The objective of this study was to predict gestational age of Osmanabadi goats by realtime ultrasonography using measurements of Crown Rump Length (CRL). CRL was measured in 15 Osmanabadi goats, by transabdominal ultrasonography carried out on days 35, 42, 49, 56, 63 and 70 of gestation, those became pregnant after oestrus detection and natural mating following oestrus synchronization in 30 does using double PGF2α injections 11 days apart. Gestational age was calculated by using gestational equations derived from the linear regression analysis. Results clearly demonstrated that biometric parameter CRL was significantly (P< 0.01) correlated with gestational age (r= 0.988) and was a reliable index to predict gestational age in Osmanabadi goats. The aim of the study was to evaluate efficacy of various methods of diagnosis of pyometra in bitches. All the bitches suspected for pyometra (n=28) were subjected to diagnostic methods like abdominal palpation, radiography, ultrasonography and haematological examination. Abdominal palpation revealed an obvious uterine enlargement. Lateral abdominal radiograph of bitches revealed a fluid filled dense tubular structure larger in diameter than small intestinal loops in ventral and caudal area of abdomen displacing loops of intestine dorsally and cranially. Ultrasonography of bitches with pyometra revealed an enlarged uterus with convoluted, tubular horns filled with anechoic to hypoechoic fluid. Leucocytosis with absolute neutrophilia was the most common finding in the pyometra affected bitches. The article presents a study on the effect of treating female dogs from 1-12 years with a history and exhibiting symptoms of pyometra using a combination of dopamine agonist prolactin inhibiting drug or cabergoline and synthetic prostaglandin for seven days. Changes in physiological parameters such as rectal temperature, haematological parameters, and biochemical parameters in treated bitches before and after are showed. The combination treatment is reported to have cured all treated bitches.

The article describes the case of a five-year-old doe with breeding history unknown presenting at the clinic for assistance in giving birth. Vaginal examination indicated the anterior presentation of the fetus with flexed knee joint that blocks the birth canal that liquid paraffin was used to lubricate the birth passage and delivery of the dead fetus was through the application of judicious traction. The article presents a case study of six year old crossbred cow with full term gestation which presented with a history of straining to the Teaching Veterinary Clinical Complex of College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry in Bhubaneswar, India. It says that the presence of a dead fetus in the pelvic cavity was revealed by vaginal examination. It adds that the fetus found removed from cow was identified to have a cebocephalus and arhinia condition.

The article examines clinical cases of bitches of different breeds with a history or symptoms suspected of pyometra and from in and around Hyderabad, India to determine incidence rates specifically pertaining to age, breed, and parity and interval between last estrus. The percentage of bitches found to be affected with pyometra out of the cases with complaints of various reproductive disorders, the age group with highest recorded occurrence, and the breed with highest predisposition are stated.

The article describes two cases in which surgical management of elbow hygroma was performed in two tigers at Nandankanan Zoo in Orissa, India. The first case involved a male white tiger named JAGDISH which presented with a fluctuating swelling at right elbow joint. The second case involved a rescued white tigress with bilateral fluctuating swelling at both elbows. Surgical drainage was performed to treat the hygromas. No inflammatory cells were found in the fluid collected from swelling.
