The order in which language points are taught on a course or in a coursebook is determined by the assumed order of difficulty of the language points. Usually, this is based on the idea that certain grammar points contain a feature which means they have to be taught before other ones can be attempted. This ordering is evident not only in traditionally designed courses, but also in communicative ones. It has been difficult to get away from such an entrenched approach to teaching and learning. Recent approaches introduce the idea of showing the learners how they learn. This concentration on learning strategies means that the early lessons of the course are not based on language points. Although this is an improvement, it has to be said that this attempt often fails because after the first few lessons the teaching reverts to the expected type and the early lessons are forgotten. There has been some concern about the teacher being helped to find out what (s)he is best at. Most teachers are now eclectic. They know about the different approaches and techniques as they know how to use lessons that they encounter from a variety of backgrounds. What is missing is the help needed to make the best choices; help which will avoid feelings of dissatisfaction. I want to say that besides early lessons being based on the strategy approach, there are lessons the content of which has a feature which directs the lessons to be included at the beginning of a course. These lessons, like strategy lessons, are not self-contained. They should be referred to as the course develops. Les recherches sociologiques sur les personnes désignées comme « handicapées mentales » sont relativement rares en France (Fardeau, 2001). Et on peut remarquer également que si le cinéma s’est souvent intéressé à la folie, il a plus rarement traité de questions liées à la déficience intellectuelle (Revue Etre Handicap information, 1996). Toutefois depuis les années 1990, quelques films dont les personnages principaux présentent une déficience intellectuelle connaissent un succès populaire non négligeable . En sociologie du handicap, en France, c’est Nicole Diederich qui en tant que sociologue, s’est fortement attachée à donner la parole aux personnes « désignées comme handicapées mentales » (Diederich, 2004), et qui a rencontré nombre de ces personnes « condamnée(s) à se taire » pour écrire leurs paroles et contribuer ainsi à faire connaître leur point de vue sur leur vie et leur place sociale. Le travail de recherche que nous nous proposons de présenter pour ce colloque vise le même objectif. Il traite, dans le cadre d’une sociologie par l’image, de la question des usages du corps dans les processus d’intégration sociale de jeunes sportifs ayant une déficience intellectuelle. A partir de séquences filmées d’entretiens individuels, d’entraînements sportifs, de réunions de groupe (prises de vues réalisées au cours de stages sportifs en 2014 et 2015 ) notre objectif est de faire émerger le point de vue critique de ces jeunes sur leur vie quotidienne, le regard qu’ils portent sur les difficultés qu’ils rencontrent dans leurs relations sociales et la façon dont la société, au quotidien, les assigne à l’insignifiance et à l’incapacité. Il s’agit donc de dévoiler leur point de vue sur leur vie quotidienne « intégrée » en utilisant leurs récits de la rareté et de la pauvreté des liens dont elle est faite, ainsi que leurs récits d’expériences de l’indifférence ou du mépris.
