Abstract This study examines the integration of emerging engineering technologies into STEM education with a focus on the green energy transition. Using a mixed-methods approach, including an international student survey conducted via Google Forms, the research identifies key factors influencing the demand for an innovative Master's program in Green Energy. Quantitative analysis through JASP software reveals a significant positive correlation between student interest in renewable energy related MSc courses and the perception of improved job opportunities in the green energy sector. Furthermore, the survey results indicate that students prioritize the inclusion of Mechanical, Electrical, and IT skills in the curriculum. Qualitative feedback highlights the critical need for practical skills in new research areas such as nanotechnology, quantum chemistry, Carbon capture, and Solar/Wind-based energy sources to meet the evolving demands of the green energy industry. These findings suggest that academic programs must be restructured to align more closely with the skills required for sustainable energy systems, thereby bridging the gap between academic preparation and market readiness.

This paper aims to evaluate the efficacy of utilizing cooperatives as a technique for promoting local economic development (LED) in the Ubuhlebezwe Local Municipality area. This article outlines the concepts of collaboration and progress in agricultural co-operatives in both developed and underdeveloped countries, with a specific focus on the Republic of South Africa. In August 2013, the Republic of South Africa introduced a new co-operatives statute, known as the co-operative's amendment act, no.6 of 2013, which is based on worldwide principles of co-operation. The articles' findings indicate that there are multiple issues that hinder the establishment of co-operatives as a strategy for local economic development (LED). These issues encompass the lack of financial support from the government, limited prospects in the markets, scarcity of specialized knowledge, and failure to establish monitoring and evaluation of cooperative ventures. The purpose of this study, the researcher uses descriptive and verifiable analysis methods. Verifiable analysis through panel data regression analysis, by choosing the best approach from the Common Effect Model, Fixed Effect Model or Random Effect Model. The research variables consisted of natural resource factors (F_SDA) in the primary sector which were proxied from the contribution of the agriculture, forestry and fisheries sectors as well as the mining and quarrying sector to GDP, Foreign Investment (FDI), Government Expenditure (Blj_P), Average School Length (R_LS), Population Growth (Pert_Pduk) as free variables and Economic Growth (Pert_Ek) and Employment Opportunity Rate (TKK). Secondary data was obtained from BPS, the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia, SatuData of the Ministry of Manpower. The type of data is panel data that was studied during the time period 2010 to 2019. The results of the study show that relatively high economic growth in areas with archipelagic characteristics does not have an impact on increasing employment opportunities. The F_SDA and FDI variables have no effect on economic growth in archipelagic areas, the Blj_P variables are influential and significant, while Pert_Pduk have an effect but not significantly on economic growth in archipelagic areas. The human resource factor variable that is proxied from the average of a long time (R_LS) has an effect but is negative and significant on economic growth in the archipelago. Overall, from this study, it was found that economic growth in the archipelago during the period from 2010 to 2019 was’nt of good quality. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

We identify the causal effects of three types of internships (mandatory intra-curricular, voluntary intra-curricular, and voluntary extra-curricular) among university graduates on job interview and hiring chances, and explore the mechanisms underlying these effects. To this end, we perform a vignette experiment among HR professionals in Belgium. Our results indicate that internships improve one's job interview and hiring chances, with voluntary extra-curricular internships having the strongest effect. With respect to the mechanisms, we find that internships improve employers' perceptions about the job seekers' skills acquired during the educational career, their pre-existing abilities and motivations, and their knowledge of the job content and working conditions. The first two types of perceptions are also found to be strong predictors of the hiring outcomes. Economic, environmental, and social criteria are all being taken into consideration simultaneously when determining pricing policies or inventory levels in sustainable production management. The combination of pricing and inventory policies is an important source of leverage for the efficient management of perishable products. This paper, among the first studies, proposes the problem of devising optimal pricing and inventory management decisions simultaneously where the environmental and social criteria are contributed for perishable complementary products replenished and sold by the same company. This study considers two interrelated price-sensitive linear demand functions to consider the possibility of shortage with both budget and warehouse capacity constraints. Another contribution of the proposed model is to consider an upper bound for environmental pollution and a lower bound for job opportunities as the constraints to the model. As a complex optimization model, the challenge of complexity is addressed by a heuristic algorithm for finding an optimal solution. After an extensive analysis using numerical examples, some managerial insights are concluded from the results. One finding from these analyses confirms that the total capacity of the warehouse, the total available budget, carbon emissions, and variable job opportunities have a high impact on the optimal solution to find a balance between sustainability criteria for making pricing and inventory policies. Since independence, the Algerian University was among the first universities to propose for students a translation and interpreting degree within the Institute of Translation. Over the years, the Institute has evolved to offer, in addition to the bachelor's degree, a master's and PhD degrees in translation. Once graduated, it is evident that students will try to immerse themselves in a wide-ranging job market. In this regard, we will seek in this article to give an overview of the potential professional opportunities available to students who have recently graduated in the aforesaid discipline, in an Algerian context characterized by the presence on the labor market of salaried translators, official translators, and freelance translators -also called freelancers.

The data set explores the driving factors of migration of rural people to the cities. Primary data were collected purposively from 172 farm households from three upazilas of kishoreganj district in Bangladesh. Among 172 households, 89 households had at least one migrant member and 83 households were without any migrant member. Probit model was used to analyze factors of migration decision at the household level. Data set reveals that various factors motivate the decision of the farm households for their member to move into the city. Among which household head age, number of active male member in the family and value of the household asset holding significantly influence migration decision. Beside econometric analysis, household's perception on different motivating factors of migration was also assessed. Most of the households perceived that too many family members, poor living condition, migrant's family influence and job availability in the city mostly motivate the people for migration into the city along with other driving factors.

Early investments in climate change research, policy, and planning focused heavily on climate mitigation—efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Adaptation initiatives are essential to the resilience of the transportation system in the face of increasingly severe climate threats; the failure to adapt will result in repair and recovery efforts absorbing an ever-increasing share of limited transportation resources. The growing emphasis on climate adaptation has created a demand for professionals with a new, interdisciplinary skillset. However, the pathways for developing the skills and competencies for adaptation careers in the transportation field are not well established. The knowledge base for climate adaptation is changing rapidly and the climate adaptation process itself is inherently complex. Training and educational opportunities in climate adaptation are increasing, but remain relatively limited. To understand current climate adaptation workforce development needs, researchers at the University of Vermont surveyed state departments of transportation and metropolitan planning organizations about training needs and opportunities at their agencies and analyzed a survey issued by the American Society of Adaptation Professionals as part of their mentorship program. The development of the national and regional economies is largely aided by the agricultural sector, which plays a significant role in both. Agriculture's human resources are crucial in the development of sustainable agriculture. Youth play a crucial part in the agricultural industry, but there is a problem with the lack of enthusiasm among young people in careers in agriculture. In the form of attention or desire, interest is a liking or tendency of the heart toward something. Interest develops spontaneously or manifests on its own as a reaction to a strong fondness and sense of attachment to particular activities or items. A person's interest motive is a factor that ensures a person's alignment with his work activities. One aspect that guarantees a person's alignment with his professional activities is his interest motive. Because a person's achievements are a combination of their talents and interests, a person's interests also influence how well they succeed at various forms of job. In Dusun Selatan Subdistrict, Barito Selatan Regency, Central Kalimantan, this study intends to investigate young interest in working in the agricultural industry and the factors that influence such desire. Primary data collected through interviews and surveys with respondents made up the used data. The study was conducted in Dusun Selatan Subdistrict, Barito Selatan Regency, Central Kalimantan, and 150 young individuals, ages 15 to 24, were included in the sample. All the young people in the relevant age group who could be discovered in Jelapat Village, Tanjung Jawa Village, Sababilah Village, and Pararapak Village were proportionally sampled. Using a straightforward data tabulation method and presenting the results as a description, this study examined the desire of young people to work in the agricultural sector. In analyzing the factors that influence the interest of youth to work in the agricultural sector using inferential analysis with a binary logistic regression model. The study's findings indicated that the interest of youth to work in the agricultural sector in Dusun Selatan District were interested in working was 70.7% and it was concluded as such. By examining three indicators, namely pleasure, interest, and involvement in agricultural work. According to the results of the binary logistic regression test, the main factors of the youth's parents' occupation, land ownership, and agricultural studies strongly influence the interest of youth to work in the agricultural sector in Dusun Selatan District. Every young person's likelihood of being interested in a career in agriculture will improve by 2.9 times. Youth interest in working in the agricultural sector will increase by 10.7 times for every youth who owns agricultural land. Every young person who has taken agriculture education has a chance to be 2.8 times more interested in a career in agriculture.

This study is a participation to examine the rural-urban migration flows in Algeria using Harris and Todaro model that focus on the economic factors, especially the difference of wages and the job opportunities. The available data shows that the rural-urban migration in Algeria responds to the difference on wage level, because the wages on urban areas were always higher. However, it is important to take into consideration the historical background during the colonial period and the 10 years the political instability during the 1990s that have had accelerated the movement of the population. It is also worth mentioning that, despite the policies adopted for objective to redistribute the population, the population is always concentrated on the north part, which lead to the development of shantytowns around major cities, especially the capital Algiers.

Small Medium and Micro Enterprises (SMMEs) have made remarkable contributions to enhancing the economic growth of South Africa. The emergence of COVID-19 retarded the growth of SMMEs due to the lockdown imposed by the government on the 23rd of March, 2020. This study investigated the impact of COVID-19 on SMMEs and the future sustainability measures. To achieve the objectives of this study, a systematic review was adopted and 150 articles were downloaded from various databases for the study. Findings obtained from the study revealed that several authors from different continents have made wide contributions to revive SMMEs amidst COVID-19 disruption. The recommendations made to SMMEs include amplifying their communication networks and adopting e-commerce options, as well as Social Network Sites to reach out to their customers. Other recommendations include the adoption of transactional leadership, strategic management, employee management, financial management, and effective collaboration. The study further recommended that the government should endeavour to provide funding opportunities to SMMEs, improve the provision of infrastructure and enhance the effectiveness of the business environment. The study concludes that the SMMEs that were affected by the interruption of COVID-19 would be revived if the recommendations of this study are applied.

Predicting a workforce crisis for the past twenty years, the transportation field has launched a wide variety of initiatives to increase the future talent pipeline that would choose transportation as a field of choice for study and future careers. This project follows on the premise that increasing awareness of career opportunities is essential to attracting new entrants at an early age, and that awareness building should be dynamic. This includes providing views of who works in the transportation field, what their experiences are, and what they value about their work. This paper hypothesizes that first-person glimpses into transportation careers are just as essential for job seekers as knowing job specs, qualifications, pay scales and opportunities for advancement. In-depth career profiles of workers were developed and showcase individuals, from diverse backgrounds and interests, engaged in work critical to the future of our transportation systems and infrastructure as an inducement to consider future education and training work needed to enter such a field. A number of other initiatives have created occupation and career profiles in public and private agencies. As with other awareness building and talent pipeline development initiatives such efforts need to be made accessible to a wider more diverse audience and metrics for tracking their effectiveness should be developed and implemented. Economic growth is one of the main parameters to evaluate a country's development efficiency. The higher the economic growth, the more productive and advanced the country will be. On the other hand, economic growth is also a strategic step to reduce poverty, which has always been an urgent problem in various parts of the world. Therefore, economic growth is needed to prosper the community through equitable economic growth. The purpose of this paper is to analyze economic growth against poverty. Data analysis used the literature review method from articles sourced from the Science and Technology Index (SINTA). The analysis is based on the latest findings on economic growth and poverty in Indonesia over the last decade. Research findings reveal that the synthesis of economic growth impacts reducing poverty in Indonesia. Furthermore, suppose economic growth is evenly distributed at all levels of society. In that case, the role of government is fair, honest, and responsible. As a result, the competence of human resources increases, and job opportunities will be wide open to absorb workers, positively impacting poverty in Indonesia.

This paper sorts to promote suitable cooperation between China and Madagascar by way of compiling the sentiments of a varying pool of youthful respondents, which can be benefitable to the policy formulation in Madagascar. In achieving the objectives of the research, an extensive literature review was conducted on the subject matter. Further, a mixed method of research design combining quantitative and qualitative methods was adopted. The study findings from the majority of respondents argue that China's belt and road initiative (BRI) will create new business and job opportunities and positively impact policy formulation in Madagascar - although an overwhelming majority also concurred that BRI cooperation would give jobs to more Chinese companies over local companies in Madagascar. The respondents expressed concerns about labor laws, working conditions and the employment of some local workers (in addition to Chinese workers) for BRI projects. The suggested reforms include establishing the appropriate conditions for a strong and well-structured BRI cooperation which will create enough opportunity for both local and Chinese workers to co-exist positively, advancing the spirit of a win-win situation on which the core of the BRI lies. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of simultaneously economic growth, wages, and population growth on employment opportunities in Riau Province. The populationthat will be taken in this study is data collected and taken through BPS data of Riau Province. In this case, the sample is taken as a sample, namely the last 10 years from 2011 - 2020. The method used in sampling this research is Purposive Sampling, namely the technique of determining the sample. With certain considerations or criteria. From the results of R Square (coefficient of determination) that is equal to 53% while the rest is influenced by other variables outside the variables in this study. This indicates that simultaneously the variables of economic growth, wages, and population growth do not have a significant effect on employment opportunities in Riau province during the 2011-2020 period. The results of the correlation test show that the Wage and Employment Opportunity variable has a negative relationship value with a correlation value of - 0.523 because it is in the coefficient interval of 0.00-0.199. The Constitutional Court of South Africa has recently held that there must be a legal protection for the personal cultivation, possession and use of cannabis in the private setting in South Africa. This presupposes that the use of cannabis is decriminalised but at the same time regulated because it was meant to be utilised only in a private setting. However, the socio-economic aspects such as the commercial cultivation, trading and sale of cannabis for purposes of earning income to improve livelihoods and alleviate poverty were overlooked. These aspects are so significant because commercialisation of cannabis would generate taxes and revenues, create employment opportunities and alleviate poverty. Therefore, this paper argued that there should be a commercial cultivation and trade in cannabis for socio-economic benefits. It explained further that the decriminalisation and legal protection granted the personal cultivation, possession and use of cannabis should also be extended and allowed for vast and massive cultivation, trade and sale of cannabis, which will, in turn, foster socio-economic benefits to the people, society and the country. Purpose: Nowadays, gender inequality can be observed in most areas. The study aimed to understand the Career Development of Women in Iranian Sport Management.Methodology: This study was conducted through Grounded Theory. The statistical population comprised the academic elite in sports management, women’s studies, and management. The sample included 17 researchers and managers. For the data analyzed used, a three-step coding was completed. The axial codes were divided into four levels. Three constructs formed every level.Findings: The outcome is a simple model of constructs and their interrelationships regarding women’s career development in Iranian sports management. By applying this model, the Iranian sports authority and organizations can obtain a crystal-clear image of the complicated road ahead. It can be used to examine the factors and their relationship to improve the current situation and devise a plan for the future of women's career development.Originality: In Iran, sports management is challenged by the lack of women in senior levels of sport or ganizations and the lack of clarity related to developing their career opportunities. In this study, grounded theory has been used to create a realistic picture of the complex situation of women's career advancement paths in sports organizations.

The study aimed to know the negative and positive effects of electronic commerce on the workforce, and to address the provisions that came in the legislation of the countries of the interior with regard to employment in the field of electronic commerce, or international agreements in this regard. The study reached several results, the most important of which are: There are legal obstacles related to regulations and laws in terms of their availability and application between countries. And the absence of an adequate and clear legislative framework regulating e-commerce, especially in developing countries, and that labor legislation did not address any legal rules or provisions related to electronic commerce, unlike many other areas of work that have given rise to many legal provisions. The study recommended several recommendations, the most important of which are: the necessity of building a legal legal system for all areas of e-commerce because it has become a reality, the legal rules that regulate it and attention to legal rules and provisions should be found by labor legislation in countries and organizations for groups of workers who work in the field of electronic commerce, in order to provide legal protection for them , And preserve the economic and social rights of countries in providing job opportunities for the unemployed.

When factory industrial development occurs in a region, people's livelihoods shift from the agrarian to the industrial sectors. The factory industry makes job opportunities available to people from all walks of life. The purpose of this research was to identify the strategies employed by factory workers to ensure their own survival. The study used qualitative descriptive methods. Research was conducted in Mojokerto Regency, Indonesia. The research used observations, interviews, and documentation. The findings were as follows: (1) survival mechanisms used by factory workers to meet their own needs are very diverse. They include doing side work, bringing family members to work, borrowing money from friends and cooperatives, and saving money for family expenses. They are all done to meet their own needs. (2) Workers' attempts to keep working are carried out by operating various machines, demonstrating the best work abilities possible, following factory rules, and attempting to win the approval of superiors so that their employment contracts might be extended. This study investigates the relationship between higher education and entry into the labor market in Ethiopia, with a focus on gender and job opportunities for engineering graduates. It uses a tracer study design to collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data from 158 engineering graduates, 18 employers, and 16 higher education teachers. The findings suggest that higher education study conditions, curriculum relevance, and acquisition of employment skills influenced opportunities for engineering graduates to find employment shortly after graduation. In contrast to much of the existing research, our small sample of 31 female engineering graduates were not disadvantaged in comparison to males when they moved into employment immediately following graduation. Recommendations are suggested for improving the quality and relevance of engineering education to address gender gaps and challenges in higher education and employment. • Circular economy minimizes raw material need, yet unintended social effects exist. • Social LCA can measure the impact of CE on workers, consumers, value chain actors, & others. • Most published work on S-LCA of CE reports impact of material recovery/ recycling not product life extension. • Worker issues like unfair wages & working hours dominate the Social LCA results from CE. • Social LCA methodology needs to be enhanced to fairly account for social impacts of CE. Transitioning to a circular economy (CE) may create unintended social consequences. This systematic review analysed 45 published studies from 2009 to 2023 that evaluate these consequences using social lifecycle assessment (S-LCA), a tool based on the UNEP Guidelines. Most studies focused on circular activities like energy recovery and material recycling rather than reuse, remanufacturing, and repair. Worker-related issues like health, safety or fair wages were more frequently reported than impacts on consumers or society. Challenges in S-LCA application for CE include defining system boundary, identifying affected stakeholders, selecting relevant impact categories and indicators, obtaining verifiable data inventory, and addressing subjectivity in impact interpretation. A solution identified through the review was to enhance stakeholder involvement across industries to identify emerging social risks during the transition to CE. Periodically revising the UNEP Guideline based on these risks will provide a uniform framework for continued use of S-LCA in evaluating the transition to CE. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

According to the testimonies of twelve UACM graduates in Political Science and Urban Administration in 2019, this article attempts to describe and explain the processes of obtaining the degree and how having achieved it has affected their employment. The central thesis is that the UACM is a higher education opportunity for groups that are regularly on its fringes, which favors important educational mobility, abet school itineraries, and diverse work paths that allow a change in living conditions, but it does not necessarily promote a better labor insertion and economic conditions. This research aims to capture the accounting behavior phenomenon in accounting students at private universities in Manado. This research is developed from the study of Lin & Fawzi (2006), Zandi et al.(2013), and Odia & Ogiedu (2013). To find out the inconsistency of these researches, this research focus to study about the studentss intention in choosing an accounting program. Partial least square is used to analyze the research model. This study used questionnaires and deep interviewed to collect the data. It reveals that job opportunities deliver positive effects on accounting studentss attitudes, and these attitudes affect their intention to select the program. The reputation on higher education institutions on accounting do not determine the studentss attitudes to enroll in accounting. Subjective norm do not influence students intention. Perceived behavior control positively encourages the purposeof choosing the accounting program. These findings designate implications for accounting lecturers to explain the benefits, job opportunities, and temporary accounting issues to students. Management of the accounting department needs to re-design their curriculum; thus, it can drive college students to compete and have fun throughout the learning process. Lecturers are obligated to update their learning methods and include educational characters in the provision of material to increase students's motivation.

Research aims: This study aims to examine factors that influence stock investment intention among students. Design/Methodology/Approach: The population in this study are all individual student investors registered at the Indonesia Stock Exchange Investment Gallery in the North Sulawesi and Gorontalo Regions. Sample selection is based on the purposive sampling method. Data analysis was performed with SmartPLS 3.0 M3. Research findings: The results found that student attitudes are determined by employment opportunities in the capital market. In addition, attitudes and behavioral control also have significant effect on student intention. This is different with subjective norms which does not affect student investment intention. Theoretical contribution/ Originality: This research confirm that job opportunity influences students attitude in stock investment. The attitude and perceived behavioral control support students intention to invest stock in capital market. Subjective norms does not effect to students intention, in the context of students in the North Sulawesi and Gorontalo Regions. Practitioner/Policy implication: The implication is the universities need to make policies which is friendly with stock investment, such us Seminars, Workshops, Capital Market Schools, and Securities Traders Representative Courses (WPPE). The Indonesian Stock Exchange (Representative Office) and Exchange Members also need to increase an internship quota in order to support student investment intentions. Research limitation/Implication: This study only examines the stage of student intentions because the sample is student whose main activity is studying and the additional activity is investing.

Gender equality is one of the UN sustainable development goals less discussed in soil science in Indonesia. There is limited information regarding soil science education, and the role of women in Indonesia. This study aimed to provide an overview of the issue of gender equality in Indonesian soil science. We surveyed the number of women soil science students, lecturers, and researchers from 2016 to 2020. Twenty-seven soil science undergraduate programs were identified across government-owned universities in Indonesia. The number of students in soil science is steadily increasing in the last five years, each year with about 1500 new students enroll in soil science. The number of female students also increased with an average proportion of 55% in 2020. However, the number of women academics was only 30%, representing a disproportion of gender equity. The Indonesian soil science society had 35% women members. Students still perceive soil science would be better taught by men lecturers as it involves fieldwork. Nevertheless, more students preferred to be supervised by women lecturers. Our data also revealed that women academics had less opportunity to receive Ph.D. degrees, became professors, and occupied leadership positions in the university. We discuss barriers that hinder women's academics careers in Indonesia, including social and cultural values and organizational barriers. Soil science academics should prepare a gender-equal soil science workforce to the growing population. Thus, supporting the Indonesian soil scientists' women and achieving a more gender balance target is vital for accelerating soil science education, enhancing research opportunities, and managing agriculture to support economic growth.
