Industries with low direct CO2 emissions downstream in the industry chain have significant carbon emissions upstream, which is similar to how carbon leakage in interprovincial regions and international commerce affects these regions. Due to the interchange and transit of goods, there are intermediate production and consumption processes across industrial sectors. The CO2 emissions produced by each sector are insufficient to satisfy the sector’s ultimate demand. It will also move along with the industrial chain. Investigating embodied carbon transfer across industrial sectors is crucial to strike a balance between economic growth and greenhouse gas emissions. Locating the key sectors to reduce carbon emissions provides a basis for formulating resource conservation and environmental protection policies. In this study, the industrial sector divides into 24 subsectors, and the embodied CO2 emissions and carbon transfer pathways of each are examined from the viewpoint of the industrial chain using the Economic Input–Output Life Cycle Assessment (EIO-LCA) and the Hypothetical Extraction Method (HEM). The indirect CO2 emissions downstream of the industrial chain are higher than the direct carbon dioxide emissions, and the intersectoral carbon transfer constitutes a significant part of the total carbon emissions of the industrial sector. The upstream sector of the industry chain has a significantly higher direct carbon emission intensity than the indirect CO2 emission intensity, while the downstream sector is the opposite. The production and supply of electricity, gas and water, and raw material industries transfer significant CO2 to other sectors. The manufacturing industry is mainly the inflow of CO2. CO2 flows from the mining industry to the raw material industry and from the raw material industry to the manufacturing industry constitute the critical pathway of carbon transfer between industries. A study on the embodied carbon emissions and transfer paths of various industrial sectors is conducive to clarifying the emission reduction responsibilities and providing a basis for synergistic emission reduction strategies.

Virus assembly and disassembly are critical steps in the virus lifecycle; however, virus disassembly is much less well understood than assembly. For hepatitis B virus (HBV) capsids, disassembly of the virus capsid in the presence of guanidine hydrochloride (GuHCl) exhibits strong hysteresis that requires additional chemical energy to initiate disassembly and disrupt the capsid structure. To study disassembly of HBV capsids, we mixed T = 4 HBV capsids with 1.0 to 3.0 M GuHCl, monitored the reaction over time by randomly selecting particles, and measured their size with resistive-pulse sensing. Particles were cycled forward and backward multiple times to increase the observation time and likelihood of observing a disassembly event. The four-pore device used for resistive-pulse sensing produces four current pulses for each particle during translocation that improves tracking and identification of single particles and increases the precision of the particle-size measurements when the pulses are averaged. We studied disassembly at GuHCl concentrations below and above denaturing conditions of the dimer, the fundamental unit of HBV capsid assembly. As expected, capsids showed little disassembly at low GuHCl concentrations (e.g., 1.0 M GuHCl), whereas at higher GuHCl concentrations (≥ 1.5 M), capsids exhibited disassembly, sometimes as a complex series of events. In all cases, disassembly was an accelerating process, where capsids catastrophically disassembled within a few 100 ms of reaching critical stability; disassembly rates reached tens of dimers per second just before capsids fell apart. Some disassembly events exhibited metastable intermediates that appeared to lose one or more trimers of dimers in a stepwise fashion.

In the context of the “carbon peaking” policy for mining companies, this study was conducted to clarify the amount of carbon emission reduction required for each production process to achieve the carbon peaking target for mining companies. In this paper, after determining the fair interval of the carbon emission distribution, the fair deviation index was constructed, and a multiobjective carbon emission distribution model of the mine production process was established by combining the objectives of maximum stability and maximum efficiency with the constraint of output growth. The study found: (1) More carbon emission quotas should be allocated to the beneficiation link, while fewer carbon emission quotas should be allocated to the crushing link; (2) beneficiation, mining and transportation are all responsible for emission reduction, but crushing and blasting produced a carbon emission surplus and (3) after optimization, the carbon emission intensity in the beneficiation, mining and transportation processes was reduced. This paper argues that mining companies should increase their efforts to reduce emissions in beneficiation, mining and transportation. The study’s findings have important implications for achieving carbon emission reduction targets and refining carbon emission management in open pit mines in the context of carbon peaking.

Internet of things (IoT) technology has been constantly applied in greenhouse environmental monitoring and control in recent years. The acquisition and control parameters, network protocols are different for the various purposes of the greenhouse. These factors are the keys to the abilities to effectively communicate and transfer meaningful data in IoT infrastructures. To achieve the adaptive matching of data communication between the gateway and server in a greenhouse IoT system, a data encapsulation method based on XML was designed to enable data interoperability in a distributed greenhouse IoT system. Furthermore, the behaviour of the Multi-Agent System (MAS) was used to merge the heterogeneous information and the responses for data synchronization in the greenhouse IoT system. The data communication mechanism for real-time and cumulative data synchronization between the gateway and server based on JADE was tested in a specific greenhouse. The results showed that the data loss rate between the data acquisition unit and the gateway was 1.52%, and the data loss rate was 0.4% between the gateway and the server; therefore, the mechanism could be feasibly applied to the data communication for a greenhouse IoT system.

A poly(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate) (pHEMA) hydrogel film was prepared by bulk polymerization. Then, it was surface modified by perfluorooctanoyl chloride to improve the anti-biofouling properties. Attenuated total reflectance-Fourier transform infrared (ATR-FTIR), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), scanning electron microscopy-energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (SEM-EDXS), and atomic force microscopy (AFM) analyses demonstrated that the uniform dense fluorinated layer had been successfully grafted onto pHEMA. The water contact angle (WCA) of the modified pHEMA film increased to 135°, while the surface energy decreased to 13.32 mN/m. The protein and bacterial adhesion properties of the modified pHEMA were decreased significantly. The in vitro cytotoxicity showed that the modified pHEMA was noncytotoxic. Thus, the fluorinated modification on the material surface was a convenient and effective method to establish a hydrophobic and anti-biofouling surface.

To solve the biofouling problem of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) hydrogel as the artificial cornea, glycidyl methacrylate (GMA) and 2-hydroxypropyltrimethyl ammonium chloride chitosan (HACC) were grafted on the surface of PVA hydrogel via a new method of photoinduced electron transfer—reversible addition fragmentation chain transfer (PET-RAFT) polymerization and ring-open reaction. Both attenuated total reflectance Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (ATR-FTIR), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), atomic force microscopy (AFM), scanning electron microscope (SEM), and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) confirmed that GMA and HACC were successfully grafted on the surface of PVA hydrogel. A series of experiments to test the hydrophilicity of PVA hydrogel showed that it became hydrophobic due to the introduction of hydrophobic groups after grafting with GMA and HACC. In addition, cytotoxicity in vitro of PVA-g-p(GMA-HACC) hydrogel could be considered as not cytotoxicity according to ISO 10993-5: 2009. The anti-fouling property of hydrogel decreased after grafting with GMA due to the hydrophobic surface, while increased after grafting with HACC due to the steric repulsion of p(GMA-HACC) polymer brush. It’s no doubt that PET-RAFT was a feasible and reliable surface modification method which could be used in many biomolecules due to the excellent advantages.

In this study, we grafted brush-like CBMA copolymer brushes onto the surface of PVA hydrogel membrane through photo-induced electron transfer–reversible addition fragmentation chain transfer (PET-RAFT) polymerization. ATR-FTIR, XPS, AFM, UV–Vis absorption spectra and elemental analysis were adopted to characterize the hydrogels, and equilibrium swelling, water contact angle, vitro cytotoxicity assay, protein adsorption and cells adhesion experiments were used to evaluate the related property of hydrogels. The results of ATR-FTIR and XPS showed that pCBMA was successfully grafted onto the surface of PVA hydrogel membrane. The Ra roughness of hydrogel surface in AFM increased slightly from 5.44 nm to 6.12 nm. Transmittance of the PVA-g-pCBMA hydrogel in the visible range (380 nm-780 nm) was remaining at 91.2%–97.0%. The optimal reaction conditions (CPADB: 1.20 mmol/L, Eosin Y: 0.03 mmol/L and CBMA: 358 mmol/L) were confirmed through control experiments. The equilibrium swelling and water contact angle showed that the swelling ratio increased from 2.06 cm3 g−1 to 3.65 cm3 g−1, while the water contact angle decreased from 45.94° to 18.06° with the increase of grafting ratio (23.92%–55.18%). In vitro cytotoxicity assay by CCK-8 showed that the cells relative viability remained at least 90.55%. Anti-protein adsorption experiment illustrated approximately 57.2% improvement of anti-protein capacity at 37 °C, while cells adhesion experiment also showed about 64.57% improvement of anti-cells capacity. These results revealed the applicability of the oxygen tolerant PET-RAFT mechanism on the PVA modification and it was effective, feasible and non-cytotoxic method to prepare the other functional PVA hydrogel membrane.

For the transport of large-tonnage equipment and structures, most of them use multiple hydraulic trucks to combine. The coordinated control of the hydraulic trucks’ hydraulic system groups is particularly important. The coordinated control of two hydraulic trucks from a company was studied during the steering of combined transportation. First, the hydraulic steering mechanism was analysed, and the functional relationship between steering angle and hydraulic cylinder stroke was obtained. Then, the synchronisation control strategy was compared and analysed, and the synchronous control mode with higher precision was selected. The mathematical model of the steering system was established, and the AMESim model and Simulink model were established to verify the feasibility of the control strategy. Finally, the steering tests of no load and full load were carried out. It was found that the actual test results were basically consistent with the simulation results. It was verified that the steering system with load-sensing pump and master–slave coordinated PID control strategy can better realise coordinated steering action.

Shareholders of listed companies can be divided into institutional and non-institutional shareholders. Both groups are important to their listed companies. Many scholars have conducted research on institutional shareholders, some research on non-institutional shareholders, and some scholars have researched similarities of the two shareholder types to reveal co-holding relationships at the shareholder level. However, there are seldom studies of the similarity of the co-shareholder relationship at the listed company level. What are the similarities between the co-shareholder relationships from these two perspectives? In this paper, we apply the complex network theory, which is often used in the financial markets to conduct research, and divide the data of ten major circulating shareholders of the listed companies in China into two parts. We then construct two projected networks that are a common institutional shareholder relationship network and a common non-institutional shareholder relationship network based on the bipartite networks using the decreasing-mode method, in which the shareholders are mediate elements. We analyze the evolutionary similarity of the two co-shareholder relationship networks from three angles, including the contribution rate of the common institutional shareholder relationship network and the common non-institutional shareholder relationship network to the whole network, the behavior intensity of the co-shareholder in the two networks, and the similarity of the two networks. The results indicate that (1) The evolution of the contribution rate of the listed companies with the co-shareholder relationship was influenced by different factors in two projected networks. The evolution of the contribution rate of the co-shareholder relationship in the whole network is consistent with that of the common institutional shareholder relationship network. (2) The intensity of co-shareholder behavior in the common institutional shareholder relationship network is stronger than that in the common non-institutional shareholder relationship network, and the trend in the whole network is the same as the former. (3) The similarity of the co-shareholder networks is consistent with the change of the co-shareholder relationship and is influenced by the stock market and the difference in the number of co-shareholder relationships. In this paper, we analyze the evolutionary similarity of the co-shareholder relationship between the common institutional shareholder relationship network and the common non-institutional shareholder relationship network and the influence factor of the two networks. This provides a new perspective for analyzing relationships among the listed companies.

In order to fit the different demands for the internet of things system of greenhouse environment monitoring and control, the greenhouse environment monitoring and control management system based on Google Web Toolkit (GWT) was developed. Using remote method call (RPC) AJAX as the communication method between browser and web server, the system realized the functions such as: configuration of acquisition and control parameters, the adaptive match of database between gateway and server, the adaptive diagnosis of monitoring parameters, the warning of monitoring parameters, the adaptive generation of interface, and so on. The functions of the system was tested the results shows that the WEB browser application and Android App can adaptively realize the greenhouse environment monitoring and control according to the information configuration. With the rising profits of oil companies in the refined oil sector, the optimization of the refined oil supply chain network has received more and more attention. In most supply chains (SCs), transaction relationships between suppliers and customers are commonly considered to be an extrapolation from a linear perspective. However, this traditional linear concept of an SC is egotistic and oversimplified and does not sufficiently reflect the complex and structure of supplier–customer relationships in current economic and industrial situations. But key global knowledge can be obtained from complex network characteristics analysis of the net form sales system. For two-level network like refine oil supply network, this paper proposed an integrated framework to explore its characteristics. Through various analyses of this complex network, including visual, network scale, network agglomeration, network community and geographic information analyses, we could found the characteristics of regular network node relations and regional location characteristics, as well as a strongly correlation between correlation coefficient thresholds and the network interdependence, and also moderated the correlation between SN efficiency and SN resilience. In order to testify this supply network analysis method, we conducted a real-world SN analyses based on a Chinese province diesel supply network and describe an advanced investigation of SN theory. This method enrich the SN theory, which can benefit SN management, community economics and industrial resilience. Also the basic understanding of the diesel sales network system obtained in this paper provides guidance for further research on this network structure, which can also provide a reference for regional sales supervision and resource distribution.

A novel g-C3N4@InVO4 semiconductor catalyzed surface-initiated photo atom transfer radical polymerization without catalysts residues problem has been developed. This method proceeded in N-methyl pyrrolidone/aqueous under atmospheric conditions. To verify the versatility of this method and enhance the antifouling properties of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) hydrogel, two types of fluorinated polymer brushes (p6F/p13F) were successfully constructed on PVA hydrogel surface instead of the subsurface. The chemical bonds between PVA matrix and fluorinated polymer brushes (p6F/p13F) enhanced the surface cross link density and resulted in an increase of thermal stability and mechanical properties. All fluorinated PVA hydrogels with excellent antifouling properties was able to tackle the biofouling problem in complex environment of the human body. In addition, all fluorinated PVA hydrogels was no cytotoxicity for L929 and NDHF according to ISO 10993.5:2009. g-C3N4@InVO4 catalyzed SI-photoATRP provides a novel surface modification technology for various biological or medical materials in the industrial-scale application.

An innovative g-C3N4 catalyzed surface-initiated photo atom transfer radical polymerization (SI-photoATRP) has been developed to construct MEDSAH zwitterionic polymer brushes on PVA hydrogel surface. g-C3N4 catalyzed SI-photoATRP is temporal and spatial control. As a heterogeneous reaction system, it can solve the catalyst residues problem. After grafting with MEDSAH, surface chemical composition and morphology of PVA-g-pMEDSAH hydrogel confirmed that MEDSAH was successfully grafted onto PVA hydrogel. Thermal property of PVA-g-pMEDSAH hydrogel decreased and hydrophilicity increased. No statistically significant differences between PVA and PVA-g-pMEDSAH were observed on mechanical properties. Cytotoxicity in vitro of PVA-g-pMEDSAH hydrogel could be considered as no cytotoxicity for L929 and NDHF cells. The antifouling properties of PVA-g-pMEDSAH hydrogel were significantly improved due to the enhancement of the surface hydration and steric repulsion effects caused by pMEDSAH polymer brushes. In addition, g-C3N4 is easier to modify to enhance the photocatalyst property. Thus, the heterogeneous reaction system of g-C3N4 catalyzed SI-photoATRP has huge potential applied in biomaterials surface modification.

As the industrial structure adjusts and driving effects change in different countries, the regional pattern of industrial driving effects is reshaped, and the new pattern is bound to lead to changes in energy consumption. Therefore, this paper uses multiregional input-output analysis, complex network theory, and panel quantile regression model to explore the impact of the topological structure of the global industrial driving network on energy intensity. The empirical results show that China’s ability to drive economic activity is becoming stronger, but its level of dependence is also increasing. The industrial dependence of Russia is also relatively high, but over time it has been gradually decreasing. Countries with high energy intensity should reduce their role in driving others and rely less on external resources. For countries with low energy intensity, they could conduct trade cooperation with more countries, but the driving effect strength with other countries cannot be too high. Understanding the relationship between industrial driving effects and energy intensity is of great significance for the government in the implementation of trade policies and industry policies, which have a large impact on energy intensity.

A novel near-infrared (NIR) light induced photoinduced electron transfer-reversible addition - fragmentation chain-transfer (PET-RAFT) polymerization was developed and carboxybetaine methacrylate (CBMA) polymer brush was constructed on the PVA hydrogel via this one-spot method to enhance the antifouling properties. PVA-g-pCBMA hydrogel displayed higher hydrophilicity, while the thermal properties decreased due to the lower decomposition properties of pCBMA and the partly destruction of crystal structure inside the PVA hydrogel. The antifouling properties of PVA-g-pCBMA hydrogel was improved significantly because the surface hydration and steric repulsion effect of pCBMA polymer brush. Importantly, PVA-g-pCBMA hydrogel PVA-g-pCBMA hydrogel could be considered as no cytotoxic effect or reduction of proliferation to primary human eyelid fibroblast cells following the guidelines stated by ISO 10993-5:2009 (direct contact test). Considering the excellent penetration ability of NIR, AlPc catalyzed PET-RAFT polymerization provided a new modification approach for various biological or medical materials on industrial scale.

The ability to precisely control the transport of single DNA molecules through a nanoscale channel is critical to DNA sequencing and mapping technologies that are currently under development. Here we show how the electrokinetically driven introduction of DNA molecules into a nanochannel is facilitated by incorporating a three-dimensional nanofunnel at the nanochannel entrance. Individual DNA molecules are imaged as they attempt to overcome the entropic barrier to nanochannel entry through nanofunnels with various shapes. Theoretical modeling of this behavior reveals the pushing and pulling forces that result in up to a 30-fold reduction in the threshold electric field needed to initiate nanochannel entry. In some cases, DNA molecules are stably trapped and axially positioned within a nanofunnel at sub-threshold electric field strengths, suggesting the utility of nanofunnels as force spectroscopy tools. These applications illustrate the benefit of finely tuning nanoscale conduit geometries, which can be designed using the theoretical model developed here., Forcing a DNA molecule into a nanoscale channel requires overcoming the free energy barrier associated with confinement. Here, the authors show that DNA injected through a funnel-shaped entrance more efficiently enters the nanochannel, thanks to facilitating forces generated by the nanofunnel geometry.

Complex network theory is a widely used tool in the empirical research of financial markets. Two-mode and multi-mode networks are new trends and represent new directions in that they can more accurately simulate relationships between entities. In this paper, we use data for Chinese listed companies holding non-listed financial companies over a ten-year period to construct two networks: a two-mode primitive network in which listed companies and non-listed financial companies are considered actors and events, respectively, and a one-mode network that is constructed based on the decreasing-mode method in which listed companies are considered nodes. We analyze the evolution of the listed company co-holding network from several perspectives, including that of the whole network, of information control ability, of implicit relationships, of community division and of small-world characteristics. The results of the analysis indicate that (1) China’s developing stock market affects the share-holding condition of listed companies holding non-listed financial companies; (2) the information control ability of co-holding networks is focused on a few listed companies and the implicit relationship of investment preference between listed companies is determined by the co-holding behavior; (3) the community division of the co-holding network is increasingly obvious, as determined by the investment preferences among listed companies; and (4) the small-world characteristics of the co-holding network are increasingly obvious, resulting in reduced communication costs. In this paper, we conduct an evolution analysis and develop an understanding of the factors that influence the listed companies co-holding network. This study will help illuminate research on evolution analysis.

In addition to well-known subduction processes, the collision of two continents also generates abundant ore deposits, as in the case of the Tibetan Plateau, which is the youngest and most spectacular collisional belt on Earth. During the building history of the Gangdese magmatic belt, several magmatic flare-up events developed, however, significant magmatic-hydrothermal lead–zinc mineralization dominantly accompanied the magmatism during the syncollisional period (~ 65–41 Ma). Based on integrated geochemical and isotopic data, we provide insights into the genesis and evolution of syncollisional magmas, and their implications for significant magmatic-hydrothermal lead–zinc mineralization. The Sr–Nd isotopic compositions of most syncollisional igneous rocks (87Sr/86Sr = 0.7034–0.7123; eNd(t) = − 9.0 to + 1.8) indicate a mixing origin between mantle-derived basaltic magmas and ancient crustal melts, and fractional crystallization is a fundamental mechanism by which syncollisional magmas evolve towards intermediate to silicic compositions. Most lead–zinc mineralization-related plutons are high silica (76.14% wt.% SiO2 on average), high oxygen fugacity (average ΔFMQ + 2.5) granites with highly evolved chemical signatures [average Eun/Eun* = 0.33, high Rb/Sr (average = 3.9)], and they represent the final products from primary magmas. Due to the contribution of ancient crustal melts to the genesis of mineralization-related parent magmas, the spatial distribution of Pb–Zn deposits within the northern Gangdese magmatic belt is controlled by the lithospheric architecture. In compressional environments, magmas have low evacuation efficiency and long magma chamber lifespan, which is favorable for basaltic parents evolved to high silica granites through sufficient fractional crystallization. This scenario contributes to our understanding of the significant magmatic-hydrothermal lead–zinc mineralization that occurred in the syncollisional period.

Economic legislation is an important system factor for economic development nowadays. This paper discussed how to improve legal policy for supporting new energy automobile industry development on behalf of reducing pollutant in the atmosphere. Analysis methods used in this paper are system law methods combined with economic analytical methods to demonstrate rationality. The authors find that policies implied are more inclined to new-car sales while ignoring the potential consumers who have got a car and want to replace it. Environmental subsidies for replacement of new energy automobiles can promote consumption so as to boost its industry development. And the replacement can optimize private owned car stock to lower exhaust and improve environment. So the authors make recommendation that the nation can learn from Germany car replacement environmental subsidies legal policy by introducing it to new energy vehicles replacement. This legal policy is good for both new energy automobile industry development and social environmental benefits.

To improve the precision of resistive-pulse measurements, we have used a focused ion beam instrument to mill nanofluidic devices with 2, 4, and 8 pores in series and compared their performance. The in-plane design facilitates the fabrication of multiple pores in series, which, in turn, permits averaging of the series of pulses generated from each translocation event. The standard deviations (σ) of the pulse amplitude distributions decrease by 2.7-fold when the average amplitudes of eight pulses are compared to the amplitudes of single pulses. Similarly, standard deviations of the pore-to-pore time distributions decrease by 3.2-fold when the averages of the seven measurements from 8-pore devices are contrasted to single measurements from 2-pore devices. With signal averaging, the inherent uncertainty in the measurements decreases; consequently, the resolution (mean/σ) improves by a factor equal to the square root of the number of measurements. We took advantage of the improved size resolution of the 8-pore devices to analyze in real time the assembly of Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) capsids below the pseudo-critical concentration. We observe that abundances of assembly intermediates change over time. During the first hour of the reaction, the abundance of smaller intermediates decreased, whereas the abundance of larger intermediates with sizes closer to a T = 4 capsid remained constant.

A combined multinomial pricing model is proposed for pricing mining concession in which the annualized volatility of the price of mineral products follows a multinomial distribution. First, a combined multinomial pricing model is proposed which consists of binomial pricing models calculated according to different volatility values. Second, a method is provided to calculate the annualized volatility and the distribution. Third, the value of convenience yields is calculated based on the relationship between the futures price and the spot price. The notion of convenience yields is used to adjust our model as well. Based on an empirical study of a Chinese copper mine concession, we verify that our model is easy to use and better than the model with constant volatility when considering the changing annualized volatility of the price of the mineral product.

This work describes advanced metrology based on Single Particle Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (spICP-MS) for evaluating ultra-pure chemicals used in electronics applications such as Chemical Mechanical Planarization (CMP), cleaning fluids, photoresist, anti-reflecting coatings etc. spICP-MS was used to measure concentrations and sizes of nanoparticles both upstream and downstream of sub 100 nm rated membranes. One membrane showed over 1000-fold reduction of gold particles sized between 14 and 80 nm. spICP-MS was also used to study ceria nanoparticles before and after CMP of silicon dioxide. Changes in the ceria particle size distributions after CMP showed a relative increase in the concentration of smaller particles. These results demonstrate the application of spICP-MS for the characterization of particles in fluids used in the advanced semiconductor wafer processing.
