Heat stress can disrupt the balance between the heat poultry release into the environment and the heat they generate. Pequi oil has antioxidant properties, which may mitigate the heat stress effects. This study aimed to investigate the response of laying hens to pequi oil supplementation under heat stress using a proteomic approach. A total of 96 Lohmann White laying hens with 26 weeks old were housed in a completely randomized design with a 2 × 2 factorial arrangement. They were housed in two climate chambers, thermal comfort temperature ± 24.04 °C with the relative humidity ± 66.35 and heat stress (HS) ± 31.26 °C with the relative humidity ± 60.62. They were fed two diets: a control diet (CON), basal diet (BD) without additives, and with Pequi oil (PO), BD + 0.6% PO. After 84 days, plasma samples were analyzed using Shotgun and LC-MS/MS. Proteins related to anti-inflammation, transport, and the immune system were differentially expressed in hens fed PO and CON under heat stress compared to those in thermoneutral environments. This helps protect against oxidative stress and may support the body’s ability to manage heat-induced damage, stabilizing protein expression under stress conditions. The ovotransferrin proteins, fibrinogen isoforms, apolipoprotein A-I, Proteasome activator subunit 4, Transthyretin, and the enzyme serine Peptidase Inhibitor_Kazal Type 5, which presented Upregulated (Up) equal to 1, present characteristics that may be crucial for enhancing the adaptive responses of hens to thermal stress, thereby increasing their tolerance and minimizing the negative effects of heat on egg production. The data presented in this manuscript provides new insights into the plasma proteome alterations of laying hens fed a diet supplemented with pequi oil during heat stress challenges.

Characterizing metabolically active microorganisms using RNA-based methods is a crucial tool for monitoring and mitigating operational issues, such as oil biodegradation and biocorrosion of pipelines in the oil and gas industry. Our review, a pioneering study, addresses the main methods used to preserve, isolate, and sequence RNA from oilfield samples and describes the most abundant metabolically active genera studied. Using the MEDLINE/PubMed, PubMed Central, Scopus, and Web of Science databases, 2.561 potentially eligible records were identified. After screening, 20 studies were included in our review, underscoring the scarcity of studies related to the subject. Data were extracted and reported according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA). These studies evaluated different samples, including produced water (PW), injection water (IW), solid deposits (SD), oil (OIL), and oily sludge (OS) collected from oilfields located in Australia, China, India, Mexico, and the United Arab Emirates. Environmental samples accounted for 55% of the studies, while enriched cultures and microbial consortia represented 35% and 15% of studies, respectively. PW was the most frequently studied sample, comprising 72% of all samples. Filtration and centrifugation were the only processes employed to concentrate the biomass present in samples. For RNA preservation, the most used method was a solution composed of 95:5 v/v ethanol/TRIzol, while for RNA isolation, the TRIzol reagent was the most cited. The Sanger sequencing method was used in all studies evaluating functional genes (alkB, dsrA, aprA, assA, and mcrA), and the Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) method was employed in studies for sequencing transcripts of the 16S rRNA gene and metatranscriptomes. Pseudomonas (16S rRNA = PW: 2%; IW: 8%; metatranscriptome = PW: 20%) and Acinetobacter (16S rRNA = PW: 1%; IW: 4%; metatranscriptome = PW: 17%) were the most abundant genera. This study outlined the primary methods employed in researching metabolically active microorganisms. These data provide a foundation for future research. However, it is essential to note that we cannot yet determine the most effective method. We hope that this study will inspire further research related to the standardization of RNA preservation, extraction, and sequencing methods and significantly contribute to our understanding of active microbial communities in oilfields.

Introduction and objectivep62 is a human multifunctional adaptor protein involved in key cellular processes such as tissue homeostasis, inflammation, and cancer. It acts as a negative regulator of inflammasome complexes. It may thus be considered a good candidate for therapeutic use in inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD), such as colitis. Probiotics, including recombinant probiotic strains producing or delivering therapeutic biomolecules to the host mucosal surfaces, could help prevent and mitigate chronic intestinal inflammation. The objective of the present study was to combine the intrinsic immunomodulatory properties of the probiotic Lactococcus lactis NCDO2118 with its ability to deliver health-promoting molecules to enhance its protective and preventive effects in the context of ulcerative colitis (UC).Material and methodsThis study was realized in vivo in which mice were supplemented with the recombinant strain. The intestinal barrier function was analyzed by monitoring permeability, secretory IgA total levels, mucin expression, and tight junction genes. Its integrity was evaluated by histological analyses. Regarding inflammation, colonic cytokine levels, myeloperoxidase (MPO), and expression of key genes were monitored. The intestinal microbiota composition was investigated using 16S rRNA Gene Sequencing.Results and discussionNo protective effect of L. lactis NCDO2118 pExu:p62 was observed regarding mice clinical parameters compared to the L. lactis NCDO2118 pExu: empty. However, the recombinant strain, expressing p62, increased the goblet cell counts, upregulated Muc2 gene expression in the colon, and downregulated pro-inflammatory cytokines Tnf and Ifng when compared to L. lactis NCDO2118 pExu: empty and inflamed groups. This recombinant strain also decreased colonic MPO activity. No difference in the intestinal microbiota was observed between all treatments. Altogether, our results show that recombinant L. lactis NCDO2118 delivering p62 protein protected the intestinal mucosa and mitigated inflammatory damages caused by dextran sodium sulfate (DSS). We thus suggest that p62 may constitute part of a therapeutic approach targeting inflammation.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is characterized mainly by the accumulation of Amyloid-β oligomers (Aβo) in the brain that leads to hyperphosphorylation and polymerization of the Tau protein in neurofibrillary tangles, which is associated with neuronal death. The initial stage of the disease is due to the production and accumulation of Aβo which is produced from the cleavage of the Amyloid-β precursor protein (APP) by the β-secretase (BACE1) enzyme. Growing evidences indicate that the cellular prion (PrPc) can restrict the activity of BACE1 and, therefore, interrupt the production and toxicity of Aβo. Studies also suggest that the Aβo-PrPc interaction is necessary to trigger the synaptotoxic effects, which depend on the Aβo stimulus. Here we presented an in-depth review of PrPc and its involvement with AD to understand if PrPc can be a marker or target in AD.

Objetivo: comprobar la tasa de evaluación correcta mediante la comparación visual directa de las medidas de dilatación cervical en modelos de cuello uterino de consistencia dura. Método: estudio aleatorizado abierto con 63 estudiantes de obstetricia a los que se les asignó usar o no la comparación visual directa con una guía de dilatación. Los estudiantes estimaron de forma ciega la dilatación cervical en simuladores con diferentes dilataciones. El resultado primario fue la tasa de evaluación correcta. Resultados: los estudiantes realizaron 441 pruebas. Se observó una mayor tasa de evaluación correcta en el grupo experimental que en el grupo control (47,3% versus 27,2%; p < 0,001; Odds Ratio = 2,41; intervalo de confianza del 95% = 1,62-3, 58). Conclusión: la comparación visual directa aumentó la precisión de la evaluación de la dilatación cervical en modelos de simulación de cuello, lo que podría ser beneficioso en el entrenamiento de laboratorio. Este artigo tem como objeto de análise a pesquisa em educação e problematiza como a produção bibliográfica publicada em periódicos A1, no quadriênio 2013-2016, tem contribuído para pensar a prática da pesquisa em educação. Para responder ao problema proposto, o trabalho teve como objetivo analisar a produção de pesquisas educacionais a partir de três elementos constituintes da pesquisa: objeto ou tema, metodologia ou procedimento de trabalho e embasamento teórico. Pautado em uma perspectiva sócio-histórica, o trabalho foi desenvolvido a partir da identificação e da análise dos elementos da pesquisa com base nos resumos das unidades bibliográficas publicadas no quadriênio 2013-2016, desenvolvidas em programas de pós-graduação em educação com notas 7, nesse mesmo período, considerando apenas os artigos de periódicos apresentados nos documentos de avaliação divulgados pela Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES). A atividade de identificação dos elementos pretendidos na análise dos resumos foi realizada a partir da construção de um formulário, cujo preenchimento foi realizado por quatro pesquisadores. Posteriormente, foram verificadas as indicações dos elementos no texto do resumo, descrevendo, exatamente, o que fora apresentado pelos autores de cada artigo, referentes aos elementos aqui pesquisados. Após a análise de 223 artigos, compreendemos que existe certa falta de cuidado ao apresentar informações importantes para a apresentação do texto os resumos. Além disso, consideramos que a falta de rigor teórico-metodológico pode provocar certas fragilidades na produção de conhecimento em educação, uma vez que o campo tem se afastado dos critérios de cientificidade próprios às produções acadêmico-científicas.

Introdução: A resistência aos antibióticos é considerada uma ameaça global à saúde humana e, sua disseminação ambiental é bem reconhecida. Os aglomerados subnormais, comumente conhecidos como “favelas”, podem ser reservatórios de bactérias resistentes a antibióticos (ARB) e genes de resistência (ARGs). Objetivo: Este estudo visa i) explorar a ocorrência de ARB, ARGs e resíduos de antibióticos e, ii) caracterizar a estrutura da comunidade bacteriana do riacho que recebe a descarga de esgoto não tratado de uma favela no Brasil. Método: As amostras de água da “Comunidade de São Remo” (São Paulo) que foram coletadas (n = 7) durante o verão (2021) foram analisadas por métodos de cultura e moleculares. Os isolados bacterianos foram identificados, rastreados quanto à presença de ARGs (blaKPC, blaNDM, blaSPM, blaIMP, blaVIM, blaOXA-23 and blaOXA-48) e testados quanto à suscetibilidade a antibióticos β-lactâmicos, cefalosporinas de terceira geração e carbapenêmicos. Além disso, o DNA total da comunidade bacteriana (TC-DNA) das amostras de águas foram extraídos, pesquisados quanto à presença de ARGs e, encaminhadas para análise de microbioma. Resultados: De um total de 67 isolados, um grupo de 33 cepas foram positivas para a presença dos genes blaKPC (18,8%) e blaVIM (24,6%) e, foram identificados como pertencentes aos gêneros Aeromonas, Chryseobacterium, Elizabethkingia, Comamonas, Citrobacter, Escherichia, Pseudomonas, Enterobacter, Klebsiella, Kluyvera e Serratia. As espécies bacterianas destes gêneros mostraram resistência à cefotaxima (CTX,73%), amoxicilina (AML, 70%), aztreonam (ATM, 54,5%) e ertapenem (ERT, 51,5%). As amostras de TC-DNA evidenciaram a presença dos ARGs blaKPC e blaVIM enquanto, o gene blaNDM foi observado só em 4 amostras. Os filos Firmicutes (25-33%), Bacteroidota (25-32%), Proteobacteria (22-31%) e Campylobacterota (4-10%) foram os mais predominantes das comunidades bacterianas das amostras de água. Para uma melhor caracterização dos ABR obtidos, estão em andamento testes de produção de carbapenemase e análise de sequenciamento do genoma completo. Além disso, a detecção de resíduos de antibióticos nessas amostras de água também está sendo analisada. Conclusão: Até o momento, a principal conclusão desta pesquisa é que o esgoto não tratado dos assentamentos irregulares pode impactar a propagação de resistência microbiana. Medidas de intervenção nessas localidades são urgentemente necessárias para limitar a exposição humana à ARB e ARGs.

Enquadramento: O modelo de cuidados prestados durante o parto na água é interpessoal, integral e respeitado. Objetivo: Conhecer a perceção das mulheres sobre os cuidados recebidos pelas enfermeiras especialistas de saúde materna e obstétrica durante o parto na água na perspetiva da teoria de enfermagem de Jean Watson. Metodologia: Investigação empírica, qualitativa, interpretativa com 24 mulheres portuguesas que vivenciaram o parto na água no hospital ou no domicílio, com tratamento dos dados baseados no método de análise de conteúdo de Bardin. Resultados: A partir das narrativas, emergiram cinco categorias - ambiente acolhedor; a mulher no controlo do seu próprio parto; relação de confiança; expectativas correspondidas e o companheiro como parte do processo. Conclusão: O Processo Clinical Caritas foi percebido nas narrativas através do respeito e do carinho durante os cuidados prestados, proporcionando uma relação e cooperação, que promoveu posteriormente uma cura interior através desse processo de cuidados. A perceção das participantes do estudo quanto aos cuidados recebidos revelou um ambiente seguro, íntimo, respeitado, acolhedor, sem intervenções desnecessárias, favorável e amparado pelo companheiro.

In order to elaborate a pedagogical game, the builders need a deep and specific knowledge, not only of their area of expertise, but also of the technology used and how these materials can be used and adapted to the lessons. Therefore, the objective of this article is to present the development of the plan for the elaboration of a digital game that allows the broad observation of the necessary knowledge for the accomplishment of the pedagogical activities in a virtual laboratory focused on the area of civil construction. The methodological procedures followed seek the structuring and organization of knowledge related to the development of the game, going through the definition of its objectives, determining the environment, choosing the platform, deciding the contents, delimiting the rules, carrying out tests. Therefore, an application script needs to delineate the reflections not only didactic, but also technological and content, allowing to systematize the integration and development of the game as a didactic resource for extending the classroom and expanding the knowledge exposed. As a result of the construction process of the virtual laboratory, a prototype with the first three phases of the game was built, tested and evaluated positively by teachers and students in the field.

The glucose–insulin regulatory system and its glucose oscillations is a recurring theme in the literature because of its impact on human lives, mostly the ones affected by diabetes mellitus. Several approaches have been proposed, from mathematical to data-based models, with the aim of modeling the glucose oscillation curve. Having such a curve, it is possible to predict when to inject insulin in type 1 diabetes (T1D) individuals. However, the literature presents prediction horizons of no longer than 6 h, which could be a problem considering their sleeping time. This work presents Tesseratus, a model that adopts a multi-agent approach used to combine machine learning and mathematical modeling to predict the glucose oscillation for up to 8 h. Tesseratus can support endocrinologists and provide personalized recommendations for T1D individuals to keep their glucose concentration in the ideal range. It brings pioneering results in an experiment with seven real T1D individuals. Using the Parkes error grid as an evaluation metric, it can be depicted that 93.7% of measurements fall in zones A and B during the night period with MAE 27.77 mg/dL. It is our claim that Tesseratus will be a reference for the classification of a glucose prediction model, supporting the mitigation of long-term complications in the T1D individuals.

Objective: to describe the construction process and evaluate the evidence for content and appearance validity of a serial album for the prevention of foot complications in diabetics. Methods: methodological study of the construction of the educational material, according to the following steps: bibliographic survey; construction of the educational technology and validation of content and appearance by experts in diabetes and technical production. The judges were chosen by convenience, five for content and two for appearance. The Content Validation Index and the Suitability Assessment of Materials were applied. Results: the Content Validation Index showed agreement among judges, with a result ranging from 0.76 to 1.0. According to the score obtained in the Suitability Assessment of Materials, the material was considered adequate, with a percentage of44.5%. Conclusion: the serial album was considered valid for content and appearance and is suitable for clinical validation for use by health professionals in health education activities.

ABSTRACT Objective: Evaluate a three-dimensional educational gerontotechnology for the prevention of falls in the elderly at home. Methods: Cross-sectional, descriptive study, involving the Development of gerontotechnology; Evaluation by specialists and target audience, took place in Fortaleza, State of Ceara, Brazil, from June 2017 to October 2018. For the development, it was used the steps adopted in a booklet and the Casa Segura project for the elderly. 16 specialists and 30 elderly participated in the evaluation, using the Health Promotion Model, by Nola Pende. Results: The scale model has an area of 160 cm2, with four rooms made of Medium Density Fiberboard . Specialists consider technology adequate, with a level of compliance of 87.7% IC95% [87,71-88,42]. All the elderly related that the scale model looked their homes, and 13 of them (43.3%) suggested the construction of a backyard, a possible second floor, corridors, and stairs. Conclusion: Gerontotechnology was considered fit to be used in the prevention of falls in the elderly.

The purpose of this study was to assess the swine wastewater treatment system, consisting of the anaerobic baffled reactor (ABR), followed by the upflow anaerobic sludge blanket (UASB) reactor at full scale. The system was monitored by analyzing samples collected in the influent and effluent of ABR and UASB. The following parameters were analyzed: temperature, pH, total suspended solids (TSS), volatile suspended solids (VSS), biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), and chemical oxygen demand (COD). Averages of total removal of COD and BOD were 96.7 and 98.4%, respectively. The mean concentrations of COD, BOD, TSS, and VSS at the final effluent were 611, 124, 138, and 134 mg L-1, respectively. The mean volumetric organic loadings (VOL) at the ABR and UASB were 10.29 and 0.99 kg COD m-1d-1. Therefore, the ABR-UASB system was found to be a promising alternative for the swine wastewater treatment.

A educação interprofissional é uma possibilidade de capacitação de estudantes de diferentes cursos da área da saúde, na perspectiva do aprendizado colaborativo, bem como do trabalho em equipe e em rede, visando à integralidade do cuidado em saúde. Este trabalho tem por objetivo relatar as vivências e experiências no Programa de Educação pelo Trabalho para a Saúde/Rede Cegonha, com ênfase na educação interprofissional e nas práticas colaborativas em saúde para a promoção do cuidado integral materno-infantil, bem como na contribuição dessas vivências durante o processo de formação em saúde.

O teste da atividade metanogênica específica (AME) permite conhecimento sobre o potencial de lodos anaeróbios em digestão de material orgânico, no entanto, ainda não possui protocolo prático para o seu desenvolvimento mais disseminado nas Estações de Tratamento. O presente trabalho avaliou dois métodos de AME, um simplificado e outro automatizado. Em ambos métodos houve inoculação de lodo de reator anaeróbio, diluição com solução nutritiva e adição de substrato (acetato de sódio), em concentrações adequadas. Para o método simplificado foram utilizados frascos de antibiótico com medição manual da produção de biogás, por meio de seringa esmerilhada, e análise de metano via cromatografia. No método automatizado foi utilizado o equipamento AMPTS (Automatic Methane Potential Test System), o qual fornecia os resultados por meio de interface com software específico. Os resultados obtidos com o método simplificado foram mais coerentes ao esperado (valores em torno da faixa de 0,2 a 0,3 gDQOCH4/gSV.d), confiáveis e de custo inferior, considerando todos os recursos materiais envolvidos, quando comparados com os obtidos com método automatizado (valores em torno de 0,1 gDQOCH4/gSV.d). Além disso, verificou-se que novas praticidades podem ser implementadas.

Este estudo investigou como as opinioes publicadas em sites de recomendacoes influenciam o processo de decisao de compra de servicos hoteleiros. Na coleta de dados, pelo metodo qualitativo, utilizou‑se entrevistas com internautas e consumidores que ja se sentiram influenciados pelas opinioes de outros usuarios. Os resultados indicam que as opinioes postadas atuam de forma relevante na decisao de compra de servicos hoteleiros. Os principais fatores para tornar os comentarios dos internautas referencias sao a credibilidade e a confianca que os buscadores de informacoes lhes atribuem. Identificaram‑se, ainda, os processo de compartilhamento e de busca de informacoes online dos servicos turisticos.

O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o sistema de tratamento de águas residuárias de suinocultura, constituído de reator anaeróbio de chicanas (RAC), seguido por reator anaeróbio de manta de lodo (UASB), em escala real. O sistema foi monitorado por meio da análise de amostras coletadas nos afluentes e efluentes do RAC e UASB. Foram analisados os seguintes parâmetros: temperatura, pH, sólidos suspensos totais (SST), sólidos suspensos voláteis (SSV), demanda bioquímica de oxigênio (DBO) e demanda química de oxigênio (DQO). As médias de remoção total de DQO e de DBO foram 96,7 e 98,4%, respectivamente. As concentrações médias de DQO, DBO, SST e SSV no efluente final foram 611, 124, 138 e 134 mg.L-1, respectivamente. As cargas orgânicas volumétricas (COV) médias no RAC e UASB foram 10,29 e 0,99 kgDQO m kgDQO m-3d-1. Desta maneira, o sistema RAC-UASB apresenta-se como alternativa promissora para o tratamento de águas residuárias de suinocultura.

This study aimed to evaluate the efficiency of a full-scale treatment system effluent slaughterhouse. The full-scale Sewage Treatment Station was designed for a daily flow of 60 m³/d, corresponding to a slaughter of 60 cattle per day. The treatment system consists of a Parshall flume for flow measurement, followed by static sieve, gravimetric fat, sedimentation and anaerobic sludge blanket (UASB) box and it was monitored weekly from January to August. The following parameters were analyzed: pH, alkalinity, biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), chemical oxygen demand (COD), total solids (TS), total suspended solids (TSS), ammonia nitrogen, and total nitrogen kjedhall. The average pH, COD and TSS in the UASB reactor effluent values were 6.96, 660 mg/L and 188 mg/L , respectively. The system proved to be efficient, with average removal of 96.40% to 89.92% for COD and TSS. The UASB reactor showed high performance in removing solids and organic load. Thus, this reactor becomes a viable alternative for treating wastewater slaughterhouse, offering good removal results and low cost of deployment.

Transplantation brings hope for many patients. A multidisciplinary approach on this field aims at creating biologically functional tissues to be used as implants and prostheses. The freeze-drying process allows the fundamental properties of these materials to be preserved, making future manipulation and storage easier. Optimizing a freeze-drying cycle is of great importance since it aims at reducing process costs while increasing product quality of this time-and-energy-consuming process. Mathematical modeling comes as a tool to help a better understanding of the process variables behavior and consequently it helps optimization studies. Freeze-drying microscopy is a technique usually applied to determine critical temperatures of liquid formulations. It has been used in this work to determine the sublimation rates of a biological tissue freeze-drying. The sublimation rates were measured from the speed of the moving interface between the dried and the frozen layer under 21.33, 42.66 and 63.99 Pa. The studied variables were used in a theoretical model to simulate various temperature profiles of the freeze-drying process. Good agreement between the experimental and the simulated results was found.A prática da transplantação traz esperança para muitos pacientes. Uma visão multidisciplinar nessa área visa à produção de tecidos biológicos para serem utilizados como implantes e próteses. A liofilização é um processo de secagem que preserva características essenciais desses materiais, facilitando sua manipulação e armazenamento. A liofilização é um processo que requer muito tempo e energia e sua otimização é muito importante, pois permite reduzir custos de processo melhorando a qualidade do produto. A modelagem matemática é uma ferramenta que permite descrever o comportamento do produto durante o processo e, consequentemente, auxilia os estudos de otimização. Microscopia óptica acoplada à liofilização, uma técnica usualmente aplicada na determinação de temperaturas críticas de formulações líquidas, foi utilizada neste trabalho na determinação de taxas de sublimação da liofilização de um tecido biológico. As taxas de sublimação foram calculadas a partir da velocidade da interface entre a camada seca e congelada, sob pressões de 21,33, 42,66 e 63,99 Pa. As variáveis estudadas foram usadas em um modelo matemático teórico, que simula os perfis de temperatura do produto durante o ciclo de liofilização. Os resultados apresentados demonstraram boa relação entre os dados experimentais e simulados.

OBJETIVOS: investigar a ocorrência da linha púrpura com a sua respectiva descoloração em mulheres na fase ativa do trabalho de parto e sua associação com a dilatação cervical, com o grau de descida da apresentação fetal na pelve bem como a caracterização social e obstétrica, e a opinião das mulheres quanto à utilização desse método clínico. MÉTODOS: pesquisa descritiva, prospectiva e observacional em 100 parturientes em um centro de parto normal no Estado de São Paulo. RESULTADOS: a linha púrpura ocorreu em 56 das 100 mulheres na fase ativa do trabalho de parto. Houve correlação estatística significativa entre as medidas da dilatação cervical e da linha; 22% apresentaram descoloração da linha púrpura, não havendo associação entre número de mulheres com descoloração da linha e descida da cabeça fetal. Para 81% das parturientes a avaliação não provocou nenhum desconforto. CONCLUSÕES: desde que haja a presença da linha, sua avaliação pode ser utilizada para diminuir o número de exames vaginais, especialmente quando estes tiverem o objetivo de medir unicamente a dilatação cervical.OBJECTIVES: to investigate the occurrence of the purple line and its respective discoloration in women during the active phase of labor and its association with dilation of the cervix and the position of the fetus in the pelvis. METHODS: a descriptive, prospective, observational study was carried out in 100 women in labor at a normal delivery clinic in the State of São Paulo. RESULTS: the purple line appeared in 56 of the 100 women in the active phase of labor. There was a statistically significant correlation between the measurements for dilation of the cervix and those for the line; in 22% the purple line was discolored and there was no association between the number of women with this discoloration and the extent to which the head of the fetus had descended in the cervix. For 81% of the women in labor, the evaluation caused no discomfort whatsoever. CONCLUSIONS: as this line is present, measurement of it could be used to reduce the number of vaginal examinations, especially when the single aim is to measure dilation of the cervix.

Este estudio investigó cómo las opiniones publicadas en sitios recomendaciones influyen en el proceso de toma de la compra de servicios del hotel. Durante la recolección de datos, el método cualitativo se utilizó entrevistas con los internautas y consumidores que se han sentido influenciados por las opiniones de otros usuarios. Los resultados indican que las opiniones publicadas trabajo relevante en la decisión de comprar los servicios del hotel. Los principales factores para que los comentarios de los internautas referencias son la credibilidad y la confianza que las personas que buscan información les atribuyen. Por otra parte, hemos identificado el proceso de compartir y la búsqueda de información en línea de los servicios turísticos.

INTRODUÇÃO: O Instituto Central do Povo é uma organização busca ajudar a comunidade do morro da Providência, reservando espaço onde as crianças são atendidas em horário integral, recebendo cuidados e atenção educacional, permitindo que os pais possam trabalhar para prover o sustento dessas crianças. A discente desenvolve atividade no projeto de extensão supracitado desde março de 2007, que conta com a participação de outros acadêmicos de enfermagem e medicina, coordenados pela professora Sônia, que realiza atendimento médico aos alunos, funcionários, moradores da Providência e adjacências, também é feito o acompanhamento ponduroestatural das crianças matriculadas, e realização de eventos oferecendo atendimento primário em saúde. OBJETIVOS: · Oferecer atendimento primário em sáude à essa comunidade, constituindo o primeiro elemento do processo de atenção continuada à saúde, e contribuindo para a prevenção e acompanhamento de doenças crônicas. · Realizar o acompanhamento ponduroestatural das crianças matriculadas na creche e na escola do ICP, permitindo avaliar o desenvolvimento das mesmas. · Aproximar Universidade e comunidade, e dar aos discentes a chance de vivenciar situações possibilitando a obtenção de vivência e práticas compatíveis à sua formação, que irão prepará-los melhor pro futuro. METODOLOGIA: É realizado atendimento ambulatorial semanal, avaliação do desenvolvimento das crianças através de pesagens e medições semestrais de todos os alunos, realização de eventos periódicos com palestras educativas, realização de feiras de saúde com aplicação de flúor, testes de acuidade visual, aferição de pressão arterial e de glicose, e coleta de dados para produção científica, aliando ensino, extensão e pesquisa. RESULTADOS: O projeto de extensão foi selecionado no proext 2009/2010, e o acompanhamento ponduroestatural das crianças matriculadas na creche e na escola do ICP, permite avaliar o desenvolvimento das mesmas de acordo com a faixa etária, colaborando no diagnóstico de casos de desnutrição ou obesidade infantil pela professora Sônia Middleton, logo, são dadas as devidas orientações a pais e educadores, ou em casos extremos, a criança pode ser encaminhada a internação hospitalar. Faz-se assim, de suma importância que os acadêmicos continuem pesando e medindo as crianças semestralmente para detectar precocemente algum problema, e levá-las até a consulta médica. Pode-se perceber também que os funcionários das creches, e os pais também se sentem mais seguros ao receberem orientação sobre alimentação, higiene, importância do estímulo, e cuidados com as crianças. O projeto de extensão promove periodicamente eventos voltados para a promoção à saúde, em que a comunidade local é convidada a participar. Oferecemos atendimento médico, aferição de pressão arterial e glicemia capilar, testes de acuidade visual, além de atividades educativas voltadas à prevenção e acompanhamento das doenças prevalentes. Ao longo de 2009 foram realizados 2519 atendimentos médicos,1215 fisioterápicos, 863 dentários e 25 pequenas cirurgias no ICP. Aproximadamente 250 crianças foram pesadas e medidas, nos dois semestres, pelos bolsistas e voluntários do projeto. CONCLUSÕES: Participar do projeto proporciona grande crescimento, e faz-se notório a importância do fortalecimento de equipes multidisciplinares já que há integração entre acadêmicos de enfermagem, medicina, e nutrição. É a nossa oportunidade de ajudar a comunidade, e de aproximá-la da universidade, socializando e exercitando nosso conhecimento, unindo perfeitamente teoria e prática. É uma troca de experiências entre alunos, professora, e população, que nos conscientiza de nossa cidadania, derruba preconceitos, e contribue na formação de profissionais de saúde conscientes da sua influência social. Durante este processo foi possível identificar algumas crianças com o crescimento e/ou desenvolvimento deficitário, e que este problema poderia ser evitado ou amenizado se houvesse também no local, uma consulta de enfermagem atuante junto às crianças, pois isto abrangeria educação para saúde, implicando na construção de uma prática de saúde com relações de proximidade, acolhimento, interação facilitadora e superação de dificuldades e ações educativas efetivas, trazendo a mãe e a família para o processo de acompanhamento do crescimento e desenvolvimento infantil. This paper reports the results of a mercury (Hg) and selenium (Se) metallomic study in the liver tissues of Psectrogaster amazonica and Raphiodon vulpinus from the Brazilian Amazon. Two-dimensional electrophoresis, graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry, and liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry were performed. Hg and Se determinations allowed the calculation of Hg:Se and Se:Hg molar ratio and Se values for health benefits (Se HBVs). The Se:Hg values were >1 for both fish species, whereas the Se HBVs were >5 for P. amazonica and >10 for R. vulpinus, indicating that both possess Se reserves to control Hg toxicity. The metallomic data allowed the identification of 11 Hg/Se-associated protein spots in the two fish species, with concentrations in the range of 9.70 ± 0.14 and 28.44 ± 0.31 mg kg−1 of Hg and 16.15 ± 0.21 and 43.12 ± 0.51 mg kg−1 of Se. Five metal binding proteins (MBP) in the Hg/Se-associated protein spots in the liver proteome of P. amazonica and eight in R. vulpinus were identified, indicating the possible formation of Hg/Se complexes on the MBP structures. The activities analysis of catalase, superoxide dismutase, GPx enzymes, and lipoperoxide concentrations demonstrated that Hg-induced oxidative stress did not occur, possibly because both fish species possess Se reserves necessary to inhibit the Hg's deleterious effects. Abstract Objectives: to describe the perineal outcomes of women who had delivered in water and out of water. Methods: a cross-sectional and quantitative study developed in a public hospital in Setúbal, Portugal. The population was of women who participated in the "Water Birth Project" in the period from 2011 to 2014, which gave birth in water and out of water. 104 women were selected according to established inclusion criteria. The groups were compared according to the following variables: demographics, obstetric information, delivery care and perineal outcomes. The data were analyzed in the Stata(r) software, with descriptive and bivariate statistics (chi-square and Fisher's test). Results: the medical records of 73 women who gave birth in water and 31 women who gave birth out of water were studied. Water deliveries were significantly associated with fewer perineal lacerations, lower rates of episiotomy, and shorter delivery time. Conclusions: the results of the study suggest that childbirth in water has a protective effect against severe third or fourth degree perineal tears, during fetal expulsion in water.
