Reactie op het artikel van Jan van Bakel en Lodewijk Stuyt (2022) over gecontroleerde buisdrainage en wel een deel daarvan, namelijk de toepassing van waterinfiltratiesystemen in het veenweidengebied. De auteurs zijn namens of via een aantal overheden betrokken bij de reductie van bodemdaling en de broeikasgasuitstoot uit veengebieden op basis van het Klimaatakkoord, met name bij (veenweiden)waterinfiltratiesystemen. Vanuit deze betrokkenheid hebben zij veel ervaring opgedaan met (recente) praktijkgerichte pilots. Zij zijn het oneens met het negatieve daglicht waarin (veenweiden)infiltratiesystemen worden gezet in de aanbevelingen. Wel onderstrepen zij het belang van de problematiek genoemd in het artikel en voegen daar graag hun inzichten over de mogelijkheden voor doorontwikkeling aan toe om te bereiken dat op basis van de meest actuele kennis keuzes gemaakt kunnen worden.

Het eerste doel van deze notitie is om duidelijk te maken aan de opdrachtnemer voor KIJK welke keuzes al zijn gemaakt. Dit bevat de basis van het vastgestelde voorkeursalternatief. Daarnaast is het doel om de ontwerpvrijheid te beschrijven die in de planuitwerking moet worden ingevuld.

In het project ‘Toekomstbestendige polder Lange Weide’ is in 2018 en 2019 polderbreed 310 hectare waterinfiltratiesysteem aangelegd. Het doel van dit project is het remmen van de bodemdaling en het verminderen van de uitstoot van broeikasgassen. Samen met de grondeigenaren doet het waterschap onderzoek naar effecten en ervaringen en peilbeheer van het waterinfiltratiesysteem. In een eerdere publicatie zijn de bevindingen en inzichten uit 2017 tot en met 2019 beschreven. In deze rapportage zijn de bevindingen en inzichten uit 2020 en 2021 beschreven. Nieuwe ontwikkelingen in het gebied zijn onder andere de aanleg van onderwaterbeschoeiing en de inrichting van een meetlocatie voor het Nationaal Onderzoeksprogramma Broeikasgassen Veenweiden. De monitoring bestaat uit de onderdelen grondwaterstand, bodemhoogte, ecologie en waterkwaliteit. Ook de ervaringen met het waterinfiltratiesysteem en het dynamisch peilbeheer worden meegenomen.

Contains fulltext : 245526.pdf (Publisher’s version ) (Open Access), OBJECTIVES: To report the variation in computed tomography perfusion (CTP) arterial input function (AIF) in a multicenter stroke study and to assess the impact this has on CTP results. METHODS: CTP datasets from 14 different centers were included from the DUtch acute STroke (DUST) study. The AIF was taken as a direct measure to characterize contrast bolus injection. Statistical analysis was applied to evaluate differences in amplitude, area under the curve (AUC), bolus arrival time (BAT), and time to peak (TTP). To assess the clinical relevance of differences in AIF, CTP acquisitions were simulated with a realistic anthropomorphic digital phantom. Perfusion parameters were extracted by CTP analysis using commercial software (IntelliSpace Portal (ISP), version 10.1) as well as an in-house method based on block-circulant singular value decomposition (bSVD). RESULTS: A total of 1422 CTP datasets were included, ranging from 6 to 322 included patients per center. The measured values of the parameters used to characterize the AIF differed significantly with approximate interquartile ranges of 200-750 HU for the amplitude, 2500-10,000 HU.s for the AUC, 0-17 s for the BAT, and 10-26 s for the TTP. Mean infarct volumes of the phantom were significantly different between centers for both methods of perfusion analysis. CONCLUSIONS: Although guidelines for the acquisition protocol are often provided for centers participating in a multicenter study, contrast medium injection protocols still vary. The resulting volumetric differences in infarct core and penumbra may impact clinical decision making in stroke diagnosis. Item does not contain fulltext, BACKGROUND: Risk stratification in men with suspicion of prostate cancer (PCa) requires reliable diagnostic tests, not only to identify high-grade PCa, also to minimize the overdetection of low-grade PCa, and reduction of "unnecessary" prostate MRIs and biopsies. This study aimed to evaluate the SelectMDx test to detect high-grade PCa in biopsy-naïve men. Subsequently, to assess combinations of SelectMDx test and multi-parametric (mp) MRI and its potential impact on patient selection for prostate biopsy. METHODS: This prospective multicenter diagnostic study included 599 biopsy-naïve patients with prostate-specific antigen level ≥3 ng/ml. All patients underwent a SelectMDx test and mpMRI before systematic transrectal ultrasound-guided biopsy (TRUSGB). Patients with a suspicious mpMRI also had an in-bore MR-guided biopsy (MRGB). Histopathologic outcome of TRUSGB and MRGB was used as reference standard. High-grade PCa was defined as ISUP Grade Group (GG) ≥ 2. The primary outcome was the detection rates of low- and high-grade PCa and number of biopsies avoided in four strategies, i.e., (1) SelectMDx test-only, (2) mpMRI-only, (3) SelectMDx test followed by mpMRI when SelectMDx test was positive (conditional strategy), and (4) SelectMDx test and mpMRI in all (joint strategy). A positive SelectMDx test outcome was a risk score of ≥-2.8. Decision curve analysis (DCA) was performed to assess clinical utility. RESULTS: Prevalence of high-grade PCa was 31% (183/599). Thirty-eight percent (227/599) of patients had negative SelectMDx test in whom biopsy could be avoided. Low-grade PCa was not detected in 35% (48/138) with missing 10% (18/183) high-grade PCa. Yet, mpMRI-only could avoid 49% of biopsies, not detecting 4.9% (9/183) of high-grade PCa. The conditional strategy reduces the number of mpMRIs by 38% (227/599), avoiding biopsy in 60% (357/599) and missing 13% (24/183) high-grade PCa. Low-grade PCa was not detected in 58% (80/138). Contains fulltext : 232928.pdf (Publisher’s version ) (Open Access), PURPOSE: The aim of this study was to evaluate whether the addition of brain CT imaging data to a model incorporating clinical risk factors improves prediction of ischemic stroke recurrence over 5 years of follow-up. METHODS: A total of 638 patients with ischemic stroke from three centers were selected from the Dutch acute stroke study (DUST). CT-derived candidate predictors included findings on non-contrast CT, CT perfusion, and CT angiography. Five-year follow-up data were extracted from medical records. We developed a multivariable Cox regression model containing clinical predictors and an extended model including CT-derived predictors by applying backward elimination. We calculated net reclassification improvement and integrated discrimination improvement indices. Discrimination was evaluated with the optimism-corrected c-statistic and calibration with a calibration plot. RESULTS: During 5 years of follow-up, 56 patients (9%) had a recurrence. The c-statistic of the clinical model, which contained male sex, history of hyperlipidemia, and history of stroke or transient ischemic attack, was 0.61. Compared with the clinical model, the extended model, which contained previous cerebral infarcts on non-contrast CT and Alberta Stroke Program Early CT score greater than 7 on mean transit time maps derived from CT perfusion, had higher discriminative performance (c-statistic 0.65, P = 0.01). Inclusion of these CT variables led to a significant improvement in reclassification measures, by using the net reclassification improvement and integrated discrimination improvement indices. CONCLUSION: Data from CT imaging significantly improved the discriminatory performance and reclassification in predicting ischemic stroke recurrence beyond a model incorporating clinical risk factors only.

In een pilot is een workflow ontwikkeld die moet leiden tot geautomatiseerde modelbouw. Hiermee kunnen verschillende sturingen getest worden om zo relatief eenvoudig tot de beste instellingen en aanpassingen van kunstwerken te komen. In het in dit project ontwikkelde RTC-script zijn de volgende sturingen opgenomen; PID, interval en tijdseries op stuwen en gemalen. Dit maakt het mogelijk om in de toekomst kunstwerken slimmer te sturen.

Sinds 2013 maakt Wetterskip Fryslân belangrijke stappen op het gebied van assetmanagement. Tegelijkertijd lukte het, ondanks onder meer een programmaplan, een strategisch assetmanagementplan, een opleidingsplan en een visie op assetmanagement, slecht om de rest van de organisatie mee te nemen in dit proces. Bij het maken van de beheer- en onderhoudsplannen in 2018 werd het roer omgegooid en gekozen voor een agile manier van ontwikkelen. Het resultaat is dat assetmanagement langzaam maar zeker gaat leven in de organisatie.

Contains fulltext : 220779.pdf (publisher's version ) (Open Access), BACKGROUND: Microspheres loaded with radioactive (166)Ho ((166)Ho-MS) are novel particles for radioembolisation and intratumoural treatment. Because of the limited penetration of beta radiation, quantitative imaging of microsphere distribution is crucial for optimal intratumoural treatment. Computed tomography (CT) may provide high-resolution and fast imaging of the distribution of these microspheres, with lower costs and widespread availability in comparison with current standard single-photon emission tomography (SPECT) and magnetic resonance imaging. This phantom study investigated the feasibility of CT quantification of (166)Ho-MS. METHODS: CT quantification was performed on a phantom with various concentrations of HoCl and Ho-MS to investigate the CT sensitivity and calibrate the CT recovery. (166)Ho-MS were injected into ex vivo tissues, in VX-2 cancer-bearing rabbits, and in patients with head-neck cancer, to demonstrate sensitivity and clinical visibility. The amount of Ho-MS was determined by CT scanning, using a density-based threshold method and compared with a validated (166)Ho SPECT quantification method. RESULTS: In the phantom, a near perfect linearity (least squares R(2) > 0.99) between HU values and concentration of (166)Ho was found. Ex vivo tissue experiments showed an excellent correlation (r = 0.99, p < 0.01) between the dose calibrator, SPECT, and CT imaging. CT recovery was on average 86.4% ex vivo, 76.0% in rabbits, and 99.1% in humans. CONCLUSION: This study showed that CT-based quantification of Ho microspheres is feasible and is a high-resolution alternative to SPECT-based determination of their local distribution.

Currently, at first steady state, a third of pediatric kidney transplant recipients has a tacrolimus pre-dose concentration within the target range. We investigated whether adaptation of the starting dose according to a validated dosing algorithm could increase this proportion. METHODS: This was a multi-center, single-arm, prospective trial with a planned interim analysis after 16 patients, in which the tacrolimus starting dose was based on bodyweight, cytochrome P450 3A5 genotype, and donor status (living vs. deceased donor). RESULTS: At the interim analysis, 31% of children had a tacrolimus pre-dose concentration within the target range. As the original dosing algorithm was poorly predictive of tacrolimus exposure, the clinical trial was terminated prematurely. Next, the original model was improved by including the data of the children included in this trial, thereby doubling the number of children in the model building cohort. Data were best described with a two-compartment model with inter-individual variability, allometric scaling, and inter-occasion variability on clearance. Cytochrome P450 3A5 genotype, hematocrit, and creatinine influenced the tacrolimus clearance. A new starting dose model was developed in which the cytochrome P450 3A5 genotype was incorporated. Both models were successfully internally and externally validated. CONCLUSIONS: The weight-normalized starting dose of tacrolimus should be higher in patients with a lower bodyweight and in those who are cytochrome P450 3A5 expressers.

Contains fulltext : 229131.pdf (publisher's version ) (Open Access), In the diagnosis and prognosis of prostate cancer (PCa), the serum prostate-specific antigen test is widely used but is associated with low specificity. Therefore, blood-, urinary- and tissue-based biomarker tests have been developed, intended to be used in the diagnostic and prognostic setting of PCa. This review provides an overview of commercially available biomarker tests developed to be used in several clinical stages of PCa management. In the diagnostic setting, the following tests can help selecting the right patients for initial and/or repeat biopsy: PHI, 4K, MiPS, SelectMDx, ExoDx, Proclarix, ConfirmMDx, PCA3 and PCMT. In the prognostic setting, the Prolaris, OncotypeDx and Decipher test can help in risk-stratification of patients regarding treatment decisions. Following, an overview is provided of the studies available comparing the performance of biomarker tests. However, only a small number of recently published head-to-head comparison studies are available. In contrast, recent research has focused on the use of biomarker tests in relation to the (complementary) use of multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging in PCa diagnosis.

De politieke geschiedenis van Baden en van Württemberg in de negentiende eeuw kenden veel overeenkomsten. Het zijn twee middelgrote Duitse staten uit dezelfde regio. Beide staten waren relatief liberaal, vergeleken met de rest van Duitsland. Beide staten werden in 1866 geen onderdeel van de Noord-Duitse Bond en kwamen pas in 1871 in een politieke unie met Pruisen. Toch kenden de twee staten één groot, onderbelicht politiek-historisch verschil; in de jaren ’60 werden weliswaar in beide staten de eerste moderne politieke partijen gevormd, maar in Baden gebeurde dit naar aanleiding van een religieus conflict, in Württemberg werden partijen gevormd over de het vraagstuk van Duitse eenwording. Dit heeft geleid tot totaal andere politieke partijen in Baden dan in Württemberg. Het belangrijkste verschil was dat Württemberg hierdoor een politieke partij met brede electorale steun had die nadrukkelijk anti-Pruisisch was, de Volkspartei. De topprioriteit van deze partij was een Württembergse aansluiting bij de Noord-Duitse Bond te voorkomen. De partij had potentie om daarin te slagen, maar deed dat niet, doordat de cruciale moties in de landdag die voor de Württembergse aansluiting bij Pruisen hadden gezorgd, gemaakt waren in 1867 en in 1870. In 1867 was de Volkspartei nog niet ver genoeg ontwikkeld om het debat te bepalen. In 1870 had het net de verkiezingen verloren. Partijen in Baden en Württemberg hebben dus geen enorme invloed gehad op het verloop van de Duitse eenwording, maar dat de Volkspartei daar wel heel dichtbij kwam suggereert dat het voltooien van de Duitse eenwording onder Pruisische heerschappij minder onvermijdelijk was dan sommige historici beweren. Daarnaast benadrukt het ook dat Baden en Württemberg niet een en dezelfde rol hebben gespeeld bij de Duitse eenwording, zoals hun overeenkomsten misschien doen denken. In Baden was er niet of nauwelijks oppositie tegen aansluiting bij Pruisen en in Württemberg was deze heel sterk.

Als alternatief voor de geannuleerde CASA-avond Go West hebben we het programma van toen vertaald naar een filmtrilogie met presentaties op locatie: Het Dorp, De Koepel & De Beek. Hier deel 1: landschapsarchitect Harro de Jong (Buro Harro) over de vernieuwbouw van Mies Bouwmans erfenis. Het Dorp is een wijk in Arnhem die in 1962 als woongemeenschap voor gehandicapten werd ingericht. De bekende televisiepresentatrice Mies Bouwman zamelde in een speciaal programma miljoenen guldens in voor het project, maar tientallen jaren na dato was Het Dorp toe aan een grondige vernieuwing van gebouwen en herinrichting van het terrein. Daarbij wordt ernaar gestreefd om het gebied uit zijn relatieve isolement te halen en beter te verbinden met de omliggende stad, waaronder het verwijderen van enkele muren en hekken en een storende autoweg veranderen in een wandel- en fietsweg. Genieten van het uitzicht, wandelen en sport en spel in de bossen en parken op het terrein worden beter en aangenamer gemaakt voor het groene welbevinden van de gehele omgeving.

Voor u ligt de samenvatting van de eerste bevindingen uit het project ‘Toekomstbestendige polder Lange Weide’. In dit unieke project hebben 28 grondeigenaren samen 310 hectare waterinfiltratiesysteem aangelegd om zo bodemdaling te remmen en de uitstoot van broeikasgassen te verminderen. Extra bijzonder is dat in deze polder ook ervaringen worden opgedaan met dynamisch peilbeheer van het oppervlaktewater. Dit om inzicht te krijgen in het effect van dit type peilbeheer op de werking van het waterinfiltratiesysteem.

Contains fulltext : 200207.pdf (Publisher’s version ) (Open Access), BACKGROUND: Limited treatment options exist for patients with locoregional recurrences of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). In the palliative setting, a single session, minimally invasive, and relatively safe therapy is desirable. This case series illustrates the feasibility of a direct intratumoral injection of radioactive holmium-166 microspheres (HoMS) in patients as a palliative treatment for recurrent HNSCC. PATIENTS AND METHODS: In this retrospective analysis, patients with already reirradiated irresectable recurrent HNSCC, for whom palliative chemotherapy was unsuccessful or impossible, were offered microbrachytherapy with HoMS. The intratumoral injection was administered manually under ultrasound guidance. Parameters scored were technical feasibility (i.e. administration, leakage, and distribution), clinical response (response evaluation criteria in solid tumors 1.1), and complications (Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events 4.3). RESULTS: From 2015 to 2017, three patients were treated. None of the patients experienced adverse events; however, therapeutic effects were minimal. Technical difficulties, including precipitating of microspheres and high intratumoral pressure, resulted in suboptimal distribution of the microspheres. CONCLUSION: Intratumoral injections with HoMS are minimally invasive and relatively safe in palliation of HNSCC patients. Careful patient selection and improved administration techniques are required to provide a more effective treatment. Further investigation of this novel treatment modality should be carried out because of the absence of side effects and lack of other treatment options.

Gemeenten zijn samenwerkingspartner van Waterklaar en spelen een belangrijke rol bij het simuleren van particuliere eigenaren tot het afkoppelen hemelwater van eigen verhard oppervlak. Van de particuliere eigenaren zijn de bedrijven een grote speler, zij hebben veel verhard oppervlak. Het is dus interessant te onderzoeken dat ondanks de stimuleringsregeling, die de gemeenten in Noord- en Midden-Limburg hanteren, het in de praktijk lastig blijkt bedrijven over te laten gaan tot afkoppelen hemelwater. Naar aanleiding van een korte analyse van het projectplan van Waterklaar, een kennismaking met de projectorganisatie Waterklaar en een intake met de opdrachtgever zijn de volgende hoofd- en onderzoeksvragen gedefinieerd. De hoofdvraag van dit onderzoek luidt: Hoe kunnen gemeenten de bestaande stimuleringsregeling “afkoppelen hemelwater” het meest effectief inzetten bij bedrijven in Noord- en Midden-Limburg?

Previous research indicated that negative attitudes towards prematurity can negatively impact parenting behavior toward their premature infant. The present study investigated the mediating role of overprotection and nurturance (e.g. warmth) in the association between prematurity stereotyping and internalizing problem behavior of premature children (5-12 years). Dutch parents (N = 71) completed an online survey measuring their implicit attitudes towards prematurity, their parenting behavior and current behavioral problems of their premature children. The results revealed that more negative attitudes towards prematurity were not associated with more negative rearing practices, such as overprotection and nurturance, and subsequent internalizing problems in prematurely born children. These findings indicated that interventions specifically targeted to premature children might be effective already. However, further research is necessary to confirm this finding.

Item does not contain fulltext, BACKGROUND: The aim of this study was to develop a population pharmacokinetic model of tacrolimus in paediatric patients at least 1 year after renal transplantation and simulate individualised dosage regimens. PATIENTS AND METHODS: We included 54 children with median age of 11.1 years (range 3.8-18.4 years) with 120 pharmacokinetic profiles performed over 2 to 4 h. The pharmacokinetic analysis was performed using the non-linear mixed-effects modelling software (NONMEM((R))). The impact of covariates including concomitant medications, age, the cytochrome P450 (CYP) CYP3A5*3 gene and the adenosine triphosphate binding cassette protein B1 (ABCB1) 3435 C-->T gene polymorphism on tacrolimus pharmacokinetics was analysed. The final model was externally validated on an independent dataset and dosing regimens were simulated. RESULTS: A two-compartment model adequately described tacrolimus pharmacokinetics. Apparent oral clearance (CL/F) was associated with weight (allometric scaling) but not age. Children with lower weight and CYP3A5 expressers required higher weight-normalised tacrolimus doses. CL/F was inversely associated with haematocrit (P < 0.05) and gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase (gammaGT) (P < 0.001) and was increased by 45 % in carriers of the CYP3A5*1 allele (P < 0.001). CL/F was not associated with concomitant medications. Dose simulations show that a daily tacrolimus dose of 0.2 mg/kg generates a pre-dose concentration (C 0) ranging from 5 to 10 microg/L depending on the weight and CYP3A5 polymorphism. The median area under the plasma concentration-time curve (AUC) corresponding with a tacrolimus C 0 of 4-8 microg/L was 97 h.microg/L (interquartile range 80-120). CONCLUSIONS: In patients beyond the first year after transplantation, there is a cumulative effect of CYP3A5*1 polymorphism and weight on the tacrolimus C 0. Children with lower weight and carriers of the CYP3A5*1 allele have higher weight-normalised tacrolimus dose requirements.

Dit rapport evalueert de huidige Warmtewet en draagt oplossingsrichtingen aan voor de geïdentificeerde knelpunten. Tevens adviseert het rapport over de benodigde veranderingen in het marktontwerp rondom warmte om de beleidsdoelstellingen te kunnen realiseren. Speciale aandacht wordt hierbij besteed aan de benodigde marktorganisatiemodellen en de wijze waarop de tariefbescherming van gebonden afnemers vormgegeven zou moeten worden. Daarnaast worden benodigde veranderingen besproken die grotendeels buiten de reikwijdte vallen van de huidige Warmtewet. Dit laatste onderdeel is van belang omdat een verbeterde Warmtewet en een passend marktorganisatiemodel alleen niet voldoende zullen zijn om de in de warmtevisie benoemde trendbreuk te realiseren.

Contains fulltext : 153043.pdf (publisher's version ) (Closed access), PURPOSE: Serum PSA (sPSA) testing has led to the identification of patients with indolent prostate cancer, and inevitably overtreatment has become a concern. Progensa PCA3 urine testing was shown to improve the diagnosis of prostate cancer, but its diagnostic value for aggressive prostate cancer is limited. Therefore, urinary biomarkers that can be used for prediction of Gleason score >/=7 prostate cancer in biopsies are urgently needed. EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN: Using gene expression profiling data, 39 prostate cancer biomarkers were identified. After quantitative PCR analysis on tissue specimens and urinary sediments, eight promising biomarkers for the urinary detection of prostate cancer were selected (ONECUT2, HOXC4, HOXC6, DLX1, TDRD1, NKAIN1, MS4A8B, PPFIA2). The hypothesis that biomarker combinations improve the diagnostic value for aggressive prostate cancer was tested on 358 urinary sediments of an intention-to-treat cohort. RESULTS: A urinary three-gene panel (HOXC6, TDRD1, and DLX1) had higher accuracy [area under the curve (AUC), 0.77; 95% confidence interval (CI), 0.71-0.83] to predict Gleason score >/=7 prostate cancer in biopsies compared with Progensa PCA3 (AUC, 0.68; 95% CI, 0.62-0.75) or sPSA (AUC, 0.72; 95% CI, 0.65-0.78). Combining the three-gene panel with sPSA further improved the predictive accuracy (AUC, 0.81; 95% CI, 0.75-0.86). The accuracy of the three-gene predictive model was maintained in subgroups with low sPSA concentrations. CONCLUSIONS: The urinary three-gene panel (HOXC6, TDRD1, and DLX1) represents a promising tool to identify patients with aggressive prostate cancer, also in those with low sPSA values. The combination of the urinary three-gene panel with sPSA bears great potential for the early diagnosis of patients with clinically significant prostate cancer. Clin Cancer Res; 21(13); 3061-70. Item does not contain fulltext, Increased serotonin serum levels have been proposed to play a key role in pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) by regulating vessel tone and vascular smooth muscle cell proliferation. An intact serotonin system, which critically depends on a normal function of the serotonin transporter (SERT), is required for the development of experimental pulmonary hypertension in rodents exposed to hypoxia or monocrotaline. While these animal models resemble human PAH only with respect to vascular media remodeling, we hypothesized that SERT is likewise required for the presence of lumen-obliterating intima remodeling, a hallmark of human PAH reproduced in the Sugen hypoxia (SuHx) rat model of severe angioproliferative pulmonary hypertension. Therefore, SERT wild-type (WT) and knockout (KO) rats were exposed to the SuHx protocol. SERT KO rats, while completely lacking SERT, were hemodynamically indistinguishable from WT rats. After exposure to SuHx, similar degrees of severe angioproliferative pulmonary hypertension and right ventricular hypertrophy developed in WT and KO rats (right ventricular systolic pressure 60 vs. 55 mmHg, intima thickness 38 vs. 30%, respectively). In conclusion, despite its implicated importance in PAH, SERT does not play an essential role in the pathogenesis of severe angioobliterative pulmonary hypertension in rats exposed to SuHx.

In het beheergebied van hoogheemraadschap De Stichtse Rijnlanden voldoen niet alle waterlichamen aan de KRW-normen voor stikstof en fosfaat. Om in 2027 aan de KRW-doelen te voldoen, heeft het waterschap een opgave om het ‘nutriëntengat’ te dichten. In dit project zijn water- en stoffenbalansen opgesteld van het hoofdwatersysteem om inzicht te krijgen in de herkomst van de nutriënten en de invloed van verschillende bronnen. De resultaten zijn ondersteunend bij het maken van keuzes voor het treffen van kosteneffectieve maatregelen. Tevens is onderzocht of verbetering van de effluentkwaliteit van de rioolwaterzuiveringen kan bijdragen aan het halen van de KRW-doelen.
