Abstract Engineering a catalytic membrane capable of efficiently removing emerging organic microcontaminants under ultrahigh flux conditions is of significance for water purification. Herein, drawing inspiration from the functional attributes of lymphatic vessels involved in immunosurveillance and fluid transport with minimal energy consumption, a novel hierarchical porous catalytic membrane is engineered. This membrane, based on an innovative nitrogen‐rich conjugated microporous polymer (polytripheneamine, PTPA), is synthesized using an electrospinning coupled in situ polymerization approach. The resulting bioinspired membrane with hierarchical channels comprises a thin layer (≈1.7 µm) of crosslinked PTPA nanoparticles covering the interconnected electrospun nanofibers. This unique design creates an intrinsic microporous angstrom‐confined system capable of activating peroxymonosulfate (PMS) to generate 98.7% singlet oxygen (1O2), enabling durable and highly efficient degradation of microcontaminants. Additionally, the presence of a thin layer of mesoporous structure between PTPA nanoparticles and macroporous channels within the interwoven nanofibers enhances mass transfer efficiency and facilitates high flux rates. Notably, the prepared hierarchical porous organic catalytic membrane demonstrates enduring high‐efficiency degradation performance with a superior permeance (>95% and >2500 L m−2 h−1 bar−1) sustained over 100 h. This work introduces an innovative pathway for the design of high‐performance catalytic membranes for the removal of emerging organic microcontaminants.

Abstract In rock engineering, high-voltage pulse technology has attracted attention because it offers environmental protection, controllable energy, and repeatable discharge. It is necessary to study the fracture behavior of rock under high-voltage pulse discharge (HVPD) for the parametric design of rock breaking thereby. HVPD experiments were conducted in red sandstone samples with the plasma channel spacing ranging from 26 to 66 mm at intervals of 10 mm. The stress wave generated by HVPD was obtained from the current waveform measured by Rogowski coils. In combination with numerical simulations, the distribution characteristics, propagation process, and formation mechanism of fractures were analyzed. The results showed that after two applications of HVPD at different positions, the sample was both broken down and two plasma channels and radial fractures centered around them were formed within. The stress wave decays exponentially with the increase of the distance from the plasma channel. When the spacing between plasma channels is less than or equal to 46 mm, fracture coalescence occurs between the two plasma channels; thereafter, the fractures formed by the second HVPD face resistance to propagation towards the fracture area formed by the first HVPD. In addition, numerical simulation results indicate that the second HVPD will generate significant tensile stress in the middle region of the two plasma channels, leading to near-horizontal fracture coalescence. When the spacing between plasma channels increases to 56 mm and 66 mm, the tensile stress induced by the second HVPD in the middle region of the sample is small, and it is difficult to form fracture coalescence between the two channels.

Abstract Engineering porous organic polymers (POPs) into 1D morphology holds significant promise for diverse applications due to their exceptional processability and increased surface contact for enhanced interactions with guest molecules. This article reviews the latest developments in nanofibrous POPs and their derivatives, encompassing porous organic polymer nanofibers, their composites, and POPs‐derived carbon nanofibers. The review delves into the design and fabrication strategies, elucidates the formation mechanisms, explores their functional attributes, and highlights promising applications. The first section systematically outlines two primary fabrication approaches of nanofibrous POPs, i.e., direct bulk synthesis and electrospinning technology. Both routes are discussed and compared in terms of template utilization and post‐treatments. Next, performance of nanofibrous POPs and their derivatives are reviewed for applications including water treatment, water/oil separation, gas adsorption, energy storage, heterogeneous catalysis, microwave absorption, and biomedical systems. Finally, highlighting existent challenges and offering future prospects of nanofibrous POPs and their derivatives are concluded.

PurposeTo ascertain the quantity of instances by which a single surgeon achieves competency and proficiency in using tubularized incised plate (TIP) technique for the repair of distal and mid-shaft hypospadias using the cumulative sum (CUSUM) analysis.MethodsWe retrospectively evaluated patients with distal and mid-shaft hypospadias who were treated by a single surgeon between 2015 and 2021, using a single primary TIP technique with a de-epithelialized Byars flap. Data including type of hypospadias, age at surgery, curvature, operation time (OT), length of the reconstructed urethra, and postoperative outcomes were collected and assessed. CUSUM was used to assess the trends in OT and complication rate (CR) in order to generate the learning curve. The evolution of OT and CR can be divided into three phases: learning, competence, and proficiency.ResultsCUSUM identified three phases in the learning curves of all TIP repairs. The cell structure of a gasoline particulate filter (GPF) is made up of thousands of individual cells. Although the symmetric square cell structure of the GPF is commonly used internationally, several cell designs have been proposed to reduce the pressure drop in the GPF trapping process. The aim of this paper was to use AVL-Fire software to establish GPF models of different cell structures, mainly including the symmetric square cell structure, asymmetric square cell structure, and symmetric hexagonal cell structure, and analyze the GPF pressure drop characteristics of different cell structures according to the carrier structural parameters and altitude. The results show that compared with the pressure drop of the symmetric square cell structure, the pressure drop of the asymmetric cell structure with inlet/outlet side length ratios ranging from 1.1 to 1.4 is decreased by 4.61%, 9.07%, 12.19%, and 13.22%, respectively, and the pressure drop of the symmetric hexagonal cell structure is decreased by 33.17%. Both asymmetric and symmetric hexagonal cell structure GPFs can decrease the pressure drop during trapping by increasing the cell density. From 200 CPSI to 300 CPSI, the pressure drop of the asymmetric cell structure with inlet/outlet side length ratios ranging from 1.1 to 1.4 is decreased by 20.43%, 20.53%, 20.39%, and 18.56%, respectively, and the pressure drop of the symmetric hexagonal cell structure is decreased by 18.70%. The pressure drop values of GPFs with asymmetric and symmetric hexagonal cell structures show an increasing trend with an increasing filter wall thickness and inlet/outlet plug length. The pressure drop values of GPFs with asymmetric and symmetric hexagonal cell structures show an increasing trend with an increasing altitude, and the larger the inlet/outlet ratio, the more significant the increase in the pressure drop.

Accurate real-time information on road slopes and the capacity to forecast future moment gradient values are critical for the vehicle control, stability, and driving comfort. Thus, this study proposes a stacking model method for road slope estimation of electric vehicles. Gated Circulation unit (GRU), Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), and CNN-GRU are used as the base classifiers, and Multilayer Perceptron (MLP) is used as a meta-classifier. The vehicle dynamics equations are examined to select the appropriate parameters to feed into the base classifier for training. The meta-classifier is trained using the estimated results from the basic classifier. The current slope values are estimated by slicing the training set by data sampling time and windowing the training data set to predict the future slope values in 2s, 3s, and 4s. Road experiments are conducted, and error indicators are selected for evaluation. The stacking model is compared with each base classifier, Adaptive Kalman filter, Recursive Least Squares with Forgetting Factor and Back Propagation Neural Network for estimating the current moment slope, and it is verified that the stacking model can better estimate the current slope value and outperform the conventional algorithm. Comparing the stacking model with the predicted results of each base classifier for future time slope prediction shows that the stacking model is more accurate at predicting the slope values in the short future time.

Here, Chen et al. demonstrate operation speed of 20 ns and power consumption of 10 fJ using graphdiyne oxide as a threshold switching layer instead of a dielectric blocking layer.

Five typical in-use city buses in Tangshan with different emission standards, fuel power types, and emission control technology routes were selected as the research objects. PEMSs (Portable Emissions Measurement Systems) and OBD (On-Board Diagnostic) remote monitoring technologies were used to conduct research on actual road conditions and emission characteristics. The research aimed to analyze the driving characteristics of different power types of bus engines and after-treatment systems, as well as their impact on emissions. The results indicated that the actual road driving is mainly in the urban and suburban areas of the local region. Additionally, the VSP (Vehicle Specific Power) was found to be distributed in the low- and medium-speed range of mode Bin0~Bin24. The emission rates of each pollutant showed an increasing trend with the increase in VSP. THC and NOx emissions of CNG and LNG buses are significantly higher than those of gas–electric hybrid buses. However, the PM emissions are lower. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the NOx emission control of CNG and LNG buses. With the improvement in emission standards and the use of hybrid technology, CO2 and NOx emissions of China IV buses can be reduced by 13% and 53.5% compared with China III buses of the same tonnage. The CO2 and NOx emissions of China V buses using natural gas combustion and an electric mixture are 20% and 18.8% lower than those of China V buses of the same tonnage using only natural gas. In the actual operation of the diesel–electric hybrid bus equipped with the SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) system, the working time of the engine is about 35.5 ± 5%, and the working time of the SCR system only accounts for 65.5 ± 12%. The low working conditions of the SCR system and the low temperature of SCR system are the reasons for the high NOx concentration at the rear end of the SCR system when the hybrid electric bus is running at low speeds.

Graphynes (GYs) are a series of artificial carbon allotropes composed of sp- and sp2-hybridized carbon atoms. Although theoretical studies predict many possible GY structures, synthesizing them as real materials is extremely challenging. Among a few synthesized GYs, γ-GY has attracted extensive research interest over the past decade because it is predicted to possess fascinating properties such as direct bandgap, tunable electronic structure, high carrier mobility, two-dimensional ultrathin nature, and nanoporosity. This review first describes the structures and intrinsic properties of γ-GY predicted using theoretical calculations and introduces its potential applications based on the predicted properties. Further, this review summarizes the reported synthesis methods of γ-GY, including mechanochemical synthesis, Sonogashira coupling, Castro–Stephens coupling, and alkyne metathesis, and discusses their advantages and limitations. The material quality of γ-GY synthesized by each method is evaluated according to characterization results. Finally, this review outlines the challenges and opportunities in this field, critically highlighting that at present, most of the synthesized γ-GY materials lack long-range structural order and precise control over the layer number, defects, and impurities. As the synthesis of a well-defined high-quality material is the basis for reliable mechanistic and performance studies, this review aims to inspire the development of more efficient synthesis methods for γ-GY and other types of GYs.

Summary: Background: Visceral adipose tissue (VAT) is involved in the pathogenesis of Crohn's disease (CD). However, data describing its effects on CD progression remain scarce. We developed and validated a VAT-radiomics model (RM) using computed tomography (CT) images to predict disease progression in patients with CD and compared it with a subcutaneous adipose tissue (SAT)-RM. Methods: This retrospective study included 256 patients with CD (training, n = 156; test, n = 100) who underwent baseline CT examinations from June 19, 2015 to June 14, 2020 at three tertiary referral centres (The First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-Sen University, The First Affiliated Hospital of Shantou University Medical College, and The First People's Hospital of Foshan City) in China. Disease progression referred to the development of penetrating or stricturing diseases or the requirement for CD-related surgeries during follow-up. A total of 1130 radiomics features were extracted from VAT on CT in the training cohort, and a machine-learning–based VAT-RM was developed to predict disease progression using selected reproducible features and validated in an external test cohort. Using the same modeling methodology, a SAT-RM was developed and compared with the VAT-RM. Abstract Artificial synapses and neurons are crucial milestones for neuromorphic computing hardware, and memristors with resistive and threshold switching characteristics are regarded as the most promising candidates for the construction of hardware neural networks. However, most of the memristors can only operate in one mode, that is, resistive switching or threshold switching, and distinct memristors are required to construct fully memristive neuromorphic computing hardware, making it more complex for the fabrication and integration of the hardware. Herein, we propose a flexible dual‐mode memristor array based on core–shell CsPbBr3@graphdiyne nanocrystals, which features a 100% transition yield, small cycle‐to‐cycle and device‐to‐device variability, excellent flexibility, and environmental stability. Based on this dual‐mode memristor, homo‐material‐based fully memristive neuromorphic computing hardware—a power‐free artificial nociceptive signal processing system and a spiking neural network—are constructed for the first time. Our dual‐mode memristors greatly simplify the fabrication and integration of fully memristive neuromorphic systems.

Objective To describe standard and modified de-epithelialized Byars’ flap techniques in tubularized incised plate urethroplasty and evaluate postoperative outcomes. Methods We retrospectively evaluated data for 404 primary hypospadias repair patients who underwent standard (Group A) or modified (Group B) urethroplasty between January 2016 and 2021. Group B’s data were analyzed to evaluate whether our modified technique was effective for all hypospadias types. Results There was no difference in the ratio of different hypospadias types between Groups A (n = 145) and B (n = 259). Median follow-up duration was 35 months. Fistula occurred in 19 patients in Group A and 12 in Group B (statistically significant difference). The total complication rate was statistically significantly different between the groups. In Group B, 3/142 patients with distal hypospadias developed urethrocutaneous fistula vs 4/95 with mid-shaft hypospadias and 5/22 with proximal hypospadias. No difference was noted between the distal and mid-shaft groups. Significant differences were observed when comparing distal and mid-shaft groups with the proximal group; total complication rates were similar. Glans dehiscence and meatal stenosis rates were similar between Groups A and B, and among the hypospadias phenotypes. Conclusion Our modified procedure is simple to perform and yields excellent results in distal and mid-shaft hypospadias repair.

This paper investigated the physical and chemical properties of gasoline direct injection (GDI) engine particulate matter (PM). The physical properties mainly included the particulate aggregate morphology, primary particle size, and internal nanostructure. High-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were used to obtain particle morphology information and to conduct image processing and analysis. The chemical characterization tests included X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), energy dispersive scanning (EDS), Raman spectroscopy, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA). XPS can be used to observe the content of carbon and oxygen components and the surface carbon chemistry status, EDS can be used to obtain the elemental composition of particles, and TGA is used to analyze the oxidative kinetics of particles. Samples were collected from the exhaust emissions of a passenger vehicle compliant with China’s VI emission standards under China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle (CLTC) test conditions. The study found that the particle morphology mainly comprised primary particles stacked on top of each other to form agglomerate structures, and the primary particles exhibited a core–shell structure. Analysis showed that carbon and oxygen were the predominant components of the particles, with other metallic elements also present. The XPS observations agreed with the FTIR results, indicating a small amount of oxygen was present on the particle surface and that the carbon components consisted mainly of sp2 hybridized graphite and sp3 hybridized organic carbon. The TGA results indicated high characteristic temperatures and low oxidation activity.

This research aims to explore the fracturing behaviors of sandstone subjected to pulsed high-voltage discharge (PHVD) under different static pressures. An experimental method of rock fracturing induced by inter-hole PHVD was proposed. The static pressure was applied to the specimens, then the proposed method was applied to induce electrical breakdown testing under static loading. The microscopic fracture morphology of the sandstone was observed. The influences of the direction and level of static pressure on the crack length and fractal dimension of sandstone under the effect of PHVD were discussed. The results indicated that in the absence of static pressure, there are a discharge channel and multiple radial cracks in the sandstone after electric breakdown. The microscopic analysis implies that rock failure in the zone around the discharge channel is mainly influenced by the high temperature; while radial cracks are induced by shock waves. When static pressure is vertical to the discharge channel, tensile and compressive stresses concentrate in different parts around the discharge channel, which can remarkably alter the distribution zone and propagation path of cracks. In addition, the fractal dimension and total length of cracks first decrease, then increase with increasing static pressure. When static pressure is parallel to the discharge channel, the distribution characteristics and propagation direction of cracks are unchanged; however, under this loading mode, circularly distributed hoop tensile strains are generated at the zone around the discharge channel, which enables the fractal dimension and crack length increase with increasing static pressure.

Accurate and stable prediction of NOx emissions from diesel vehicles plays a crucial role in the establishment of virtual NOx sensors and the development and design of diesel engines. This paper presents a method for estimating transient NOx emissions by complete ensemble empirical mode decomposition with adaptive noise (CEEMDAN) and a long- and short-term memory neural network (LSTM). First, the CEEMDAN algorithm is used to reduce the non-stationarity and volatility of the transient NOx emission data to obtain multiple subseries with different frequencies. Secondly, a predictive model is developed for each subsequence using an LSTM neural network. Finally, the results of each subsequence prediction are summed to obtain the final prediction. The proposed model uses NOx emission data generated by an EU IV diesel bus during real road driving. The results show that (1) The use of CEEMDAN can effectively improve the smoothness of NOx transient emission data, as well as facilitate more effective extraction of internal characteristics and variations of the raw data. (2) LSTM has better learning and prediction capability for transient changes in NOx emissions. (3) The results of CEEMDAN-LSTM for RMSE, R2, MAE and NRMSE are 46.11,0.98, 29.82 and 2.71, respectively, which are better than the other model with improved prediction performance.

Mesenteric teratoma is a rare extragonadal teratoma. Gliomatosis peritonei (GP) is mature glial tissue implanted into the peritoneum's surface and is mainly accompanied by ovarian teratoma. Only a few cases of gliomatosis have occurred in the extraperitoneum. We present a rare case of a 3-year-old boy who presented with extratesticular GP after excision of an immature mesenteric teratoma at 2 months old. After the extratesticular mass was excised, we found ductile tissue on the surface of the terminal spermatic cord and epididymis. Some ductile tissue of the epididymis was removed and sent to a laboratory for a pathological examination. The mass and the ductile tissue of the epididymis had a hard consistency. The pathological diagnosis was extratesticular gliomatosis. Complete surgical resection of the teratoma and GP is helpful for identifying the presence of malignant lesions and for preventing malignant transformation. However, characteristics of GP lesions are extensive and they are difficult to completely remove. Moreover, GP is usually benign. Therefore, the residual GP tissue was not completely removed in our case. The child is still in good health, but requires lifelong follow-up. In conclusion, we report our experience of a rare case of extraperitoneal GP from an extragonadal teratoma.

In this study, the immune microenvironment in Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) was characterized to determine if immune indices are predictive of severity. Serum samples from 54 treatment-naïve patients were analyzed quantitatively for inflammatory cytokines and immunoglobulins before and after the induction of chemotherapy. The initial serum sIL-2R, TNF-α, and IL-10 of untreated LCH patients with risk organ involvement (RO+) were significantly higher than those with single-system (SS) involvement. LCH patients with hematologic involvement exhibited a significantly higher sIL-2R, TNF-α, IL-10, and IL-1β expression, as compared to the group without involvement. sIL-2R, TNF-α, and IL-10 were increased in patients with liver or spleen involvement. Th cells have decreased in the liver+ and spleen+ group, and Ts cells were significantly decreased in non-response group after induction chemotherapy. The serum level of immune indices represents, to some extent, the severity of the disease. Pertinent laboratory inspections can be used to improve risk stratification and guide immunotherapy.

In order to deal with many influence factors of electric vehicles in driving under complex conditions, this paper establishes the system state equation based on the longitudinal dynamics equation of vehicle. Combined with the improved Sage–Husa adaptive Kalman filter algorithm, the road slope estimation model is established. After the driving speed and rough slope observation are input into the slope estimation model, the accurate road slope estimation at the current time can be obtained. The road slope estimation method is compared with the original Sage–Husa adaptive Kalman filter road slope estimation method through three groups of road tests in different slope ranges, and the accuracy and stability advantages of the proposed algorithm in road conditions with large slopes are verified.

The hybrid manufacturing method of laser cladding deposition (LCD) additive manufacturing and electrochemical machining (ECM) is a promising approach to advanced manufacturing technology for difficult machined materials. The anisotropic electrochemical performance of LCD-produced Ti6Al4V alloy was studied in 15 wt.% NaCl solution by polarization curve measurements and ECM tests. The horizontal-plane (X0Y plane) exhibits a more stable passive film in both static electrolyte and low current density ECM processes than the vertical-plane (X0Z plane). Additionally, the horizontal-plane exhibits a higher material removal rate and more consistent dissolved surface roughness in comparison with the vertical-plane during the high current density ECM process. The microstructure of the LCD-produced Ti6Al4V alloy on the horizontal-plane consisted of equiaxed-like prior-β grains and slightly finer α-laths but was composed by columnar prior-β grains and coarser α-laths on the vertical-plane. These differences in the microstructural characteristics produce the distinctions observed in the electrochemical dissolution behavior and electrochemical machinability on the horizontal- and vertical-planes.

Internal mechano-sensors, as an indispensable part of the proprioceptive system of intelligent equipment, have attracted enormous research interest because of their extremely crucial role in monitoring machining processes, real-time diagnosis of equipment faults, adaptive motor control and so on. The mechano-sensory structure with signal-transduction function is an important factor in determining the sensing performance of a mechano-sensor. However, contrary to the wide application of the cantilever beam as the sensory structure of external mechano-sensors in order to guarantee their exteroceptive ability, there is still a lack of an effective and widely used sensory structure to significantly improve the sensing performance of internal mechano-sensors. Here, inspired by the scorpion using the specialized slit as the sensory structure of internal mechano-sensilla, the slit is ingeniously used in the design of the engineered internal mechano-sensor. In order to improve the deformability of the slit wake, the hollowed-out design around the slit tail of biological mechano-sensilla is researched. Meanwhile, to mimic the easily deformed flexible cuticular membrane covering the slit, the ultrathin, flexible, crack-based strain sensor is used as the sensing element to cover the controllable slit wake. Based on the coupling deformation of the slit wake, as well as the flexible strain sensor, the slit-based mechano-sensor shows excellent sensing performance to various mechanical signals such as displacement and vibration signals.

For diesel engines, accurate prediction of NOx (Nitrogen Oxides) emission plays an essential role in virtual NOx sensor development and engine design under situations of actual road driving. However, due to the randomness and uncertainty in the driving process of diesel vehicles, it is difficult to make predictions about NOx emissions. In order to solve this problem, this paper proposes differential models for noise reductions of NOx emissions in time series. First, according to the internal fluctuation of time series, use SSA (Singular Spectrum Analysis) to reduce the noises of the original time series; second, use ICEEMDAN (Improved Complete Ensemble Empirical Mode Decomposition with Adaptive Noise) to decompose the noise-reducing data into several relatively stable subsequences; third, use the sample entropy to calculate the complexity of each subsequence, and divide the sequences into high-frequency ones and low-frequency ones; finally, use GRU (Gated Recurrent Unit) to complete the prediction of high-frequency sequences and SVR (Support Vector Regression) for the prediction of low-frequency sequences. To obtain the final models, integrate the prediction results of the subsequences. Make comparisons with five single models, SSA single-processing models, and ICEEMDAN single-processing models. The experimental results show that the proposed model can predict the instantaneous NOx emissions of diesel engines better than the single model and the model processed by SSA, and the differentiated model can effectively improve the execution speed of the model.

Openings such as windows and doors are essential components of architectural wall surfaces. It is still a challenge to reconstruct them robustly from unstructured 3D point clouds because of occlusions, noises and non-uniformly distributed points. Current research primarily focuses on meliorating the robustness of detection and pays little attention to the geometric correctness. To improve the reconstruction quality, assumptions on the opening layout are usually applied as rules to support the reconstruction algorithm. The commonly used assumptions, such as the strict grid and symmetry pattern, however, are not suitable in many cases. In this paper, we propose a novel approach, named an inference machine, to identify and use flexible rules in wall opening modelling. Our method first detects and models openings through a data-driven method and then refines the opening boundaries by global and flexible rules. The key is to identify the global flexible rules from the detected openings, composed by various combinations of alignments. As our method is oblivious of the type of architectural layout, it can be applied to both interior wall surfaces and exterior building facades. We demonstrate the flexibility of our approach in both outdoor and indoor scenes with a variety of opening layouts. The qualitative and quantitative evaluation results indicate the potential of the approach to be a general method in opening detection and modelling. However, this data-driven method suffers from the existence of occlusions and non-planar wall surfaces.

In bistatic multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar, range migration and invalidly synthesized virtual array resulting from the serious mismatch of matched filter make it difficult to estimate direction of departure (DOD) and direction of arrival (DOA) of high speed target using the traditional superresolution algorithms. In this study, a method for joint DOD and DOA estimation of high speed target using bistatic MIMO radar is proposed. After multiplying the received signals with the conjugate of the delayed versions of the transmitted signals, Fourier transform (FT) of the multiplied signals over both fast time and slow time is employed. Then, the target components of radar return corresponding to the different transmitted waveforms can be perfectly separated at the receivers by extracting the target frequency-domain data along slow-time frequency dimension when the delay between the transmitted signals and their subsequent returns is timed. By splicing the separated target components distributed along several range cells, the virtual array can be formed, and then DOD and DOA of high speed target can be estimated using the superresolution algorithm with the range migration and the mismatch of matched filter properly removed. Simulation results have proved the validity of the proposed algorithm.

Red dragon fruit or red pitaya (Hylocereus polyrhizus) is the only edible fruit that contains betalains. The color of betalains ranges from red and violet to yellow in plants. Betalains may also serve as an important component of health-promoting and disease-preventing functional food. Currently, the biosynthetic and regulatory pathways for betalain production remain to be fully deciphered. In this study, isobaric tags for relative and absolute quantitation (iTRAQ)-based proteomic analyses were used to reveal the molecular mechanism of betalain biosynthesis in H. polyrhizus fruits at white and red pulp stages, respectively. A total of 1946 proteins were identified as the differentially expressed between the two samples, and 936 of them were significantly highly expressed at the red pulp stage of H. polyrhizus. RNA-seq and iTRAQ analyses showed that some transcripts and proteins were positively correlated; they belonged to “phenylpropanoid biosynthesis”, “tyrosine metabolism”, “flavonoid biosynthesis”, “ascorbate and aldarate metabolism”, “betalains biosynthesis” and “anthocyanin biosynthesis”. In betalains biosynthesis pathway, several proteins/enzymes such as polyphenol oxidase, CYP76AD3 and 4,5-dihydroxy-phenylalanine (DOPA) dioxygenase extradiol-like protein were identified. The present study provides a new insight into the molecular mechanism of the betalain biosynthesis at the posttranscriptional level.

Fabrication of high-performance flexible solid-state supercapacitors (FSSCs) is significant for the booming development of flexible wearable electronic devices. Herein, we develop a novel porous sandwich-like film electrode material composed of rGO and conjugated microporous polymers (CMPs) to achieve FSSCs with high specific gravimetric capacitance and good rate performance by a simple vacuum filtration fabrication process coupled with a reduction process. The designed porous sandwich-like structure is beneficial for exposing more active sites, creating numerous ion transport channels, and enhancing the electron transport between rGO and CMPs. To overcome the poor processability of CMPs, we introduce a third monomer containing hydroxyl functional groups to synthesize a redox-active imine N-containing CMP (PTPAH) with high surface area via the one-step Buchwald–Hartwig (B–H) cross coupling reaction. The obtained porous sandwich-like composite film electrode of PTPAH and rGO (PTPAH@rGO) shows a high specific gravimetric capacitance (545 F g−1 at a current density of 1 A g−1 ) and good rate performance (450 F g−1 at a current density of 10 A g−1 ). PTPAH@rGO FSSCs fabricated with PVA/H2SO4 as a gel electrolyte demonstrate an excellent capacitance (220 F g−1 ) and a high power density (3345 W kg−1 ). This work offers a novel strategy to improve the dispersibility and processing performance of CMPs and provides a pathway to prepare CMP-based composite films as high-performance flexible electrodes, showing promising potential application as a next-generation power source. In practical engineering, multi-objective optimization often encounters situations where multiple Pareto sets (PS) in the decision space correspond to the same Pareto front (PF) in the objective space, known as Multi-Modal Multi-Objective Optimization Problems (MMOP). Locating multiple equivalent global PSs poses a significant challenge in real-world applications, especially considering the existence of local PSs. Effectively identifying and locating both global and local PSs is a major challenge. To tackle this issue, we introduce an immune-inspired reproduction strategy designed to produce more offspring in less crowded, promising regions and regulate the number of offspring in areas that have been thoroughly explored. This approach achieves a balanced trade-off between exploration and exploitation. Furthermore, we present an interval allocation strategy that adaptively assigns fitness levels to each antibody. This strategy ensures a broader survival margin for solutions in their initial stages and progressively amplifies the differences in individual fitness values as the population matures, thus fostering better population convergence. Additionally, we incorporate a multi-population mechanism that precisely manages each subpopulation through the interval allocation strategy, ensuring the preservation of both global and local PSs. Experimental results on 21 test problems, encompassing both global and local PSs, are compared with eight state-of-the-art multimodal multi-objective optimization algorithms. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed algorithm in simultaneously identifying global Pareto sets and locally high-quality PSs. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
