Background Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) on the oscillometric method is applicable in patients with atrial fibrillation, but the mean pulse rate is or not similar to the ventricular rate from the Holter in atrial fibrillation patients remains unknown. Methods This study included 228 persistent atrial fibrillation patients who received simultaneous 24-h ABPM and 24-h Holter. The mean 24-h pulse rate and the mean 24-h ventricular rate were calculated, and mVR-mPR was used to reflect the difference between them. The SD of 24-h pulse rate values was calculated as SD-pulse rate. Furthermore, according to the SD-pulse rate, the patients were divided into ≤5, 6-10, 11-15 and >15 bpm subgroups. Results For the total population, the mean 24-h pulse rate is positively correlated with the mean 24-h ventricular rate, and the Bland-Altman plot showed quite wide 95% limits. As the SD-pulse rate increased, the 24-h mVR-mPR also increased. The mean 24-h mVR-mPR was 0.5 bpm when SD-pulse rate ≤5, 3.5 bpm when SD-pulse rate of 6-10, 7.6 bpm when SD-pulse rate of 11-15, and 12.5 bpm when SD-pulse rate >15 bpm, respectively. Meanwhile, in the SD-pulse rate 0-10 subgroup, the 95% limits were only from -13.8 to 19.7 bpm, while in the >10 subgroup, these values were from -19.5 to 36.5 bpm. Conclusion The mean 24-h pulse rate should not be used to represent the true ventricular rate for all atrial fibrillation patients. However, when lower the SD-pulse rate, the mVR-mPR becomes smaller.

Herein, we have proposed a colorimetric biosensor for detection of acid phosphatase based on human serum albumin (HSA) templated MnO2 nanosheets (HSA-MnO2 NSs). HSA-MnO2 NSs as an efficient biomimetic oxidase could catalyze the oxidization of 3,3',5,5'-tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) to the coloured oxidation product (oxTMB). Acid phosphatase (ACP) could hydrolyze l-ascorbic acid-2-phosphate (AAP) to produce ascorbic acid, and ascorbic acid could lead to the decomposition of MnO2 NSs to Mn2+ ions, inhibiting the production of oxTMB. On the basis of this, we have demonstrated a novel colorimetric approach for the detection of acid phosphatase with the linear range from 50 μU mL-1 to 1500 μU mL-1 and a detection limit of 40 μU mL-1. The MnO2 NS-based colorimetric method has been successfully used to determine the content of acid phosphatase in real samples with satisfactory results.

Natural killer (NK) cells, a subgroup of innate lymphoid cells, act as the first line of defense against cancer. Although some evidence shows that NK cells can develop in secondary lymphoid tissues, NK cells develop mainly in the bone marrow (BM) and egress into the blood circulation when they mature. They then migrate to and settle down in peripheral tissues, though some special subsets home back into the BM or secondary lymphoid organs. Owing to its success in allogeneic adoptive transfer for cancer treatment and its “off-the-shelf” potential, NK cell-based immunotherapy is attracting increasing attention in the treatment of various cancers. However, insufficient infiltration of adoptively transferred NK cells limits clinical utility, especially for solid tumors. Expansion of NK cells or engineered chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) NK cells ex vivo prior to adoptive transfer by using various cytokines alters the profiles of chemokine receptors, which affects the infiltration of transferred NK cells into tumor tissue. Several factors control NK cell trafficking and homing, including cell-intrinsic factors (e.g., transcriptional factors), cell-extrinsic factors (e.g., integrins, selectins, chemokines and their corresponding receptors, signals induced by cytokines, sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P), etc.), and the cellular microenvironment. Here, we summarize the profiles and mechanisms of NK cell homing and trafficking at steady state and during tumor development, aiming to improve NK cell-based cancer immunotherapy.

To investigate the method and clinical effect of modified Chevron osteotomy of the distal end of the first metatarsal in the treatment of moderate and severe hallux valgus.From January 2015 to January 2019, 28 patients(30 feet) with moderate and severe hallux valgus were treated with modified Chevron osteotomy combined with lateral soft tissue release of the first metatarsophalangeal joint, including 2 males (2 feet) and 26 females (28 feet). The age ranged from 35 to 74 (57.3±9.3) years;10 feet on the left, 16 feet on the right, 2 cases on both sides(4 feet);the course of disease was 3 to 12 (9.32±3.89) years. The changes of hallux valgus angle(HVA), intermetatarsal angle(IMA) between the first and second metatarsals and distal metatarsal articular angle(DMAA) of the first metatarsal were measured and compared before and 6 months after operation. The American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society(AOFAS) thumb joint scoring system was used to evaluate the curative effect.All 28 patients were followed up for 8 to 16 (11.28±3.42) months. The incision healed well in all patients, and there were no complications such as incision infection and metatarsal head necrosis. The healing time of osteotomy site was 6 to 10(7.12±1.34) weeks. Preoperative HVA, IMA, DMAA and AOFAS were (36.06±6.02) °, (21.78±4.16) °, (8.21±2.65) ° and (52.90±10.97) respectively, at six months after operation, they were (8.87±2.46) °, (11.66±2.84) °, (3.65±1.00) ° and (87.45±10.55) respectively, there was significant difference between preoperative and 6 months after operation(Modified Chevron can effectively correct HVA, IMA and DMAA and improve functional recovery. The modified Chevron osteotomy increases the moving distance and the contact of the osteotomy surface. It can be fixed with multiple screws, has strong correction ability, and can exercise early. It is one of the optional methods for the treatment of moderate and severe hallux valgus.

In this paper, the two-step activation Eucommia wood tar-based activated carbon (ETAC), cellulose nanofibers (CNF) and reduced graphene oxide (rGO) were assembled to form composite aerogel in mild condition. Impressively, the doping of optimizing ETAC greatly improved the overall specific surface area (SSA) of the aerogel, and the CNF extracted from Eucommia ulmoides wood was used to enhance the mechanical properties of graphene aerogel. Besides, the composite aerogels with high content of ETAC (67% of mass ratio) possessed efficient MnOx deposition capability (1540 mg/g), which could assemble an asymmetric free-binder supercapacitor, exhibiting an ultrahigh specific capacitance and prominent cycling stability. This work offered a feasible method to fabricate free-binder composite aerogels with excellent electrochemical property for broad applications in supercapacitors.

The terrain conditions and geological structure of the mountainous areas in western China are complex. To meet the design requirements for the expressway, the route adopts the design of deep-buried super-long tunnels in hilly areas. If the highway tunnel passes through faulty structures, such as improper selection of structure and foundation form, it can cause collapse and structural instability during construction. Therefore, basic characteristics of faults and information that is more accurate should be provided during the survey process to avoid subsequent problems. The frequency and magnitude of earthquakes in this study area are high and available data show that the Xiaojiang fault was still active during the Quaternary Holocene period, which is a high-risk area for earthquakes. Therefore, a set of comprehensive technologies, such as geophysical prospecting, geological survey, and drilling, and was used to identify faults and their characteristics and to visually display underground information within a certain depth range. Here, the magnetotelluric method was used to analyze the electrical characteristics and structure of the highway tunnel. In addition, the electrical characteristics and structure of the Xiaojiang fault were discussed. Geological surveys and drilling agree well with the analysis and interpretation of the research results and further proposed a processing and interpretation method for correcting the dip angle of the fault using the statistical results from the long axis dip angle of the tensor polarization map for the wave impedance. Thus, a large amount of information in the tunnel site can be effectively obtained for predicting and evaluating the Xiaojiang fault. Furthermore, our results provide strong technical support for designing and operating highway tunnels, with meaningful experience and reference for future geophysical processing and interpretation.

The stratum lithology and geological structure of the highway tunnel in the mountainous areas of western China are complex, and the engineering geological conditions are complicated. When the highway tunnel passes through different lithological strata, its structural design and construction are completely different. Therefore, the design and construction of the supporting tunnel are used in the tunnel survey. The identification of the contact boundary between magmatic rock and metamorphic rock and the grade of surrounding rock is very important. The data processing, forward numerical simulation, 1D, 2D, and 3D inversion of the G8513 Jiuzhaigou-Mianyang Expressway Mupi Tunnel survey by magnetotelluric method reveals the ground level along the design line of the tunnel to the depth of 50m depths within the design elevation of the tunnel. Electrical characteristics, focusing on the identification of the contact boundary between magmatic rock and metamorphic rock. This study provides the electrical characteristics of the magmatic rock and metamorphic rock contact boundary of the Mupi Tunnel. It is speculated that the boundary is revealed by the tunnel construction excavation, which verifies the correctness of the geophysical inversion model and provides a more detailed design basis for the tunnel design. It is believed that taking the Mupi tunnel survey as an example, this research can provide detailed geophysical basis for the identification of magmatic rock and metamorphic rock in highway tunnels, as well as the geological survey and design of highway tunnels.

The narrow-QRS tachycardias are the most common form of cardiac arrhythmias observed in clinical practice. Most of narrow-QRS tachycardias are with supraventricular origins, i.e., supraventricular tachycardia (SVT). In this chapter, we have focused on differential diagnosis of narrowly defined SVTs, including atrial tachycardia, atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardia (AVNRT), and atrioventricular reentrant tachycardia (AVRT), using non-invasive methods at the bedside. Atrial fibrillation and atrial flutter, which belong to broadly defined SVTs, are not specifically discussed. In this chapter, we have also shown usefulness of intracardiac recordings from implantable devices like pacemaker and implantable cardioverter defibrillator in diagnosis of SVT. Finally, we have briefly induced the transesophageal recording and atrial pacing, a versatile non-invasive method that is popularly used for diagnosis and treatment for SVT at the bedside in hospital and clinical settings in some countries.

Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) has a unique and complex etiology, which is not completely understood. The aim of this study is to investigate the expression patterns of phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K), protein kinase B (PKB), and mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) proteins in patients with NPC and their relationship with NPC progression and prognosis. Between January 2008 and March 2010, PI3K, PKB, and mTOR protein expressions were detected using immunohistochemistry among 119 patients with NPC and 30 healthy people. A 5-year follow-up was conducted for all patients. Correlations of PI3K, PKB, and mTOR proteins with the clinicopathological features and prognosis of NPC were evaluated using Spearman's rank correlation coefficient and Kaplan-Meier curve. Cox's regression analysis was performed to analyze the risk factors for the prognosis of NPC. First, PI3K, PKB, and mTOR were highly expressed in patients with NPC. The expressions of PI3K, PKB, and mTOR proteins were associated with T stage, N stage, clinical stage, relapse, and distant metastasis. Meanwhile, PI3K is positively correlated with PKB and PKB is positively correlated with mTOR in NPC. Higher PI3K, PKB, and mTOR protein expressions were related to a shorter survival time and a lower survival rate in NPC. Cox regression analysis revealed that age, T stage, N stage, PI3K, PKB, and mTOR were independent risk factors for NPC patient survival. Altogether, our data suggest that overexpression of PI3K, PKB, and mTOR proteins is an important indicator of poor survival in NPC. In addition, inhibition of PI3K-PKB-mTOR signaling may also contribute to the development of new therapeutic strategies for NPC.

Hollow strontium ferrite (SrFe12O19: SrM) nanofibers have been successfully synthesized by coaxial electrospinning with the advantages of low material density and high microwave absorption performance. SrM precursors were used for coaxial electrospinning and annealing at different temperatures (600 °C, 650 °C, 700 °C, and 750 °C). A variety of characterization methods—XRD, TG, SEM, TEM, EDS, VSM and VNA—are used to analyze their particle size, morphology, magnetic response and absorption performance. The outer and inner diameters of hollow nanofibers annealed at 750 °C are 28 and 16 nm, respectively. The hollow structure is clearly visible, and as per calculation results, the material density is nearly 48.5% lower than that of solid fibers with the same diameter. The magnetism properties improve with increasing nanoparticle sizes for the single-domain particles. The saturation magnetization and the coercivity of the hollow nanofibers at 750 °C are 57.8 A m2 kg−1 and 333.9 kA m−1, respectively. When the thickness of the absorber coating was 3.4 mm, the electromagnetic radiation reflection loss reached −12.69 dB at 11.68 GHz. The calculated reflection loss of the hollow sample is better than that of solid fibers; the maximum ratio of structure reduction is 14.5%. Further, the mechanism of SrM formation and the mechanism of the improvement of the microwave absorption properties are discussed.

Inspection techniques for aero-engine blades are a hot topic in industry. Since these blades have a sculptured surface and a small datum, measurement results may deviate from an actual position. There are few proper approaches compensating for non-uniform distribution errors that are within specified tolerance ranges. This study aimed to develop a meshing structure measuring approach for the distortion of blades via non-contact optical 3D scanning. A rough measurement and a registration procedure are initially adopted to rectify the coordinate system of a blade, which avoids the initial coordinate system errors caused by the small datum. A measurement path with meshing structure is then unfolded on the blade surface. For non-uniform distribution errors, the meshing structure measurement is more visual and clear than the traditional constant height curves method. All measuring points take only 7 min to complete, and the distribution of error is directly and accurately presented by the meshing structure. This study provides a basis for future research on distortion control and error compensation.

Blades are affected by clamping, cutting forces, and residual stress, thus resulting in warping and distortion because of the thin wall and free surfaces. In this paper, a new process for the control of machining distortion is proposed to eliminate surface errors by using an adaptive dual-arm fixture. First, some causes of distortion by different machining methods are discussed. Second, an adaptive mechanism with eight degrees of freedom is designed to allow the blade to be clamped under an unstressed state and to enable the release of stress at any time. Thereafter, a dual-sphere fixture is designed on the basis of the adaptive mechanism. Finally, by adopting this process based on the adaptive dual-arm fixture, machining distortion is reduced after releasing stress several times. Experimental results show that the process can eliminate 50 % of surface errors in machining. Therefore, a test blade machined by the proposed process will exhibit improved precision.

To investigate the prognostic value of morphology and Hans classification in diffuse large B cell lymphoma（DLBCL）.Clinical data of 249 patients diagnosed with DLBCL in our hospital and Hangzhou Xixi hospital during Jan 2006 to Dec 2016 were analyzed retrospectively. These patients were classified into 3 groups: immunoblastic variant（IB） group, centroblastic variant（CB） group and others group according to the cell morphology. And DLBCL was also divided into GCB（germinal center B-cell-like）or non-GCB（non-germinal center B-cell-like） group by analyzing the expression of CD10, BCL6 and MUM1 (GCB: CD10The univariate analysis displayed that the age，LDH level，IPI，IB，non-GCB，B-symptoms and rituximab all could influence the OS and EFS, the CR rate of CB subtype patients was significantly higher than that of the patients with IB subtype （68.3% vs 38.9%)(P=0.02）. IB subtype was the in dependent prognostic factor for both EFS and OS in the whole study. In multivariate analysis, IPI and IB were the independent prognostic factors for OS and EFS. IB subtype was also an independent prognostic factor in EFS and OS with or without rituximab. The expression of BCL2 and BCL6 was related with prognosis in R-CHOP, but not in CHOP treated patients. Other markers (CD5, CD10, IRF4/MUM1, HLA-DR and Ki-67 proliferation index) were not of the significant prognostic value for DLBCL. When accepted rituximab, the GCB and non-GCB were not different significantly for prognosis. However, the non-GCB group showed a poor prognosis without using rituximab （EFS P=0.020；OS P=0.020）. Multivariate Cox models showed that OS and EFS were not significantly different between GCB and non-GCB group, however, the IB subtype had a very significantly poor prognosis in OS and EFS (P=0.001, P=0.002). When the analysis was restricted to DLBCL with CB morphology only, no prognostic value was observed in Hans classification.The subtype of immunoblast is a major risk factor in patients treated with CHOP or R-CHOP. There is a significant association between the Hans classification and the morphologic subclassification. Results of this study have supplemented the data for the prognostic factor of DLBCL and demonstrated that the cytomorphologic diagnosis can be reproducible.

Docetaxel is a novel type of chemotherapy drug that actively treats a number of malignant tumors. The aim of the present study was to explore the severity and natural course of tissue damage induced by docetaxel extravasation and to confirm the vesicant potential of docetaxel. Rats were selected for the establishment of the ulcer model. Different volumes and concentrations were explored to induce the skin ulcer and to confirm the optimum rational injection model. The natural course of tissue injury and pathological changes produced by docetaxel extravasation were observed by comparing to vinorelbine extravasation. A 0.4 ml volume and a 6 mg/ml concentration were the optimum rational injection model for the induction of the skin ulcer. The docetaxel extravasation induced local tissue necrosis, followed by granuloma formation and hyperpigmentation or scar formation. The severity of the injury depended on the concentration of the extravasation used in the rat model. The injury occurred on the first day following extravasation and lasted 4-6 weeks. The damage from docetaxel was weaker than vinorelbine in association with the depth and extension of necrosis. In conclusion, docetaxel extravasation can induce tissue necrosis. However, the severity of necrosis was weaker than that of vinorelbine. Docetaxel has superficial vesicant properties.

Traditional uncontrolled or phase controlled cascade multilevel inverter only can realize one-direction transmission of energy. This paper presents a complex energy feedback cascade inverter topology with full-controlled, phase controlled Power units and its control strategy. For the full-controlled units, use PWM converter to replace the traditional rectifier bridge, and then combine with H-bridge inverter, the two-direction inverter is realized. The others remain phase controlled structure. According to the pump-up voltage in the energy feedback process ,a new method using the output side DC voltage closed loop control is proposed to prevent DC voltage shock and make all energy feedback to grid .Then it was verified in a cascade inverter with five units in which only three units are full-controlled. This inverter has the merits that it can automatic realize two-way flow of energy, the input currents approximate sine, the DC voltages control stability, the output voltage waveform is good and the phase shifting transformer structure is also simplified, etc. Simulation showed its feasibility and effectiveness.

With the continuous improvement of the complexity of the microelectronic system, its reliability risk is becoming more and more obvious. In order to improve the reliability of electronic systems in complex electromagnetic environment, this paper proposes a new fault self-repairing method; the idea is to realize controllable silicon evolution on the FPGA. A MicroBlaze CPU and VRC array are designed, and the CPU runs the evolutionary algorithm to configure the VRC array, dynamically changing the structure and function of the circuit, so as to obtain high reliability of the digital fault self-repairing circuit. Evolving fault self-repairing technology provides a new way for the high reliability of the digital system design.

A new phthalocyanine material, 2,9,16,23-tetrakis [4-(hexafluoroisopropanol)-anilinomethyl]phthalocyaninato zinc (ZnPcF 24 N 4 O 4 ) was designed and synthesized. The chemoselective material was coated on a 300 MHz surface acoustic wave (SAW) device using cyclic voltammetry for the detection of sarin (GB) vapor. It was found that the observed frequency shifts were linear to the concentrations of sarin in the range of 0.6–43.4 mg/m 3 with a high sensitivity of 205.8 Hz/mg/m 3 . The influences of other interfering vapors on the sensor response were also examined. The results showed that the phthalocyanine-based SAW sensor exhibited a fairly fast response, excellent reversibility, linearly sensitivity, and a high selectivity to vapor of the organophosphorus nerve agent GB.

Immunophenotype is critical for diagnosing common B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (common ALL) and detecting minimal residual disease. We developed a protocol to explore the immunophenotypic profiles of common ALL based on the expression levels of the antigens associated with B lymphoid development, including IL-7Rα (CD127), cytoplasmic CD79a (cCD79a), CD19, VpreB (CD179a), and sIgm, which are successive and essential for progression of B cells along their developmental pathway. Analysis of the immunophenotypes of 48 common ALL cases showed that the immunophenotypic patterns were highly heterogeneous, with the leukemic cell population differing from case to case. Through the comprehensive analysis of immunophenotypic patterns, the profiles of patient-specific composite leukemia cell populations could provide detailed information helpful for the diagnosis, therapeutic monitoring, and individualized therapies for common ALL.

Aging societies are a global social trend that simultaneously promotes the development of biotechnology and health food industries. Thus, middle-aged and older people’s health food purchase behavior has been widely analyzed. For this study, we sampled Chiayi County, Taiwan, to investigate the image of health food brands, experience recognition and purchase behavior. Sampling 392 middle-aged and older people, we use the structural equation model to test model hypotheses and analyze the model. We also compared and verified related literature and theoretical inferences. The results indicated that the brand image was the most important factor influencing the purchase behavior. Brand image significantly and positively influences experience recognition and purchase behavior.

The present study was conducted to evaluate the effect of cod skin peptide (CSPE) on chemotherapy-induced toxicity in gastric cancer patients.A cohort of 60 gastric cancer patients for chemotherapy was randomly divided into two groups (n=30 per group), who were orally treated with either supplemental CSPE or placebo apart from chemotherapy. The hematologic and gastrointestinal toxicities experienced by the patients, as well as their Karnofsky Performance Status (KPS) as an index of quality of life was evaluated.Leukocyte counts and haemoglobin levels were significantly reduced in the group treated with peptide (p0.05), while gastrointestinal toxicity was not affected (p0.05). KPS consists of 11 categories of quality of life, and the score denoted in deciles ranges from 100 (asymptomatic, normal function) to 0 (death). The KPS score is used to evaluate a cancer patient's ability to function at work and home, the severity of symptoms, and the patient's need for personal and medical care. Treatment with CSPE significantly improved the quality of life of patients, as indicated by increased KPS scores (p0.05).CSPE can potentially be considered as a food supplement that can be used to improve the quality of life of cancer patients.背景和目的：探讨鱼皮寡肽（CSPE）在降低胃癌患者化疗副反应的作用研 究。方法与研究设计：随机将60 例胃癌化疗患者分为两组（n=30/组），两组 患者除化疗外，分别口服CSPE 或安慰剂，比较两组患者血液学、胃肠道毒性 和生活质量Karnofsky（KPS）评分。结果：安慰剂组白细胞计数和血红蛋白 水平显著低于肽治疗组（p0.05），两组胃肠道毒性无差异（p0.05），KPS 评分主要用于癌症患者工作、家庭生活状况、症状严重程度以及患者对医疗的 需求等11 个类别的生活质量，得分范围从100（无症状，功能正常）到0（死 亡）。CSPE 组KPS 评分显著高于安慰剂组（p0.05），CSPE 明显提高了患 者的生活质量。结论：CSPE 可作为食品补充剂改善癌症患者的生活质量。.

Flame photometric analysis technology has been proven to be a rapid and sensitive method for sulfur and phosphorus detection. It has been widely used in environmental inspections, pesticide detection, industrial and agricultural production. By improving the design of the traditional flame photometric detector, using grating and CCD sensor array as a photoelectric conversion device, the types of compounds that can be detected were expanded. Instead of a single point of characteristic spectral lines, full spectral information has been used for qualitative and quantitative analysis of H2S, PH3, NH3, AsH3 and Cl2. Combined with chemometric method, flame photometric analysis technology is expected to become an alternative fast, real-time on-site detection technology to simultaneously detect multiple toxic and harmful gases.

Hypertrophy of non-clamped liver lobes and the atrophy of clamped lobes have been shown to be interactive. Here, a rat model of selective lobe occlusion was established to study the effect of contralateral ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) on regeneration of non-clamped lobes.Left lateral and middle liver lobes were pretreated with I/R. In the experimental (IR + PVL) group, portal veins of the left and middle lobes were ligated. A group given similar portal vein ligation but no I/R (PVL) was the positive control.Compared with the PVL group, the IR + PVL had higher, but not remarkable, levels of serum transaminases; weights of non-clamped lobes in the IR + PVL group comparatively increased much more notably. At 24-h post-surgery, the IR + PVL group's PCNA mRNA was up-regulated compared with the PVL group. At 72-h post-surgery, PCNA protein was up-regulated significantly, while TGF-β1 was down-regulated in the IR + PVL group notably, compared with the PVL group.The I/R pretreatment given to the clamped lobes facilitates liver regeneration of non-clamped lobes after selective portal vein ligation, which may result from down-regulated TGF-β1 expression in non-clamped lobes.

Cyclin-dependent kinase 10 (Cdk10) is a Cdc2-related kinase and plays an essential role in the progression from the G2 to M phase of the cell cycle. However, relative little is known about its expression pattern, clinical relevance, and biological function in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). In the present study, we investigated the mRNA and protein expression levels of Cdk10 in 127 pairs of HCC samples and adjacent nontumorous liver tissues and evaluated its clinical significance. Additionally, we assessed the effects of restoration of Cdk10 on cell proliferation and drug sensitivity in HCC cells. We showed that the Cdk10 mRNA and protein expression was markedly decreased in HCC samples compared to adjacent nontumorous liver tissues. Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction and immunohistochemical studies revealed that reduced Cdk10 expression was significantly associated with alpha-fetoprotein levels, tumor size, and tumor stage. Ectopic expression of Cdk10 reduced HCC cell proliferation, blocked the cell cycle at the G0-G1 phase, as well as inhibited cell migration and anchorage-independent growth. Additionally, Cdk10 overexpression enhanced the chemosensitivity of HCC cells to cisplatin and epidoxorubicin, two chemotherapeutic agents commonly used in HCC. These data collectively demonstrate that reduced Cdk10 expression is closely linked to HCC development and progression. Restoration of its expression may have therapeutic benefits in treating this malignancy.

Cyclin-dependent kinase 10 (CDK10) is a member of the Cdc2 family of kinases, and has been demonstrated to be an important determinant of resistance to endocrine therapy for breast cancer. To investigate the expression and possible function of CDK10 in biliary tract cancer (BTC), we systematically examined CDK10 in tissues and cell lines. We found that expression of CDK10 was downregulated in both biliary tract tumors and cell lines. Remarkably, the expression of CDK10 correlated with clinical characteristics. Overexpression or knockdown of CDK10, respectively, inhibited or promoted cell proliferation, colony formation and migration. This suggests that CDK10 functions as a tumor suppressor gene in BTC. Overexpression of CDK10 caused malignant cells to become sensitive to chemotherapy and other hostile environments, suggesting that CDK10 functions to regulate survivability of BTC cells. We investigated the expression of six genes to resolve the mechanism. c-RAF was negatively regulated by CDK10 in both cells and specimens. Our results indicate that CDK10 plays a crucial role in the growth and survivability of biliary tract cancer, and offers a potential therapeutic target for this fatal disease.

In the current paper, we report the use of thin films of nematic liquid crystal (LC) 4-cyano-4′-biphenylcarbonitrile (5CB) supported on chemically functionalized surfaces as an optical sensor for detecting dimethyl methylphosphonate (DMMP) vapor. The surfaces were prepared by the deposition of copper perchlorate salts onto amino-terminated organic films with approximately 2 μm microgrooves assembled through the microcontact printing method. By exploring the LC orientation and the detection limit for DMMP vapor, we conclude that the copper perchlorate assembly time should be kept within 15–30 min. In the detection process, 5CB underwent transition from a homeotropic orientation to a tilted or planar one upon exposure to DMMP vapor because of the capture of the DMMP molecule by Cu2+. The optical signal generated by the LC orientation transition was easily identified using polarized light microscopy. The sensor exhibited high selectivity and its detection limit could reach to 0.51 mg/m3, demonstrating the feasibility of using these devices in the detection and positive identification of DMMP. Furthermore, the LC-based sensor reported in the current study did not require complex instrumentations, and the detection method was sufficiently simple.

稀土锆酸盐材料具有比Y 2 O 3 部分稳定ZrO 2 陶瓷低的热导率, 是新型热障涂层的潜在候选材料之一. 利用大气等离子体喷涂技术以喷雾造粒的Sm 2 Zr 2 O 7 粉体制备涂层, 并在相同条件下沉积8wt%Y 2 O 3 稳定ZrO 2 涂层. 对比评价了两种涂层的结构、热物理性能和力学性能. X射线衍射结果表明, 制备态Sm 2 Zr 2 O 7 涂层为缺陷萤石结构. 扫描电镜分析显示, Sm 2 Zr 2 O 7 和8wt%Y 2 O 3 稳定ZrO 2 涂层为典型的层状结构, 内部有很多气孔、裂纹等缺陷. 800℃测得的 Sm 2 Zr 2 O 7 涂层的热导率为0.44 W/(mK), 比相同条件下测得的8wt%Y 2 O 3 稳定ZrO 2 涂层的热导率低~40%, 两者的热膨胀系数相似. 力学测试结果显示, Sm 2 Zr 2 O 7 涂层的抗折强度、硬度和弹性模量均低于8wt%Y 2 O 3 稳定ZrO 2 涂层.

The microstructure of as-cast state and as-aged of a Cu-0.43Cr-0.22Zr-0.092Mg alloy were analysized by TEM and HRTEM, and the formation mechanics of nanophase during heat treatment were discussed. The research showed that precipitations came from the microstructure of casting alloy which adjacent streak spacing were 1.2nm after aging, which obeyed the Nishyama-Wasserman orientation relationship with the matrix.

In this paper, we report a simple and novel liquid-crystal based sensor for ricin detection. The method relies on the use of liquid crystals (LCs) 5CB to amplify and report the presence of ricin captured by an affinity ligand. A merit of this approach is that the ricin can be imaged on the chemically functionalized surfaces and transduced into optical signal by using LCs, the optical signal caused by the orientational transition of the LCs could be easily identified with polarized light microscopy. In addition, the sensor exhibited high sensitivity with strong selectivity, experimental results showed that the minimum detection concentration was as low as 10 μg/mL, demonstrating the feasibility of using these devices to detect and positively identify ricin. Furthermore, the success of LC-based sensor reported here does not use complex instrumentations and does not involve any labeling steps.

Plasticized starch/clay composite films were prepared by casting aqueous solutions containing oxidized corn starch, different concentrations of glycerol as a plasticizer and 5% clay (sodium montmorillonite, Na + -MMT) on the basis of dry starch. The waterbinding properties of the composite films were evaluated by water vapor sorption isotherms at room temperature and various relative humidities (RHs). Mechanical properties and abrasion resistance were also analyzed for the films with varying glycerol contents at 68% RH and room temperature. Changes in water sorption isotherms suggested that glycerol interacted with both water and starch in a complicated way. A saturation phenomenon of glycerol, depending on RH, was observed based on the isotherms. Above this saturation content, phase separation of the system occurred with the appearance of free glycerol. According to mechanical performance and abrasion resistance, as well as water vapor sorption of the starch blend films, the three-stage transition was presented to be related to the state of glycerol in the blend system, i.e. adsorption of glycerol onto H-bonding sites of starch, supersaturation of glycerol as plasticizer and further supersaturation of glycerol. Only above the supersaturation content can glycerol play a plasticizer role in starch-based composites.

In the title compound, C18H12N4O2, which has a delocalizedD—π—Aelectronic structure, the dihedral angles between the central benzene ring and the planes of the pendant imidazole and nitrobenzene rings are 37.65 (9) and 4.96 (7)°, respectively. In the centrosymmetric crystal structure, molecules are linked by weak C—H...O interactions, generating [001]C(6) chains.

E2F transcription factors regulate a wide range of biological processes, including cell cycle, apoptosis and DNA damage response. In the present study, we examined whether E2F2 is related to the poor prognosis of NSCLC and its role in progress of NSCLC. Firstly, we analyzed 86 NSCLC samples by immunohistochemistry and found that E2F2 expression was markedly increased in 62.8% (54/86) of all samples compared with the normal tissues. Further study showed that E2F2 expression was closely associated with clinical stage (P = 0.039) and tumor size (P = 0.045). Furthermore, Kaplan-Meier analysis indicated that high Bad expression was significantly correlated to overall survival (P = 0.045) but not disease-free survival (P = 0.288). In addition, our results showed that knockdown E2F2 expression could reduce cell viability and colony formation in NSCLC cells. The results in our study for the first time revealed that E2F2 act as an activator in tumor progress of NSCLC and could become a promising marker for the prognosis of patients with NSCLC.

A novel naphthalimide derivatives N-hexyl-4-benzylamino-naphthalimide(HBN) was synthesized from 4-bromo-1, 8-naphthalic anhydride, and the structure was characterized by NMR and MS. Spectral properties of HBN for recognition of Fe3+ were investigated by fluorescence spectrum. In a certain range of Fe3+ from 4 x 10(-7) to 1 x 10(-2) mol x L(-1), the fluorescence intensity of HBN significantly reduced with increasing concentration of Fe3+ in ethanol/water (1:1, volume ratio). The equation of linear regression was F0/F=623.253 2c(Fe3+) + 0.9642 (R2 = 0.9963). Moreover, no obvious interference with the detection of the Fe3+ ion was observed in the presence of the common metal ions such as Ca2+, Na+, CU2+, Zn2+, Pb2+, Co2+, Ni2+, Mn2+ and Fe2+, which indicated that HBN displayed excellent selectivity and high sensitivity for the detection of Fe3+.

Adenosquamous carcinoma rarely occurs in the pancreas, and is characterized by the presence of cellular components from both duct adenocarcinoma and squamous carcinoma. Here, we describe a rare case of pancreatic adenosquamous carcinoma with sarcomatous change. Immunohistochemistry showed that the sarcomatous lesion lost the epithelial marker and aberrantly expressed of acquired mesenchymal markers, which indicated that this special histological phenotype may be attributed to epithelial-mesenchymal transition. This case also indicated that a routine radical surgery without aggressive treatment strategies was still appropriate for adenosquamous carcinoma of the pancreas with sarcomatoid change.
