Aim Previously, we found that diabetes-related liver dysfunction is due to activation of the 5-HT2A receptor (5-HT2AR) and increased synthesis and degradation of 5-HT. Here, we investigated the role of 5-HT in the development of atherosclerosis. Methods The study was conducted using high-fat diet-fed male ApoE－/－ mice, THP-1 cell-derived macrophages, and HUVECs. Protein expression and biochemical indexes were determined by Western blotting and quantitative analysis kit, respectively. The following staining methods were used: oil red O staining (showing atherosclerotic plaques and intracellular lipid droplets), immunohistochemistry (showing the expression of 5-HT2AR, 5-HT synthase, and CD68 in the aortic wall), and fluorescent probe staining (showing intracellular ROS). Results In addition to improving hepatic steatosis, insulin resistance, and dyslipidemia, co-treatment with a 5-HT synthesis inhibitor and a 5-HT2AR antagonist significantly suppressed the formation of atherosclerotic plaques and macrophage infiltration in the aorta of ApoE－/－ mice in a synergistic manner. Macrophages and HUVECs exposed to oxLDL or palmitic acid in vitro showed that activated 5-HT2AR regulated TG synthesis and oxLDL uptake by activating PKCe, resulting in formation of lipid droplets and even foam cells; ROS production was due to the increase of both intracellular 5-HT synthesis and mitochondrial MAO-A-catalyzed 5-HT degradation, which leads to the activation of NF-κB and the release of the inflammatory cytokines TNF-α and IL-1β from macrophages and HUVECs as well as MCP-1 release from HUVECs. Conclusion Similar to hepatic steatosis, the pathogenesis of lipid-induced atherosclerosis is associated with activation of intracellular 5-HT2AR, 5-HT synthesis, and 5-HT degradation.

For monitoring the earthquake ground motion, it is essential to rapidly and accurately detecting P waves' arrival in the seismic signal. To detect the seismic events and pick phases' arrival, some traditional methods are based on the statistical theory, such as the short-term average and long-term average ratio (STA/LTA) method, the modified energy ratio (MER) method and the Akaike information criteria (AIC) method. However, when the seismic event occurred, the ground motion signal no longer obeys the normal distribution, and the probability distribution of the seismic signals is unknown or uncertainty. Due to these problems, the traditional methods are limited to pick P waves. A new P waves' picking method is proposed based on grey relational analysis. The method depends on the grey relational coefficients, which are calculated by a known template and the seismic signal. The grey relational coefficients represent the similarity between a chosen template and the seismic signal. The grey relational coefficients' changes represent the P waves' arrival. Therefore, by calculating the grey relational coefficients, the P waves can be detected with a given confidence level. Through the sample analysis of Wenchuan Ms.8.0 Earthquake's main-shock and its aftershocks, by the grey relational analysis (GRA) method the P waves' picking mean error is 0.02s and its variance error is 0.053s respectively, which performs better than the mean error (0.09s) and variance error (0.18s) by the AIC method. To verify the robustness of the GRA method some random noises were added to the original seismic data, and the P waves' picking were performed by both the GAR method and the AIC method. Then the variance error of the GRA method increased to 0.10s, which is also less than the variance error (0.22s) by the AIC method. The simulation results shows that the GRA method not only provides the better accuracy than the AIC method, but also is suitable for the continuous seismic signals. The GRA method is based on the non-statistical theory and will be a beneficial attempt for the EEW system.

Background There is limited information about the types of recreational drugs used by men who have sex with men (MSM) in China or the consequent impact on sexual health and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) acquisition. Methods We recruited MSM from seven cities in China between 2012 and 2013 using multiple approaches including advertisements on gay websites, collaborating with local MSM community-based organizations, peer referrals, and venues such as gay bars and bathrooms visited by MSM. We divided participants into four subgroups based on the number of recreational drugs (RDs) used in the previous 6 months. We defined use of multiple RDs as use of ≥2 types of RDs. Demographics and HIV-related high-risk behaviors were collected, and blood samples were tested for recent HIV infection by the HIV-1 subtypes B, E, and D immunoglobulin G capture enzyme immunoassay (BED-CEIA). We used multivariable logistic regression adjusted for sociodemographics to determine the adjusted odds ratios (aORs) and associated 95% confidence intervals (CIs) of the subgroups of RD use for recent or established HIV infection. Results A total of 4496 Chinese MSM participated; 28.4% used RDs, and 5% used multiple types of RDs. The prevalence of each RD use was as follows: poppers (25.9%), ecstasy (2.4%), ketamine (1.2%), amphetamine (0.6%), tramadol (0.4%), methamphetamine (3.8%), and codeine (1.9%). Users of multiple RDs commonly used poppers combined with one or more other types of RDs. Multiple RD users were likely to be aged 26–30 years (vs. 18–25 and > 30 years), live in non-local cities (vs. local cities), never married (vs. married), have a high monthly income (vs. no income and 1–599 USD), use versatile positions during anal intercourse (vs. top or bottom), and have inadequate HIV-related prevention knowledge (vs. adequate). As the number of RDs used in the previous 6 months increased, the prevalence of HIV-related high-risk behaviors increased (P Conclusion The level and pattern of multiple RD use among Chinese MSM were different from high-income countries. MSM who used more RDs are more likely to engage in high-risk sexual behaviors, and these behaviors may be associated with increases in new HIV infections.

Detection of P waves in the seismic phrases is essential for studying the earthquake ground motion. A P waves’ automatic picking by detecting the changes of seismic signals’ stationary random process is put forward through the similarity analysis in the paper. Firstly a known template of stationary random process is composed or chosen. And the similarity coefficients between the chosen template and the seismic signal are calculated, and they present the stability of the seismic signal. Then a given threshold of the similarity coefficients’ changes is applied to detect the significant changes of the similarity coefficients, which represents the P waves’ arrivals. By the similarity coefficient method, the detecting results of P waves accompanied confidence level are obtained. This similarity analysis method was tested by both the main-shocks and the aftershocks of the Ms 8.0 Wenchuan Earthquake. Comparing the picking results, the similarity coefficient method performed better than the short-term and long-term average ratio (STA/LTA) algorithm. For given examples, the mean error of the P waves’ picking time by the similarity analysis method (−0.13 s) is less than the mean error by the STA/LTA method (−0.33 s). When noise is added, the mean error of the P waves’ picking time by the similarity analysis method increased to 0.25 s, that is still less than the mean error by the STA/LTA method (4.07 s).

CRF rats were treated with individual or combinational therapy with two or three of these agents. Biochemical indicators showed that the levels of blood urea nitrogen, creatinine and uric acid decreased and the levels of albumin and hemoglobin increased by single or combination therapy of these drugs. Drug treatment also decreased oxidative stress damage of renal tissues in CRF rats. Histopathological lesions were attenuated in each drug treatment group by various degrees. Additionally, drug treatment affected the expression of extracellular matrix (ECM) proteins including plasminogen activator inhibitor 1, collagen I, matrix metalloprotease-1, and tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases 1. In particular, the combination therapy of K, J, and Y was superior to the respective monotherapy, which supported the prescription of KJY combination. We further studied the inhibitory effect of KJY on LPS-induced inflammation in RAW264.7 macrophages. The results showed that KJY inhibited LPS-induced secretion of inflammatory cytokines (Interferon-gamma, Interleukin-1 Beta, chemokine (C-X-C motif) ligand 10, cyclooxygenase-2 and Tumor necrosis factor-α in RAW264.7 macrophages. Combination therapy of KJY suppressed the protein expression of Cyclooxygenase-2 and inducible nitric oxide synthase in vivo and in vitro . Further study indicated that KJY inhibited STAT1 activation by down regulating p-STAT1 to exert anti-inflammatory effect and improve renal function in rats with chronic renal failure.

As a widely used anticancer drug in the clinic, cisplatin has obvious side effects, especially nephrotoxicity. Previous studies have suggested that the accumulation of intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) is a hallmark of cisplatin-induced acute kidney injury. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between ROS accumulation induced by cisplatin and 5-HT degradation. In vivo, by HE and TUNEL staining, we found that cisplatin-induced renal lesions and apoptotic regions, which were located in proximal tubular epithelial cells, were also the regions in which tryptophan hydroxylase 1 (Tph1), aromatic l -amino acid decarboxylase (AADC), 5-HT2A receptor (5-HT2AR) and monoamine oxidase A (MAO-A) were overexpressed, as determined by immunohistochemistry. Notably, the 5-HT2AR antagonist sarpogrelate hydrochloride (SH) and the AADC inhibitor carbidopa (CDP) significantly attenuated cisplatin-induced increases in serum creatinine and blood urea nitrogen levels, renal ROS levels, oxidative stress (SOD activity and MDA), proinflammatory cytokine levels (NF-κB, TNF-α and IL-1β), proapoptotic factor levels (Bax, Bcl-2, C-caspase 3 and C-caspase 9) and the phosphorylation of p38 and STAT3, as well as renal lesions and apoptosis. The combination of SH and CDP could almost abolish the effects of cisplatin challenge. In vitro, the effects of cisplatin challenge and the inhibitory effects of SH and CDP were also observed in HK-2 cells. Additionally, similar to the combination of SH and CDP, the MAO-A inhibitor clorgyline could also abolish the effects of cisplatin challenge. More importantly, by western blotting, we detected that the upregulation of Tph1, AADC and MAO-A expression induced by cisplatin both in vivo and in vitro could be obviously suppressed by SH to decrease 5-HT synthesis and mitochondrial 5-HT degradation. Altogether, these findings suggested that cisplatin-induced nephrotoxicity is due to the activation of the 5-HT degradation system in proximal tubular epithelial cells, including 5-HT2AR and 5-HT synthesis and degradation. 5-HT2AR plays a role by mediating the expression of MAO-A and the 5-HT synthases Tph1 and AADC.

Aims To explore the relationship between renal ischemia/reperfusion injury (RIRI) and the activation of the renal 5-HT degradation system, including 5-HT2A receptor (5-HT2AR), 5-HT synthases and monoamine oxidase-A (MAO-A). Main methods Rat RIRI was induced by removing the right kidney, causing ischemia of the left kidney for 45 min and reperfusion for different times. RIRI model (ischemia for 45 min and reperfusion for 24 h) was pretreated with 5-HT2AR antagonist sarpogrelate hydrochloride (SH) and the 5-HT synthase inhibitor carbidopa. In HK-2 cells, cellular damage was induced by hypoxia (24 h)/reoxygenation (12 h) (H/R) and treated with SH, carbidopa or the MAO-A inhibitor clorgyline. Hematoxylin-eosin, immunohistochemistry, TUNEL and fluorescent probe staining, RT-qPCR, western blotting, ELISA, etc. were used in the tests. Key findings The development of RIRI and the emergence of the RIRI peak were consistent with renal 5-HT degradation system activation. The highest expression regions of the 5-HT degradation system overlapped with those of the most severe lesions in the kidney, which were in proximal renal tubules. Rat RIRI and HK-2 cell damage, including oxidative stress, inflammation and apoptosis, could be almost abolished by synergistic inhibition of SH and carbidopa. Clorgyline also abolished the cellular damage induced by H/R. H/R–induced production of mitochondrial ROS in HK-2 cells was due to MAO-A–catalyzed 5-HT degradation, and 5-HT2AR was involved by mediating the expression of 5-HT synthases and MAO-A. Significance These findings revealed a close association between RIRI and activation of the renal 5-HT degradation system.

5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) is involved in the pathological processes of several liver diseases. Acute liver injury underlies the development of many liver diseases, but the mechanism remains unclear. We aimed to investigate the role of 5-HT in carbon tetrachloride (CCl4)-induced acute liver injury. Acute liver injury was induced with CCl4 (10 mg/kg) in mice pretreated with the 5-HT2A receptor antagonist sarpogrelate hydrochloride (SH) and the 5-HT synthesis inhibitor carbidopa (CDP). LO2 cells were treated with CCl4, 5-HT or 2,5-dimethoxy-4-idopametamine and pretreated with SH, CDP or the monoamine oxidase A (MAO-A) inhibitor clorgyline. Hematoxylin-eosin staining, immunohistochemistry, Real-time quantitative PCR, western blotting, fluorescent probe and biochemical markers were used to evaluate liver compromise. 5-HT2A receptor, 5-HT synthetase and MAO-A were expressed in hepatocytes; their gene and protein expression were upregulated by CCl4, which led to the degradation of mitochondrial 5-HT and overproduction of reactive oxygen species (ROS). Hepatic injury may be aggravated by ROS, which induce oxidative stress and the phosphorylation of p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase, Jun N-terminal kinase, extracellular regulated protein kinase, signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 and nuclear factor kappa-B. 5-HT2A receptor may contribute to acute liver injury by modulating 5-HT synthase and MAO-A expression. The synergistic action of SH and CDP treatment may inhibit CCl4-induced acute liver injury in a dose-dependent manner. Hence, CCl4-induced acute liver injury is due to an increase in mitochondrial ROS production caused by increased 5-HT degradation and probably involves increases in 5-HT2A receptor expression and 5-HT synthesis.

Hepatic triglycerides production and adipose lipolysis are pivotal for long-term stress (LTS) or hyperglucocorticoidemia-induced insulin resistance. 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) has been demonstrated to induce hepatic lipid metabolic abnormality by activating mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR). In present study, we explored whether 5-HT is involved in LTS effects in liver using restraint stress-exposed rats and cultured primary rat hepatocytes and HepG2 cells. LTS with hyperglucocorticoidemia induced hepatic 5-HT synthetic increase with tryptophan hydroxylase 1 (Tph1) up-regulation, and 5-HT2 receptor (5-HT2R, including 5-HT2A, 2B receptor) up-regulation in liver and visceral adipose, as well as hepatic mTOR activation with triglycerides and VLDL overproduction with steatosis, and visceral adipose lipolytic increase with high blood free fatty acids (FFAs) level. 5-HT exposure exhibited LTS-like effects in both tissues, and both LTS and 5-HT effects could be abolished significantly by blocking 5-HT2R. In HepG2 cells dexamethasone or palmitate-induced mTOR activation with triglycerides and VLDL overproduction were accompanied by up-regulations of 5-HT synthesis and 5-HT2R, which were significantly abolished by gene silencing Tph1 or 5-HT2R and were almost fully abolished by co-silencing of both, especially on VLDL overproduction. Chemical inhibition of Tph1 or/and 5-HT2R in both hepatocytes exhibited similar abolishment with genetic inhibition on dexamethason-induced effects. 5-HT-stimulated effects in both hepatocytes were fully abolished by blocking 5-HT2R, while 5-HT itself also up-regulated 5-HT2R. In conclusion, up-regulated hepatic 5-HT synthesis and 5-HT2R induced by both glucocorticoid and FFAs are crucial for LTS-induced hepatic steatosis with VLDL overproduction, while 5-HT by acting on 5-HT2R mediates mTOR activation in liver.

Objectives. In the present study we try to elucidate the mechanism of Xiangqing anodyne spray (XQAS) effects on acute soft-tissue injury (STI).Methods. Acute STI model was established by hammer blow in the rat hind leg muscle. Within 8 hours, instantly after modeling and per 2-hour interval repeated topical applications with or without XQAS,CPorIHethanol extracts spray (CPS and IHS) were performed, respectively; muscle swelling rate and inflammation-related biochemical parameters, muscle histological observation, and mRNA and protein expression were then examined.Results. XQAS dose-dependently suppressed STI-caused muscle swelling, proinflammatory mediator productions, and oxidative stress as well as severe pathological changes in the injured muscle tissue. Moreover, CPS mainly by blocking p38 activation while IHS majorly by blocking AKT activation led to cytoplastic IκBαdegradation with NF-κB p65 translocated into the nucleus. There are synergistic effects betweenCPandIHcomponents in the XQAS on preventing from acute STI with suppressing IκBαdegradation, NF-κB p65 translocation, and subsequent inflammation and oxidative stress-related abnormality.Conclusion. Marked effects of XQAS on treating acute STI are ascribed to strong anti-inflammatory and antioxidative actions with a reasonable combination ofCPactive components, blocking p38-NF-κB pathway activated, andIHactive components, blocking AKT-NF-κB pathway activated.

The efficacy of antiretroviral drugs is limited by the development of drug resistance. Therefore, it is important to examine HIV drug resistance following the nationwide implementation of drug resistance testing in China since 2009. We conducted drug resistance testing in patients who were already on or new to HIV antiretroviral therapy (ART) in Shandong Province, China, from 2011 to 2013, and grouped them based on the presence or absence of drug resistance to determine the effects of age, gender, ethnicity, marital status, educational level, route of transmission and treatment status on drug resistance. We then examined levels of drug resistance the following year. The drug resistance rates of HIV patients on ART in Shandong from 2011 to 2013 were 3.45% (21/608), 3.38% (31/916), and 4.29% (54/1259), per year, respectively. M184V was the most frequently found point mutation, conferring resistance to the nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor, while Y181C, G190A, K103N and V179D/E/F were the most frequent point mutations conferring resistance to the non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor. In addition, the protease inhibitor drug resistance mutations I54V and V82A were identified for the first time in Shandong Province. Primary resistance accounts for 20% of the impact factors for drug resistance. Observations of surface deformation are essential for understanding a wide range of geophysical problems, including earthquakes, volcanoes, landslides, and glaciers. Current geodetic technologies, such as global positioning system (GPS), interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR), borehole and laser strainmeters, are costly and limited in their temporal or spatial resolutions. Here we present a new type of strainmeters based on the coaxial cable Bragg grating (CCBG) sensing technology that provides cost-effective strain measurements. Two CCBGs are introduced into the geodetic strainmeter: one serves as a sensor to measure the strain applied on it, and the other acts as a reference to detect environmental noises. By integrating the sensor and reference signals in a mixer, the environmental noises are minimized and a lower mixed frequency is obtained. The lower mixed frequency allows for measurements to be taken with a portable spectrum analyzer, rather than an expensive spectrum analyzer or a vector network analyzer (VNA). Analysis of laboratory experiments shows that the strain can be measured by the CCBG sensor, and the portable spectrum analyzer can make measurements with the accuracy similar to the expensive spectrum analyzer, whose relative error to the spectrum analyzer R3272 is less than ±0.4%. The outputs of the geodetic strainmeter show a linear relationship with the strains that the CCBG sensor experienced. The measured sensitivity of the geodetic strainmeter is about −0.082 kHz/μe; it can cover a large dynamic measuring range up to 2%, and its nonlinear errors can be less than 5.3%.

Because of time, cost or safety restrictions, multi-sensor measurement results are commonly of poor information characterized by small data samples and an unknown data distribution. A dynamic bootstrap grey method is proposed to handle such problems considering that traditional statistical methods cannot. For small data samples, the proposed method has a lower relative estimation error of the measurement results compared to the grey bootstrap method and the Monte Carlo method. It is also superior to the Bessel method for large data samples. Based on two sets of experimental data, the estimation reliability of the dynamic bootstrap grey method is above 95% with a confidence level of 99.7% while providing a very low relative error of the estimated expected measured value and estimated measurement uncertainty. The presented results show that the dynamic bootstrap grey method can estimate the measurement results successfully without requiring data distribution information or a large sample size.

To avoid or relief the fatal damage of an earthquake, a seismic automatic alarm system was put forward to meet the needs of power plant. Both a digital accelerometer AKE392B and a programmable automation controller SC200AD-1 were introduced to compose the earthquake emergency alarm system. The AKE392B converts the acceleration of ground motion into a series of digital signal, and this digital signal is transferred to the SC200AD-1 by the field bus EIA485. The PAC in the system is applied to collect the ground motion data, remove the non-seismic interrupts, access an earthquake’s intensity, carry out emergency auto-handling actions by ON/OFF values, and generate emergency alarm to its parent system, power plant management system. Through theory and experiment analysis, the earthquake emergency alarm system could be easily built to measure the ground motion acceleration in accuracy, and generate the seismic emergency alarm rapidly.

Our previous study has demonstrated that long-term stress, known as chronic stress (CS), can aggravate nonalcoholic fatty liver disease in high-fat diet (HFD)-fed rat. In this study, we tried to figure out which lipid metabolic pathways were impacted by CS in the HFD-fed rat. Male Sprague-Dawley rats (6 weeks of age, n = 8 per group) were fed with either standard diet or HFD with or without CS exposure for 8 weeks. Hepatic lipidosis, biochemical, hormonal, and lipid profile markers in serum and liver, and enzymes involved in de novo lipogenesis (DNL) of fatty acids (FAs) and cholesterol, β-oxidation, FAs uptake, triglycerides synthesis, and very low-density lipoprotein (VLDL) assembly in the liver were detected. CS exposure reduced hepatic lipidosis but further elevated hepatic VLDL content with aggravated dyslipidemia in the HFD-fed rats. There was a synergism between CS and HFD on VLDL production and dyslipidemia. PCR and western blot assays showed that CS exposure significantly promoted hepatic VLDL assembly in rats, especially in the HFD-fed rats, while it had little impact on DNL, β-oxidation, FAs uptake, and triglycerides synthesis in the HFD-fed rats. This phenomenon was in accordance with elevated serum glucocorticoid level. The critical influence of CS exposure on hepatic lipid metabolism in the HFD-fed rats is VLDL assembly which might be regulated by glucocorticoid.

In various kinds of natural disasters, earthquake is one of the most serious threats to the lifeline engineering systems. In the earthquake, except of the structure was destroyed, the function of the lifeline engineering systems was often subject to serious damages or totally loss, even caused fire or blood, or gave away poisonous gas and other series of major secondary disasters. To strengthen the function of the lifeline engineering and avoid or reduce the occurrence of secondary disasters, a demonstrated system of earthquake emergency auto-handling applied in water supply was built. The system was composed by the ED-1 type ground motion sensor module unit, the Panasonic FP-X C30R type PLC unit, The Kunlun Tongtai TPC7062K type unified touch screen unit and the multifunction water tower testing unit. The STA/LTA method and spectral intensity method were applied to deal with the distant earthquake and the near earthquake separately. Through theory and experiment analysis, the earthquake emergency auto-handling system could accurately measures the seismic records and performs the earthquake emergency auto-handling rapidly.

According to the S3C6410 processor with ARM11 core and the hardware circuits, the WINCE6.0 power management process was analyzed in this paper. The wake-up function was realized through the external interrupt. The interactive capabilities of the system was improved by this function, which could also make a better use of battery and reduce power consumption.

ObjectivesTraditionally, subjects' migration status has usually been defined on the basis of their registered residency status. We attempted to redefine migration based on the duration of residency in their cities of migration and to explore more precisely the impact of migration on HIV infection risk in men who have sex with men (MSM).MethodsA multisite cross-sectional study was conducted during 2012–2013 in seven Chinese cities. Questionnaire surveys were conducted and blood was drawn to test for antibodies to HIV, syphilis and herpes simplex virus-2 (HSV-2). MSM who were unregistered local residents and had resided in their cities of migration for ≤1 or >1 year were defined as migrant MSM, or transitional MSM, respectively.ResultsCompared with transitional MSM and local MSM, migrant MSM had poorer HIV knowledge and higher rates of high-risk behaviour, including earlier sexual debut, multiple sexual partners, participation in commercial sex and recreational drug use. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that HIV prevalence among migrant MSM was higher than local MSM (p0.05). Male sex work, recreational drug use, syphilis infection and HSV-2 infection were independently associated with HIV infection among migrant MSM.ConclusionsNon-local MSM with shorter residence were at greater risk of HIV acquisition. More focus should be placed on HIV behavioural interventions targeting non-local MSM with temporary residence.

With the development of economy, increase of cultural exchanges and changes of people's ideology in China, the number of female sex workers (FSWs) increased rapidly under the influence of various social factors. The diverse motivations for women engaging in commercial sex have been observed. Foreign researchers have conducted some surveys of factors associated with female commercial sex, while few such studies were conducted among FSWs in China. This paper summarizes the progress in the research of reasons for women engaging in commercial sex both at home and abroad to provide evidence for future study.

To understand the gender characteristics, HIV/AIDS related knowledge awareness and behaviors of transgender women.A questionnaire survey was conducted among the transgender women recruited through snowball sampling in Jinan in 2014, and descriptive epidemiologic analysis was conducted on the survey results.A total of 55 transgender women were surveyed, all of them were male physically and female psychologically. Serious gender conflict occurred in 27 subjects (49.1%), and very serious gender conflict occurred in 8 subjects (14.5%). Thirty subjects dressed up as a man in social life, accounting for 54.5%; 25 subjects dressed up as a women in social life, accounting for 45.5%. The average awareness rate of HIV/AIDS related knowledge was 57.9%(22/38). The awareness of knowledge about AIDS associated behaviors, such as multi sex partner and anal sex, was poor. For the lovers or sexual partners, 58.2% of the subjects (32/55) would choose males and 50.9% of the subjects (28/55) had chosen males, and for the sex partner at latest sex, 63.6%(35/55) of the subjects had chosen males. Up to 56.3% of the subjects had sex with casual sexual partners (net friends and partners of one-night stand) at latest sex behavior. Among the subjects surveyed, 18(32.7%) never used condoms; 29(52.7%) used condoms occasionally; 4(7.3%) used condoms frequently and 4(7.3%) used condoms at each sex.AIDS associated high risk behaviors were common among the transgender women, such as unprotected anal sex, multiple sexual partners, frequent sex and poor condom use. It is necessary to conduct the study of the HIV infection prevention in transgender women.

The histological boundary between benign and malignant vascular tumors is not clear. Thus, the discrepancies between clinical judgement and pathological diagnosis often lead to a difficult clinical decision, and may result in misdiagnosis. In order to develop more effective treatment methods, the clinical and pathological data concerning rare vascular tumors should be comprehensively analyzed. To clarify the important roles of clinical and pathological analyses in vascular tumors, three rare vascular tumor cases that we encountered in clinical practice are analyzed and reported in detail.
