The golden ink of Islamic civilization which has long dominated the world certainly makes Islam a phenomenon worthy of study throughout the world, especially by people outside of Islam. Westerners in particular. They research, conduct studies, and make Islam an object of study in their world of education. Moreover, it is supported by the methodological advantages they have. .With this background, the author wants to examine in depth related to Islamic studies in the Western world, especially in the academic world. Hopefully it can provide overall benefits. From this background, several problems can be formulated to be examined in this paper, including: What is the essence of Islamic studies? How is the history of Islam?studies in the Western world? From the presentation of Islamic studies in the West in the academic world that has been mentioned in the previous chapter, it can be concluded that: (1) Islamic studies are an attempt to know and understand and discuss in depth the ins and outs of matters relating to Islam from various aspects. By holding Islamic Studies, it is hoped that it will be able to increase the understanding and appreciation of Muslims wherever they are; (2) Islamic studies when viewed from a research perspective, can be grouped into two, insiders and outsiders. Islamic studies by Muslims themselves in classical times tended to use a continuous pattern from generation to generation. The pattern has shifted in the present, which tends to become a pattern critical. While the perspective of outsiders, Islamic studies are critical in various aspects because they are based on an attitude of self-defense against the beliefs that they believe in so far; (3) The history of Islamic studies in the Western academic world has existed for a long time. That long history is broken down into three according to the aims and content of Islamic studies. The three stages include: the theological stage, the political stage and the scientific stage; (4) It can be seen the condition of Islamic studies in the Western academic world from the proliferation of centers for Islamic studies in various countries, both in America and Europe. Many Islamic study centers have sprung up in the United States, Chicago, Holland, Germany, London and so on.

The term “Sulthan” is one of the Musytarak words (words with several meanings) found in the Qur'an. The term "Sulthan" has a wide range of connotations that must be understood since it does not always refer to a leader; it may also refer to a dispute or other meanings depending on the context of the phrase. Following that, the purpose of this research is to determine the meaning of the word "Sulthan" using a semantic method. A qualitative approach was taken. The Qur'an, Mu'jam al-Mufahras li alfaz Al-Qur’an, Tafsir textbooks (commentary books), pertinent publications, and articles with a substantial link to the study's topic were all used as data sources. Reading served as the primary and secondary data sources for data gathering. The Qur'an was thoroughly read to find the word "Sulthan." In the meantime, Mu'jam al-Mufahras li alfaz Al-Qur’an, tafsir textbooks (commentary books), relevant books, and articles were used to discover the meaning of "Sulthan" based on the notions of expert interpreters (Mufassir) and credible linguists. Henceforth, the results were examined and validated using a comparison approach, specifically comparing the thoughts of experts (Mufassir and linguists) on the definition of "Sulthan." Concerning a semantic analysis comparison of expert thoughts, the research revealed the true meaning of the word "Sulthan." The results reveal that the term "Sulthan" appears in 37 verses of the Qur'an. Therefore, the definition of "Sulthan" in 37 verses of the Qur'an can be divided into four meaning sections: 1) Sulthan is an argument or evidence; 2) Sulthan is a miracle; 3) Sulthan is power or capabilities; and 4) Sulthan is leadership. This analysis has limitations in terms of in-depth investigation based on the opinions of certain specialists. Harmony between religious communities is everyone's dream, but living in a plural society is very difficult to avoid conflict. Therefore, this research is presented in order to provide views related to the concept of knitting harmony between religious communities through linguistics and local wisdom. This study aims to identify and describe the role of linguistic concepts and local wisdom in knitting inter-religious harmony at Tana Toraja land with a phenomenological approach. This research is a qualitative research with observation and interview methods. Data obtained from interviews with Tana Toraja speakers by voice recording and field note-taking. In addition, the researcher was assisted by the experience of the informants by using the reflective-introspective method. The results of the study show that (1) the linguistic concept can prevent misunderstandings, violence, fanaticism, be sensitive and be able to make inter-religious people aware of the grace of diversity at Tana Toraja land so as to create humanist communication. (2) the role of local wisdom can build solidarity, togetherness, harmonious relations, and religious awareness in a plural society so as to create peaceful social relations. The role of linguisitics and local wisdom can make Tana Toraja societies have harmony relation with others without see the status (race, ethnic, religion, and so on). AbstrakKerukunan antar umat beragama merupakan dambaan setiap orang, namun hidup dalam masyarakat majemuk sangat sulit untuk menghindari konflik. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini dihadirkan untuk memberikan pandangan terkait konsep merajut kerukunan antar umat beragama melalui linguistik dan kearifan lokal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan mendeskripsikan peran konsep linguistik dan kearifan lokal dalam merajut kerukunan antar umat beragama di tanah Tana Toraja dengan pendekatan fenomenologis. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan metode observasi dan wawancara. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara dengan masyarakat Tana Toraja dilengkapai dengan teknik rekam dan catat. Selain itu, peneliti dibantu oleh pengalaman informan dengan menggunakan metode reflektif-introspektif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) konsep kebahasaan dapat mencegah terjadinya kesalahpahaman, kekerasan, fanatisme, peka dan mampu menyadarkan umat antar umat beragama akan anugerah keberagaman di tanah Tana Toraja sehingga tercipta komunikasi yang humanis. (2) peran kearifan lokal dapat membangun solidaritas, kebersamaan, hubungan yang harmonis, dan kesadaran beragama dalam masyarakat majemuk sehingga tercipta hubungan sosial yang damai. Peran linguistik dan kearifan lokal dapat membuat masyarakat Tana Toraja memiliki hubungan yang harmonis dengan orang lain tanpa melihat status (ras, suku, agama, dan sebagainya).

The vision and mission of Islamic education in the hadith are not only as slogans or as decorations and school wall displays, but really must be used as the basis for bringing the educational institution towards improvement accompanied by innovations in it. The very basic goal of Islamic education is to create human beings to become true servants of Allah. That is to make his whole life devoted only to Allah SWT. Besides that, the purpose of Islamic education is to create a balanced life between the life of the world and the hereafter. Islamic education also aims to develop human potential to become a perfect human being (insan kamil).

The use of the LMS is expanding and progressing in accordance with the digital learning procedure that has been going on for more than a year. We as teachers face the problem of Arabic learning platform. Amidst the various LMS available, the Padlet platform provides the most advantage, hence an engaging, expressive, and unique learning approach. This study illustrates that this Padlet is very suitable for use in LMS Arabic Language Learning in Higher Education because the Padlet has Complete Features, starting from preparation, the learning process to evaluation, everything is in the Padlet which is easily accessible so that learning is planned and the results are maximized.

The ultimate goal of learning English is that students can easily grasp every material being taught. Especially in learning vocabularies, teachers are always looking for the best method to be applied in learning. By offering this PIDIW method, it is expected that it can encourage, arouse students' enthusiasm in learning English, and can create a fun and satisfying quality of learning between teachers and students in class. Seeing how important it is for students to understand and enjoy learning English in class, the authors conducted a study by developing a learning method that is expected to be used in learning English. This research aims to produce an innovative method called "Picturing by Describing Words". This research seeks to formulate the development of the Picturing By Describing Words learning method or abbreviated as PIDIW which includes: Definition, and Steps for Its Application in learning English. This research is limited only to the following stages: 1. Definition stages. 2. Stages of Formulation and Design. The stages of implementation will be carried out as the next research. Picturing by describing words or abbreviated as PIDIW is a planning learning method that can be used by teachers in learning English. This learning method will encourage students' ability to catch words in English. So that the teacher/instructor can find out the development or the number of English vocabulary owned by each student/learner. This method is also expected to be able to improve students' quick and critical thinking skills to analyze descriptive words and transfer them into a final understanding. This understanding can be in the form of writing or directly conveyed orally (orally). The creation of fun English learning between teachers and students.

Deep learning or what is known as "Immersive Learning" is becoming an issue that is being studied a lot because of the application of technology in the process. The role of technology in this case is utilized to realize deep learning. Immersive Learning is applied by several methods, including online and blended. However, there are not many research articles that explicitly focus on Immersive Learning. Therefore, for the purpose of this review, several academic articles dealing with the specific topic of immersive learning have been selected and studied. Several topics have been searched using keywords related to immersive learning on academic search engines such as Springer, and Google Scholar, as well as on several other reputable academic journal publishing websites. The articles reviewed were sixteen articles published in the last five years. Based on the results of the article review, it can be concluded that immersive learning not only has a negative impact, but also has a positive impact on students' cognitive and affective aspects. Cognitive aspects include understanding and other academic abilities, while affective aspects include self-efficacy, motivation, and student attitudes towards subjects at school. With this review, it is hoped that teachers and educators will pay more attention to the positive and negative effects of this immersive learning process, so that they can optimize the learning outcomes obtained by students from the learning process, especially Natural Science subjects.

This study looked at the possibility of using the mother tongue (MT) as an instructional tool at the elementary level of schooling in India. Many academics have remained intent on using their native languages as a medium of teaching in elementary schools because of the country's multilingual character. This study explained why MT, as an instructional tool, may or may not be successful in the coming years, and many issues that make it impossible to carry out are also discussed. Through a purposeful sampling method, the researcher gathered data from 150 elementary school teachers from government-run and private schools in the western part of Uttar Pradesh, India. To gather data, the researcher needed a well-designed questionnaire consisting of questions in two parts- Part A and Part B. The first part wanted demographic data on respondents. In contrast, the second part focused on the many reasons that encourage or discourage primary school students in India from learning their native language. Alpha, mean, and standard deviation were used to evaluate the data obtained. Using MT as an instructional tool in Indian elementary education, the multilingual character of India, and the unavailability of instructional material and scientific equipment in indigenous languages constitute hindrances.

Arabic language learning, in Indonesia, is commonly addressed to those with Islamic Religion. However, there are several problems associated with learning this language in higher education institutions due to the mandated rule that students can learn it, irrespective of their religion. This research aims to reveal the institution's strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats since the inclusion of the Arabic language in the higher educational institution's curriculum. A qualitative approach was conducted in this research equipped with the data sources of students, lecturers, and policy documents related to the curriculum establishment. The collected data were classified, presented, and interpreted before concluding. The result showed that the institution's strengths are the availability of lecturers with excellent Arabic language competences as well as a language and study center. In addition, by teaching Arabic, it creates more job opportunities for graduates. Meanwhile, the institution's weaknesses are lecturers' language incompetence in certain fields, which vary from different study programs or faculties. Furthermore, due to the location of the four different regencies, students from regencies are unable to utilize the provided facilities. In addition, the institution is faced with the possibility of losing prospective students that do not understand Arabic transcriptions.

Pendidikan alternatif dengan model sekolah rumah (homeschooling) tidak hanya menumbuhkan keinginan belajar secara fleksibel pada anak, namun juga mampu menumbuhkan karakter moral pada anak. Pasalnya, dengan menyerahkan proses belajar sebagai hak anak untuk mendapatkan pendidikan, akan mendorong anak untuk belajar berdisiplin dan bertanggung jawab, terhadap segala kegiatan belajar yang telah dilakukannya.Sistem ini terlebih dahulu berkembang di Amerika Serikat dan beberapa negara lainnya di dunia. Belakang ini banyak orangtua yang tidak puas dengan hasil sekolah formal sehingga menjadikan homeschooling sebagai alternatif proses belajar mengajar dalam perkembangan dunia pendidikan di Indonesia. Kerapkali sekolah formal berorientasi pada nilai rapor (kepentingan sekolah), bukannya mengedepankan keterampilan hidup dan bersosial (nilai-nilai iman dan moral). Selain itu, perhatian secara personal pada anak, kurang diperhatikan.

Pondok pesantren sebagai lembaga pendidikan juga sebagai lembaga pengajaran agama dan sosial keagamaan, mulai dikenal di sepanjang pantai utara Jawa se- perti di Gresik, Surabaya, Tuban, dan sebagainya. Beberapa ciri khas yang dimili- ki oleh pondok pesantren secara umum yang masih dipertahankan sampai se- karang ini adalah kiai, santri, pengajaran kitab Islam klasik, masjid, dan pondok. Sistem pendidikan dan pengajaran di pondok pesantren diklasifikasi menjadi tiga tipe, yaitu pesantren tradisional, pesantren semi modern, dan pesantren modern.

Hal yang melatarbelakangi penelitian ini adalah keberadaan pekerja anak di kota padang, sedangkan padang belum maksimal. Fokus pada tenaga kerja menjadi fokus dibalik terjadinya faktor-faktor dalam penelitian ini yaitu pertama, apa penyebab dipekerjakannya anak di kota padang? Kedua, berdasarkan angka 23 tahun 2002 tentang perlindungan anak oleh Pemerintah Kota Padang melalui Dinas Sosial dan Dinas Tenaga Kerja Kota Padang? Ketiga, bagaimana mempekerjakan anak menurut hukum Islam? Untuk menjawab permasalahan tersebut maka penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan analisis derkriptif yang dilakukan. Sumber data dari penelitian ini terdiri dari data primer, dan data sekunder. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan dua cara. Pertama, Wawancara Mempekerjakan Anak, Kepala Seksi Perlindungan Pekerja Sosial Dinas Sosial Kota Padang dan Sekretaris Dinas Tenaga Kerja Kota Padang. kedua, dokumentasi, yaitu memotret responden, mereview, mereview dan mencatat semua informasi yang diperoleh dari responden baik primer maupun sekunder. Setelah proses pengumpulan data selesai, selanjutnya dianalisis dengan menghubungkan apa yang diperoleh dari suatu proses kerja dari awal. Hasil penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa praktik mempekerjakan anak di kota padang. Penyebab utama terjadinya pekerja anak adalah karena sulitnya memenuhi kebutuhan hidup karena kemiskinan. Alasan lain karena diatur oleh orang tua, karena dipengaruhi oleh ajakan teman sebaya, karena kesadaran anak itu sendiri ingin membantu orang tua, karena anak ingin hidup mandiri. Kemudian pemberlakuan Undang-Undang Nomor 23 Tahun 2002 tentang Perlindungan Anak oleh Pemerintah Kota Padang melalui Dinas Sosial dan Dinas Tenaga Kerja Kota Padang tersebut. Pertama, Pemerintah Kota Padang telah menerbitkan Peraturan Daerah Nomor 2 Tahun 2012 tentang Pembinaan dan Perlindungan Anak yang bertujuan, menjamin pemenuhan hak anak untuk hidup, tumbuh dan berpartisipasi secara optimal sesuai dengan harkat kemanusiaan, demi terwujudnya anak yang berkualitas. berakhlak mulia dan sejahtera, kemudian membentuk karakter anak berdasarkan filosofi adat basandi sarak sarak basandi sesuai dengan filosofi adat minangkabau alam. Kedua, memberikan berbagai penyuluhan dan pelatihan yang dilakukan oleh Dinas Sosial dan Disnaker Kota Padang di hadapan anak-anak yang bekerja dan orang tua yang mempekerjakan mereka. Namun, upaya pihak kota padang belum maksimal melalui Dinas Sosial dan Dinas Tenaga Kerja Kota padang dalam menghentikan praktik mempekerjakan anak di Kota Padang.

Ahmad Khatib Datuak Tuangguang di Kayutanam merupakansalah seorang tokoh yang pada hari ini sempat terlupakan. Iaadalah seorang tokoh pendidikan agama Islam sekaligus tokohadat yang ikut berperan dalam memberikan kontribusi pemikiranpendidikan agama islam kepada masyarakat Tigo NagariKayutanam Kabupaten Padang Pariaman. Adanya sebuahMadrasah Tarbiyah Islamiyah di Kanagarian Kayutanam adalahsalah satu bukti sepakterjang atau usaha keras dan perjuanganyang berat dari Ahmad Khatib Datuak Tumangguang besertapara tokoh masyarakat lainnya. Adanya murid-murid yang telahberhasil pada hari ini dan dengan keberadaan sekolah atau yangdisebut dengan Madrasah tersebut juga sebagai bukti darikeikutsertaannya dalam mencerdaskan dan menyiarkan ajaranagama islam. Sifat kepemimpinannya yang arif, bijaksana, tulus,disiplin, pekerja keras serta memiliki maru’ah yang tinggimenjadikan Ahmad Khatib Datuak Tumangguang mendapatkantempat dihati masyarakat, sehingga memudahkan Ahmad KhatibDatuak Tumangguang untuk memberikan pemahaman danpencerahan agama islam kepada murid-muridnya danmasyarakat.
