It is an important but difficult issue to identify charge and energy transfer processes in materials where multiple band gaps coexist. Conventional methods using transient absorption and optoelectrical characterization based on devices could not provide a clear picture of transfer dynamics. According to the bimolecular and monomolecular nature of each process, the carrier dynamics is supposed to solve this issue. In this work, we established a novel, convenient and universal strategy based on the calculation of carrier dynamics to distinguish energy/charge transfer and reveal their transfer dynamics in methylammonium lead bromide (MAPbBr3) films with mixing wide-band gap small grains and narrow-band gap large grains. A highly efficient charge transfer process is confirmed with a high negative nonradiative bimolecular recombination coefficient of -2.12 x 10(-7)cm(-3) s(-1), indicating that free carriers within small grains are efficiently transferred from small grains to large grains. As a result, emission from large grains becomes dominant when increasing the photoexcitation intensity. In addition, current-density-dependent electroluminescence results in emission only from large grains, further verifying the charge transfer process. Moreover, it is interesting to find that when decreasing the size of small grains, the charge transfer process is facilitated, leading to an increased nonradiative bimolecular recombination coefficient from -2.12 x 10(-7) to -4.01 x 10(-7) cm(-3) s(-1) in large grains. Our work provides a convenient strategy to identify and quantify energy and charge transfer in metal halide perovskites, which can be used to enrich our understanding of perovskite photophysics. The threshold carrier density, conventionally evaluated from optical pumping, is a key reference parameter towards electrically pumped lasers with the widely acknowledged assumption that optically excited charge carriers relax to the band edge through an ultrafast process. However, the characteristically slow carrier cooling in perovskites challenges this assumption. Here, we investigate the optical pumping of state-of-the-art bromide- and iodine-based perovskites. We find that the threshold decreases by one order of magnitude with decreasing excitation energy from 3.10 eV to 2.48 eV for methylammonium lead bromide perovskite (MAPbBr(3)), indicating that the low-energy photon excitation facilitates faster cooling and hence enables efficient carrier accumulation for population inversion. Our results are then interpreted due to the coupling of phonon scattering in connection with the band structure of perovskites. This effect is further verified in the two-photon pumping process, where the carriers relax to the band edge with a smaller difference in phonon momentum that speeds up the carrier cooling process. Furthermore, by extrapolating the optical pumping threshold to the band edge excitation as an analog of the electrical carrier injection to the perovskite, we obtain a critical threshold carrier density of similar to 1.9 x 10(17) cm(-3), which is one order of magnitude lower than that estimated from the conventional approach. Our work thus highlights the feasibility of metal halide perovskites for electrically pumped lasers. In the Cooling storage ring External-target Experiment (CEE) in heavy ion research facility in Lanzhou (HIRFL), multigap resistive plate chambers (MRPCs) detectors are used for high-precision time-of-flight (TOF) measurement to identify the scattered particles after the ion beam hits the target. Regarding the external TOF (eTOF) and 2/3 internal TOF (iTOF) detectors, a ~25-ps rms time precision is required for the readout electronics, whereas for the other 1/3 iTOF detectors, a ~10-ps rms precision is required. A readout electronics prototype was designed, including the front-end electronics (FEE) based on analog signal amplification, discrimination, and the time-to-digital module (TDM), based on field-programmable gate array (FPGA) time-to-digital converter (TDC), to achieve high-precision time measurement. PreAmplifier-DIscriminator (PADI) is used in the design of the FEE, while an FPGA TDC, based on tapped delay line (TDL) structure, with a time precision performance better than 5-ps rms, is implemented in the TDM, as well as the trigger matching circuit and other control logic. The performance of the whole system was tested under different input signal charges and the results indicated that the time precision is better than 10-ps rms, which satisfies the application requirements.

Shanghai high repetition rate X-ray-free electron laser (XFEL) and extreme light facility (SHINE) has been under construction. It aims at producing X-ray pulses in a photon energy range from 0.4 to 25 keV. To achieve the design goal, SHINE requires precise distribution and synchronization of the clock and timing signals over a long distance of approximately 3.1 km. Based on the standard White Rabbit (WR) protocol, a prototype of a high-precision clock and timing electronics is designed based on a customized clock frequency. Great attention is paid to the design of hardware and field programmable gate array (FPGA) logic to achieve high-precision clock synchronization, fine phase adjustment, and frequency tuning, as well as flexible shaping of timing signals. Test results indicate that the skew jitter of the clock signal is better than 20 ps within the frequency range from around 1 Hz to 1 MHz, and the clock phase delay can be adjusted with a step size of about 500 ps. As for the timing signals, the skew jitter is better than 40 ps rms. Moreover, the temperature drifts of the clock and timing signals are better than 3 ps/°C.

The development of natural polymer-based hydrogels, combining outstanding injectability, self-healing, and tissue adhesion, with mechanical performance, able to facilitate full-thickness skin wound healing, remains challenging. We have developed an injectable micellar hydrogel (AF127/HA-ADH/OHA-Dop) with outstanding adhesive and self-healing properties able to accelerate full-thickness skin wound healing. Dopamine-functionalized oxidized hyaluronic acid (OHA-Dop), adipic acid dihydrazide-modified HA (HA-ADH), and aldehyde-terminated Pluronic F127 (AF127) were employed as polymer backbones. They were cross-linked in situ using Schiff base dynamic covalent bonds (AF127 micelle/HA-ADH network and HA-ADH/OHA-Dop network), hydrogen bonding, and π-π stacking interactions. The resulting multicross-linked double-network design forms a micellar hydrogel. The unique multicross-linked double-network structure endows the hydrogel with both improved injection abilities and mechanical performance while self-healing faster than single-network hydrogels. Inspired by mussel foot adhesive protein, OHA-Dop mimics the catechol groups seen in mussel proteins, endowing hydrogels with robust adhesion properties. We also demonstrate the potential of our hydrogels to accelerate full-thickness cutaneous wound closure and improve skin regeneration with reduced scarring. We anticipate that our hydrogel platform based on a novel multicross-linked double-network design will transform the future development of multifunctional wound dressings.

In the field of nuclear medical imaging, nuclear and particle physics electronics, precise time measurement is an important task. In this paper, we focused on a real-time interpolated timing algorithm based on waveform digitization, which can be integrated in a field-programmable gate array (FPGA) device. The basic principle of this algorithm is to calculate the pulse peak and the time point when the pulse crosses the threshold. We analyzed the factors that would influence the time precision, and conducted simulations to estimate the effect. After implementing the algorithm in the FPGA, tests were conducted with the results concording well with the simulation, and a time precision of around 3 ps is successfully achieved for the photomultiplier tubes (PMT)-like pulse digitized by 800 MSps 12-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC).

In recent years, deep convolutional neural networks (CNNs) have been widely applied to handle low-level vision problems. However, most existing CNN-based approaches can either handle single degeneration each time or treat them jointly through feature entangling, thus likely leading to poor performance when the actual degradation is inconsistent with hypothetical degradation condition. Furthermore, feature coupling will bring a large amount of computation, which may make the methods impractical to real-time mobile scenarios. In order to address these problems, we propose a deep decoupled cooperative learning model which can not only develop the corresponding recover network to deal with each degradation, but also flexibly handle multiple degradations at the same time. Thus, our approach can achieve disentangling and synthesizing single image super-resolution and motion deblurring, which has high practicability. We evaluate the proposed approach on various benchmark datasets, covering both natural images and synthetic images. The results demonstrate its superiority, compared to the state-of-the-art, where image SR and motion deblurring can be accomplished effectively concurrently. Incorporating chiral organic compounds into metal halide frames is a common and useful method to introduce chirality in metal halide composites. The structures of resulting racemic and chiral composites are usually considered to be nearly identical owing to similar chemical bonding. In this work, by incorporating chiral MBABr (bromide methylbenzylamine) into an inorganic frame, a significant crystallization difference between the resulting racemic and chiral metal halide composites is observed, as confirmed by both structural and spectroscopic measurements. In addition, the structural transformation in the chiral composites can also be induced by moisture, ascribed to the asymmetric hydrogen bonding in chiral materials. These results provide new insights for the future synthesis of chiral materials and open up new possibilities to advance the materials functionalities. Manganese-based organic-inorganic metal halide composites have been considered as promising candidates for lead-free emitters. However, in spite of their excellent luminescence properties in green and red regions, blue emission-a critical component for white light generation-from pristine manganese-based composites is currently missing. In this work, we successfully achieve blue luminescence center in manganese-based composites through selecting specific organic component methylbenzylamine (MBA). Our approach is fundamentally different from green and red emission in manganese-based composites, which result from manganese-halide frameworks. The coexistence of different luminescence centers in our manganese-based composites is confirmed by photoluminescence (PL) and photoluminescence excitation (PLE) results. As a result of different photoluminescence excitation responses of different emission centers, the resulting emission color can be tuned with selecting different excitation wavelengths. Specifically, a white light emission can be obtained with Commission Internationale de leclairage coordinates of (0.33, 0.35) upon the 330 nm excitation. We further demonstrate the promise of our manganese-based composites in the anti-counterfeiting technology and multicolor lighting. Our results provide a novel strategy for full-spectral emission in manganese-based organic-inorganic metal halide composites and lay a solid foundation for a range of new applications. Hydrogel tissue adhesives that currently available are often fabricated by mixing two or more polymeric components. Single-component hydrogels afford injectability, strong and reversible adhesion remain a formidable challenge. This research describes the creation of the first single-component hyaluronic acid hydrogel adhesive-based on phenylboronic acid-diol ester linkages. Phenylboronic acid can not only serve as a cross-linker to form hydrogel, but also act as an adhesion site for glycosyl compounds found in biological cell membranes. The rheological and compressive tests for the hydrogel show that it has excellent self-healing properties, good injectability and strong compressive strength. Adhesion tests demonstrated that the hydrogel has significantly greater adhesion strength than commercial fibrin glue. These findings suggest that the rational design of hydrogel precursors facilitates the formation of single-component networks and multiple functionalities. In vivo studies further proved the hydrogel was an ideal bio-adhesive with biocompatibility, absorbed wound exudate and hemostasis, and accelerated wound closure.

Background: Arthroscopic techniques have gradually become popular for anterior talofibular ligament (ATFL) repair. However, the reliability of the repair and the risk of nerve injuries are of concern. The aim of this study was to evaluate the fully intra-articular lasso-loop stitch technique for arthroscopic ATFL repair. Methods: From October 2018 to December 2019, 43 cases with chronic lateral ankle instability were treated with this fully intra-articular lasso-loop stitch technique using the Arthro-Pierce instrument. The Karlsson-Peterson score, Cumberland Ankle Instability Tool (CAIT) score, visual analog scale (VAS) score, anterior drawer and talar tilt stress fluoroscopy were evaluated at the preoperative and final follow-up appointments, respectively. All surgical complications were also recorded. Results: A total of 39 cases were followed up for a mean of 28.23 ± 3.64 months (range, 23-34 months). At the final follow-up, the averages of the Karlsson-Peterson, CAIT and VAS scores were 90.26 ± 6.58, 88.56 ± 7.21 and 0.79 ± 1.06, respectively. During surgery, 2 cases were modified with augmentation of the inferior extensor retinaculum. No nerve injuries were encountered. Only 1 female complained about mild knot irritation. A 25-year-old solider required revision surgery due to an accidental injury. Conclusion: We found the fully intra-articular lasso-loop stitch technique for ATFL repair using the Arthro-Pierce instrument to be reliable and safe with a sufficient and good-quality ligament remnant. Eutrophication of lakes is one of the most common pressures affecting aquatic biodiversity and ecosystem services. Poyang Lake is of great importance for maintaining regional ecological balance; however, algal blooms have become major environmental problems in this basin, and they are also caused by a variety of problems including biodiversity decline, toxin production and possibly unsafe drinking water. In this study, the community structure of phytoplankton and physicochemical parameters were investigated in different eutrophication area, Poyang Lake Basin. The results showed that the number of phytoplankton species had decreased, but the density and biomass were increased in the current period. The assemblage structure of phytoplankton showed significantly seasonal and spatial variability. The assemblage structure of phytoplankton was related to dissolved oxygen, nitrate nitrogen, chlorophyll-a and ammonium nitrogen, based on redundancy analysis. The study showed that the phytoplankton community structure was influenced by algal blooms and water quality factors. This study provides an important reference for increased biomonitoring and ecohydrological studies in this basin.

Poyang Lake Basin is of great importance to maintain regional ecological balance. However, fish biodiversity in this basin has rapidly declined as the result of anthropogenic habitat alteration, such as dam construction, sand mining, and water pollution. Here, we aimed to analyze the temporal and spatial changes in biodiversity patterns of fish in Poyang Lake Basin over the last 37 years. The number of fish species underwent a significant decrease in the current period. In particular, 36.7% of the migration of fish was extirpated. Twenty‐seven fish species have been formally assessed using the Chinese Red List were currently listed as Critically Endangered (9), Endangered (3), Vulnerable (10), and Near Threatened (5). Alpha and gamma diversity revealed that fish diversity had also decreased, and beta diversity showed significant composition dissimilarity in two periods. PCoA showed that the historical fish composition dissimilarity was significantly different from that of the current period. We found a significant effect of the geographical distance on the spatial turnover component for the historical and current periods. In addition, the nestedness component was the main contributor to beta diversity, which indicated one large protected area should be established in Poyang Lake and the Ganjiang River Basin with higher species richness. These results indicated that fish biodiversity declined in the current period likely caused by anthropogenic habitat alteration and other threatened factors. Therefore, we suggest that the habitat reconstruction and biodiversity conservation for fish have become imperative in this basin, and a complete management plan should be carried out., Poyang Lake Basin is of great importance to maintain regional ecological balance. Jiangxi Province is a biodiversity hotspot in the People’s Republic of China and has abundant land-snail species (247). Beta diversity is a key concept for understanding the functioning of ecosystems, the conservation of biodiversity, and the management of ecosystems. Here, the pattern of beta diversity for land snails in Jiangxi Province was analyzed. The results showed that the spatial turnover component was the main contributor to beta diversity, indicating that additional conservation efforts must target an increase in the number of protected areas, which should be spread across each one of the areas, to maximize the protection of species diversity. The nestedness component of diversity was always low, but there was a marked difference between microsnails, in which zero values occurred in 41.3% of all cases, and macrosnails, in which zero values occurred in only 2.7% of cases. There was a difference in the pattern of beta diversity between the two. The principal coordinate analysis showed a clear pattern with four groups in Jiangxi Province. In addition, we found significant effects of precipitation and altitude on overall beta diversity. These results will provide important basic information for the conservation of biodiversity in land snails.

Summary This paper reports a new method to generate stable and high-brightness electroluminescence (EL) by subsequently growing large/small grains at micro/nano scales with the configuration of attaching small grains on the surfaces of large grains in perovskite (MAPbBr3) films by mixing two precursor solutions (PbBr2 + MABr and Pb(Ac)2·3H2O + MABr). Consequently, the small and large grains serve, respectively, as passivation agents and light-emitting centers, enabling self-passivation on the defects located on the surfaces of light-emitting large grains. Furthermore, the light-emitting states become linearly polarized with maximal polarization of 30.8%, demonstrating a very stable light emission (49,119 cd/m2 with EQE = 11.31%) and a lower turn-on bias (1.9 V) than the bandgap (2.25V) in the perovskite LEDs (ITO/PEDOT:PSS/MAPbBr3/TPBi[50 nm]/LiF[0.7 nm]/Ag). A novel time calibration method for waveform sampling application specific integrated circuits (ASICs) based on switched capacitor arrays (SCAs) is proposed in this paper. Precision timing extraction using SCA ASICs has been proved to be a promising technique in many high energy physics experiments. However, such ASICs suffer from irregular sampling intervals caused by process variations. Therefore, careful calibration is required to improve the time resolution of such systems. We evaluated the limitation of a popular method using the proportionality between voltage amplitude and sampling interval of adjacent switched-capacitor cells responding to either a sawtooth wave or a sine wave . The new time calibration method presented here utilizes the relationship between sampling intervals and the known input signal period to establish overdetermined linear equations, and the roots of these equations correspond to the actual sampling intervals. We applied this new method to a pulse timing test with an ASIC designed by our team, and the test results indicate that the new time calibration method is effective.

Intrinsic degradation in 100 nm AlQ3 OLED device with strong luminescence was observed while nearly no degradation in 50 nm AlQ3 device with weak luminescence was observed for the same operation time. Based on the EL and PL measurements, it was suggested that penetration of AlQ3 molecules into NPB layer resulted in the increase of electron leakage current, and thus significant loss of current efficiency. A plausible Coulomb effect induced intrinsic degradation mechanism was therefore proposed to explain the experimental results.

The crisscross progress of transportation and energy carries the migrating track of human society development and the evolution of civilization, among which the decarbonization strategy is a key issue. Traffic carbon emissions account for 16.2% of total energy carbon emissions, while road traffic carbon emissions account for 11.8% of total energy carbon emissions. Therefore, road traffic is a vital battlefield in attaining the goal of decarbonization. Employing clean energy as an alternative fuel is of great significance to the transformation of the energy consumption structure in road transportation. Hydrogen and ammonia are renewable energy with the characteristics of being widely distributed and clean. Both exist naturally in nature, and the products of complete combustion are substances (water and nitrogen) that do not pollute the atmosphere. Because it can promote agricultural production, ammonia has a long history in human society. Both have the potential to replace traditional fossil fuel energy. An overview of the advantages of hydrogen and ammonia, as well as their development in different countries such as the United States, the European Union, Japan, and other major development regions is presented in this paper. Related research topics of hydrogen and ammonia’s production, storage and transferring technology have also been analyzed and collated to stimulate the energy production chain for road transportation. The current cost of green hydrogen is between $2.70–$8.80 globally, which is expected to approach $2–$6 by 2030. Furthermore, the technical development of hydrogen and ammonia as a fuel for engines and fuel cells in road transportation is compared in detail, and the tests, practical applications and commercial popularization of these technologies are summarized, respectively. Opportunities and challenges coexist in the era of the renewable energy. Based on the characteristics and development track of hydrogen and ammonia, the joint development of these two types of energy is meant to be imperative. The collaborative development mode of hydrogen and ammonia, together with the obstacles to their development of them are both compared and discussed. Finally, referring to the efforts and experiences of different countries in promoting hydrogen and ammonia in road transportation, corresponding constructive suggestions have been put forward for reference. At the end of the paper, a framework diagram of hydrogen and ammonia industry chains is provided, and the mutual promotion development relationship of the two energy sources is systematically summarized.
