To change for the better of the menu board which is not applied ICT technology, we present automatic ordering system using by CMOS touch technology. Optical touch can be an ambiguous term because there are several different methods of using light to detect touch. The progress that has been made in CMOS technology over the past decade has made it the preferred technology for high speed inspection. CMOS infrared (IR) cameras are placed on top of a display, looking across the surface of the display in order to detect the presence of a touching object. In this paper, we present the process of choosing the menu by the CMOS infrared technology, and the communication with the sever(POS in this case) using WIFI. The increase in the elderly population increases the incidence of geriatric diseases such as cancer, stroke, heart disease, and dementia. Cognitive impairment and a debilitated memory ability decreases the quality of life of patients owing to the associated economical and physical problems, and increases the burden on their family. The impairment of cognitive function due to dementia can be reduced through repeated and systematic training; however, this process can lead to disinterest and loss of concentration. Toys can stimulate various parts of the brain by inducing patient’s finger exercise, and various rehabilitative techniques based on toys are being studied by researchers. In this study, we develop a smart cognitive rehabilitation block(LED blocks, 8x8 dot matrix blocks, speaker blocks, signage blocks, PWM switch blocks, 7-segment blocks), and establish a cognitive rehabilitation platform for patient management and develop cognitive rehabilitation contents.

Background Some malignant cancers show high levels of local invasiveness by the secretion of soluble factors that can degrade adjacent tissues and suppress surrounding cell growth. We investigated the possibility of treating fibroproliferative scars based on these properties of malignant melanoma. Material and methods B16 melanoma-conditioned medium (B16 M-CM) was added to keloid fibroblasts (KFs), and proliferation, migration, and type I collagen production were measured. The cell cycle and signaling pathways were also analyzed. Proteins associated with cell proliferation were measured with Western blot analysis. Animal experiments using a rabbit ear model was performed to confirm the effect of B16 M-CM in vivo . Results B16 M-CM reduced proliferation, migration, and type I collagen production of KFs. This treatment also increased the number of cells in the subG1 phase and decreased phosphorylation levels of AKT, extracellular signal-regulated kinase1/2, cyclin D1, and c-Myc of KFs. Additionally, B16 M-CM reduced the thickness of rabbit ear scars in the rabbit ear model in vivo . Conclusions B16 M-CM can suppress proliferation, migration, and type I collagen production of KFs. In addition, concentrated B16 M-CM reduced scar thickness in the rabbit ear model. The specific proteins involved should be identified in a future study.

ObjectivesThis study was designed to provide recent trends of obesity among workers in Korea, and identify whether there was difference across occupational group.MethodsWe used data from Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination survey phase I to VI (1998–2015) to analyze trends in prevalence of obesity in Korean adult workers. Obesity was defined as a BMI of 25 kg/m2 or higher. Occupation was classified into 3 groups; a) non-manual worker, b) service/sales worker, c) manual worker.ResultDuring the period from KNHANES phase I to VI, the prevalence of obesity in male workers increased in all occupations as a whole (31.1% to 39.5% in manual worker, 32.3% to 38.2% in service/sales worker, 25.3% to 39.7% in manual worker). In contrast, female workers did not show a particular tendency except for a significantly decreasing in the prevalence rate in service/sales workers (30.8% to 23.9%, p for trend 0.0048).ConclusionsThe trends of obesity prevalence by gender and occupation were different. Especially for male manual-workers, the prevalence rate has increased steadily during the period, while it has decreased steadily in female sales/service workers. These results can be used to select vulnerable groups that can be applied to obesity prevention programs first.

Single-crystal Bi2Te3 nanowires (NWs) and nanoribbons (NRs) were synthesized by a vapor-liquid-solid (VLS) method from Bi2Te3 powder. To investigate the thermal properties of the Bi2Te3 nanostructure, a nondestructive technique based on temperature dependent Raman mapping was carried out. The Raman peaks were red shifted with increasing temperature. In addition, the fraction of the laser power absorbed inside the Bi2Te3 nanostructures was estimated by optical simulation and used to calculate the thermal conductivity value (κ). The thermal conductivity value obtained for the Bi2Te3 NW and NR was 1.47 Wm−1K−1 and 1.81 Wm−1K−1 at 300 K, respectively. The electrical conductivity of the Bi2Te3 nanostructure was also measured. In particular, an excellent electrical conductivity value of 1.22 * 103 Ω−1 cm−1 was obtained for the Bi2Te3 NW at 300 K. This result can be attributed to topological insulator surface states. As a result of our study, the figure of merit (ZT) for the Bi2Te3 NW and NR can be significantly improved.

Single-layered porous silica films were prepared on polyethylene terephthalate (PET) substrates as antireflection coatings for efficient, large-scale flexible optoelectronic devices. Cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB)-templated synthesis was employed to form porous silica films. Without using high temperature treatment, CTAB was removed by washing in water to create a porous structure in the films. To spin-coat on PET substrates, contact angle between silica sol and PET surface was measured to optimize the molar ratio of the solution. Pore size and surface sharpness were estimated using atomic force microscope data. The average reflectance of as-prepared AR coatings on PET substrates was ≤ 2%.

We developed a Raman lidar system that can remotely detect CO2 leakage and its volume mixing ratio (VMR). The system consists of a laser, a telescope, an optical receiver, and detectors. Indoor CO2 cell measurements show that the accuracy of the Raman lidar is 99.89%. Field measurements were carried out over a four-day period in November 2017 at the Eumsong Environmental Impact Evaluation Test Facility (EIT), Korea, where a CO2 leak was located 0.2 km from the Raman lidar. The results show good agreement between CO2 VMR measured by the Raman lidar system (CO2 VMRRaman LIDAR) and that measured by in situ instruments (CO2 VMRIn-situ). The correlation coefficient (R), mean absolute error (MAE), root mean square error (RMSE), and percentage difference between CO2 VMRIn-situ and CO2 VMRRaman LIDAR are 0.81, 0.27%, 0.37%, and 4.92%, respectively. The results indicate that Raman lidar is an effective tool in detecting CO2 leakage and in measuring CO2 VMR remotely.

Anoctamin-1 (ANO1), also known as TMEM16A, is a Ca2+-activated chloride channel known to mediate a number of physiologic functions such as mediating acute and chronic pain and regulating blood vessels and airway smooth muscle. In particular, ANO1 expression is amplified in a variety of cancers, and overexpression of ANO1 is not favorable for clinical prognosis. Previous studies have reported that ANO1 is associated with tumorigenesis, proliferation, migration, and invasion of cancer cells, but the mechanism is not clear yet. In this study, we examined role of ANO1 in the maintenance of stemness and radio-resistance in glioma stem cells (GSCs). Knockdown of ANO1 with shRNA and treatment of ANO1 specific inhibitors (CaCCAo1 and TAO1) suppressed the expression of Notch intracellular domain, Nestin and EGFRvIII and decreased self-renewal activity and invasion in GSCs. Suppression of ANO1 increased radiation sensitivity by inducing ROS-mediated GSCs death. However, inhibition of chloride channel activity, the main function of ANO1, was found to be unaffected in this event. Interestingly, we found that ANO1 retained stemness by direct binding to EGFRvIII, which is specifically expressed in GSCs, and that the chaperone property of ANO1 function may affect the stability of EGFRvIII. In intracranial mouse model of GSCs, knockdown of ANO1 increased the survival rate of mice by suppressing tumor formation. Taken together, we suggest that ANO1 is a crucial molecule involved in the maintenance of stemness and radiation resistance in GSCs and may be a good therapeutic target for treating glioblastoma. This paper presents a Reliability-Based Topology Optimization (RBTO) based on Evolutionary Structural Optimization (ESO). An actual design involves uncertain conditions such as material property, operational load and dimensional variation. Deterministic Topology Optimization (DTO) is obtained without considering of the uncertainties related to the uncertainty parameters. However, RBTO involves evaluation of probabilistic constraints, which can be done in two different ways, the reliability index approach (RIA) and the performance measure approach (PMA). Limit state function is approximated using Monte Carlo Simulation and Central Composite Design for reliability analysis. ESO, one of the topology optimization techniques, is adopted for topology optimization.
