weight, fatigue, and thermal shock during start-up and shutdown. As a result, these furnace tubes frequently experience failures characterized by cracks and corrosion perforation. The high-temperature environment, constantly evolving structure of the tubes, and the close arrangement of the cracks within the tube box hinder detecting the cracks using conventional single-detection methods is challenging. This paper breaks through the limitations of the traditional single detection method and studies the effectiveness of the combination of ultrasonic-guided wave and low-frequency electromagnetic detection methods. The experiment was carried out by deliberately making cracks and thinning defects caused by corrosion on the cracking furnace tube of Cr35Ni45Nb after two years of service. The experimental results show that the ultrasonic guided wave detection technology can quickly detect the defects running through the whole furnace tube and effectively identify the manufacturing defects. On the other hand, low-frequency electromagnetic detection makes it possible to scan suspicious local defects and make qualitative and quantitative analyses of defect signals. The combination of ultrasonic guided wave and low-frequency electromagnetic detection can realize the rapid location and comprehensive qualitative and quantitative analysis of furnace tube defects, thus making up for the defects missed detection caused by the lack of effectiveness of single detection and the resulting safety problems. The research results have great popularization value in practical engineering applications.

Multi-carrier modulation technology is an advanced modulation method commonly used in broadband communication systems. However, multi-carrier signals will produce a very large Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) in the time domain, which will lead to non-linear damage and seriously affects the performance of system. In this paper, a joint PAPR reduction technology enabled by neural network-based coding and companding is proposed. The frequency-domain coding is implemented by a fully connected layer, which greatly reduces the complexity and difficulty of network training. A small proportion of spread spectrum is introduced to provide coding gain, and the time-domain companding network uses a nonlinear convolutional neural network to reduce PAPR. The effect of the scheme is shown through simulation under various parameter conditions, and compared with various schemes. The simulation results show that the scheme can reduce PAPR by 5 dB while introducing rare distortion. Finally, the scheme is experimentally verified. The experimental results show that the Bit Error Ratio (BER) is reduced by 75% compared with the clipping scheme when the PAPR is reduced by 5 dB, which verifies the feasibility of the scheme.

Reducing agricultural carbon emissions is important to enable carbon emission peaking by 2030 in China. However, China's transformation towards large-scale farming brings uncertainties to carbon emission reduction. This study quantifies the carbon emissions from cropping based on life cycle assessment and estimates the effects of farm size on carbon emissions using a fixed effects model. Furthermore, the variations of the carbon emissions from cropping driven by the changes in farm size in future years are projected through scenario analysis. Results demonstrate an inverted U-shaped change in total carbon emission from cropping as farm size increases, which is dominated by the changes in the carbon emission from fertilizer. Projections illustrate that large-scale farming transformation will postpone the peak year of total carbon emission from cropping until 2048 if the change in farm size follows a historical trend, although it is conducive to reducing total carbon emission in the long run. The findings indicate that environmental regulations to reduce fertilizer usages should be strengthened for carbon emission abatement in the early stage of large-scale farming transformation, which are also informative to other developing countries with small farm size.

Abstract Background Both closed platform and open platform robotic-assisted total hip arthroplasty (THA) have recently been recommended as a viable treatment option for achieving accurate positioning of components. Yet, limited studies paid attention to the differences between the closed platform robotic system and the open platform robotic system. Hence, this study aimed to investigate clinical outcomes, radiographic outcomes, complication rates and learning curve of two systems. Materials and methods We retrospectively included 62 patients (31 closed robotic system and 31 open robotic system) who underwent THA between February 2021 and January 2023. The demographics, operating time, cup positioning, complications and hip Harris score were evaluated. Learning curves of operation time was conducted using cumulative sum (CUSUM) analysis. Results There were no differences in surgical time (76.7 ± 12.1 min vs. 72.3 ± 14.8 min), estimated blood loss (223.2 ± 13.2 ml vs. 216.9 ± 17 ml) and Harris Hip score (HHS) between closed platform robotic system and the open platform robotic system. The closed robotic system and the open robotic system were associated with a learning curve of 9 cases and 7 cases for surgical time respectively, based on the satisfying rate of Lewinnek’s safe zone outliers (1/31, 96.8%) and no occurrence of complication. Both robotic systems had significant reduction in overall surgical time, the duration of acetabulum registration, and estimated blood loss between learning phase and proficiency phase. Conclusion The authors suggest that the surgical outcomes and safe zone outlier rate of the open robotic-assisted THA were similar to those of the closed robotic-assisted THA. These two robotic-assisted are associated with comparable learning curves and both have the precise positioning of acetabular component. From learning phase to proficiency phase, the rate of positions within the safe zone differed only marginally (88.9–100% vs. 85.7–100%) based on a rather low number of patients. This is not a statistically significant difference. Therefore, we suggest that THA undergoing with the robotic-assisted system is the relatively useful way to achieve planned acetabular cup position so far.

The optical properties of an off-axis integrated cavity system are influenced by both structural deformation and thermal deformation. In this paper, the finite element simulation and analysis software COMSOL multiphysics was used to numerically simulate the optical system. By coupling geometric optics, solid mechanics, and solid heat transfer and conducting parametric temperature scanning, a multiphysics simulation of the off-axis integrated cavity optical sensing system was achieved. The effects of different temperature conditions on the stress field, displacement field, and optical mirrors were analyzed, and changes in optical properties were assessed using ray trajectories and point diagrams. Additionally, optical simulation software was used to simulate and optimize the experimental optical path, obtaining the distribution of light spots on the detector surface. This provides a theoretical basis for the subsequent optimization of the off-axis integrated cavity optical system.

The photoelectrochemical (PEC) conversion of organic small molecules offers a dual benefit of synthesizing value-added chemicals and concurrently producing hydrogen (H2). Ethylene glycol, with its dual hydroxyl groups, stands out as a versatile organic substrate capable of yielding various C1 and C2 chemicals. In this study, we demonstrate that pH modulation markedly enhances the photocurrent of BiVO4 photoanodes, thus facilitating the efficient oxidation of ethylene glycol while simultaneously generating H2. Our findings reveal that in a pH = 1 ethylene glycol solution, the photocurrent density at 1.23 V vs. RHE can attain an impressive 7.1 mA cm−2, significantly surpassing the outputs in neutral and highly alkaline environments. The increase in photocurrent is attributed to the augmented adsorption of ethylene glycol on BiVO4 under acidic conditions, which in turn elevates the activity of the oxidation reaction, culminating in the maximal production of formic acid. This investigation sheds light on the pivotal role of electrolyte pH in the PEC oxidation process and underscores the potential of the PEC strategy for biomass valorization into value-added products alongside H2 fuel generation.
