The current global severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) pandemic has magnified the risk to healthcare providers when inititiating airway management, and safe tracheal intubation has become of paramount importance. Mitigation of risk to frontline providers requires airway management to be an orchestrated exercise based on training and purposeful simulation. Role allocation and closed-loop communication form the foundation of this exercise. We describe a methodical, 10-step approach from decision-making and meticulous drug and equipment choices to donning of personal protective equipment, and procedural concerns. This bundled approach will help reduce unplanned actions, which in turn may reduce the risk of aerosol transmission during airway management in resource-limited settings.

Rice is a crucial staple crop cultivated extensively in command areas worldwide. In the command areas, the release of water varies due to the inadequate amount of rainfall in the source area and its proper supply. To combat such situations, direct seeding (DS) methods can be opted for; however, lacunae like excess seeds per drop, scattering of seeds, and intercultural operations like thinning, gap filling, and excess weed growth need a clear refinement to enhance the profitability of rice cultivation. Therefore, a research trial was conducted during 2022-24 at Central Farm, Agricultural College & Research Institute, Madurai, to evolve a suitable direct seeding method. The present investigation was laid out under a split-plot design comprising four main plot treatments and four subplot treatments replicated thrice. The main plot treatments comprised different seeding methods (S) and the subplot treatments comprised different seed coating techniques (P). Based on the experimental results, paper roll seeding and DS + Seed coating @ 2% KNO3 fb Bacillus sp. and Azospirillum (PR + P-KN) combination performed better on establishment with grain (6150 kg/ha) and straw yield (7824 kg/ha) respectively. Regarding the B:C ratio, OS-GP + P-KN resulted in higher with 2.64, closely followed by PR + P-KN with 2.61. The least effect was recorded in the combination of round slots in rice drum seeder and dry seeding (RS + DS). Investigating different techniques of direct seeding and seed coating is essential across various regions, particularly in regulated areas where water discharge remains unpredictable. Fully solid-state lithium-ion cells have the benefits of excellent safety, remarkable electrochemical stability, and extended cycle life. They are categorized as prospective candidates for new-generation energy storage devices capable of safe and stable operation for relatively long periods. In whole solid-state Li-ion cells, polymer-based solid electrolyte membranes (SEMs) are expected to serve as both the solid electrolyte and the partition material. Remarkably high ionic conductivity and efficient ion diffusion can be achieved in SEMs by incorporating inorganic filler materials. In the present work, solid electrolyte membranes are developed by a simple solution cast method. The addition of Al2O3 nanoparticles is found to enhance the ionic conductivity of SE membranes to 1.25 × 10−4 S cm−1 for optimum concentrations of lithium salt and filler material. These SE membranes show relatively high electrochemical stability window up to 4.75 V. Transparent and freestanding SE membranes developed using PEO-PVDF-LiNO3-Al2O3 have excellent thermal stability, ideal ion transport number, and good electrochemical properties, suitable for applications in solid-state lithium-ion cells. Assembled LiFePO4-MWCNT//SEM//Li metal half-cells are found to deliver an initial discharge capacity of 128 mAh g−1 at 0.1 C and an initial Coulombic efficiency of 98%. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
