Parameters that affect the electrospinning process have been studied for many years. Surface tension and conductivity are two of the most important parameters for electrospun nanofibers. Here we report a series of polyvinyl alcohol nanofibers by adding various concentrations of non-ionic and anionic surfactants. We observed the changes in fiber quality and morphology due to decreasing surface tension and increasing conductivity. In the best case example, good quality of fibers was spun by adding anionic surfactant but adding non-ionic surfactant showed negative effect.

Morphological changes in Polyvinyl Butyral (PVB) electrospun nanofibres can be acquired by preparation of PVB spinning solution in different solvents. Accordingly, three solvents, including ethyl alcohol, n-butanol and isopropanol, with diverse physical properties (e.g. boiling point, density, dipole moment and dielectric constant) were used to prepare PolyVinyl Butyral (PVB) spinning solution. The PVB polymer was used in two ranges of molecular weight. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) was employed to determine the morphological aspects. Results demonstrated a very high increase in the nanofibre diameter, with decreasing dipole moment and increasing boiling point and density of solvents. The smallest nanofibre diameter and bead structure was revealed for the PVB solution prepared by n-butanol. With regard to morphological aspects, isopropnol was selected as the most suitable solvent for a range of PVB molecular weights

Çalışmanın amacı, silindirli elektro lif çekim yöntemi (Nanospider) ile poliüretan nano lif esaslı yüzeylerin üretiminin gerçekleştirilerek, çözelti özellikleri ile lif çekimi proses parametreleri ve ürün özellikleri arasındaki ilişkilerin belirlenmesidir.Birinci bölümde, poliüretan polimer çözeltilerin elektrik (iletkenlik, dielektrik ve akım), yüzey gerilimi ve reolojik (viskozite, kompleks modül), özellikleri belirlenmiştir. İkinci bölümde, elektrostatik kuvvet ile nano lif çekiminin temel prensibini oluşturan Taylor koni yapısının oluşum safhalarıyüksek hızlı kamera ile zamana bağlı olarakgörüntülenerek analiz edilmiştir. Üçüncü bölümde, optimum proses parametreleri sağlanarak poliüretan çözeltilerinden silindirli elektro lif çekim yöntemi ile nano lif esaslı yüzeyler elde edilmiş ve daha sonra bu yüzeyler kullanılarak lif çekim performansı (g/dk/m) değerleri hesaplanmıştır. Ayrıca proses esnasında dijital kamera kullanılarak,her bir çözelti için silindir yüzeyinde oluşan Taylor koniler görüntülenmiştir. Daha sonra bu görüntüler analiz edilerek birim alandaki Taylor koni sayıları ve her bir Taylor koniye ait lif çekim performansı değerleri belirlenmiştir. Çalışmanın son bölümündetaramalı elektron mikroskobu kullanılarak nano lif esaslı yüzeylerin görüntüleri elde edilmiş ve Lucia 32G görüntü analiz programı ile lif çapı, çap üniformitesi ve lif olmayan alan gibi morfolojik özellikler belirlenmiştir. Tez kapsamında yapılan tüm ölçümve analizlerden elde edilen sonuçların özellikle kışlık ve sportif giysiler için yarı geçirgen membranlar ve gaz-sıvı malzemeler için kullanılan filtrelerin geliştirilmesinde, atık su temizliği ve doku mühendisliğinde poliüretan nano lif ile kaplanmış iplik üretiminde faydalı olacağı düşünülmektedir.Anahtar Kelimeler: Poliüretan, polimer çözelti, TEAB, DMF, TKE, elektro lif çekim yöntemi, nano lif., The aim of the study is production of polyurethane nano fiber based surfaces using roller electrospinning (Nanospider) method and determining the relationships between solution properties, fiber spinning process parameters and final-product properties. Inthe first part, electric (conductivity, dielectric and current), surface tension and rheological (viscosity, complex modulus) properties of the polyurethane polymer solutions were determined. In the second part, thephases of Taylor cone formation depending on time, which is the basic principle of nano fiber spinning with electrostatic force was recorded using high-speed camera and images were analyzed. In the third part, nano fiber based surfaces providing optimum process parameters were obtained by using roller electrospinning method from polyurethane solutions and then spinning performance (g/min/m) values were calculated from these surfaces. Moreover Taylor cones occured on the roller surface for each solution during spinning process by digital camera were recorded. Then these images were analyzed and the number of Taylor cones per unit area andspinning performance values for each Taylorcones were calculated. In the last part of the study, morphological properties such asfiber diameter, diameter uniformity and non-fibrous area of the structure were determined from images of nano fiber based surfaces obtained by scanning electron microscope with Lucia 32G image analyse program.
