Subacute Sclerosing Panencephalitis (SSPE) is a rare, slowly progressive disorder that affects the entire nervous system. It primarily involves the cerebral cortex, subcortex and optic nerves. Caused by a mutated strain of the measles virus, the disease is mostly irreversible and devastating. It presents with gradually progressive cognitive impairment, extrapyramidal symptoms and sometimes seizures. Although commonly seen in unvaccinated children, SSPE of adult onset is uncommon. The disease is fatal and currently has no treatment. There have been many different presentations of this disorder, ranging from optic nerve involvement to gradual cognitive decline, but none have a good prognosis; ultimately, patients may become akinetic and mute. Here, the authors present an uncommon case of SSPE occurring at an older age (26-year-old male), with a rapid and atypical presentation resembling severe post-viral syndrome, which was later diagnosed as SSPE.

Cholinergic urticaria (CholU) is a rare condition characterized by itchy hives in the form of 1-4 mm small, raised wheals on skin, which are short-lived for duration of 15 to 20 minutes; they are caused by stimuli associated with sweating such as from physical exercise. CholU is also known as cholinergic angioedema urticaria. Hereby, we present a case report of a 42-year-old male with ChoIU who presented with systemic manifestation in the form of recurrent attacks of syncope. Diagnosis was made after a detailed history taking and all cardiac and neurological evaluations done that were normal, and widespread literature research was done to rule out other causes of syncope as systemic symptoms are rarely seen in ChoIU. His IgE antibodies levels were highly increased. He was managed with nonsedating antihistamines and health education regarding the rare condition.

In the presence of Subarachnoid Haemorrhage (SAH), diagnosis of underlying Cerebral Venous Thrombosis (CVT) is challenging as there is no difference in clinical presentation and therapeutically it is important because CVT needs to be treated with anticoagulant, unlike SAH. This article is about a 50-year-old male presenting with headache, right hemiparesis, and recurrent seizures. Computed Tomography (CT) head was suggestive of SAH in right posterior parietal region. But Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) venogram showed cerebral venous sinus thrombosis. Hence, he was treated with anticoagulants. The patient showed significant clinical improvement. SAH secondary to underlying CVT is a relatively rare entity. After reviewing medical literature of such cases, 42 case reports and case series forming 95 cases of SAH secondary to CVT were found.

Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) virus which has caused Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, may also affect neural axis at different levels including Central Nervous System (CNS) and Peripheral Nervous System (PNS). There is increasing evidence of neurological complications caused by SARS-CoV-2. Though isolated facial nerve involvement has been reported in literature, isolated peroneal nerve palsy secondary to SARS-CoV-2 infection is a rare occurrence. This article reported two such rare cases (53-year-old male/45-year-old male) of foot drop where isolated peroneal nerve involvement was present on nerve conduction study. It was possibly caused by an immune mediated mechanism in patients who had recovered from COVID-19 infection.
