Automated railway security systems prevent train collisions with trackside obstructions that cause accidents in high-speed railways. Rail safety is being improved and accident rates reduced through continuous research. A rapid advancement in deep learning has promoted new possibilities for research in this field. In this work, a novel deep learning-based FOD-YOLO net is proposed for detecting the fasteners faults and objects in the railway tracks. There are two basic components in the deep learning-based YOLOv8: the backbone and the head. YOLOv8 utilizes an improved version of the CSPDarknet53 network for detecting objects on the railway track. The head of YOLOv8 consists of EfficientNet with various convolutional layers with squeeze and excitation blocks for detecting any defect in the track fasteners. These layers are liable for detecting the objectness scores, bounding boxes and class probabilities structured with fully connected layers for the objects and faults in tracks. Based on the results from the Yolo network, the alert message is sent to the loco pilot to avoid accidents using fuzzy logic. The experimental fallouts of proposed FOD-YOLO net achieve higher accuracy and yields better evaluation results with 98.14% accuracy, 98.84% precision and 95.94% recall. From the experimental results, the FOD-YOLO net improves the overall accuracy range by 5.44%, 4.72%, 0.73%, and 13.18% better than Fast RCNN, YOLOv5s-VF, YOLO-GD, and 2D-SSA + Deep network respectively. Branch Retinal Artery Occlusion (BRAO) has become a serious disorder causing permanent loss of vision. It is mainly caused due to the rupture of blood vessels which is too small in size and thereby increasing the risk for efficient detection. Therefore an efficient detection scheme is necessary to evaluate appropriately and pave the way for systemic therapy to preserve or recover vision in the affected eye. In this paper, a fully automatic detection scheme has been developed for accurate segmentation followed by classification of BRAO volumes using the fundus images. Coming to the point this is the first automatic classification framework using an optimized neural network for classifying BRAO. It's mainly a three-step process where the first step concentrates on removing noise and thereby mproving the quality of fundus image. According to which an boosted anisotropic diffusionbased enhancement filter is used here, which effectively removes the noise. This is justified using image quality metrics. Second step here involves adaptive cluster with super pixel segmentation which clearly segments the affected area with high contrast. For the segmented image IR Analyzer is used for extracting region properties. In the final step gray wolf optimization-based convolution neural network (GWO-CNN) classifier is used. Here GWO-CNN classifier is used to differentiate the normal and abnormal images. High rated and active research in Ophthalmic field has paved the way for the detection of several retinal disorders which helps the ophthalmologist, in scheduling and executing timely treatment. There exist different imaging device for retinal examination in ophthalmology with varying degrees of resolution. The images obtained from such imaging devices contains noise which must be eliminated for producing accurate results. This paper mainly concentrates on using boosted anisotropic diffusion filter (BADF) which outperforms the existing anisotropic diffusion filter and is compared with different filters to authenticate the performance. Various performance measures are taken into considerations which are mean square error, structural similarity index, peak signal to noise ratio and signal to noise ratio. The proposed work is tested for 20 images (10 abnormal BRAO from clinical database and 10 normal images). This paper proposes an intellectual classification system to classify normal and abnormal CT scan lung images. Prediction of cancer cells from lung image is such a difficult task for physicians and researchers. A novel technique for lung tumour detection with Grey Wolf Optimized & Whale Optimization Algorithm – Support Vector Machine (GWO & WOA-SVM) is proposed. CT scan images are used as input images. Investigations focused on the segmentation and classification part to find the lung lesion region. For finding the lung abnormality and lesion region in the lung, four different stages are used. The first stage is the image acquisition process. The second stage is the image pre-processing and enhancement stage, here Advanced Clustering (AC) technique is used. The next stage is the segmentation process, here the advanced surface normal overlap (ASNO) lung segmentation algorithm is used. Finally, the lung lesion is classified using the hybrid classifier followed by a different optimization technique. The research gap for this paper is to find the lung lesion using an optimization-based hybrid classification technique. Nowadays, classification decision and treatment of lung tumours are based on symptoms and radiological appearance. Here Hybrid Classifier (KNN-SVM) is used to classify 700 images; it is observed from the results that the Hybrid classifier KNN-SVM demonstrated the highest classification accuracy rate of 97.6% among other methods. Medical image detection and classification play an important role in medical research. Tumour detection is a process of crucial importance in oncology. The aim of this paper is to devise an approach for efficient image enhancement, tumour detection, and classification on computed tomographic lung images. Three different application-related methods on computed tomography (CT) images have been designed and implemented in this work. The first method, which was based on image quality, enhances the performance of the medical images. Generally, the CT images are very sensitive to noise and are difficult to handle. Proper care may be taken by introducing some preprocessing algorithms like enhancement algorithms and filters. According to this, an image enhancement algorithm, Wavelet Shrinkage adaptive histogram Equalization (WSAHE), with anisotropic diffusion filter (ADF) was introduced to improve the contrast of the CT images and denoising. In the second method Seed Region growing with Random walk segmentation algorithm (SRGWRWS) is proposed for lung tumour segmentation. In the third method GLCM features, FOS features, structural features, and combinational features are calculated from the segmented lung images. After segmentation, the tumour classification is done by Multi-class support vector machine (MCSVM) and Descend RUSBOOST classifiers. Here, MCSVM classifier was used to find whether the input CT tumour image is suspicious, benign or malignant. Overall accuracy of 92% is obtained using Descend RUSBOOST classifier with GLCM features, FOS features, structural features, combinational features and overall accuracy of 97% is obtained using MCSVM classifier with GLCM feature in MATLAB 2017a software. A chronic disorder caused by abnormal growth of the lung cells in the pulmonary tumour. This study suggests a modern automated approach to improve efficiency and decrease the difficulty of lung tumour diagnosis. The proposed algorithm for lung tumour sensing consists of four phases: pre‐processing, segmentation, extraction, and characteristics classification. The first stage is the image acquisition here input lung image is read and then resized. The second stage is the image pre‐processing here Perona–Malik diffusion with unsharp masking filter is proposed for enhancement purposes. The third stage is the segmentation here the improved histogram–based fast 2D Otsu's thresholding is proposed for lung tumour segmentation purposes. Finally, linear discriminant analysis classifier, support vector machine (SVM) classifier, SVM–sequence minimal optimisation classifier, Naive Bayes classifier, SVM–advance sequence minimal optimisation (SVM–ASMO) classification [proposed] included in the various classifier groups adopted in this report. Overall performance accuracy of 0.962 is obtained using the proposed SVM–ASMO method that helps to diagnose the cancer cells using the feature extraction process, which is done automatically. Nowadays, lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in both men and women. The early detection of potentially cancerous cells is the best way to improve the patient's chances of survival. In the medical field, computed tomography (CT) is the best imaging technique and it is helpful for doctors to accurately find the cancerous cells. The authors propose an automatic approach to analyse and segment the lungs and classify each lung into normal or cancer. Initially, the CT lung image is pre‐processed to remove noise. Then, they combine the histogram analysis with thresholding and morphological operations to segment and extract the lung regions. In feature extraction stage, the radiomic features of each lung image are extracted separately. Then to improve the classification accuracy, some of the optimum features are selected using modified graph clustering‐based whale optimisation algorithm. Finally, the selected features are classified using ensemble classifiers such as support vector machine, K‐nearest neighbour, and random forest. Experimental result demonstrates that the proposed method achieves better performance in terms of sensitivity, specificity, precision, recall, F‐measure, and accuracy when compared with other state‐of‐art approaches. In this paper, a novel adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS)-based control technique optimized by Bacterial Foraging Optimization Algorithm for speed control of matrix converter (MC)-fed brushless direct current (BLDC) motor is presented. ANFIS is considered to be one of the most promising technologies for control of electrical drives fed by MC. Optimizing the training parameters of ANFIS, to improve its performance, is still being considered by several researchers recently. Parameters of the online ANFIS controller such as learning rate (η), forgetting factor (λ) and steepest descent momentum constant (α) are optimized by using the proposed algorithm. For the purpose of comparison, proportional integral derivative controller, fuzzy logic controller, PSO-ANFIS and BAT-ANFIS are considered. Set point tracking performances of the proposed system are carried out at various operating points for an industrial BLDC motor operating at a maximum rated speed of 380 rpm and torque of 6.4 N m. Time domain specifications such as rise time, settling time, peak time, steady-state error and peak overshoot in the presence and absence of load torque disturbances are presented. Time integral performance measures such as integral square error, integral absolute error, and integral time multiplied absolute error are analyzed for various operating conditions. Speed fluctuation in the output of BLDC motor is dependent on the source current harmonics of the inverter/converter. To illustrate this, total harmonic distortion (THD) analysis is carried out for the existing PWM inverter and the proposed MC, and it is proved that MC results in reduced THD, as compared to PWM inverter. Simulation results confirm that the proposed controller outperforms the other existing control techniques under various set speed and torque conditions. Statistical analysis is effectively carried out to prove the effectiveness of the proposed controller. Experimental analysis is performed to validate the performance of the proposed control scheme.
