Nowadays, biopolymer stabilization as a promising eco-friendly approach in soft ground improvement has attracted wide attentions. However, the feasibility of using biopolymer as a green additive of cement-stabilized dredged sediment (CDS) with high water content is still unknown. In this study, guar gum (GG) and xanthan gum (XG) were adopted as typical biopolymers, and a series of unconfined compressive strength (UCS), splitting tensile strength (STS) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) tests were performed to evaluate the mechanical and microstructural properties of XG- and GG-modified CDSs considering several factors including biopolymer modification, binder–soil ratio and water–solid ratio. Furthermore, the micro-mechanisms revealing the evolutions of mechanical properties of biopolymer-modified CDS were analyzed. The results indicate that the addition of XG can effectively improve the strength of CDS, while the GG has a side effect. The XG content of 9% was recommended, which can improve the 7 d- and 28 d-UCSs by 196% and 51.8%, together with the 7 d- and 28 d-STSs by 118.3% and 42.2%, respectively. Increasing the binder–soil ratio or decreasing the water–solid ratio significantly improved the strength gaining but aggravated the brittleness characteristics of CDS. Adding XG to CDS contributed to the formation of microstructure with more compactness and higher cementation degrees of ordinary Portland cement (OPC)-XG-stabilized DS (CXDS). The micro-mechanism models revealing the interactions of multiple media including OPC cementation, biopolymer film bonding and bridging effects inside CXDS were proposed. The key findings confirm the feasibility of XG modification as a green and high-efficiency mean for improving the mechanical properties of CDS.

Circadian dysfunction is prevalent in neurodevelopmental disorders, particularly in autism spectrum disorder (ASD). A plethora of empirical studies demonstrate a strong correlation between ASD and circadian disruption, suggesting that modulation of circadian rhythms and the clocks could yield satisfactory advancements. Research indicates that circadian dysfunction associated with abnormal neurodevelopmental phenotypes in ASD individuals, potentially contribute to synapse plasticity disruption. Therefore, targeting circadian rhythms may emerge as a key therapeutic approach. In this study, we did a brief review of the mammalian circadian clock, and the correlation between the circadian mechanism and the pathology of ASD at multiple levels. In addition, we highlight that circadian is the target or modulator to participate in the therapeutic approaches in the management of ASD, such as phototherapy, melatonin, modulating circadian components, natural compounds, and chronotherapies. A deep understanding of the circadian clock’s regulatory role in the neurodevelopmental phenotypes in ASD may inspire novel strategies for improving ASD treatment.

Objective: To investigate the effects of Tuina targeting different body parts on the behaviors and gut microflora of rat models with valproic acid (VPA)-induced autistic spectrum disorder (ASD). Methods: Twenty female Sprague Dawley (SD) rats with 12.5 d of pregnancy were randomly divided into VPA model group [intraperitoneal injection of VPA (600 mg/kg), n = 15] and saline group (intraperitoneal injection of equal amount of normal saline, n = 5). The offspring male rats injected with saline were secleted as control group. The offspring male rats injected with VPA were randomly divided into VPA, dorsal, and abdominal groups (n = 7 in each group). On the 21st day after birth, three-chamber social test, open field test, and marble-burying test were carried out to observe the social abilities, anxiety behaviors, and stereotypical behaviors of rats in the four groups. Rats in dorsal and abdominal groups underwent Tuina for 14 d, twice a day. On the 35th day, behavioral tests were conducted again, and intestinal contents were taken for species composition and structural analysis, as well as marker and differential species analysis. Results: (i) According to behavioral observations, compared with VPA group, the social and movement time in the central open field of rats in dorsal group increased significantly (P < 0.05), and the number of buried marbles decreased markedly (P < 0.01), indicating improvement on their social abilities, anxiety behaviors, and stereotypical behaviors as consequences of dorsal Tuina; and the number of buried marbles was reduced as well in abdominal group when compared with VPA group (P < 0.05), suggesting the improvement on their stereotypical behaviors following abdominal Tuina. In the marble-burying test, the number of marbles buried in dorsal group was less than in abdominal group, and the stereotypical behaviors were improved more significantly (P < 0.05), and there were no significant differences in the three-chamber social and open field tests between the two groups (P >0.05). (ii) In accordance with intestinal microflora detection results, compared with VPA group, both dorsal and abdominal groups showed increased richness (P < 0.05) and elevated diversity (P < 0.05 in dorsal group and P < 0.01 in abdominal group) in intestinal microflora. The results of differential analysis indicated that at the phylum level, compared with VPA group, the relative abundance of Firmicutes in rats in abdominal group showed a significant reduction trend (P < 0.05); at the genus level, compared with VPA group, the relative abundance of Lactobacillus in rats in dorsal and abdominal groups decreased significantly (P < 0.05). Dorsal group also showed significant increase in the genus Blautia in the analysis of marker species compared with VPA group (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Tuina impacted the behavior and gut microflora structure of ASD model rats. Dorsal intervention had a significant effect on social abilities, anxiety behaviors, and stereotypical behaviors of ASD model rats, while abdominal intervention only had an obvious effect on stereotypical behaviors. Both dorsal and abdominal interventions increased the richness and diversity of gut microflora of ASD model rats, with abdominal intervention improving the intestinal microbial diversity more significantly and resulting in a more uniform species distribution.

ABSTRACTIn the automotive industry, the extended design and iteration cycles for integrated chassis typically span 2–3 years, creating a misalignment with swiftly changing market demands. Wire arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) technology presents a viable alternative, overcoming the limitations of conventional chassis production. Our holistic framework significantly condenses the design, optimisation, and validation stages for automotive chassis. Initially, a ground structure method is utilised to outline and generate a skeleton chassis. We then utilise the OpenCV image processing method to select a hollow skeleton chassis with minimal material occupancy (0.476) and suspension printing. Subsequently, we assess the influence of printing radian variations by the robotic arm on the microstructure and stress, employing a cellular automaton-finite element (CA-FE) model at the 150th and 200th layer benchmarks. A Kalman filter (KF) is also implemented to fine-tune the printing radian in regions with coarse grain structures and elevated solute concentrations. The process concludes with collision and modal simulation verifications of the skeleton chassis, affirming the optimisation's success. This streamlined methodology allows the completion of the chassis design and manufacturing cycle within a remarkably condensed time frame of one week, accelerating the development process by a factor of 120.

The overall carbonation of MgO-admixed soil provides not only an efficient and environmentally friendly technique for improving soft ground but also a permanently safe solution for CO2 sequestration. To evaluate the carbon sequestration potential and promote the carbonation application in soil improvement, a laboratory-scale model investigation is designed under pressurized carbonation considering the influences of MgO dosage and CO2 ventilation mode (way). The temperature, dynamic resilience modulus, and dynamic cone penetration (DCP) were tested to assess the carbonation treatment effect. The physical, strength, and microscopic tests were also undertaken to reveal the evolution mechanisms of CO2 migration in the MgO-carbonated foundation. The results indicate that the temperature peaks of MgO-treated foundation emerge at ∼20 h during hydration, but occur at a distance of 0–25 cm from the gas source within 6 h during carbonation. The dynamic resilience moduli of the model foundation increase by more than two times after carbonation and the DCP indices reduce dramatically. As the distance from the gas inlet increases, the bearing capacity, strength, and carbon sequestration decrease, whereas the moisture content increases. Compared to the end ventilation, the middle ventilation produces a higher carbonation degree and a wider carbonation area. The cementation and filling of nesquehonite and dypingite/hydromagnesite are verified to be critical factors for carbonation evolution and enhancing mechanical performances. Finally, the overall carbonation model is described schematically in three stages of CO2 migration. The outcomes would help to facilitate the practical application of CO2 sequestration in soil treatment.

Cement-based solidification is a widely used sustainable technology for transforming waste dredged sludge (DS) into backfill materials. This study developed a novel solidification/oxidization synergistic (SOS) method, using Portland cement as a binder and sodium persulfate (SP) as an oxidant, for treating the organic DS with different fulvic acid (FA) content. The results demonstrated that adding SP could significantly improve the UCS of the cement-solidified DS doped with FA. When the FA content was 4%, the 28-day UCS of the sample with 25% cement content was only 160.5 kPa. The addition of 6% SP increased the UCS to 2225.5 kPa, which was 15.1 times that of the sample without SP. However, excessive SP hydrolyzed to produce a large amount of sulfuric acid, leading to a low pH value of the pore solution. This in turn hindered further persulfate activation and cement hydration, which was detrimental to the strength of cement-solidified DS.

BackgroundThis study employs bibliometric methods to comprehensively understand the fundamental structure of research about Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Signaling Pathways by examining key indicators such as nations, institutions, journals, authors, and keywords.MethodologyWe utilized the WoScc database to retrieve literature relevant to ASD Signaling Pathways published between 2013 and 2023. Through visual analysis and tools like CiteSpace and VosViewer, we explored nations, institutions, journals, authors, and keywords, thereby constructing relevant networks.Results26 The study encompasses 1,396 articles, revealing a consistent increase in publications. The United States, China, and Germany are leading nations in this literature. Regarding research institutions, the University of California system and Eric Klann have garnered significant attention due to their substantial contributions to the field of ASD Signaling Pathways. Most relevant research is published in the journal “Molecular Autism.” Research interests are concentrated across various themes, including “elevating neuronal β-catenin levels,” “Tunisian children,” “Fmr1 knockout (KO) mice,” “de novo mutations,” “autistic children,” “local translation,” “propionic acid-induced mouse models,” “neurosystems,” “glucose metabolism,” and “neuronal migration.” Future research may emphasize exploring aspects such as gut microbiota, genes, stress, maternal immune activation, memory, and neurodevelopmental disorders of ASD.ConclusionThis study, through bibliometric analysis of key indicators such as nations, institutions, journals, authors, and keywords, provides a comprehensive overview of the current state of research on ASD Signaling Pathways. These investigations predominantly focus on molecular mechanisms, animal model studies, population-based research, and the structure and function of neurosystems. Future research directions are also clearly proposed. First, in-depth research on the genes and neurodevelopmental disorders associated with ASD will continue to reveal the genetic basis and provide support for precise treatments. At the same time, attention to the gut microbiota will help explore its association with ASD, which may provide clues for new treatments. In addition, the relationship between stress and ASD will become the focus of research to understand better the emotional and behavioral characteristics of ASD patients in stressful situations. Maternal immune activation will also be further studied to explore how environmental factors influence the risk and development of ASD. Finally, a deeper understanding of the cognitive functions of patients with ASD, especially memory and learning, will help develop individualized treatment strategies to improve patients’ quality of life. These directions will work together and are expected to provide a more comprehensive understanding of Signaling Pathways research in ASD and provide new ideas and opportunities for future intervention and treatment.

Introduction Neck pain is a common problem that severely affects physical and mental health. While musculoskeletal manipulations are recommended as the first-line treatment for adults with neck pain, the comparative effectiveness of different musculoskeletal manipulations remains unclear. This systematic review and network meta-analysis of randomised controlled trials (RCTs) will compare the effectiveness of different types of musculoskeletal manipulations, with the overarching aim of guiding clinical practice.Methods and analysis Two independent reviewers will search four English electronic databases (Web of Science, Cochrane Library, EMBASE, PubMed) and three Chinese electronic databases (China National Knowledge Infrastructure, China Science and Technology Journal Database, Wanfang) for relevant RCTs published from 1 January 2013 to 30 April 2023. The Clinical Trials Registry (ClinicalTrials.gov) will be searched for completed but unpublished RCTs. English and Chinese will be used to search English databases and Chinese databases, respectively. RCTs of musculoskeletal manipulations for adults (aged ≥18 years) with neck pain will be considered eligible for inclusion. A pairwise meta-analysis and network meta-analysis will be performed, and pooled risk ratios, standardised mean differences and 95% CIs will be determined.Ethics and dissemination Ethics approval is not required as this study is a literature review. The results of this review will be published in peer-reviewed journals or disseminated at conferences.PROSPERO registration number CRD42023420775.

Abstract Goethite nanoparticles modified biochar (FBC) could address the weak effectiveness of conventional biochar commonly to process heavy metal(loids) (HMs) co-contamination with different charges. However, few studies have focused on the change of soil mechanical properties after stabilization. In this study, FBC was synthesized to stabilize simultaneously arsenic (As (V)) (anions) and cadmium (Cd (II)) (cations) in co-contaminated soils. Batch adsorption, leaching toxicity, geotechnical properties and micro-spectroscopic tests were comprehensively adopted to investigate the stabilization mechanism. The results showed that FBC could immobilize As (V) mainly through redox and surface precipitation while stabilizing Cd (II) by electrostatic attraction and complexation, causing soil agglomeration and ultimately making rougher surface and stronger sliding friction of contaminated soils. The maximum adsorption capacity of FBC for As (V) and Cd (II) was 31.96 mg g−1 and 129.31 mg g−1, respectively. Besides, the dosages of FBC required in contaminated soils generally were approximately 57% higher than those in contaminated water. FBC promoted the formation of small macroaggregates (0.25–2 mm) and the shear strengths of co-contaminated soils by 21.40% and 8.34%, respectively. Furthermore, the soil reutilization level was significantly improved from 0.14–0.46 to 0.76–0.83 after FBC stabilization according to TOPSIS method (i.e., technique for order preference by similarity to an ideal solution). These findings confirm the potential of FBC in immobilizing As (V) and Cd (II) of co-contaminated soils and provide a useful reference for green stabilization and remediation of HMs co-contaminated sites. High-efficiency disposal of dredged sediment (DS) has become an imperative geo-environmental engineering issue due to the limited landfilling space and severe environmental burdens. This study firstly developed a novel high-efficiency nano-modified and chemical-activated binary cement (NBC), which was composed of binary cement (BC) consisting ordinary Portland cement (OPC) and ground granulated blast-furnace slag (GGBS), chemical-activator and nano-modifier. The effects of chemical-activation and nano-modification on the strength development of BC-stabilized DS (BCDS), and the optimum mix of NBC were respectively achieved via a series of unconfined compressive strength and orthogonal tests. Then, the high-efficiency and economic applicability of NBC in DS stabilization were evaluated by comparing with OPC. Furthermore, the microstructure and mineral composition evolutions inside NBC-stabilized DS (NDS) were explored by conducting X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) tests. The results show that both chemical-activation and nano-modification could effectively improve the strength gain of BCDS, and compared with single chemical-activator and nano-modifier, the composite chemical-activators and nano-modifiers exhibited better performances. Based on BC with OPC/GGBS mass ratio of 1:1, both anhydrous sodium metasilicate/anhydrous sodium sulfate (SM/SS) and nano-SiO2/nano-MgO (NS/NM) with mass ratio of 1:9 were respectively determined to be optimum chemical-activator and nano-modifier. The optimum mass ratio of BC, SM/SS and NS/NM was 20:2:1, i.e. the optimum mix of NBC. Compared with OPC, NBC exhibited higher stabilization efficiency and better economic applicability. The generation of calcium silicate hydrate (CSH), calcium aluminate hydrate (CAH) and ettringite contributed to the formation of dense cemented soil matrix inside NDS, and a conceptual micro-mechanism model characterizing the strength development under the coupling action of chemical-activation and nano-modification was proposed.

To address the problem that task-irrelevant objects such as cars, pedestrians and sky, will interfere with the extracted feature descriptors in cross-view image geo-localization, this paper proposes a novel method for cross-view image geo-localization, named as AENet. The method includes two main parts: an attention efficient network fusing channel and spatial attention mechanisms and a triplet loss function based on a multiple hard samples weighting strategy. In the first part, the EfficientNetV2 network is used to extract features from the images and preliminarily filter irrelevant features from the channel dimension, then the Triplet Attention layer is applied to further filter irrelevant features from the spatial dimension. In the second part, a multiple hard samples weighting strategy is proposed to enhance the learning of hard samples. Experimental results show that our proposed method significantly outperforms the state-of-the-art method on two existing benchmark datasets.

Summary: This study aimed to compare the efficacy of online exercise therapy with conventional exercise therapy for young adults with chronic neck pain. A randomized clinical trial recruiting 35 university students with self-reported chronic neck pain was conducted. The experimental group receiving 6-week online exercise therapy and active control group receiving the same face-to-face conventional exercise therapy. Visual analogue scale (VAS) for pain, Neck Disability Index (NDI), Work Limitations Questionnaire (WLQ), Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) and its subscales were evaluated. Both groups had improvements in VAS, NDI, HADS and WLQ scores from baseline to 6 weeks. All comparisons of changes in outcome variables between groups were not statistically significant. For young adults with chronic neck pain, both the online and conventional exercise interventions could improve their pain level, neck disability, anxiety state, and work efficiency. The online exercise intervention appeared feasible as an alternative treatment option for them.

AbstractThe Wenchuan earthquake triggered many landslides, which caused many casualties and led to considerable property losses. Due to the compositionality of the hypocenter mechanism of the Wenchuan earthquake, research on the effects of a composite hypocenter on the dynamic responses of landslides is urgently necessary. Using geological field investigations, a block discrete element method simulation, and related theoretical analysis, the dynamic formation mechanism and main controlling mechanical factors of the Tangjiashan landslide were revealed. The results demonstrated the following. Firstly, the dynamic responses of the slope involved progressive deformation, critical failure, disintegration, fragmentation, collision, climb, return, and accumulation. Secondly, when the earthquake lasted for approximately 23 s, the critical failure occurred, and the sliding mass near the shoulder reached a vertical acceleration of approximately 2.8 g at this time. Thirdly, the second and third subhypocenters contributed to the progressive deformation and critical failure, and vertical seismic forces were dominant contributions to these responses. Fourthly, the disintegration, fragmentation, collision, climb, return, and accumulation were mainly controlled by the self-gravity and local topography and were slightly influenced by subhypocenters. Based on these conclusions, the study of the dynamic formation mechanism of this type of landslide has increased the level of understanding.

Due to the influence of multiple tectonic movements in rift basins, the sequence and sedimentary filling modes of continental petroleum reservoirs are complex, which makes it difficult to establish isochronous stratigraphic frameworks and thus affects the accuracy of subsequent predictions of effective sand bodies. Taking the Guantao Formation of the Binxian uplift and the surrounding areas as an example, this study established the sequence stratigraphic framework of the Guantao Formation and discussed the controlling effect of sequence stratigraphy on sedimentary filling. According to a combination method of seismic data, well log data, the wavelet transform technique (WTT), and Integrated Prediction Error Filter Analysis (INPEFA) methods, the Guantao Formation in the study area can be divided into 1 long-term cycle (LNG), 4 mid-term cycles (MNG1–MNG4, from bottom to top), and 11 short-term cycles (SNG1–SNG11, from bottom to top). Based on comprehensive analysis of geological and seismic data, three sedimentary facies can be classified: alluvial fan facies, braided fluvial facies, and meandering fluvial facies. The sequence stratigraphic style of the study area has a significant controlling effect on sedimentation and sand body distribution. Different levels of cycles have different impacts on sedimentary facies/microfacies types, the development degree of each sedimentary microfacies, and sand body distribution. The long-term cycle controls the distribution of sedimentary facies, while the mid-term and short-term cycles control the distribution of sedimentary microfacies. The bottom interface of the Guantao Formation (T1) served as the dominant migration channel in the study area, connecting the reservoir and source rocks. When the base-level was in the low stage (MNG1), a large amount of sand bodies developed, forming favorable reservoirs for petroleum. The interlayers at the top of the long- and mid-term cycles served as seal layers to prevent oil and gas from escaping. The MNG1 cycle has a good combination of reservoir and seal, resulting in the accumulation of oil and gas in the MNG1 strata, which became the main oil- and gas-producing layer in the area. These study results can provide effective guidance for future prediction of the distribution of sand bodies and high-quality reservoirs.

Alluvial glutenite reservoirs have obviously stronger heterogeneous and more complex control factors than sandstone reservoirs. Taking the Binxian Uplift area in the Boahi Bay Basin as an example, the aim of this study is to clarify the characteristics and control factors of the alluvial glutenite reservoir quality and the influence of reservoir properties on hydrocarbon accumulation. Pore types in the study area mainly include residual intergranular pores, intergranular dissolved pores, intragranular dissolved pores, and mold pores. The residual intergranular pores and intergranular dissolved pores are the main pore types. Most samples have porosity greater than 15% and permeability is mainly concentrated between 50 mD and 500 mD. It is shown that lithology type, microfacies, and diagenesis have significant impact on the reservoir quality. The reservoir qualities of very fine sandstone and fine sandstone are better than those of conglomerate and gravel-bearing sandstone. Instead of grain size, sorting affects the alluvial glutenite reservoir quality significantly. Oil-bearing samples commonly have sorting coefficient less than 2 while non-oil-bearing samples have sorting coefficient larger than 2. There are significant differences in reservoir physical properties of different sedimentary microfacies. The stream flow in mid-alluvial fan (SFMA) and braided channels outside alluvial fans (BCOA) have relatively weaker compaction and better reservoir quality than the overflow sand body (OFSB) and debris-flow in proximal alluvial fan (DFPA). Calcite cementation, the main cement in the study area, commonly developed at the base of SFMA and BCOA and near the sandstone-mudrock contacts. The source of calcium carbonate for calcite cement mainly came from around mudstone. High calcite cement content commonly results in low porosity and permeability. Individual glutenite thickness is also an important influencing factor on reservoir quality. Reservoirs with large thickness (>4 m) have high porosity and permeability. Dissolution occurred in the reservoir, forming secondary dissolution pores and improving reservoir quality. The dissolution fluid for formation of secondary pores is mainly meteoric waters instead of organic acid. The reservoir property has an important influence on hydrocarbon accumulation. The lower limit of physical properties of an effective reservoir is a porosity of 27% and permeability of 225 mD. The findings of this study can be utilized to predict the reservoir quality of alluvial glutenite reservoirs effectively in the Bohai Bay Basin and other similar basins.

The lithofacies types, pore structure differences, and main controlling factors on the shale reservoirs are vital problems that need to be addressed in the process of shale oil exploration and development. This study explores the Luohe oilfield in the southern Ordos Basin, which is composed of organic-rich shale in the Chang 7 member, to clarify the reservoir properties and analyze major factors affecting the reservoir quality. The shale reservoir can be divided into five lithofacies using ternary diagrams of TOC, argillaceous minerals, and siliceous minerals: high organic-rich siliceous shale (HOSS), high organic-rich argillaceous shale (HOAS), medium organic-rich siliceous shale (MOSS), medium organic-rich argillaceous shale (MOAS), and low organic-rich shale (LOS). The type of organic matter in the studied samples is mainly Type I kerogen and Type II kerogen, predominantly Type II1 kerogen. The kerogen mostly lie within the mature zone in the study area. Various types of pores have been identified in the studied shale: intergranular pores, intragranular pores, intercrystalline pores, organic matter pores, and seams around organic matter. The pores are commonly nanoscale to micrometer in scale, with diameters ranging from 10 nm to several microns. The S1 content in shale is positively correlated with the macropore content, indicating that macropores in shale are the main effective oil storage spaces and are important for oil-bearing reservoirs. There is a good positive relationship between the macropore volume of shale and the content of organic matter. Organic matter in the shale can be beneficial for generating organic matter pores, dissolution pores, and seams at organic matter edge, resulting in better physical properties of shale reservoirs. There is a negative relationship between the quartz/feldspar content and macropores content, indicating that quartz and feldspar are detrimental for the macropore volume development. The lithofacies type is one of the important factors controlling the macropore volume. MOAS and HOAS are favorable lithofacies for the development of macropores. The findings of this study can be utilized for hydrocarbon exploration and development in the lacustrine shale formation of the Ordos Basin and other similar basins.

Catastrophic landslides have occurred frequently in the karst areas of Southwestern China for these years, which makes it urgently necessary to reveal their triggering mechanisms. The universal distinct element code (UDEC) was used to simulate whole response of the Pusa landslide during its underlying coal-seam mining. The results are as follows. First, under the given pre-conditions, when coal seams beneath the original slope were mined from bottom to top, caving zone, fracture zone, and deformation zone overlying the goaf gradually expanded; and as the uppermost layer was mined, the deformation, which was apparently characterized by subsidence and clockwise rotation, overwhelmed the slope. Second, under action of the heavy rainfall, the deformed slope, which was affected by the goaf, behaved further progressive deformation characterized by subsidence and clockwise rotation as a whole. Third, with continuous action of near stoping blasting vibrations, the more-deformed slope, which had been influenced by the goaf and the heavy rainfall, behaved continuous progressive deformation, critical failure, shattering, ejection, debris flow, and accumulation. The deformation exhibited significant subsidence, clockwise rotation, and collapse. These responses were verified by the field reconnaissance. It is the first time to explore dynamic triggering mechanism of the landslide triggered by the vibrations.

Abstract Background Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental condition characterized by repetitive stereotypical behavior and communication deficits. Currently, it lacks a specific clinical treatment method. Pediatric Tuina is a recent therapy in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and has been used to treat children with ASD. Nonetheless, it remains uncommon given the lack of large-scale evidence-based medical studies. This study aims to compare the efficacy of Tuina and conventional treatment in children with ASD. Methods Eligible children will be randomly assigned to either the pediatric Tuina plus conventional treatment group or to the conventional treatment alone group based on a random table at a ratio of 1:1. The effectiveness of the Tuina intervention for ASD will be evaluated by a third-party organization. The pre- and post-intervention scores on the Childhood Autism Rating Scale comprised the primary outcome, whereas pre- and post-intervention scores on the Autism Treatment Evaluation Checklist were the secondary outcomes to assess improvement in symptoms. Baseline values of the participants will be determined at the time of registration. Outcomes will be evaluated after the 30th treatment session. The follow-up period will last for 6 months after treatment. Discussion This study will evaluate the effectiveness and safety of Tuina in the treatment of ASD. The results of this study could provide reliable evidence to improve the management of patients with ASD. Trial registration Chinese Clinical Trial Registry (CHICTR), ChiCTR2000040452 . The characteristics of reactive magnesia (MgO)-carbonated silt in respect to long-term stability have not been well understood in severely cold climate despite the usage of reactive MgO in enhancing the engineering performances. Under the binder content of 15% and initial water content of 25%, MgO-admixed silt specimens were carbonized for 3 h and 6 h and then subjected to different numbers of freezing-thawing (F-T) cycles. After different F-T cycles, the physico-mechanical properties of MgO- carbonated silt were analyzed in comparison with Portland cement (PC)-stabilized silt through physical and unconfined compression tests. Besides, a series of micro tests on MgO-carbonated specimens was performed including X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and mercury intrusion porosimetry (MIP) tests. The results demonstrate that both mass change ratio and moisture content of carbonated/stabilized silt decrease, and these values of MgO-carbonated silt are significantly lower while the density is higher compared to PC-stabilized silt. The strengths and moduli of MgO-carbonated silt are still two times higher than those of PC-stabilized specimens and the strength change ratio of keeps above 0.8 after F-T cycles. There is no visible transformation between nesquehonite and dypingite/hydromagnesite, although the XRD peaks of nesquehonite decrease and the bonding and filling effects weaken slightly. After 6 and 10 F-T cycles, the pore-size characteristics changed from a unimodal distribution to a three-peak and bimodal distribution, respectively. The total, macro and large pore volumes increase obviously while the medium and small pore volumes decrease except for intra-aggregate pore. The findings show better F-T durability of MgO-carbonated silt, which would be helpful for facilitating the application of MgO carbonation in the soil treatment.

In this study, the governing equation for one-dimensional large strain consolidation of soft soils under electro-osmosis–surcharge preloading is derived with some assumptions, and the general analytical solution is proposed for the first time by using the methods of algebraic transformation and separation variable. The expressions for the specific analytical solutions under several common cases in foundation treatment are developed. Besides, the correctness of the proposed analytical solutions is verified by comparing them with the existing analytical solutions and finite difference solution. Finally, based on the proposed analytical solutions, the effects of effective voltage Vm, the ratio of electro-osmosis (EO) conductivity to hydraulic conductivity ke/kv and volume compressibility coefficient mv1 on the consolidation behaviors are analyzed. It is found that the increase of Vm increases the absolute values of excess pore water pressure (EPWP) and hence the settlement increases. Furthermore, the increasing ratio of ke/kv leads to larger absolute values of EPWP generated in the soil, resulting in an increase of settlement. The consolidation degree Us defined by settlement based on small strain and large strain models decreases with the increase of mv1, and both the differences of Us and settlement between the two consolidation theories increase with the increase of mv1. In conclusion, the proposed analytical solution is simple in form and practical, which can be adopted to analyze the one-dimensional large strain consolidation behaviors under electro-osmosis–surcharge preloading.

In this study, theoretical analysis and numerical simulation methods were used to investigate the mechanical mechanism of the migration failure of the overlying strata and the development characteristics of the water-conducting fractured zone (WCFZ) in the mountainous carbonate areas in southwestern China. Due to the block-shaped rock mass structure characteristics of carbonate rocks, this paper considered the rock mass structure of the overlying strata. For the three-hinged arch structure of the block-shaped rock mass, the theory of damage mechanics was used to deduct the recursive calculation formula for the ultimate subsidence of the three-hinged arch structure of the overlying strata. Then, a method for determining the height of the WCFZ (HWCFZ) in the overlying strata under mining conditions was developed. Numerical simulations were carried out to study the stress field, plastic zone, and displacement field of the overlying strata and the dynamic evolution of the WCFZ during the mining process, and it was revealed that there was a positive feedback effect between them. After the mine was mined, due to the change of the stress field of the overlying strata, the overlying strata were mainly subjected to three types of plastic deformation during the fracturing process: tension, shearing, and tensile-shearing. There was a plastic partitioning phenomenon in the overlying strata. Among them, the tensile-slip failure zone was the most severely damaged. And the boundary of the WCFZ and the bending subsidence zone were determined based on the change characteristics of the displacement field. The HWCFZ obtained from the numerical simulations was consistent with the theoretical calculated value (93 vs. 92.5 m), validating the reliability and accuracy of the theoretical calculation method. Underground mining activities are active in the mountainous carbonate areas in southwestern China, and there are many landslide disasters due to overlying strata collapse, resulting in serious casualties. Therefore, prediction of HWCFZ and stability analysis of mountain need to be carried out for different mines in order to effectively carry out geological disaster prevention and mitigation research.

Organic-rich soil is a typical special soil often encountered in foundation treatment. Previous research has revealed that Portland cement (PC) not only pollutes the environment but is significantly affected by organic matter during its hydration and cementation. Although quicklime (CaO)-GGBS binder (CG) is an effective alternative to PC, its efficiency in treating organic-rich soils has not been studied. In this study, organic-rich soil was treated with two binders of CG and PC. The physical, mechanical, and chemical characteristics of the stabilized soils were tested at various organic contents, binder contents, and curing ages. The results show that the cracks in two treated soils increase with the increase in organic content and the reduction in binder content. CG-treated soils are more likely to shed big lumps after damage than PC-treated soils. The unconfined compressive strength (qu) and deformation modulus (E50) of stabilized soils increase with the increasing curing age and binder content but the decreasing organic content. The E50 of PC-treated soil is about 22~73 times qu, and the E50 of CG-treated soil shows an excellent linear relationship with qu. The moisture content of two treated soils increases as the organic content grows, but it falls as the curing age and binder content increase. The soil pH rises with the increasing organic content and binder content, but it declines with increased curing age. The strength development of organic-rich soils treated by the CG binder has an evident attenuation with the organic content. Given its possible environmental benefit, alkali (especially low calcium)-activated binder is appropriate for practical engineering with modest strength needs.

Every year, a large amount of tobacco waste liquid (TWL) is discharged into the environment, resulting in serious pollution for the environment. In this work, a TWL-based particle (OACT) was fabricated by CaO, attapulgite (ATP), and TWL, and, then, OACT was coated by amino silicon oil (ASO) to form OACT@ASO. Therein, OACT@ASO had high controlled-release ability for fulvic acid (FA), because of the nanonetworks structure for ATP and the high content of FA in TWL. The release ratio (RR) of FA from OACT@ASO reached 94% at 75 h in deionized water, and 23% at 32 d in silica sand. Furthermore, the release mechanism of FA from OACT@ASO was consistent with the First-order law. Additionally, OACT@ASO also possessed high immobilization capacity for Cu(II), Cd(II), and Pb(II) (CCP) in soil. Notably, a pot experiment indicated that OACT@ASO could facilitate the growth of pakchoi seedlings and decrease the absorption of CCP by pakchoi seedlings. Thus, this study provides a new kind of organic fertilizer which could not only release FA, but also immobilize CCP in soil.

The unconfined compressive strength (UCS) of sludge with different consistency limits solidified by cement was investigated. The results showed that under the condition of constant initial water content, a higher liquid index of soil resulted in higher UCS. A novel strength-evaluation model based on the ratio of the liquid index to the cement content was developed, and the prediction deviation of the model was within 30%. The influence mechanism of the consistency limit of sludge on the cement solidification was revealed by scanning electron microscopy, mercury intrusion porosimetry, X-ray diffractometer and thermogravimetric analysis. For the cement-solidified dredged sludge (CDS) with a lower liquid index, a large amount of hydrate was interlaced with each other and wrapped soil particles, promoting the formation of a dense structure. For the CDS with a higher liquid index, hydrates such as C-S-H and ettringite challenged each other to play the role of “cementing particles” and “filling pores”, resulting in the formation of the porous structure. The mineralogical analyses confirmed that more C-S-H gels and ettringites were generated in the CDS with a lower liquid index, but less calcite was formed due to its denser structure. In engineering applications, reducing the liquid index by adjusting the consistency limit can improve the strength performance of CDS.

In view of the common problems of difficult in characterizing pore structure, weak research on reservoir forming limit, and ambiguous meaning of grading evaluation boundary in Chang 7 tight oil reservoirs of the Jiyuan area, Ordos Basin. The pore structure types and reservoir forming limits of tight sandstone were determined by high-pressure mercury injection test and other methods, and the grading criteria were established to evaluate the reservoir quality. The results showed that the Chang 7 tight oil reservoirs have poor petrophysical properties and four types of pore structures, which correspond to different reservoir types respectively. There are three types of the reservoir forming limits in tight sandstone reservoirs, namely the theoretical lower limit, lower limit of oil accumulation, and effective seepage lower limit, with the corresponding porosity limits of 3.5%, 5.5%, and 8.0%, respectively, and the corresponding permeability limits of 0.02 × 10-3 µm2, 0.05 × 10-3 µm2, and 0.20 × 10-3 µm2, respectively. These reservoir forming limits were in good agreement with the classification boundaries of pore structure. Combining the pore structure types with the reservoir forming limits, the Chang 7 tight oil reservoirs can be divided into four classes: I, II, III, and IV, representing easily movable tight reservoir, movable tight reservoir, oil-bearing tight reservoir, and ineffective tight reservoir, respectively. Among them, the classes I and II reservoirs were the sweet spot areas for increasing the reserves and production of tight oil. The method of combining various reservoir forming limits and pore structure types can effectively evaluate reservoir quality, and provide theoretical basis for increasing geological reserves and rolling expansion of oil fields. Abstract Primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) is a chronic autoimmune liver disease characterized by multilineage immune dysregulation, which subsequently causes inflammation, fibrosis, and even cirrhosis of liver. Due to the limitation of traditional assays, the local hepatic immunopathogenesis of PBC has not been fully characterized. Here, we utilize single-cell RNA sequencing technology to depict the immune cell landscape and decipher the molecular mechanisms of PBC patients. We reveal that cholangiocytes and hepatic stellate cells are involved in liver inflammation and fibrosis. Moreover, Kupffer cells show increased levels of inflammatory factors and decreased scavenger function related genes, while T cells exhibit enhanced levels of inflammatory factors and reduced cytotoxicity related genes. Interestingly, we identify a liver-resident Th1-like population with JAK-STAT activation in the livers of both PBC patients and murine PBC model. Finally, blocking the JAK-STAT pathway alleviates the liver inflammation and eliminates the liver-resident Th1-like cells in the murine PBC model. In conclusion, our comprehensive single-cell transcriptome profiling expands the understanding of pathological mechanisms of PBC and provides potential targets for the treatment of PBC in patients.
