The study aims to identify the levels of intelligence in players of judo national team of Jordan. In addition, the study aims to identify the differences in the level of some types of multiple intelligences in the players depending on the variables of category of the team and the qualification of the player at the age of training. Due to the suitability and nature of this study, the scale of ownership (2016) was used as a tool for the study. The measure consists of (52) items divided into five types of multiple intelligences, namely: motor, linguistic, spatial, personal, and social. After confirming the validity and reliability of this tool, information was collected from a sample of 28 players. The results of the study showed that the level of the most common types of intelligence among the players is kinetic intelligence with an average of arithmetic (4.50), followed by spatial intelligence with an average of (4.24), personal intelligence with an average of (4.13) and linguistic intelligence with an average of (3.99). The results showed that there were no statistically significant differences in the number of different types of intelligence in the national judo team in Jordan depending on qualification and age of training variables. The researchers recommended some programs to develop and enhance the intelligence of the players of the national judo team in Jordan.

ICTs is evolving so rapidly that their products have become essential for providing solutions to all our problems and daily life situations. The emergence of the IoT, which is one of the new ICT domains, has led to major changes in the physical world surrounding us, allowing for the integration of all the things we use every day into the internet information world. This research provides a solution for monitoring and controlling people, public vehicles and service facilities in Hajj areas. It integrates IoT architecture with many other technologies in order to provide a capability of monitoring these three components by Hajj authorities, so that they would be able to plan for the Hajj season and make appropriate real time decisions of what might happen on the ground. The suggested system collects data of mobile phones, carried by pilgrims, through Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS sensors embedded in them. It also, at pre-defined locations, monitors and collects data from the RFID equipped bracelets they wear. At the same time, it collects public transport vehicles positioning data and service facilities static data, from the active RFID chips mounted on them. The data collected will be stored on IoT cloud and integrated with data from other sources, enabling for being monitored and analyzed by Hajj authority personnel. They would be able, accordingly, to send messages and instructions to pilgrims and field administrative personnel to handle crisis situations. The suggested solution is further enhanced by integrating the collected IoT – based data with local mobile networks data, so that a more accurate and comprehensive picture of the movement of crowds of pilgrims can be obtained.

Aim: To assess the increased hospital length of stay and healthcare costs associated with SSIs among ventriculoperitoneal shunting surgery patients in Jordan. Design: Retrospective and nested 1:1 pair-matched case-control design. Methods: A non-probability convenience sample of 48 VP shunt patients was recruited into SSI and non-SSI groups, to standardize the matching variables and exclude their effects as confounders. Data sources: Patients’ electronic medical records from January 2016 to August 2021. Results: The SSI-group had an extra mean healthcare cost of USD 13,696.53 and a longer hospital length of stay (22.64 mean additional days). Furthermore, Acinetobacter baumanii and Klebsiella pneumonia were identified as being the most predominant causative agents of SSIs. Conclusion: The results of this study provide baseline data for national and regional benchmarking to evaluate the quality of care provided to likewise patients. Adherence to infection control strategies and protocols considering new surveillance methods of SSIs are encouraged. Implications for the profession and/or patient care: National benchmarking and remediation are required for post-VP shunting SSIs. Impact: There are significant associations of SSI post neurosurgery with increased financial burden and wastage of healthcare resources. The findings of this study can be utilized as a standard source for national benchmarking to evaluate the quality of care delivered to likewise patients and promote their infection control measures. Multidrug-resistant bacteria have recently been considered a growing concern for SSIs post-VP shunting. These impacts affect post-VP shunting patients and their healthcare professionals. Reporting method: EQUATOR's reporting guidelines for Observational studies (STOBE- Strengthening the Reporting of Observational Studies in Epidemiology) have been followed for this research design. The study aims to evaluate the computerized, and non-computerized activities in the new Palestinian mathematics textbook for 8th grade according to the point of view of teachers who taught with the book during the last semester and who have long years of experience in teaching mathematics. The researcher developed a new framework from a literature review that was used to evaluate mathematics and computerized activities in the 8th-grade textbook. The analysis for this paper was conducted with data using quantitative and qualitative methods, an interview & a questionnaire. The questionnaire, which was utilized for this study, consisted of 23 indicators and a 5-point LIKERT scale in light of the framework, 2 Mathematics, teachers were interviewed in a semi-structured method. A tool of this study was validated by a group with expertise in teaching math and tested through CRONBACH'S alpha (0.84). Seventy-two teachers participated in the study, and they select through purposeful sampling using a voluntary process. They contacted through email and Facebook Messenger and were provided with a link for the questionnaire designed on a Google Drive sheet. The general result shows a neutral evaluation of the computerized activities, and the same results were confirmed through a semi-structured interview. The results showed no significant differences due to gender or years of experience as a teacher, while there were differences between the types of schools, with the government and UNRWA schools on the one hand and private schools on the other. However, the evaluation was below average for the following indicators: open-ended problems, the induction method, ICT (such as using smart devices), and the simplicity of the language used for computerized activities. In light of these results, the researcher recommends that computerized activities that were rated below average be enriched and that gaps be bridged.

The aim of this research was to study and investigate first year university calculus students' misconceptions about how to use the definition of limit to find the first derivative of functions and then remediate these misconceptions by using APOS theory (Action, Process, Object, and Schema). Students (n = 82 female and male) were selected based on their performance in the first semester of university, i.e., purposive selection. Data obtained in the pretest indicated five types of misconceptions students had in handling the first derivative by finding the limit of function by the definition method. The researcher conducted a remedial plan on the concept of conjugates using APOS theory as an intervention for the remedy and recovery. The result of the post-test showed improvement and progress in the student's achievement, so the intervention was effective by using APOS Theory. The researcher recommended using APOS for similar situations.

The objective of this study was to investigate the physics student-teachers misconceptions in force and motion concepts in Jordanian universities by using the Force Concept Inventory (FCI) test and to identify the cause of misconceptions related to these concepts. Also, the FCI has been used to detect whether misconceptions vary according to gender, the geographical place of the university in Jordan, and students' attitudes towards physics as a major. The study was conducted on (97) student-teachers attending to the different universities in Jordan. Data were analyzed by using t-test and ANOVA test. The results of the study indicated that physics student-teachers grasp high misconceptions about the impetus and active force. 20% of the students correctly answered the questions related to Newton's third law. In addition, the differences among the studied universities were not statistically significant in the FCI test (F = 1.311 and p = 0.247). Based on the Pearson Correlation Coefficient (PCC), there was no correlation between the GPA of the students at high school and their performance in the FCI test, whereas a significant correlation was found between the GPA of the students at university and their performance on the test. The results also demonstrated that the performance of the students on the test did not reflect significant differences in their major attitude as well as their gender at any University in Jordan. Thus, this study could be initiated with the aim of probing the Jordanian Universities attitudes towards learning Physics and their conceptual understanding of the Newtonian force concept in Physics.

This study examines one of the most important social concepts and perspectives in mathematics textbooks from first grade to 12th grade in Palestine, which is gender bias. To achieve the goal of this study, the researcher conducted a quantitative and qualitative content analysis of an interval sample of these textbooks. Content analysis is considered an important method for revealing the strengths and weaknesses of curriculum components. The content analysis addressed the use of gender in names, verbs (actions), pictures, pronouns, and professions. The result confirms a male bias in all aspects of the analysis. The same result was confirmed by the qualitative analysis of profession types mentioned in mathematics textbooks for both females and males. In light of these results, the researcher strongly recommends that the curriculum be reformed to improve the gender balance.

Online learning systems in developing countries such as Jordan face many challenges. Universities worldwide have dealt with obstacles in terms of continuing face-to-face education. An online learning system is an indispensable solution for all universities. However, students have not been adequately prepared to use online learning systems. This study examines the factors that impact the use of online learning systems by accounting students in Jordanian public universities. A model combining the critical factors from social capital theory (SCT), the theory of reasoned action (TRA), and the technology acceptance model (TAM) is proposed. Data obtained from 274 students through previously tested and validated questionnaires are used to test students' actual use of the online learning system and to determine the factors that positively or negatively impact the use of this system. As hypothesized, the results show that social trust influences the perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use of online learning. In addition, the perceived usefulness of the online learning system is positively affected by its perceived ease of use and subjective norms. This study finds three significant predictors of attitudes toward use decisions: subjective norms, perceived ease of use, and perceived usefulness. The results are valuable to accounting educators, accounting students, universities, and higher education institutions.

Background: Sleep is a fundamental prerequisite for physical and mental health. Poor quality of sleep is common among post‐cardiac surgery patients and leads to serious health conditions. Objective: To conduct a systematic review that investigates the effectiveness of eye masks, earplugs and deep‐breathing exercise on sleep quality among post‐cardiac surgery patients. Design: A systematic review of interventional studies was established to meet the PRISMA guidelines. Methods: PRISMA guidelines were used to assess the findings of 11 selected studies that met the inclusion criteria, published between 2007 and 2023 across four databases: CINAHL, JDNR, MEDLINE and PubMed. The search was conducted on 23 November 2023. Results: The 11 most eligible studies were analysed. All of them were interventional, encompassing a total of 787 participants. Randomised controlled trials were the most common design. Interventions included eye masks, earplugs and deep‐breathing exercises. The Richards‐Campbell Sleep Questionnaire was the most used assessment scale. Most of the reviewed studies found that the use of non‐pharmacological interventions (eye masks, earplugs and deep‐breathing exercise) significantly improves the quality of sleep. These interventions were also found to have potentially positive effects on reducing pain and delirium experienced by patients after undergoing cardiac surgery. Conclusions: Non‐pharmacological interventions (eye masks, earplugs and deep‐breathing exercise) were found to be cost‐effective interventions that could be easily applied in the clinical setting and are effective in improving the quality of sleep among patients after cardiac surgery. Objective(s): Recently, great attention has been paid to developing new drug delivery systems to manage the rate, time, and site of drug release. We aimed to design a novel drug delivery system to support targeted and gradual delivery of levothyroxine sodium.Materials and Methods: The triblock copolymers of PLA-PEG-PLA and PLGA-PEG-PLGA were constructed using the ring-opening copolymerization method and then purified and characterized by 1H-NMR, DSC, and GPC techniques. The phase transition temperature of the polymers was determined, and levothyroxine sodium stability was investigated in a phosphate-based buffer (pH 7.4). In vitro drug release into the PBS was measured at different concentrations of the triblocks for one month. Results: The results of NMR and GPC showed successful fabrication of the copolymers with low molecular weight dispersion and Tg points of -8.19 °C and -5.19 °C for PLA-PEG-PLA and PLGA-PEG-PLGA, respectively. Stability tests showed that during one month, most of the triblocks’ masses degraded at 37 °C while levothyroxine sodium remained stable. Initial burst release of the drug in both copolymers is inversely correlated with the concentration of the polymer. Evaluation of drug release for 35 days showed that PLA-PEG-PLA had a slower drug release rate than PLGA-PEG-PLGA.Conclusion: Considering the low initial burst release, as well as continuous and long-term release kinetics of PLA-PEG-PLA and PLGA-PEG-PLGA copolymers, they can be used to gradually deliver levothyroxine sodium, obviating the need for frequent administrations and concerns over drug-food interactions.

The present research, being one string of the Environmental Education (EE), aims to study, and analyze EE objectives in the Palestinian 10th grade textbook from an international point view , namely: to conduct a comparative survey of environmental education goals between the UNESCO framework and 10th grade Palestine Curriculum. To achieve this aim, the researcher refers to the UNESCO framework as a standard tool of EE, then analyzes the Palestinian 10th grade textbook in light of this tool. The finding of the research indicated that there are partial consistently between the UNESCO EE, and Palestinian 10th grade textbook in two levels of objectives (2 and 3), while there is no match on the other two levels of objectives (1 and 4), on the light of these finding the researcher recommends to policy makers, and the Palestinian writing team of the Environmental Education Curriculum to reform objectives on the light of international trends toward Environmental Education.

Objective(s): Bromelain, a mixture of proteolytic enzymes from pineapple (Ananas comosus) is known as a potential debriding agent in burn treatment. In this research, the debridement efficiency of chitosan hydrogel loaded by sodium alginate-chitosan nanoparticles (NPs) containing bromelain (Br 10%-AG-CS NPs) was evaluated in animal models. Materials and Methods: The NPs were prepared using the ionic gelation technique and their properties were identified. Then, the debridement effect of bromelain NPs incorporated into chitosan hydrogel was evaluated 4 hr after wound treatment in animal models. Results: The particle size of positively charged Br-AG-Cs NPs was about 390±25 nm. The encapsulation efficiency of bromelain into AG-CS NPs was about 92%. The in vitro release profile showed that the maximum release of bromelain from NPs occurred during the first 4 hr (70%). The hydrogel structure did not significantly affect the profile release of bromelain in the formulation. After 6 months of storage at 4 and 25 °C, the synthesized NPs indicated no significant changes in bromelain activity. It was found that Br 10%-Ag-Cs NPs-CS hydrogel had the most beneficial effects on reducing necrotic tissues and resulted in re-epithelialization compared with other treated groups (negative and positive control, CS hydrogel, and Br 10%-CS hydrogel). Conclusion: Therefore, using this novel formulation can be considered a potential debridement agent.
