Computer security is a fundamental part of an organization, especially in Higher Education institutions, where there is very sensitive information, capable of being vulnerable by diffeerent methods of intrusion, the most common being free access through wireless points. The main objective of this research is to analyze the impact of the open source tools in charge of managing the security information of the wireless network, such as OSSIM, a set of active and passive components used to manage events that generate tra c within the network. net. This research exposes the use of free software as a viable option of low cost to solve the problems that a ict student sta , such as lack of access to academic services, problems of wireless interconnectivity, with the purpose to restore confidence in students in the Use of the services offered by the institution for research-related development, guaranteeing free and free access to the internet. The level of dissatisfaction on the part of the students con rms the problem presented at the Technical University of Babahoyo, thus confirming the positive influence of the Open-Source tools for the institution’s wireless security.

Rain attenuation is one of the main detrimental effects on the performance of wireless telecommunications systems operating in frequencies above 10 GHz. Mitigation of its impacts requires, among other things, the use of rain attenuation models adequate to local climatic characteristics in which the communications systems will be implemented. In this paper, a modified version of the ITU-R Recommendation ITU-R.P.530-17 prediction method is proposed. The model maintains the concept of the distance correction factor used in the ITU-R model, but considers the full rainfall rate distribution. To derive the model, a nonlinear regression adjustment is performed based on results from measurements carried out in temperate and tropical climate. Subsequently, a fine-tuning of the model parameters is carried out using the computational intelligence technique, Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). The accuracy of the proposed model, evaluated by the root mean square error (RMSE), is higher than that of several tested models for unavailability percentages of time in the range from 0.001% to 0.1%.

In this article, we propose the use of a new simple Bayesian classifier (SBND) that quickly learns a Markov boundary of the class variable and a network structure relating class variables and the said boundary. This model is compared with other Bayesian classifiers, then experimental tests are carried out for which 31 well-known ICU databases and two bases of artificial variables have been used. With these databases we compare the results obtained by such algorithms studied in the state of the art such as Naive Bayes, TAN, BAN, RPDag, CRPDag, SBND and combinations with different metrics such as K2, BIC, Akaike, BDEu. The experimental work was done in Elvira software.

The present article is the result of a research project executed by the Catholic University of Cuenca of Canar Computer Engineering program: “Proposed Controls For Minimizing The Risks Arising From The Internet And Social Networks On High School Students In The Urban Center of Canton Canar”. A Diagnosis of the internet and social networks use was performed as a means to determine digital vulnerabilities. Through a theoretical study it was determined which threats are most commonly inherent in utilizing the internet and social networks. Surveys were applied to 40% of enrolled students. Given surveys then indicated the common uses of the internet, social networks, and potential vulnerabilities that could be exploited by malicious people. Results determined that threats with higher risks are related to violations of privacy, which are visible to behavioral tendencies in the adolescents placing them in vulnerable situations susceptible to privacy violations.

This work was developed for the propagation characteristics of outdoor environments in the cities of Quito-Ecuador and Caracas-Venezuela, using one of the most innovating propagation models used in the planning and dimensioning (PyD) of Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT), specifically Recommendation ITU-R P.1812-3. For this, measurements of the received electric field level (Quito) and power level received (Caracas) made for conditions of fixed reception, with DTT standards, were used during the processes followed in both countries for the selection of the DTT standard base. For the development of four versions, the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and genetic algorithm (GA) techniques were applied individually to the measurements mentioned above, which were part of the intelligence computational techniques family. The performance of these versions, in terms of RMSE (Root Mean Square Error), in the prediction of propagation losses in the environments where the measurements were carried out, were compared with the performance of the unmodified version of the recommendation ITU-R P.1812-3, resulting all versions of the developed model here with better performance.

El desarrollo informático de las organizaciones representa el progreso en el logro de las metas de las organizaciones, el COBIT 5 es un modelo para auditar la gestión y control de los sistemas de información y tecnología, orientado a todos los sectores de una organización, es decir, administradores de las tecnologías de información (TI), usuarios y por supuesto, los auditores involucrados en el proceso, por tal razón el objetivo de esta investigación es conocer cómo se ha utilizado en modelo COBIT en la auditoría de los sistemas informáticos de las organizaciones, se aplicó una encuesta de la cual se obtuvo la información pertinente que permite concluir que los sistemas de información representan la oportunidad para el logro de los objetivos organizaciones en congruencia con sus metas corporativas, metas de tecnologías de la información y las metas de los catalizadores por ende es prioridad de los administradores de sistemas informáticos y del gobierno corporativo realizar todas las acciones necesarias para lograrlas y que el modelo COBIT 5 proporciona una visión integral y sistémica del gobierno y la gestión de la empresa TI basada en varios catalizadores, así como que la gestión de la información de la empresa y TI relacionada, incluyen las actividades y responsabilidades tanto de las funciones TI como de las funciones de negocio.
