The postoperative course was uneventful with high daily doses of granulocyte colony-stimulating factor and antimicrobial therapy. The purpose of this report is to highlight the importance of immediate appendectomy in neutropenic patients, wherein low absolute neutrophil count should not be considered as a contraindication for urgent surgical procedure. Keywords: cyclic neutropenia, appendectomy, absolute neutrophil count (ANC)
