Software development for military organizations follows standards and a set of guidelines established in the requirements engineering domain. However, these procedures are not always documented and it is difficult to reach understanding among stakeholders with varied backgrounds and interests. This article aims to obtain lessons learned through a case study of the development of a defense system for the Armed Forces of Brazil. From the validation of requirements specialist, a software development lifecycle was obtained that integrates the waterfall model and ISO/IEC/IEEE 29148 recommendations. The use of the model obtained facilitated the understanding of the processes that involved military teams, detailed specification of system requirements and success in the geoinformation based prototype.

International audience; Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a common disease associated with significant morbidity and mortality that is both preventable and treatable. However, a major challenge in recognizing, preventing, and treating COPD is understanding its complexity. While COPD has historically been characterized as a disease defined by airflow limitation, we now understand it as a multi-component disease with many clinical phenotypes, systemic manifestations, and associated co-morbidities. Evidence is rapidly emerging in our understanding of the many factors that contribute to the pathogenesis of COPD and the identification of "early" or "pre-COPD" which should provide exciting opportunities for early treatment and disease modification. In addition to breakthroughs in our understanding of the origins of COPD, we are optimizing treatment strategies and delivery of care that are showing impressive benefits in patient-centered outcomes and healthcare utilization. This special issue of Respiratory Medicine, "COPD: Providing the Right Treatment for the Right Patient at the Right Time" is a summary of the proceedings of a conference held in Stresa, Italy in April 2022 that brought together international experts to discuss emerging evidence in COPD and Pulmonary Rehabilitation in honor of a distinguished friend and colleague, Claudio Ferdinando Donor (1948-2021). Claudio was a true pioneer in the field of pulmonary rehabilitation and the comprehensive care of individuals with COPD. He held numerous leadership roles in in the field, provide editorial stewardship of several respiratory journals, authored numerous papers, statement and guidelines in COPD and Pulmonary Rehabilitation, and provided mentorship to many in our field. Claudio's most impressive talent was his ability to organize spectacular conferences and symposia that highlighted cutting edge science and clinical medicine. It is in this spirit that this conference was conceived and planned. These proceedings are divided into 4 sections which highlight crucial areas in the field of COPD: (1) New concepts in COPD pathogenesis; (2) Enhancing outcomes in COPD; (3) Non-pharmacologic management of COPD; and (4) Optimizing delivery of care for COPD. These presentations summarize the newest evidence in the field and capture lively discussion on the exciting future of treating this prevalent and impactful disease. We thank each of the authors for their participation and applaud their efforts toward pushing the envelope in our understanding of COPD and optimizing care for these patients. We believe that this edition is a most fitting tribute to a dear colleague and friend and will prove useful to students, clinicians, and researchers as they continually strive to provide the right treatment for the right patient at the right time. It has been our pleasure and a distinct honor to serve as editors and oversee such wonderful scholarly work.

- Abstract

BACKGROUND: The efficacy and safety of benralizumab, an interleukin-5 receptor alpha-directed cytolytic monoclonal antibody, for the prevention of exacerbations in patients with moderate to very severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) are not known.METHODS: In the GALATHEA and TERRANOVA trials, we enrolled patients with COPD (at a ratio of approximately 2:1 on the basis of eosinophil count [≥220 per cubic millimeter vs. RESULTS: In GALATHEA, the estimates of the annualized exacerbation rate were 1.19 per year (95% confidence interval [CI], 1.04 to 1.36) in the 30-mg benralizumab group, 1.03 per year (95% CI, 0.90 to 1.19) in the 100-mg benralizumab group, and 1.24 per year (95% CI, 1.08 to 1.42) in the placebo group; the rate ratio as compared with placebo was 0.96 for 30 mg of benralizumab (P = 0.65) and 0.83 for 100 mg of benralizumab (P = 0.05). In TERRANOVA, the estimates of the annualized exacerbation rate for 10 mg, 30 mg, and 100 mg of benralizumab and for placebo were 0.99 per year (95% CI, 0.87 to 1.13), 1.21 per year (95% CI, 1.08 to 1.37), 1.09 per year (95% CI, 0.96 to 1.23), and 1.17 per year (95% CI, 1.04 to 1.32), respectively; the corresponding rate ratios were 0.85 (P = 0.06), 1.04 (P = 0.66), and 0.93 (P = 0.40). At 56 weeks, none of the annualized COPD exacerbation rate ratios for any dose of benralizumab as compared with placebo reached significance in either trial. Types and frequencies of adverse events were similar with benralizumab and placebo.CONCLUSIONS: Add-on benralizumab was not associated with a lower annualized rate of COPD exacerbations than placebo among patients with moderate to very severe COPD, a history of frequent moderate or severe exacerbations, and blood eosinophil counts of 220 per cubic millimeter or greater (Funded by AstraZeneca [GALATHEA and TERRANOVA] and Kyowa Hakko Kirin [GALATHEA]; GALATHEA and TERRANOVA ClinicalTrials.gov numbers, NCT02138916 and NCT02155660.).

The aim of this study was to describe the impact of using bronchodilators on the prevalence of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease in a population-based survey (Platino study). A cluster sampling of subjects 40 years of age or older, representative of the metropolitan areas of 5 Latin American cities (Sao Paulo, Mexico, Montevideo, Santiago and Caracas) was chosen. Spirometry according to ATS standards was done before and after inhalation of 200 micrograms of salbutamol in 5183 subjects. Prevalences of airflow obstruction were estimated using different criteria, in tests done before and after bronchodilator use, and with reference values for pre- or post-bronchodilator use. Bronchodilator testing reduced the overall prevalence of FEV(1)/FVC%0.70 from 21.7% to 14% (35%). In the group with FEV(1)/FVC0.70 after bronchodilator use, 21% were asymptomatic from the respiratory point of view, and lacked significant adverse exposures. Subjects below the 5th percentile for FEV(1)/FVC and FEV(1)/FEV(6) were fewer than those with FEV(1)/FVC0.70, especially among the elderly. More subjects are below the 5th percentile of FEV(1)/FVC and FEV(1)/FEV(6) using reference values for tests after bronchodilator use than using the reference values determined without bronchodilator testing. Testing after bronchodilator use reduces the prevalence of airflow obstruction from 32 to 39% depending on the definition used. In addition, the subjects who were still obstructed after bronchodilator use were the ones who showed more respiratory symptoms and exposure to tobacco and other smokes and dusts, than subjects with reversible obstruction, suggesting an increased specificity for COPD.

- Abstract
The present study has the objective to analyze the spatial distribution of environmental perception of residents (high school students) in the city of Manaus on diseases infectious parasitic diseases related to environmental degradation, from an ecosystem approach in geography of health. Specifically , (1) investigate the spatial distribution of the occurrence of infectious and parasitic diseases related to environmental degradation, deforestation, pollution of soil and water, in the city of Manaus, Brazil; (2) analyze and interpret the knowledge of students on measures for the prevention and control of environmental degradation urban and its relationship with health human; (3) analyze the knowledge of students on measures for the prevention and control of infectious and parasitic diseases; and (4) relate to the perception of the students the spatiality city of Manaus. The cover crop and the first natural resource to suffer the effects of human settlement without planning in the city of Manaus, followed by degradation of soil and water resources. Consequently, results in the production of various diseases related to this environmental degradation, such as dengue, malaria, typhoid fever, Leptospirosis, hepatitis (HAV) and tetanus. Under authorization of research Nº 011.37640.2012/SEDUC-AM, a questionnaire was applied quali-quantitative structured to 241 students inhabitants of all administrative areas North, South, East, West, South Central and Midwest, and that signed the Free and Informed Consent Form. The largest number of cases reported was of Malaria (92,74 % ), hepatitis (4.13 %) with data grouped for HAV, HBV and HCV, Dengue (2.75 %) and accounted for less than 1% of the cases of typhoid fever, leptospirosis and tetanus prevalent in Manaus in the year 2009. The Dengue, typhoid fever, hepatitis A, leptospirosis and tetanus have relation with the precarious conditions of sanitation environmental degradation and the ground (with household waste and needles) and surface waters and consumption of contaminated. The Malaria has relation with the deforestation in irregular occupation of the soil (\"invasion\") in the city of Manaus. residents have average age of 19.89 years (median 19 years; standard deviation of 3.33), being 43,15% of the male gender; 56.85% female. The survey covers 35 districts (56 %) of the 63 officially recognized by the city of Manaus. The inhabitants of the city perceive the place lived, the environmental sanitation, the environment, environmental degradation and the relationship with the production of parasitic diseases, prevention, the risk of becoming ill and dying, differently between the areas North, South, East, West, South and Center-west . The feeling of belonging or not the neighborhoods where they live, the absence of public services important to improve the quality of the environment and of life in the neighborhood, hinder create Links of identity between the resident and the city Manaus.

Previous studies reported alterations in salivary parameters in cerebral palsy (CP) individuals; however, none of these considered oral motor performance as possibly responsible for these conditions. The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of oral motor performance on the nutritional status and salivary parameters in individuals with CP.Forty-three individuals aged 11-19 years-old, with spastic CP were included in this study. Oral motor performance was evaluated using the Oral Motor Assessment Scale, which classified the individuals into two groups: subfunctional or functional. Unstimulated saliva was collected and the flow rate was calculated (ml/min). Salivary osmolality was measured using a freezing point depression osmometer. Blood samples were collected to evaluate complete blood count, total protein, albumin/globulin ratio and transferrin levels. The subfunctional (n = 21) and the functional group (n = 22) did not differ regarding sex (P = 0.193), however the functional group was older (P = 0.023) and had a higher mean BMI (P0.001). The subfunctional CP group presented a reduction in salivary flow rate (36.4%) (P0.01) and an increase in salivary osmolality (35.5%) (P0.001) compared to the functional group. Slightly lower values for red blood cells (millions/mm(3) ) (P0.001), hemoglobin (g/dl) (P0.009), hematocrit (%) (P = 0.001), number of platelets (N/mm(3) ), total protein (g/dl) and albumin/globulin ratio (P = 0.003 and P = 0.036, respectively) were determined for the subfunctional group, but within the normal range of normality.Cerebral palsy individuals appear to present impaired adequate hydration due to compromised oral motor performance.

In order to clarify the possible role of N-acetylcysteine (NAC) in the treatment of patients with chronic bronchitis and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), we have carried out a meta-analysis testing the available evidence that NAC treatment may be effective in preventing exacerbations of chronic bronchitis or COPD and evaluating whether there is a substantial difference between the responses induced by low (≤600 mg per day) and high (>600 mg per day) doses of NAC. The results of the present meta-analysis (13 studies, 4155 COPD patients, NAC n=1933; placebo or controls n=2222) showed that patients treated with NAC had significantly and consistently fewer exacerbations of chronic bronchitis or COPD (relative risk 0.75, 95% CI 0.66–0.84; p

Musician, writer, critic and musical aesthete, as well as a jurist, the German author from Königsberg was also a painter. Ekphrasis has its origins in ancient oratory, and eventually found application in the plastic arts, especially painting, renewing its relevance for literature; it can also be identified in music, which makes it a consequential intermedial device in that author s work. Organized in three parts, this research seeks to survey the interpenetration of music and painting in Hoffmann s literary works, as well as the critical-theoretical intuitions therein. The first chapter presents an artistic-biographical topography of Hoffmann, showcasing his activities in painting and music. The second chapter emphasizes theoretical approaches dealing with merging borders in poetical representation, namely, the concepts of ekphrasis, intermediality, Pathosformel and the Serapiontic principle. Among the various theorists at the foundations of this work are Lessing, Clüver, Schröter, Bruhn, Mai Al-Nakib, Kumbier and Warburg, drawing from Tomlinson s theories, and put to dialogue with Hoffmann s own theories. Finally, the third chapter examines the ekphrastic device in two short stories, Die Fermate (The Fermata) and Rat Krespel (Counselor Krespel). These analyses afford the conclusion that the ekphrastic topos leads to the idea of metamusical narrative.

The present research is about one of the most basic elements of Western music: harmony. Harmony is the study of the simultaneous combination of sounds, the socalled chords, and investigates the myriad possibilities of organizing them. Despite all the number and variety of publications on harmony, there still is an important, not yet bridged gap: publications that originate in the classical music world do not include more or less recent popular repertoire, and publications that originate in the popular music world do not include so many materials that have been long established by the historic tradition of harmony studies. This gap has been producing much theoretical, conceptual and epistemological incongruence. Given the growing space allotted to popular music inthe academic sphere, and our need to adjust the traditional music academe to this new reality, we deemed useful to work with the notion of conceptual profile, an educational device that allows for the cohabitation of different concepts of a subject. We call the latter conceptual zones. As we realized that other views on harmony coexist with thetwo theoretical trends mentioned above, and because our didactic model lays out the comprehension of the contexts and practical limitations of all views, we propose a conceptual profile of harmony. We start off our work by defining and describing such already existing conceptual domains. Then we propose a new zone which takes advantage of, revises, criticizes and integrates the available tools of other epistemological realms, and also creates new explanatory devices. And finally we perform a discourse analysis of a live teaching-learning situation that we enacted and filmed. This field material is then used to defend the profile that we propose and suggest didactic procedures for the future. In order to achieve our goal we use an educational analytical tool which values dialogue and the comparison of different perspectives, so as to interpret data according to the polysemic character of the notion of conceptual profile.
