Im Juli 2009 wurde der Standard ISO / DIS 26262 veroeffentlicht, der den Stand der Technik bei der Entwicklung sicherheitsrelevanter Fahrzeugfunktionen beschreibt. Startpunkt fuer alle Sicherheitsaktivitaeten nach ISO 26262 sind die Gefahrenanalyse und die Risikobewertung der betrachteten Funktion. Dadurch wird das Risikopotenzial einer Fahrzeugfunktion ohne jegliche Sicherheitsmassnahmen ermittelt und mit dem so genannten Automotive Safety Integrity Level (ASIL) beschrieben. Entsprechend der Ergebnisse der Gefahrenanalyse werden Sicherheitsziele festgelegt, die durch ein entsprechendes Sicherheitskonzept erfuellt werden muessen. Im Beitrag skizziert Continental die Vorgehensweise bei der Gefahrenanalyse an der Funktion Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) und leitet daraus beispielhaft ein funktionales Sicherheitskonzept ab.

The observer design for nonlinear multiple-output systems is shown to be considerably simplified in a decentral approach. The method requires a block-triangular system representation which either can be detected in the system differential equations or may be obtained by a state transformation. The transformation is investigated in detail, and necessary and sufficient conditions for its existence are discussed. Moreover, the method is illustrated by the ball-and-beam example.

Advanced process control of adsorption columns often requires more information than obtained by measurements. In this paper, strategies based on nonlinear distributed parameter state observers are presented to reconstruct the missing information. To minimize the computation effort in real-time applications, the observer design is based on a simplified linear distributed parameter model of an adsorption column. Two approaches are proposed to correct the model errors: first, the estimation of the flow velocity adapts the position of the concentration profiles to the reference system: second, the shape of the spatial profiles is reconstructed by an observer output injection. Both corrections are designed by means of physically and heuristically based considerations. The state correction terms are also used in a model for real counter-current adsorption in order to build an observer for a simulated moving bed adsorption process. The observer convergence is illustrated by computer simulations of a laboratory scale adsorption column.

A knowledge-based simulation model editor for the dynamic process simulator DIVA allows flowsheet generation guided by object-oriented, hierarchically structured knowledge about process-units, and by rules ensuring the consistency of parameters and connections between process-units. A physical property interface helps the user to choose from various calculation methods offered by the simulator's library. Parameters for the substances at hand are retrieved from inhouse and commercially available physical property databases. The tight integration of facilities for experiment control and flowsheet animation will be the basis for future studies in knowledge-based process optimization and process control.

Radiotelescopes are very precise observation instruments which have to meet extremely high demands concerning the positioning accuracy of the reflector. For a 30-m- and a 10-m-telescope oscillation models suitable for the controller design are determined and identified. Moreover, the design and use of state and output feedback controllers for the drives of both telescopes are described
