Technology is widely involved across the learning environment including its integration into teaching English as a foreign language (EFL); however, few studies have explored EFL teachers' perceptions of technological pedagogical content knowledge (TPACK). This study investigates how EFL teachers perceive and self-evaluate knowledge of content (CK), pedagogy (PK), and technology (TK), the interplay of these with each other (TPACK), and the underlying influential factors for TPACK construction. The data were gathered in China from an online survey (n = 64) comprising 35 items on the TPACK components, and self-evaluation by nine survey participants of their TPACK in follow-up interviews. WeChat, the most popular social media App in China, was utilised as the data collection tool. The survey reveals teachers' strong beliefs in the value of PK, CK and PCK and their positive beliefs about technological applications in EFL instruction. Consistent with these results, interviewees' self-evaluation of TPACK demonstrates that they felt a high level of confidence in CK, PK and PCK but relatively less confidence when technology was integrated despite commonly applying technology to instruction. Influential factors include: 1) contextual factors; 2) knowledge of students; 3) demographic background; and 4) availability of quality training. Decision-makers' financial support and policy-making, technological training in the integration of CK and/or PK, and a collaborative learning strategy are recommended.

This paper establishes a microchannel model based on the pore scale distribution characteristics of natural cores from Daqing Oilfield. It considers the deformation and flow characteristics of the dispersed and continuous phases in the heterogeneous system， builds a flow model by the phase field method， and solves it by the finite element method. The paper also simulates the generation of dispersed phase particles in the microchannel， realizes particle sorting， and studies the effect of the matching coefficient and pore-throat ratio on the plugging performance of particles in the microscopic pore-throat structure. The results show that when the particles are elastically plugged in the microscopic pore-throat structure， the pressure at the entrance of the pore throat changes periodically with the migration of the particles through the pore throat. The optimal matching coefficient between the particles and the pore throat is ［1.0， 1.4）. In this interval， the particles can be temporarily plugged at the entrance of the pore throat and recover their original shape after deformation and migration through the pore throat. When the pore diameter is the same， a larger matching coefficient and pore-throat ratio indicate greater pressure of particles through the pore throat， and larger particle size reflects a smaller critical value of particles through the pore throat.

Background and Purpose: Primary Ewing sarcoma of the thoracic wall (PEST) is a rare extraosseous Ewing sarcoma that occurs in the chest wall or thoracic cavity with a short survival, poor prognosis and a high rate of recurrence. Early diagnosis and treatment are the best way to prolong survival time since the cause of PEST is not clear. This study aimed to explore the clinicopathologic characteristics, diagnosis and treatment of PEST to improve clinical understanding of this disease. Methods: A total of 21 cases with PEST were treated at The First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University, and reviews were published from 2018 to 2023. Clinical data, pathological features, treatment and follow-up of the patients were analyzed respectively. The survival was from the start of treatment to the death of the patient or the end of the follow-up. Cumulative survival was estimated by Kaplan-Meier method. Results: A total of 21 cases with PEST (male/female ratio, 13:8; sites of left/right chest ratio, 6:15; median age, 20 years; mean age, 28 years; median diameter of the tumor, 8.0 cm; mean diameter of the tumor, 18.1 cm) met the inclusion criteria. 65.2% of the patients presented with the pain in the ipsilateral thoracic and abdominal area. In 47.1% of cases, the ipsilateral ribs were invaded with pleural effusion. Pathological morphology microscopy showed most tumor cells were tightly packed or lobular distribution of small blue round cells. In immunohistochemistry, CD99 and vimentin were positive in 100% and 80% cases respectively while neurogenic markers were expressed to varying degrees. EWSR1 separated signal was found by fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH), and the EWSR1-FLI1 fusion was detected by next-generation sequencing (NGS) in two cases at our hospital. Two cases received neoadjuvant chemotherapy, 10 patients received chemotherapy and radiotherapy after operation, 5 cases were treated with radiotherapy only, 1 case received surgery only, and 3 cases had no surgical data. A total of 14 cases were followed up for 3-38 month while 7 cases were lost to visit. Cumulative survival correlates with age at disease. The mean survival time was 19.98 months, and the median survival time was 13.00 months. Conclusion: Young males, right chest and the mass larger than 8 cm are more often found. Most cases can be initially diagnosed using histopathology and immunohistochemical markers. FISH or NGS of the EWSR1 gene test are a highly accurate method for diagnosis. The prognosis of PEST is extremely poor, and the cumulative survival rate is negatively correlated with the age of onset. Surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy are the main treatments for this disease.

In this study, the mechanical properties of non-crimp fabric (NCF) composite laminates under low-velocity impact and compression after impact (CAI) tests were studied by Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Digital image correlation (DIC) techniques. The impact response under different impact times, impact angles, and impact distance is studied. Similarly, in CAI test, DIC technique is used to reveal the whole process of NCF composite compression failure, and SEM is used to reveal the microscopic failure form. The experimental results show that the impact damage process of NCF composites has strong directivity. The concrete manifestation is that the internal failure will extend along the paving direction at the failure layer. The peak load generated under 20 J impact energy is about 1/2 of that under 40 J impact energy. The impact distance is one of the important factors affecting the coupling effect of multiple impacts, and the impact angle has little effect on the internal damage extension. The proportion of internal damage area also supports the relevant view, that is, the average difference in the proportion of internal damage area under different impact distance is about 5%, while the average difference in the proportion of internal damage area under different impact angles is about 3%. During the compression process, the main failure mode is shear failure and the failure mode is brittle fracture. The oblique fracture occurs only when the oblique is 45° and the impact distance is large (50 mm). The impact angle has little effect on the residual compression performance of NCF.

The water distribution in hydrogel systems prepared from six different starches at different concentrations was analyzed by low-field nuclear magnetic resonance (LF-NMR) spectroscopy. The results showed that legume (corn and wheat) and legume (pea and mung bean) starch gels exhibited three water forms, while tuber (sweet potato and potato) starch gels exhibited only two water forms. Immobilized water (T23) was the major water form in the six starch gels. With increasing starch concentration (5%–14%), the transverse relaxation time decreased, and the ability of starch gels to bind immobilized water increased. At the same starch concentration, the ability of pea starch gels to bind water was the strongest, while that of potato starch gels was the weakest, and that of cereal starch gels was in the middle. With increasing starch concentration, the relative content of immobilized water in starch gels decreased, and the differences among legume, tuber and cereal starch gels became more obvious. This study provides a theoretical reference for the improvement of sensory texture in starch-based food processing.
