Recent experiments have pointed to a chiral p-wave-like superconductivity in epitaxial Bi/Ni bilayers that are spontaneously time-reversal symmetry breaking (TRSB), making it a promising platform for exploring physics useful for topologically protected quantum computing. Quite intriguingly, evidence has emerged that in non-epitaxial Bi/Ni bilayers, superconductivity arises due to the formation of NiBi3, which has been reported to host coexisting ferromagnetic and superconducting orders at the surface. We perform high resolution surface magneto-optic Kerr effect (SMOKE) measurements using a Sagnac interferometer on single crystal NiBi3 and find no sign of any spontaneous Kerr signal except for contributions from trapped vortices. This strongly indicates the absence of TRSB in NiBi3, whether due to TRSB in the superconducting state or any coexisting ferromagnetism, and we conclude that the superconductivity found in non-epitaxial Bi/Ni is distinctively different from that in epitaxial Bi/Ni., Comment: accepted version at Phys. Spatial division multiplexing using conventional orbital angular momentum (OAM) has become a well-known physical layer transmission method over the past decade. The mode-group (MG) superposed by specific single mode plane spiral OAM (PSOAM) waves has been proved to be a flexible beamforming method to achieve the azimuthal pattern diversity, which inherits the spiral phase distribution of conventional OAM wave. Thus, it possesses both the beam directionality and vorticity. In this paper, it's the first time to show and verify novel PSOAM MG based multiple-in-multiple-out (MIMO) communication link (MG-MIMO) experimentally in a line-of-sight (LoS) scenario. A compact multi-mode PSOAM antenna is demonstrated experimentally to generate multiple independent controllable PSOAM waves, which can be used for constructing MGs. After several proof-of-principle tests, it has been verified that the beam directionality gain of MG can improve the receiving signal-to-noise (SNR) level in an actual system, meanwhile, the vorticity can provide another degree of freedom (DoF) to reduce the spatial correlation of MIMO system. Furthermore, a tentative long-distance transmission experiment operated at 10.2 GHz has been performed successfully at a distance of 50 m with a single-way spectrum efficiency of 3.7 bits/s/Hz/stream. The proposed MG-MIMO may have potential in the long-distance LoS back-haul scenario.

Orbital angular momentum (OAM) has attracted great interest in the past few decades due to its helical phase characteristics. It has been proved that Plane spiral OAM (PSOAM) has potential in pattern reconfiguration of azimuthal domain because it solves the difficulty of mode superposition caused by different main lobe directions of different modes. However, the absence of a compact high-purity multimode PSOAM antenna hinders the development of PSOAM applications. In this paper, a compact high-purity 8-mode PSOAM antenna consisting of a coaxial resonator group (CRG) and a rotating parabolic reflector (RPR) is designed. It works in the X-band with the bandwidth of 140 MHz, and its efficiency is greater than 90$\%$. Amplitude and phase of each PSOAM beam generated by this antenna can be controlled independently owing to its feed network and separate resonators design, hence any target pattern in azimuthal domain can be approximately reconfigured by modes weighting. The simulation and experiment results show that this antenna can make the PSOAM based pattern configuration possible, which will have potential in the OAM based applications.

Orbital angular momentum (OAM) has gradually become a research hotspot in radar, communication and other fields because of its phase distribution. However it encounters some problems in the real practice owing to its inherent characteristics. Recently OAM mode group has been proposed to solve these problems. In this paper, a non-uniform OAM source is used to generate the OAM mode-group (MG) directly. The radiation field is analyzed based on an equivalent source transformation. Taking the partial arc transmitting (PAT) scheme as an example, the non-uniform source is equivalenced as a group of uniform OAM sources by calculated its Fourier transform. This work provides theoretical guidance for the design of non-uniform OAM antenna in the RF domain.

We report on the electrical detection of a hybrid magnon-photon system, which is comprised of a magnetic sample coupled to a planar cavity. While the uniform Kittel mode has the largest coupling strength among all the magnon modes, it only generates a modest voltage signal by means of inverse spin-Hall effect. We have found that the generated voltage can be significantly enhanced by introducing a higher order magnon mode, which possesses a much higher spin pumping efficiency and furthermore, it is nearly degenerated with the Kittel mode. The experimental results can be explained by our theoretical model, and suggest that the use of an auxiliary magnon mode can realize the configuration of a magnon-photon system with both strong coupling and large spin current.

A partial slotted curved waveguide leaky-wave antenna which can generate orbital angular momentum (OAM) mode-groups (MG) with high equivalent OAM order negative and positive 40 at 60 GHz is proposed in this paper. The proposed antenna with partial slotting is designed according to the circular traveling-wave antenna which can generate single conventional OAM wave, so it can be regarded as partial arc transmitting (PAT) scheme compared with the full 2pi aperture slotting of the circular traveling-wave antenna. The full-wave simulation results show that the generated OAM MGs present a high gain beam with a helical phase distribution. This method may lead to novel applications for next generation communication and radar system.

Abstract: we present a framework for robust autonomous driving motion planning system in urban environments which includes trajectory refinement, trajectory interpolation, avoidance of static and dynamic obstacles, and trajectory tracking. Given road centerline, our approach smoother the original line via cubic spline. Fifth order Bezier curve is then used to generate more human-like trajectories that guarantee at least second order continuity and curvature continuity. Dynamic trajectory planning task is decoupled into lateral spatial and longitudinal velocity planning problems. A bunch of candidate trajectory sets are generated and evaluated by an object function which considers kinematic feasibility, trajectory smoothness, driving comfort and collision-checking. Meanwhile, an LQG controller is used to generate longitudinal velocity profile to ensure safety and comfort. After that, spatial and velocity profiles are transformed into commands executed by lateral steering and longitudinal acceleration controllers. In this paper, we propose a novel linear quadratic Gaussian controller whose parameters can be automatically tuned. While linear quadratic regulator method has been widely used in adaptive cruise control system design, researchers have not yet proposed a feasible and effective linear quadratic regulator. Neither did they well tackle with process and measurement noise, nor did they solve the tedious and inefficient tuning problem in adaptive cruise control system design. To compensate for the noise, the authors introduced linear quadratic Gaussian where Kalman filter is applied. And to make the tuning process more efficient, genetic algorithm is used to search for the optimal linear quadratic Gaussian parameters., Comment: This paper only introduces the calculation results of application of PID, MPC, and LQD with GA. The technical new matters, contribution to education can not be found .it also proposes a tuning method for LQR's cost function. This concept has already been proposed. We investigate long-range coherent and dissipative coupling between two spatially separated magnets while both are coupled to a microwave cavity. A careful examination of the system shows that the indirect interaction between two magnon modes is dependent on their individual mechanisms of direct coupling to the cavity. If both magnon modes share the same form of coupling to the cavity (either coherent or dissipative), then the indirect coupling between them will produce level repulsion. Conversely, if the magnon modes have different forms of coupling to the cavity (one coherent and one dissipative), then their indirect coupling will produce level attraction. We further demonstrate the cavity-mediate nature of the indirect interaction through investigating the dependence of the indirect coupling strength on the frequency detuning between the magnon and cavity modes. Our work theoretically and experimentally explores indirect cavity mediate interactions in systems exhibiting both coherent and dissipative coupling, which opens a new avenue for controlling and utilizing light-matter interactions.

Vehicle Re-identification is attracting more and more attention in recent years. One of the most challenging problems is to learn an efficient representation for a vehicle from its multi-viewpoint images. Existing methods tend to derive features of dimensions ranging from thousands to tens of thousands. In this work we proposed a deep learning based framework that can lead to an efficient representation of vehicles. While the dimension of the learned features can be as low as 256, experiments on different datasets show that the Top-1 and Top-5 retrieval accuracies exceed multiple state-of-the-art methods. The key to our framework is two-fold. Firstly, variational feature learning is employed to generate variational features which are more discriminating. Secondly, long short-term memory (LSTM) is used to learn the relationship among different viewpoints of a vehicle. Epitaxial bilayer films of Bi(110) and Ni host a time-reversal symmetry (TRS) breaking superconducting order with an unexpectedly high transition temperature $T_c = 4.1$ K. Using time-domain THz spectroscopy, we measure the low energy electrodynamic response of a Bi/Ni bilayer thin film from $0.2$ THz to $2$ THz as a function of temperature and magnetic field. We analyze the data in the context of a BCS-like superconductor with a finite normal-state scattering rate. In zero magnetic field, all states in the film become fully gapped, providing important constraints into possible pairing symmetries. Our data appears to rule out the odd-frequency pairing that is natural for many ferromagnetic-superconductor interfaces. By analyzing the magnetic field-dependent response in terms of a pair-breaking parameter, we determine that superconductivity develops over the entire bilayer sample which may point to the $p$-wave like nature of unconventional superconductivity.

An electric method for measuring magnetic anisotropy in antiferromagnetic insulators (AFIs) is proposed. When a metallic film with strong spin-orbit interactions, e.g., platinum (Pt), is deposited on an AFI, its resistance should be affected by the direction of the AFI N eel vector due to the spin Hall magnetoresistance (SMR). Accordingly, the direction of the AFI N eel vector, which is affected by both the external magnetic field and the magnetic anisotropy, is reflected in resistance of Pt. The magnetic field angle dependence of the resistance of Pt on AFI is calculated by consider- ing the SMR, which indicates that the antiferromagnetic anisotropy can be obtained experimentally by monitoring the Pt resistance in strong magnetic fields. Calculations are performed for realistic systems such as Pt/Cr2O3, Pt/NiO, and Pt/CoO.
