Abstract

At present, tumor diagnosis is performed using common procedures, which are slow, costly, and still presenting difficulties in diagnosing tumors at their early stage. Tumor therapeutic methods also mainly rely on large-scale equipment or non-intelligent treatment approaches. Thus, an early and accurate tumor diagnosis and personalized treatment may represent the best treatment option for a successful result, and the efforts in finding them are still in progress and mainly focusing on non-destructive, integrated, and multiple technologies. These objectives can be achieved with the development of advanced devices and smart technology that represent the topic of the current investigations. Therefore, this review summarizes the progress in tumor diagnosis and therapy and briefly explains the advantages and disadvantages of the described microdevices, finally proposing advanced micro smart devices as the future development trend for tumor diagnosis and therapy. © 2021 Wiley-VCH GmbH

13. A mixed-dimensional WS2/GaSb heterojunction for high-performance p–n diodes and junction field-effect transistors.

Abstract

GaSb nanowires integrated on a silicon-based substrate are of great significance for p-type field-effect transistors. In particular, chips are becoming more and more miniaturized, and complicated dielectric engineering needs to be avoided. Therefore, the introduction of junction field-effect transistor (JFET) can be used to improve the performance of transistors. We demonstrated a heterostructure p-channel depletion type GaSb junction field-effect transistor by combining with n-WS2 sheets. Typical diode characteristics are observed in n-WS2/p-GaSb heterostructure diodes, with a high rectification ratio of ∼104. The JFET has excellent electrical features with an ON/OFF ratio of ∼104 and the sub-threshold swing (SS ≈ 723 mV dec−1). With the back gate control the ON/OFF current ratio is improved to ∼106 and the low SS is restrained to 166 mV dec−1. Moreover, due to the electrical properties of the heterojunction the JFET and p–n diodes maintain good stability at high temperatures. Therefore, the WS2/GaSb heterojunction enables the miniaturization of an integrated power electronic system and provides a promising route to low power electronics. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

Transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) are increasingly being used for chemical sensing, biosensing, and tumor therapy on account of their diversity, biocompatibility, multifunctionality, adjustable bandgap, and excellent photoelectric characteristics. This review mainly discusses the effect of the elemental composition and structure of TMDCs on the performance of electrochemical, biofluorescence, and colorimetric biosensors. The applications of TMDCs in tumor therapies are reviewed here. Furthermore, the current challenges and future directions for developing TMDC‐based theranostics are summarized. 24. Integrating large specific surface area and high conductivity in hydrogenated NiCo2O4double-shell hollow spheres to improve supercapacitors

Abstract

Increasing specific surface area and electrical conductivity are two crucial ways to improve the capacitive performance of electrode materials. Nanostructure usually enlarges the former but reduces the later; thus, it is still a great challenge to overcome such contradiction. Here, we report hydrogenated NiCo2O4double-shell hollow spheres, combining large specific surface area and high conductivity to improve the capacitive performance of supercapacitors. The specific surface area of NiCo2O4hollow spheres, fabricated via programmed coating of carbon spheres, was enlarged 50% (from 76.6 to 115.2 m2g−1) when their structure was transformed from single-shell to double-shell. Furthermore, activated carbon impedance measurements demonstrated that the low-temperature hydrogenation greatly decreased both the internal resistance and the Warburg impedance. Consequently, a specific capacitance increase of >62%, from 445 to 718 F g−1, was achieved at a current density of 1 A g−1. Underlying such great improvement, the evolution of chemical valence and defect states with co-increase of these two factors was explored through X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Moreover, a full cell combined with NiCo2O4and AC was assembled, and an energy density of 34.8 Wh kg−1was obtained at a power density of 464 W kg−1.
