2. The Consolation of Untamed Nature in Job 38–41 according to John Chrysostom.

- Abstract
This article discusses John Chrysostom's interpretation of Job 38–41 as consolatory, which stands in stark contrast with an influential modern interpretation of the whirlwind speeches. As an investigation into patristic exegesis, it argues that John's approach is motivated by a desire to guide the reader to the contemplation of untamed nature for the purpose of consolation amid suffering. According to an influential scholarly view, the whirlwind speeches do not so much address Job's concerns as they seem simply to intimidate and belittle him. God puts Job, and humanity, in their place. By contrast, John Chrysostom reads the whirlwind speeches not as a demotion of Job's humanity and a dismissal of his persistent inquiries into divine providence. Rather, the speeches comprise an a fortiori argument for God's special care for human beings, offering consolation to Job in the midst of suffering. This article proceeds in four stages. First, it unpacks John's approach to contemplation of nature as a source for knowledge of providence. Second, it discusses his idea of providence as rooted in philanthrōpia, divine love for humanity. Third, it shows how the contemplation of untamed nature in Job 38–41 can function as a path to discovery of philanthrōpia. Finally, it shows how John constructs Job as an exemplary teacher who leads the reader to their own discovery of consolation. Throughout, it demonstrates how John's arguments are grounded in his reading of the Greek version of Job, notably in places where it differs significantly from the Hebrew. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: To describe the profile and professional trajectory of the obstetrics and gynecology (ObGyn) graduates over the past decade, at a referral university hospital. Methods: A cross‐sectional study was conducted, utilizing a survey that targeted graduates of the ObGyn residency program from the last decade, asking about demographics, medical undergraduate, residency details, post‐residency trajectory, satisfaction levels, and social media usage. A descriptive analysis was performed. Comparative analyses, including gender‐based differences, were assessed using chi‐squared or Fisher exact tests (P < 0.05). Results: Among 126 graduates, 84 agreed to participate (66.67%), predominantly comprising females with an average age of 33 years. Most identified themselves as white. The majority had pursued their undergraduate studies at the same institution (78.6%) and subsequently acquired specialized titles in ObGyn from the national society. Most of them were employed in both public and private sectors (71.08%). Male graduates held the majority of medical shifts in obstetrics. A significant gender‐based salary discrepancy was noted, favoring males. More than half of the professionals utilized social media for work‐related purposes. Many expressed the necessity for supplementary education beyond public health, particularly career management. Conclusion: The findings highlight a predominance of female and white individuals among the graduates. Overall, graduates expressed contentment with their education and professional engagements. A gender‐based income disparity was identified, favoring male graduates. Studies like this can provide insights for improving medical residency education. Synopsis: Graduates were mostly satisfied with ObGyn training, recognizing the increasing role of social media in their activities. A gender‐based income disparity favors male graduates. Unemployment is a global phenomenon, which includes a profound economic and social imbalance, especially in transition economies such as the Republic of Moldova. This paper proposes to explore the complex effects of unemployment on social, psychological and economic life, highlighting both passive measures (unemployment benefits) and active ones (job creation, vocational training programs). It argues that an effective strategy to combat unemployment must combine financial support with active interventions to facilitate rapid reintegration into the labor market and improve the prospects of the unemployed. This analysis is supported by data provided by the National Agency for Employment, in line with international methodologies, highlighting the impact of long-term unemployment on poverty levels and employment prospects in the Republic of Moldova.

Internal control plays an important role in managing the risks of banking system activities. Controllers are always under pressure from control activities due to the bank’s diverse activities. The resignation of internal controllers is relatively common in commercial banks. It is also a matter of concern for the banking and finance industry, which coordinates economic resources for the country, especially when the internal control period occurs again with the pandemic. The study aims to explore the turnover intention of internal controllers in the context of COVID-19 in Vietnamese commercial banks. The study uses the convenience sampling method to collect data from 339 respondents who are working or worked as internal controllers in commercial banks. The study was surveyed in 2023. The study uses quantitative methods for exploratory factor analysis. Ordinary least squares process the data to test the hypotheses. Some factors affect the turnover intention of internal controllers, such as occupational awareness, employment conditions, office environment, and career opportunities, in the context of COVID-19. The result is a useful resource for researchers to comprehensively understand issues related to the turnover intention of internal controllers in the banking industry. The study supports managers of commercial banks in planning the strategic objectives of human resource stabilization for the stable growth of the banking system.

COMPULSIVE gambling , *PSYCHIATRIC diagnosis , *ODDS ratio , *LOGISTIC regression analysis , *UNEMPLOYMENT - Abstract
Unemployment rates are elevated among individuals with disordered gambling, yet the directionality of the relationship remains unclear. The present study investigated paid and unpaid unemployment as risk factors for future gambling disorder (GD). The study employed a case-control design, including all adult Norwegians receiving a GD diagnosis within specialist health services from January 2008 to December 2018 (n = 5,131). These individuals were compared with age- and sex-matched controls from the general population (n = 30,164), as well as controls with somatic and psychiatric diagnoses (n = 30,476). Logistic regressions showed that those in the highest quartile of unpaid unemployment days had more than double the odds (odds ratio [OR] 2.23 (95% CI [1.96, 2.52]) of developing GD compared to those with no unpaid unemployment days. Similarly, higher levels of paid unemployment were also found to increase the odds for GD, with those in the highest quartile having an OR of 1.86 (95% CI [1.50, 2.28]) compared to those with no paid unemployment days. Moreover, an interaction analysis indicated that the association between paid unemployment days and GD was significantly stronger among men compared to women. The present study suggests that both paid and unpaid unemployment constitute risk factors for GD. Programs aiming at obtaining and sustaining work have been found to improve health and future studies should examine if the risk for GD can be similarly mitigated. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Refugees' employment is considered one of the most important indicators of self-sufficiency in the new country in which they resettle. Previous literature examined several factors that were associated with refugee employment, but most studies focused on refugees' sociodemographic characteristics. Hypothesizing that various resources available to refugees after arrival can impact their employment outcomes, this study examined the influence of both the pre- and post-migration factors. The national-level 2019 Annual Survey of Refugees (ASR) data and logistic regression based on 2,031 individuals were used to examine the inquiry. The results showed that while pre-migration factors such as gender and prior work experience mattered, post-migration factors such as job training and English proficiency also showed strong associations for refugees' work experiences in the U.S. Conversely, welfare assistance did not show positive associations. This study motivates future research into the efficacy of resettlement support and welfare benefits, as well as on the meaning of job and self-sufficiency among refugees. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

PERSONNEL management , *UNIVERSITY rankings , *JOB satisfaction , *INDUSTRY 4.0 , *SOCIAL background - Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of family socioeconomic background on university rankings, efforts in VETs, and job satisfaction of university graduates. The family socioeconomic background and mediation potential, which are independent variables, are identified through university rankings to identify mechanisms that affect job satisfaction that may appear to college graduates, and political and practical implications for strengthening job satisfaction are presented. An analysis was conducted using panel data from the Graduate Occupational Mobility Survey, obtained from the Korea Employment Information Service. The data analysis was performed using SPSS21.0 and AMOS22.0. Consequently, the following conclusions were drawn. First, the family socioeconomic background significantly impacts job satisfaction. Second, the influence of family socioeconomic background on job satisfaction is further amplified with university rankings as a parameter. Third, the level of influence of family socioeconomic background on job satisfaction did not change according to the characteristics of VET participation as a mediator. The threat of human labor replaced by technology, the possibility of creating new industries and new jobs, and the diversification of employment types such as platform labor are accelerating with the advent of the 4th Industrial Revolution. Our study of the subjective perception of individual occupations could provide a driving force for maintaining jobs in the long run and leading to success in this changing labor market. The current terminus ante quem for the Epistle of James is the third century, with the first clear quotations of the epistle located in Origen. Aside from a few contentious correspondences with the Apostolic Fathers, no earlier allusions to James have received any serious consideration. I argue that an earlier reference should in fact be detected in Origen's predecessor, Clement of Alexandria. In book 4 of his Stromata, the Alexandrian quotes from 1 Clement 17, a text that presents the figure of Job as an exemplum of humility. Clement significantly alters his source text in such a way that seems to betray knowledge of James, producing a synthesis of Joban tradition in early Christianity. If this claim is substantiated, it would effectively push the terminus ante quem for James back by one generation, to the late second century C.E. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Few research has been done on the use of employee participation strategies in Nigerian higher education, especially when it comes to resolving the complaints of non-academic staff at public universities in Lagos State. The aforementioned amounts to a void that has caused an unaddressed loss of inclusivity. As a result, public university strikes and impasses in negotiations between the government and the Non-Teaching Staff (NTS) Union are typical. In light of the aforementioned context, this study looked at NTS's job satisfaction and employee participation policies in the public universities in Lagos State. 4,800 NTS from Lagos State University and the University of Lagos made up the study population. The study successfully collected 357 copies of the administered questionnaire using a survey research design and a multi-stage sampling technique. The results of the tested hypotheses demonstrated that non-teaching staff members' job satisfaction in Lagos State's public universities was insignificantly impacted by employee participation. The study comes to the conclusion that NTS employees' job satisfaction was insignificantly impacted by their participation. To quell the agitations of NTS, the study suggests that university management review their employee participation policies (i.e., participation in work planning, idea generation, welfare decision, goal setting, and involvement in suggesting improvement). BACKGROUND: Critical life events affect personal and professional lives, change working conditions, and require specific coping strategies. Wisdom is a multidimensional capacity for coping with life problems. Since wisdom can best be investigated in relation to concrete settings and problems, we investigated research employees during a pandemic. Research employees are constantly occupied with uncertainty and problem-solving in their everyday work. Thus, they develop capacities for factual and problem-solving knowledge which can be applied in different situations. OBJECTIVE: This study examines to what extent which wisdom capacities are applied by research personnel when dealing with changed working conditions. METHOD: During the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in 2021, researchers were asked about work-related coping capacities in an online survey. The qualitative content analysis of the free-text responses of 131 research employees was based on a multidimensional wisdom model with 12 wisdom capacities. RESULTS: 50% of the reported coping strategies referred to factual and problem-solving capacities, 40% to interpersonal or emotional capacities, 10% did not reflect any wisdom capacity. Associations between wise coping capacities, social behavior at work, and eudaimonic well-being emerged. CONCLUSION: The study provides concrete qualitative examples of specific behavioral capacities in which wisdom may be applied in a work setting. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Orientation: The accounting labour market has undergone a metamorphosis in recent years, leading to new demands for generic skills. Universities have responded to the new demands by implementing several reforms in the accounting curriculum to address skills gap. Despite these major reforms, educational expectation gap is persistent in Botswana. Research purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a framework for skills development for employability in the competitive and dynamic accounting environment in Botswana. Motivation for the study: A skills gap was identified, implying the need for a framework for skills development for employability in the competitive and dynamic environment, thereby improving the graduate’s pervasive skills. Research design, approach and method: This study employs a qualitative research approach to extract and analyse key themes, quotes and insights from recent reports submitted to Institutions of Higher Learning (IHLs) by students and industrial supervisors. Utilising thematic data analysis, this research systematically examines the qualitative data gathered to elucidate the effectiveness of competency frameworks as perceived by both parties. Main findings: Institutions of Higher Learning in Botswana are mandated to equip students with job market-relevant skills. However, graduates often fall short in critical areas such as advanced cognitive abilities, socio-behavioural competencies and information technology (IT) proficiency, hindering their effective transition from academia to the workforce. Practical and/or managerial implications: The contribution and societal impact of this study are summed up in a proposed framework for skills development for employability in the competitive and dynamic accounting environment in Botswana. Contribution and/or value-add: The proposed framework is designed so that universities can equip students with soft skills needed in ever changing accounting environment.

The function of מַלְאָךְ in Job 33:23–24. In his first speech in the Book of Job (Job 32:6b–33:33), Elihu addresses, among other things, the God-ordained upbringing of human beings (33:14–30). In addition to dreams and visions (33:15–18), persistent pain can also educate people (33:19–22). In describing this education, Elihu surprisingly mentions a מַלְאָךְ [messenger, angel] who appears and mediates between God and the person who is suffering (33:23–24). As this passage presents some difficulties on text-critical, grammatical, and semantic levels, the role of the מַלְאָךְ has been interpreted differently by commentators to date. This article deals with the question of what function the מַלְאָךְ takes on in Job 33:23–24. The aim is to offer a coherent solution to the textual difficulties and to define the role of the מַלְאָךְ in the educational process. Acknowledging that various possibilities can lead to different interpretations, the article presented here is that in this passage, an angel mediates between God and humans by instructing them about a godly way of life and interceding for them before God, so that they can be saved from imminent death. Intradisciplinary and/or interdisciplinary implications: This article examines an aspect of the Book of Job that has received relatively little attention in Old Testament research. It thus contributes to the discussion about the significance of Elihu’s speeches in the book.

Background: The role of main work during the life course in predicting frailty, a typical geriatric syndrome, is still largely unknown. Therefore, with this research, we aimed to investigate the potential association between the main work done during the life with frailty and pre-frailty among participants 60 years and older of the UK Biobank study. Methods: Frailty and pre-frailty presence were ascertained using a model including 5 indicators (weakness, slowness, weight loss, low physical activity, and exhaustion); the main employment status was ascertained using self-reported information. The association between frailty and main work was explored using an ordinal logistic regression model and reported as odds ratios (ORs) with their 95 % confidence intervals (CIs). Results: The final sample comprised a total of 50,447 individuals (mean age: 64.2 years, females: 50.2 %). Individuals with higher qualifications had a reduced risk of frailty (OR = 0.881, 95%CI = 0.83–0.95, p-value

Abstract: During the Roman era, the butchery profession gained great importance, due to the reliance on meat as a staple meal in the Roman diet. Roman butchers knew proper techniques for butchering and eviscerating animals to ensure they were slaughtered humanely and efficiently. Selected images highlight how sculptors expressed the skill of the butchers’ work by artistically depicting their work environment. This includes the butcher wearing a work apron, the furniture such as the cutting table block and the waste container, the tools required for work like cleavers, knives, and scales, and pieces of meat hanging on hooks. The research aims to study funerary tombstones depicting butchers, in which the tombstone owner was interested in depicting his pride in his profession, his work environment, his tools, and his workplace. The tools used by the butcher in different regions and places will also be investigated in an attempt to understand the reason for their diversity and the extent to which the tools carved match the tools that were actually found. The butcher's work method in processing slaughtered meat and the method of displaying it will also be deduced.

Transportation is integral to the employment accessibility and sustainability of people with disabilities. This study aims to identify barriers, facilitators, and solutions to commuting for people with disabilities, drawing from their perspectives as well as those of employers and transportation providers. Through semi-structured individual interviews, insights were gathered from sixteen individuals with disabilities, seven employers, two job integration agents, and four transporters. Qualitative analysis of the interview transcripts revealed factors influencing commuting, including personal attributes and environmental factors. This study underscores the significant impact of environmental factors, particularly the role of social networks and transport infrastructure in either supporting or hindering public transportation use for people with disabilities who commute to work. For example, employers’ limited awareness of their employees’ commuting challenges contrasts with their recognition of their potential role in supporting it. Training and disability awareness initiatives emerge as pivotal solutions to empower individuals within the social network, including transport personnel, fellow passengers, and employers, to facilitate public transportation use by people with disabilities for work commutes.

Job instability is high among autistic adults, with employer-initiated terminations a common reason for job loss. The current study used qualitative methods to code reasons that autistic adults identified for their employer-initiated termination. From 315 autistic individuals ages 18-35 who completed an online survey, 93 (29.5%) reported having been terminated from a job. These individuals were asked about the reasons for their termination and responses were coded into thematic categories. Common reasons included work performance, social difficulties, attendance, and mental health challenges. Adults were more likely to attribute terminations to internal causes (related to the individual) than to external causes (environment-related). A good fit between workplace, individual preferences, skills, and abilities is likely key to promoting job continuity for autistic adults.

This study evaluates the impact of mentoring programs on the likelihood of getting a job in the agricultural sector after a one-year experiment conducted in Benin. The program provides graduates in agriculture-related fields with capacity building (digital skills, job search skills, and interpersonal skills) – as well as the support of a professional who is either a junior (junior model) or a senior (senior model) – as they seek jobs. The evaluation framework followed a mixed-methods design that incorporated survey data and qualitative data. The findings from the randomised controlled trial (RCT) showed a positive impact of the senior mentoring model, which increased the likelihood of getting a job in the agricultural sector by 16.4 per cent. In addition, the senior mentoring model had more impact on the likelihood of getting a job for both genders with an increase of 18.7 per cent for men and 11.9 per cent for women. Furthermore, mentees valued receiving practical career-related assistance, a realistic perspective on the workplace, and psychological and emotional support. The study suggests the need for a comprehensive policy package by policymakers and the institutionalisation of a formal mentoring program by youth-serving organisations based on the senior model. A careful reading of 2 Corinthians 12:1–10 reveals that the passage shares several motifs with the Book of Job: (1) a supernatural adversary, (2) physical suffering, (3) an otherworldly place, (4) social adversity, (5) affluence, and (6) boasting. In light of an audience-critical perspective, this article proposes that the language and imagery in 2 Corinthians 12:1–10 contain a number of allusions that could direct its audience to juxtapose Paul with Job—a well-known righteous figure who demonstrated physical vulnerability but received public vindication from YHWH. According to this reading, the Joban allusion in the Corinthian passage functions as a rhetorical device that defends Paul's apostolic authority against the super-apostles' charge that his vulnerability evinces his lack of authority. Background: Health professionals in Colombian and many parts of the world, in some cases, work in precarious conditions and intend to migrate to other countries in search of better living conditions for themselves and their families, which results in inadequate distribution worldwide and in the quality of care throughout the health system, which can ultimately influence the quality of life of patients in their health-disease processes. Purpose: Describe in depth what quality of life at work is like for the health workforce in adult critical care (ACC). Methods: This is an investigation of convergent parallel mixed methods approach that are integrated by means of a matrix in terms of convergence, divergence, and complementarity. Two methods are used: a transversal analytical method in which three instruments were applied to 209 participants to study the relationship between Quality of Life at Work, exposure to psychosocial risks, compassion fatigue and the intention to rotate; other than from the experiences narrated by 10 Human Talent in Health explore organizational practices in critical care. Results: The dimension of quality of work life with the greatest dissatisfied was the management of free time (77%), the most compromised psychosocial risk was the pace of work (84%). They have high compassion satisfaction (67%) and there is an intention to migrate to another country (66%). The narrative results in discrimination/harassment as normalized practices and faceless spirituality. The integration of mixed methods shows convergence between the use of the instrument that measures quality of life at work and the narratives of the participants, complementarity with the other instruments, and divergence regarding the intention to rotate to another health institution. Conclusion: The positive trend that converges with the two approaches is that of safety at work and well-being achieved through work, embodied in the constant updating of technology and care protocols, experience time, balance between salary and work effort, staffing and supplies, and disconnection with work. OBJECTIVE To identify an appropriate cut-off point for the "Quiet Quitting" Scale (QQS), in order to discriminate quiet quitters from those with a low level of quiet quitting. METHOD A cross-sectional study in Greece during June 2023 was conducted. We recruited adult employees from every job sector and achieved to obtain a convenience sample. The Receiver Operating Characteristic analysis was used to calculate the best cut-off point for the QQS. In that case, "Job Satisfaction Survey" (JSS), "Copenhagen Burnout Inventory" (CBI), "Single Item Burnout" (SIB) measure, and turnover intention score as external criterions were used. For each criterion, a dichotomous variable was created with the use of medians or suggested values from the literature as cut-off points. RESULTS A significant predictive power of QQS for job satisfaction assessed by JSS, and for job burnout assessed by CBI and SIB measure were found. The best cut-off point for the QQS was found to be 2.06. In that case, the highest values for Youden's index (0.34) and AUC (0.73) were found, while the 95% confidence interval for the AUC ranged from 0.70 to 0.76. Sensitivity and specificity of QQS were 0.68 and 0.66, respectively (p<0.001). Therefore, employees with QQS score ≥2.06 as quiet quitters, and those with QQS score <2.06 as non-quiet quitters were considered. CONCLUSIONS The best cut-off point for the QQS was 2.06. Employees with QQS score ≥2.06 as quiet quitters can be described as quiet quitters. Further research should be conducted to validate the present results. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

FAITH , *GRAMMAR , *GOD , *ETIQUETTE - Abstract
Religious protest, such as the protest that Job expresses, reveals the manners in which believers experience the absurd while hanging on to God. The purpose of this article is to explore the "grammar" of this paradoxical faith stance by bringing Kierkegaard and Camus to bear upon it, and thereby to show the "family resemblance" between Job, Camus's "absurd man," and the Kierkegaardian believer. I begin with a discussion of experiences of the absurd that give rise to religious protest. I then turn to Kierkegaard to explore the manners in which "faith's thought" renders the "experience of the absurd" a religious one, while pushing the believer further into the absurd. I end with a discussion of Job as an absurd rebel in Camus's sense. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Job 40:15–24 describes a monstrous creature named Behemoth, whom ancient Jewish literature treats as a supernatural monster. In contrast, much literature of the thirteenth century and later applies a zoological approach, interpreting Behemoth as a species of animal, usually the hippopotamus in publications from 1663 onward. Since 1974, numerous advocates of the zoological approach have reinterpreted Behemoth as a dinosaur, usually a sauropod. Arguments for Behemoth as a sauropod include allegations that Job 40 describes an animal that is herbivorous, aquatic, docile, and indomitable; drinks large amounts of water; has strong bones, strong hips, a bulbous midsection, tight sinews, and a cedar-like tail; and is the largest land animal that God made. Here, I investigate the relative popularity and temporal duration of each such argument and determine which such arguments are based on sound interpretations of the Hebrew text. This investigation reveals that no argument for Behemoth as a dinosaur survives scrutiny. Several, notably including the argument that Behemoth’s tail is like a cedar, are based on misinterpretations of the Hebrew text. In contrast, all parts of the Hebrew text are consistent with the interpretation of Behemoth as a primordial, supernatural monster. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
The article begins by noting a discrepancy between systematic-theological discourse of God, which speaks of ideal qualities, and biblical discourse of God, which does not refrain from associating God with evil, and analyzes this in more detail in a first section. The argument then turns to biblical texts and establishes that, especially where hopes rest on Yhwh as the only God, the authors of biblical texts seem to assume that God is also behind evil. Since most of the texts that see evil together with God are fictional narratives, the lessons drawn are pragmatic in the sense that they are warnings against abuse of power (Saul), aggression and attempts at destruction (Noah and Jonah) and insight into the background of evil (evil spirit, Satan, human culpability, omnipotence and uniqueness) rather than systematic considerations of the attributes of God. Nurses have experienced several psychological and work-related issues during the COVID-19 pandemic, including pandemic burnout and job burnout. The aim of this study was to examine the impact of social support and resilience on COVID-19 pandemic burnout and job burnout among nurses. We conducted a cross-sectional study in Greece. The study population included 963 nurses. We measured social support, resilience, COVID-19 pandemic burnout, and job burnout with the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support, Brief Resilience Scale, COVID-19 Burnout Scale, and Single-Item Burnout Measure, respectively. Nurses received high levels of social support, while their resilience was moderate. Additionally, nurses experienced moderate levels of COVID-19 burnout and job burnout. Increased social support and increased resilience were associated with reduced COVID-19 pandemic burnout. We found a negative relationship between social support and job burnout. A similar negative relationship was found between resilience and job burnout. Social support and resilience can act as protective factors against COVID-19 pandemic burnout and job burnout among nurses. Policy makers should develop and implement appropriate strategies to improve nurses' social support and resilience since they are the backbone of healthcare systems worldwide. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

MATERNITY leave , *PREGNANCY - Abstract
With the increase in the female presence in the labor market, policies aimed at the integration of women have gained significant importance. Among these policies, maternity leave stands out, the purpose of which is to protect women's employment at the end of pregnancy and immediately after childbirth. This article aims to analyze the challenges that arise when women seek to reintegrate into the labor market after the gestational period. The methodological approach used is qualitative, with an exploratory emphasis. For data collection and analysis, semi-structured interviews were carried out, followed by the application of Bardin's Content Analysis. There are many obstacles faced by women after maternity leave, which directly influence their work performance. The results obtained corroborate the theories that underlie this research, contribute to knowledge on the subject and stimulate discussions that can support formulations of new public policies in order to minimize the problem studied. The epilogue of Job, for no immediately obvious reason, links the restoration of Job's wealth to his prayer on behalf of his friends. In doing so, it deploys a formulation that features redundancy and multiple philological irregularities. These compositional choices serve several objectives. Particularly on the assumption that Job, in his final speech, maintains an abidingly defiant posture toward God, his prayer constitutes a prerequisite for his restoration. Indeed, in subtle ways, the text emphasizes the prayer's pivotal role. The text's odd formulation, for its part, generates inner-biblical parallels that contribute to meaning. One parallel invokes a wider correlation to the Joseph story, implying that Job, in contrast to the victimized Joseph, must extend forbearance to his offenders before regaining wealth and stature. Another parallel helps intimate that Job recovered from his malady, a development that the text, because of an understandable concern, does not wish to state explicitly. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

EMPLOYMENT of people with disabilities , *PUBLIC transit , *MUNICIPAL services , *PEOPLE with disabilities , *KEYWORD searching - Abstract
Although many barriers remain to the employment of people with disabilities, public transportation can play a key role for integration and retention of people with disabilities in employment. However, research is needed to better understand how public transportation influences access to work for people with disabilities. This study aims to identify public transportation-related barriers and facilitators to the employment of people living with disabilities. A scoping review approach was adopted, with a keyword search through six databases. Studies' characteristics, transportation barriers, and facilitators to employment of people with disabilities were extracted from the selected articles. The results were presented descriptively and narratively. In total, 74 studies were included. Barriers and facilitators were grouped under four themes: (1) public transportation, (2) employment, (3) personal factors, and (4) social network. This review highlights the key role of public transportation in accessing and maintaining employment for people with disabilities. It also reveals gaps in the literature and a need to investigate the issue through the lens of employers, public transportation services, and social environmental facilitators. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objectives: Lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) are common among employed women. An underexplored topic is whether characteristics of women's occupations may influence LUTS. The present study examined whether job strain and its individual components (psychological demands, decision latitude) were associated with greater LUTS and their impact and whether, compared to managerial and professional occupations, occupations characterized by manual labor, sales, service, nursing, and teaching were associated with greater LUTS and their impact. Methods: Coronary Artery Risk Development in Young Adults cohort study data were analyzed. Job strain and occupation were assessed in 1987–88 and 1995–96. In 2012–13, LUTS and their impact were assessed. LUTS/impact category (a composite variable ranging from bladder health to mild, moderate, and severe LUTS/impact) was regressed on job strain and occupation in separate analyses, adjusting for age, race, parity, education, and financial hardship (n = 1006). Results: Job strain and its individual components were not associated with LUTS/impact. In comparison to managerial and professional occupations, service occupations in 1987–88 and 1995–96 were both associated with greater odds of LUTS/impact in proportional odds logistic regression analyses. Employment as a nurse, health assistant, or health aide in 1995‐96 was associated with greater odds of any LUTS/impact versus bladder health. Support positions in 1987–88 and sales positions in 1995–96 were associated with greater odds of moderate or severe LUTS/impact versus bladder health or mild LUTS/impact. Conclusions: Future research should examine characteristics of workplaces that may promote or constrain bladder health (e.g., time and autonomy to void when desired, infrastructure to void).
