Football is considered the most popular sport among adolescents, but most do not meet the World Health Organization's recommendation of 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity (MVPA) per day. Can regular football practice help to meet this recommendation? This research aimed to assess the physical activity levels of players in a high-performance football academy, both in training and in matches, using accelerometry. In addition, the study aimed to analyze the coaching style of the participants’ coaches using the researcher’s diary. A total of 130 players from a Spanish professional La Liga team agreed to participate: Under 18 (U18), Under 15 (U15) and Under 13 (U13). In addition, the subjective perception of total quality of recovery (TQR) and perceived exertion (RPE) before and after each training session/match, as well as their coaches, were analysed. The results showed that the average minutes of MVPA per training session and match with more than 60 minutes played were respectively: U18: 61.46 ± 2.45 and 77.78 ± 5.93, U15: 50.84 ± 3.78 and 79.63 ± 14.84, and U13: 53.35 ± 4.96 and 74.04 ± 14.73. Players were consistently considered "very well recovered" (TQR). The RPE values of coaches and players were similar during training, but higher for coaches in competition. The U18 coaches showed a coaching style of autonomy support, while the U15 and U13 categories showed a controlling style. In conclusion, weekly football practice in a high-performance academy may enable adolescent players to meet international MVPA recommendations for health benefits by encouraging an active lifestyle.

Based on the control-value theory, this study examined connections between the perceived in-class degree of cooperation and academic performance mediated through the students’ negative and positive emotions in physical education. Students (N = 620, 55.5% girls; Mage = 13.01, SD = 2.10) reported on their perceptions of the degree of cooperation and the negative (shame, hopelessness, anxiety, boredom) and positive (confidence, pride, enjoyment, calmness) emotions in physical education classes. Academic performance was obtained from their school’s administrators. Results from the multiple lineal regression analyses, considering the in-class degree of cooperation and the negative and positive emotions as predictor variables, showed a significantly positive link between the in-class degree of cooperation and the dependent variable academic performance, and between positive emotions and academic performance. These findings elucidate the impact of cooperative learning contexts and emotions on academic performance. Educational implications and future research are discussed.

Cooperative learning has been found to be more productive in academic, personal, and social variables than individualistic or competitive settings, but there is a lack of adequate assessment instruments. The goals of the study were two: a) adapt and validate the existing Cooperative Learning Scale Spanish version for English-speaking secondary education contexts and b) obtain a cooperation global factor. A total of 778 secondary education students, within the 11-15 age range, enrolled in five different schools in Wales (year seven = 301, year eight = 276, year nine = 201) participated in the study. The original instrument, designed and validated for Spanish contexts, underwent a process of double debugging: a) experts trial and b) pilot study. The Cooperative Learning Scale English version included five factors with three items each: interpersonal skills, group processing, positive interdependence, promotive interaction, and individual accountability. Novel bifactor exploratory structural equation modelling (B-ESEM) was used. Results showed well-defined factors corresponding to a-priori expectations and a G-factor, a cooperation global factor.

Abstract Objectives This study aimed at exploring the relationships between physical activity, weight control, and psycho-social aspects of the COVID-19 lockdown, which have characterized the Israeli population’s behavior during the COVID-19 global crisis. Design Cross-sectional survey research. Methods Participants included 1855 men and women aged 18 and above, from different regions in the country and representing different sectors. They were recruited through the social media in a “snowball” sampling, and filled out a self-administered six-part survey: Demographic background, the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ), the positive and negative affect scales (PANAS), the Conor and Davidson resilience scale, a questionnaire for measuring depressive symptoms, and questions regarding weight change based on the Israeli National Health and Nutrition (MABAT) survey. Results Routine physical activity (PA) was reported by 76.3% of the participants before the lockdown, 19.3% stopped exercising during this period, and 9.3% began exercising during the lockdown. The participants who were physically active during the lockdown period reported a higher level of resilience and positive feelings, and a lower level of depression, compared with those who were not physically active. People who were physically active during the lockdown maintained their weight compared with those who were inactive. Concerning weight change, 44.8% of the respondents maintained their weight, and a higher percentage of people reported weight gain than those who reported weight loss. Conclusions Continuous PA before and during the COVID-19 lockdown were associated with higher resilience and positive emotions, and depressive symptoms, in people aged 18 and above. Although a causal link cannot be established, in light of the results of the present study, encouraging physical activity may contribute to improving mental health and a sense of self-efficacy, as well as to maintaining weight during a crisis.

En aquest article es descriu un projecte de recerca-acció dut a la pràctica i investigat a través d’una unitat didàctica desenvolupada per treballar hàbits saludables, primers auxilis i educació vial amb l’objectiu de veure si es poden millorar aquests coneixements en els estudiants. Un total de 41 alumnes d’Educació Primària, 16 de 3r, 15 de 4t i 10 de 5è (d’entre 8 i 11 anys) van accedir a participar. El Qüestionari d’Interès Situacional, els estudis de cas i els dibuixos argumentats o pictogrames es van utilitzar per extreure informació. Els resultats quantitatius mostren que els estudiants van millorar àmpliament els seus coneixements, així com en el gaudi. Els resultats qualitatius mostren 6 categories: aprendre, agradar, divertit, novetat, companyonia i esforç. A més, els estudiants manifesten que la unitat didàctica havia estat una novetat, divertida, en la que havien gaudit perquè els havia agradat i havien après. Els resultats mostren que es pot millorar l’aprenentatge >de coneixements relacionats amb la salut, els primers auxilis i l’educació viària en estudiants de Primària d’una manera que resulti divertida per a ells.

The Self-Determination Theory argues that individuals are optimally motivated when their three Basic Psychological Needs (BPNs) are satisfied, which can be influenced by the learning environment created by the teachers. Student-centered frameworks are permeating worldwide. Thus, the study aimed to evaluate the effects of pedagogical models-based interventions in the promotion of students' BPNs. Four databases were searched, and twenty-five articles were retrieved. It was found that most programs had a positive impact on the students' BPNs, but they also uncovered interventions with no effects and a few with mixed results. The present review provides information not only to understand the effects of pedagogical models on the students' BPNs, but also to recognize the elements that could increase the success of future intervention programs.

The goal of the study was to assess the effects of two instructional frameworks (Cooperative Learning/Outdoor Adventure Education hybridization and Direct Instruction) on students' motivation and disruptive behaviours and explore students and teachers' views on hybridization. The participants were 170 high school students randomly distributed into an Experimental (hybridization) and a Comparison Group, and their two teachers. A quasi-experimental study and a mixed quantitative-qualitative approach were followed. Those who experienced the hybridization showed significantly higher intrinsic motivation and lower disruptive behaviours. The analysis of teachers and students' responses produced four positive themes (enjoyment, autonomy, novelty, motivation), one negative (workload), and other mixing different feelings (uncertainty, relatedness, learning). Orienteering lessons were found capable of impacting positively on students. All students felt fully integrated into the class, promoting both models (Adventure Education and Cooperative Learning) and the content implemented (Orienteering) a shift in social hierarchies and equality among boys and girls.

Background: Research on pedagogical models in physical education has exponentially increased over the last two decades [Casey, A., and D. Kirk. 2020. "Models-Based Practice in Physical Education." London: Routledge]. Moreover, several literature reviews on the effectiveness of the different pedagogical models have been conducted. Due to the large amount of research conducted on pedagogical models, there seems to be a need to organize and evaluate the existing evidence to assimilate the main ideas, produce higher-level synthesis of evidence and provide a more solid identification of strengths, weaknesses and gaps of this methodological approach. Purpose: To critically examine what is currently known on pedagogical models to provide a broader and contemporary picture on their implementation conducting an umbrella review. This paper aimed to answer the following research questions: (RQ1) Which pedagogical models have been systematically reviewed? (RQ2) Which strengths have been observed? (RQ3) Which weaknesses have been perceived? (RQ4) Finally, which research gaps have been identified? Method: The protocol was registered at the International Platform of Registered Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis Protocols (INPLASY) with the number 202130025 and the DOI number 10.37766/inplasy2021.3.0025. Review studies met the following inclusion criteria: (1) Peer-reviewed journal articles (Journal Citation Reports) published and written in English before 31 December 2020, (2) included participants from elementary, middle and/or high school, (3) conducted in the physical education context, and (4) interventions studies implementing one, several or combined pedagogical models. Exclusion criteria were (1) Not review studies, and (2) Not about pedagogical models' implementation. Findings and conclusion: Seventeen review articles were identified, involving 22,109 students (elementary, middle, high school), 1050 teachers and 171 preservice teachers. Two hundred and nine studies involved Sport Education, 84 Games-Centred Approach, 74 Cooperative Learning, 48 Teaching Personal and Social Responsibility, and 23 hybridizations among pedagogical models. A comprehensive literature synthesis is presented on the different pedagogical models and their learning outcomes. Findings showed strong evidence supporting the effectiveness of pedagogical models' implementation to improve students' learning in the different domains (cognitive, social, physical, affective). Nevertheless, some weaknesses were also uncovered by the umbrella review: "length of the implementation", "time for skilful play", "struggle to implement pedagogical models", "poor performance of student-coaches" and "model fidelity". Teachers and researchers must be aware of these weaknesses uncovered to conduct intervention programs that can really work and produce the claimed outcomes. Finally, reviews also identified several gaps in our understanding of pedagogical models: "individuals with special educational needs", "girls", "low-skilled children", "the dynamics of the peer-teaching tasks", "body expression" and "individual sports", and "what happens after the initial unit of implementation". They are all discussed to provide guidelines and future lines of research.

El objetivo del estudio fue analizar los efectos del aprendizaje cooperativo como herramienta metodológica para la enseñanza de las matemáticas. Para ello se utilizó un diseño cuasi-experimental con grupos no equivalentes de estudiantes. Un total de 33 estudiantes pertenecientes a dos clases intactas de 2º de Educación Primaria accedieron a participar. Una experimentó un planteamiento basado en la metodología cooperativa (GE), mientras que con la otra se usó un planteamiento tradicional (GC). La valoración de los efectos de los distintos planteamientos se realizó de manera cuantitativa a través de un test de conocimientos matemáticos y de manera cualitativa a través de dibujos argumentados. Los resultados cuantitativos mostraron que el grupo-clase que trabajó cooperativamente alcanzó niveles más altos de rendimiento matemático, mientras que de los resultados cualitativos emergieron tres categorías positivas: diversión, aprender y trabajo en equipo y tres negativas solo en el GC: aburrida/cansada, difícil y mal comportamiento. El aprendizaje cooperativo parece ayudar a debilitar las percepciones negativas de los estudiantes hacia la clase de matemáticas.

Purpose: This paper aimed to examine moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) levels in physical education. Method: A review of reviews was conducted in accordance with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines. The screening process, data extraction, assessment of the risk of bias, and analysis of the results were carried out independently by two reviewers. A total of eight systematic reviews from six databases, which included 224 studies, involving more than 80,000 students (elementary, middle, and high school), enrolled in more than 450 schools worldwide were unpacked. Results: Students fail to meet the 50% recommendation of MVPA lesson time, irrespective of country, school stage, gender, or MVPA measures. Physical education-based interventions increased students' MVPA during lessons (range 14.3%-24%) compared with control groups. Conclusion: Physical education is uniquely positioned to provide physical activity opportunities for students, but teachers must target the provision of adequate MVPA levels, which is not currently happening.

The choice of optional physical education could be conditioned by personal elements, such as goals or motivation, or contextual, such as perceived teaching behaviour. The aims of this study were to analyse the differences between students who chose (or not) Physical Education and to determine to what extent goal orientations, motivational regulations, and perceived teaching behaviors predict that decision. A sample of 756 adolescents from 14 public centres in Valencian Region enrolled in second grade of high school (Mage 17.06, SD = 0.75), of which 422 were girls (55.8%) participated in the study. Students who voluntarily chose Physical Education presented a different motivational profile, scored higher in all approximation goals (and avoidance), intrinsic motivation, identified and introjected and lower in amotivation. They also showed a marked profile in the teaching styles perceived in the subject in the past (support for autonomy and structured). Finally, the factor that best predicted this choice was the participatory behavior perceived by the student (teaching style supporting autonomy), followed by the orientation of the goal of approximation-task, dominant behaviors (negative), and intrinsic regulation.

El presente estudio pretendía analizar la repercusión de mantener o no el distanciamiento físico sobre la satisfacción de las necesidades psicológicas básicas y la intención de hacer ejercicio de los alumnos de Educación Física en Primaria. Se empleó un diseño cuasiexperimental con mediciones previas y posteriores a los test. Participaron 149 alumnos (72 chicos, 77 chicas; de entre 9 y 12 años) de ocho clases de un colegio del norte de España (75 de 5.º curso y 74 de 6.º). Los datos obtenidos son el resultado de la comparación entre dos intervenciones educativas de ocho sesiones: una en el grupo experimental (n = 74), en la que se mantuvo en todo momento el distanciamiento físico, y otra en el grupo control (n = 75), donde se desarrollaron las mismas propuestas, pero no se mantuvo el distanciamiento físico. Se comprobó que ninguna variable se vio afectada por el mantenimiento del distanciamiento físico y, además, la satisfacción respecto a la competencia de los alumnos solo aumentó significativamente en el grupo que lo experimentó. Así, este estudio descubrió que, contrariamente a lo que se esperaba dado el carácter “social” del tema, el distanciamiento impuesto no tuvo efectos negativos a corto plazo.

IntroductionThis study aimed to determine the body accelerations (BA) profile of the judo contest of the male and female weight divisions and to ascertain the involvement of the vertical, mediolateral and anteroposterior axes in it.MethodsForty-eight male and forty-eight female national and international level athletes (some of them medalists in World, European and national championships) participated in a 5-min simulated contest (official fight time plus breaks) against an opponent of the same sex and weight division, wearing an accelerometer. Heart rate, blood lactate and ratings of perceived exertion were recorded to certify that the athletes performed the fullest.ResultsThe t2way test expressed differences in the athletes' BA (p = 0.001) and three profiles were identified: the light/middle weight male divisions, the light/middle weight female divisions and the heavy male and female ones. Athletes of all weight divisions performed their BA during the contest in all three directions (the one-sample Person's chi-square did not detect any significantly predominant one: p = 0.400, p = 0.631, p = 0.844, p = 0.749, p = 0.644 and p = 0.895, for male light, moderate and heavy, female light, moderate and heavyweight athletes, respectively). Monte Carlo method simulations suggested as the most likely scenarios those with BA involving all axes, with a slight preference of the anteroposterior and mediolateral ones.DiscussionThese results suggest that the demands on judo athletes in a contest differ between weight classes and sexes.

El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo identificar posibles perfiles de responsabilidad en estudiantes adolescentes y la relación de estos con variables prosociales, con la empatía, la violencia y la percepción de actividad física practicada. Se empleó una muestra de 296 estudiantes de diferentes centros educativos (138 chicos y 158 chicas) de edades entre los 10-17 años (M = 12.60; DT = 1.65) en los que se valoró la responsabilidad personal y social a través del Personal and Social Responsibility Questionnaire, las habilidades sociales con el Inventario de Habilidades Sociales para Adolescentes, la empatía por medio de la versión en castellano del Interpersonal Reactivity Index, la percepción de violencia escolar con el Cuestionario de Violencia Escolar Cotidiana y el nivel de actividad física percibida, así como el ejercicio físico practicado (Escala de AF comparativa y Physician-based Assessment and Counseling for Exercise). El análisis de perfiles confirmó un perfil con “alta responsabilidad” y otro perfil con “baja responsabilidad”. El MANOVA mostró valores significativamente superiores en las conductas prosociales, la empatía y la percepción de actividad física realizada en el perfil de “alta responsabilidad”. Fomentar estos valores podría ser clave para la mejora del clima de convivencia en los centros educativos y la promoción de un estilo de vida saludable.

El objetivo de este estudio fue analizar el impacto de un programa gamificado en las clases de Educación Física sobre las regulaciones motivacionales y las calificaciones de los estudiantes de secundaria en comparación con un planteamiento tradicional de enseñanza. La muestra se compuso por los 102 estudiantes de 4.º de ESO (16.7 ± 0.43 años) de un mismo centro concertado de la provincia de Barcelona, los cuales se dividieron en un grupo experimental (gamificación) (n = 51, 18 chicos y 33 chicas) y otro de comparación (planteamiento tradicional) (n = 51, 20 chicos y 31 chicas). El estudio siguió un diseño cuasi experimental, pretest postest (ocho semanas), a partir de la utilización de la Escala del Locus Percibido de Causalidad (PLOC) y el análisis de las calificaciones finales. Solo el programa gamificado logró cambios significativos en la motivación intrínseca, la desmotivación y las regulaciones identificada, introyectada y externa, aunque en mayor medida en la intrínseca. Estos estudiantes también obtuvieron unas calificaciones finales significativamente más altas. En definitiva, la aplicación de un programa gamificado como modelo pedagógico emergente puede generar efectos positivos entre el alumnado a nivel motivacional y de rendimiento académico.El objetivo de este estudio fue analizar el impacto de un programa gamificado en las clases de Educación Física sobre las regulaciones motivacionales y las calificaciones de los estudiantes de secundaria en comparación con un planteamiento tradicional de enseñanza. The aim of this scientific note was to provide a research overview about cooperative learning in physical education. A literature search was conducted in accordance with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. A total of 46 published articles from Web of Science (Social Science Citation Index and Science Citation Index Expanded) were examined. The results reported: (a) most of the articles were published in 2020 (10 articles), 2021 (9), and 2017 (7); (b) the majority of the articles described intervention studies (32); (c) most articles were published in Journal of Teaching in Physical Education (6), European Physical Education Review (5), and Physical Education and Sport Pedagogy (5), all located in quartile-1 in the latest Journal Citation Reports edition (2020); (d) most studies were conducted in Spain (15), UK (8), and USA (8); (e) the top-ten-cited articles received between 172 (1st) and 47 (10th) citations; (f) only 10 women signed as first authors (21.73%) and only one of them (10%) was among the top-ten-cited articles (10th position). In conclusion, evidence showed a growing expansion of research in this area, especially in intervention studies. However, this positive trend is not homogeneous with respect to geographical areas and the participation of women researchers.

El objetivo principal del estudio fue analizar si existen diferencias en las tendencias de acción (asertiva, agresiva y de sumisión) de mujeres deportistas en función del tipo de deporte que practican (contacto, no contacto). Las investigaciones sugieren que las participantes en deportes en los que no hay contacto físico con el adversario muestran un razonamiento más maduro sobre dilemas morales de tendencias de acción en el deporte que las participantes en deportes de contacto medio-alto. 272 mujeres deportistas (149 de deportes de no contacto físico; 123 de deportes con contacto físico) con edades comprendidas entre 11 y 16 años (M = 13.48, DT = 1.93) contestaron a tres cuestionarios. Se probaron diferentes modelos lineales generalizados y en todos ellos el tipo de deporte (contacto, no contacto) predijo las tendencias de acción asertiva y agresiva en el deporte en presencia de las tendencias de acción asertiva y agresiva en otros contextos (rasgo) y del estilo interpersonal del entrenador. Los resultados sugieren que el tipo de deporte practicado modela las tendencias de acción relacionadas con dilemas morales en mujeres deportistas.

This study examined women representation in editor-in-chief (EiC) position at physical education (PE) journals. A total of twenty-five PE journals were selected from Web of Science (Social Science Citation Index and Emerging Sources Citation Index) and Scopus. Each journal was classified based on indexation [Journal Impact Factor–Journal Citation Reports (JIF-JCR)/Journal Citation Indicator–Journal Citation Reports (JCI-JCR)/Scimago Journal & Country Rank (SJR)], subject category, quartile (ranking year 2020), region, language(s) and EiCs’ gender. Only five journals (20%) listed women as EiCs: Apunts Educación Física y Deportes (JCI-JCR-Q2, SJR-Q1, Spain), Educación Física y Ciencia (JCI-JCR-Q4, Argentina), Motriz. Revista de Educação Física (SJR-Q4, Brazil), Retos. Nuevas Tendencias en Educación Física, Deportes y Recreación (JCI-JCR-Q4, SJR-Q3, Spain), and South African Journal for Research in Sport, Physical Education and Recreation (SJR-Q4, South Africa). Gender disparities are evident in EiC position at the PE discipline. Gathering and reporting data on male-female representation in EiC position is a necessary first step to move towards a more equitable scientific community. A joint effort from editorial boards in PE journals must be done to address this gender gap. A more gender diversity in leading journals might create a publishing environment that can reduce bias in how papers are selected and approved in the PE discipline.

Introduction: The aim of this study was to analyze the network structure of physical activity, frequency, depressive, and affective symptoms in people under home isolation due to COVID-19. Method: A longitudinal study was conducted in two phases (beginning (March 19, 2020) and end of home confinement (April 8, 2020)). The sample consisted of 579 participants from Spain (250 men and 329 women) aged 16 to 92 years (overall sample: M = 47.06, SD = 14.52). A network analysis was performed. Results: Four clusters emerged (PA, depressive symptoms, positive affect, and negative affect). A higher frequency of physical activity was related to better-sustained attention, increased alertness, and enthusiasm. In addition, feelings of guilt and shame were mitigated, and confinement distress and irritability were reduced. Physical activity also mitigated fatigue in women, whereas feelings of unhappiness were reduced in men. Conclusion: Physical activity seems to be an effective option for mitigating the negative effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Public health policymakers should develop programs to promote physical activity in order to be able to cope with confinement or similar scenarios in the future.

El cierre de los centros educativos en España ha supuesto una adaptación inmediata sobre la forma de garantizar el aprendizaje. Los docentes han tenido que adaptarse de manera inmediata a un entorno digital de enseñanza y las familias han debido de atender con garantías a las tareas virtuales de sus hijos. El presente estudio tiene dos objetivos: a) analizar las variables relativas a la relación existente entre la familia, los centros educativos y los docentes, así como sus problemas para apoyar a los alumnos; b) analizar el efecto que tiene el modelo de enseñanza empleado por el docente en el seguimiento de la enseñanza virtual. Se ha utilizado una metodología cuantitativa con un diseño ex post facto descriptivo por encuesta, en el que han participado 3700 docentes y 5867 familias de todo el territorio español. Las principales dificultades se han encontrado en la falta de apoyo por parte de la administración y en la formación en competencia digital del profesorado. También ha quedado de manifiesto la necesidad de trabajar la autonomía y la autorregulación de los estudiantes y además existieron deferencias significativas en función del modelo de enseñanza (centrado en contenido versus en competencia) de los docentes.

El objetivo de este estudio fue examinar las percepciones del profesor, estudiantes y familias de una temporada de Educación Deportiva de quidditch-muggle. 52 estudiantes de 6º de Educación Primaria de un colegio participaron en la investigación. Se llevó a cabo un estudio de caso. Un profesor de Educación Física experto en el modelo de Educación Deportiva participó en el estudio y dirigió la temporada de quidditch-muggle (17 sesiones; 60 minutos por sesión, dos días a la semana). Finalmente, 45 familias, esto es un 86,52% del total de la muestra, aceptaron participar y proporcionar sus puntos de vista acerca de la experiencia de Harry Potter de sus hijos. Se utilizaron diferentes instrumentos de recogida de datos: diario del profesor, preguntas abiertas del alumnado, preguntas abierta de las familias y grupos de discusión del alumnado. Del análisis de datos se extrajeron cuatro categorías positivas: diversión, novedad, aprendizaje y autoconstrucción y una negativa: competitividad. El profesor, el alumnado y las familias destacaron la utilidad del modelo a pesar de la competitividad presente.

Los objetivos de este estudio fueron tres: (1) analizar los niveles de ira de las personas en función del grado de contacto en el deporte practicado, (2) examinar los niveles de ira en función del género, y (3) determinar posibles correlaciones entre la ira y la edad, los años, los días y las horas semanales de práctica. 398 personas (188 hombres y 210 mujeres) entre 16 y 35 años accedieron a participar: 148 competidores de deportes de contacto, 138 de deportes sin contacto y 112 no practicantes. Se llevó a cabo una investigación cuantitativa de tipo comparativa transversal. Se utilizó el Inventario de la Expresión de la Ira Estado-Rasgo. Los resultados mostraron diferencias significativas (p < 0,05) en el sentimiento de ira entre no practicantes y practicantes de deportes sin contacto, en la expresión verbal de la ira entre practicantes de deportes de contacto y sin contacto y en la reacción a la ira entre no-practicantes y practicantes de deportes de contacto. Asimismo, se hallaron diferencias significativas (p < 0,05) en las variables rasgo de ira, control interno de ira y expresión física de la ira en función del género. También se encontraron correlaciones negativas significativas (p < 0,05) entre la edad, días y años de práctica y la ira. Estos hallazgos señalan que los niveles de ira se ven afectados por la cantidad, intensidad y grado de contacto de su práctica deportiva, así como por el género. Abstract The aims of this study were three: (1) to assess individuals’ anger levels based on the contact in the sport, (2) to examine anger levels based on gender, and (3) to determine possible correlations between anger and age, years, days, and hours of practice. 398 individuals (188 males and 210 females) between 16 and 35 years agreed to participate: 148 contact-sport competitors, 138 contactless sport and 112 individuals who did not practice any sport. A comparative, transversal quantitative research design was carried out. The State-Trait Anger Expression Inventory was used. Results showed significant differences (p < 0,05) in anger feeling between no-practice and contactless sport athletes, in anger verbal expression between contact and contactless sport athletes and in anger reaction between no-practice and contact-sport athletes. Likewise, there were found significant differences (p < 0,05) in trait anger, anger control-in, and anger physical expression based on genre. There were also found significant negative correlations (p < 0,05) between age, days and years of practice and anger. These findings highlight that anger levels are affected by the amount, intensity and grade of contact of its practice, as well as gender.

La evidencia acerca del empleo de materiales autoconstruidos con uso pe - dagógico entre el alumnado de primaria, secundaria y formación inicial del profesorado ha apuntado consecuencias positivas. Sin embargo, hasta la fe - cha, esta investigación no se ha conectado a ningún marco teórico ni dirigido hacia los estudiantes del Máster de Profesorado. El objetivo fundamental de este trabajo fue analizar las creencias y actitudes de un grupo de estudiantes portugueses del máster de enseñanza respecto al uso de los materiales auto - construidos en clase de Educación Física, interpretando los resultados a la luz de la Teoría Construccionista de Papert. Una muestra de 98 estudiantes (59 varones y 39 mujeres) cumplimentó un cuestionario ad-hoc antes y después de asistir a un curso de formación centrado en el abordaje de la hibridación de modelos de enseñanza deportiva y material autoconstruido. La valoración de la experiencia resultó positiva y las comparaciones pretest-postest mos - traron mejoras relativas a la contribución de los materiales autoconstruidos para activar al discente, abordar la interdisciplinaridad, su potencialidad en actividades extraescolares y la evaluación. La idea imperante en la perspecti - va construccionista de facultar a los aprendices para que asuman su propio proceso de construcción de conocimiento tomó forma mediante la creación de sus propios móviles e implementos. Los estudiantes del máster declararon haber reforzado la construcción de su conocimiento interior tras generar artefactos en ambientes de aprendizaje social, y haber aumentado su interés y motivación. La experiencia parece despertar actitudes positivas hacia su empleo de cara al ejercicio profesional.

La violencia escolar es una realidad que está teniendo un fuerte impacto en el ámbito educativo. De ahí que el número de estudios que hay sobre este aspecto hayan crecido de forma importante en los últimos años. Por su parte, el papel importante del alumnado en clase cumple un rol fundamental para tratar de entender los procesos motivacionales en educación física. Sin embargo, aún existe carencia de trabajos que hayan explorado la relación entre estas dos variables. Por tanto, los objetivos principales de esta investigación fueron dos: analizar la capacidad de predicción del papel importante del alumnado en las clases de educación física sobre sus actitudes hacia la violencia, y determinar las posibles diferencias entre las actitudes hacia la violencia y el papel importante del alumnado en función del género. Un total de 917 estudiantes (457 mujeres y 460 hombres) de entre 12 y 18 años, procedentes de 11 centros (42 grupos naturales en total) de educación secundaria del norte de España participaron en el estudio. Los participantes cumplimentaron un cuestionario sobre las actitudes hacia la violencia y la subescala del papel importante del Cuestionario del Clima Motivacional Percibido en el Deporte-2 adaptado a la educación física. Se encontraron correlaciones negativas entre el papel importante del alumnado y las actitudes hacia la violencia. Asimismo, los resultados del análisis de regresión lineal mostraron que el papel importante del alumnado predecía de forma significativa y negativa las actitudes hacia la violencia. De igual forma, se encontraron diferencias significativas en función del sexo en las actitudes hacia la violencia. Estos resultados reflejan la importancia de crear climas de implicación a la tarea y centrados en el alumnado en aras de prevenir la violencia escolar y la discriminación de género.

El perfeccionismo en la adolescencia ha sido asociado a altos niveles de desajuste y trastorno psicológico y bajos niveles de bienestar subjetivo y ajuste psicológico. Pero, no todas las dimensiones del perfeccionismo son insanas y desadaptativas. Mediante un análisis path se exploró un modelo para determinar cómo son las relaciones entre las dimensiones del perfeccionismo (autoexigencia y presión externa), la afectividad (positiva y negativa) y la satisfacción con la vida, en el contexto de la educación física. Participaron 388 estudiantes de 1º a 4º de Secundaria (222 varones y 166 mujeres; M = 14.24 ± 1.45 años). La autoexigencia predijo de manera positiva y directa la satisfacción con la vida; el afecto positivo también medió esta relación. La presión externa predijo directa y negativamente la satisfacción con la vida, cuya relación fue también mediada por el afecto negativo. Los resultados confirman una dimensión saludable de perfeccionismo (autoexigencia) y otra no saludable (presión externa) en la adolescencia. Abstract Perfectionism during adolescence has been associated to high levels of psychological unbalance and distress, and low levels of subjective wellness and psychological adjustment. However, not all dimensions of perfectionism are negative and maladaptive. A path analysis was used to explore a model to determine the relations between two dimensions of perfectionism (Self-imposed and External pressures), affectivity (positive and negative) and life satisfaction in physical education. 388 1st to 4th secondary students (222 males and 166 females; M = 14.24 ± 1.45 years) agreed to participate. Self-imposed positively predicted life satisfaction, while positive affect mediated this effect. External pressures negatively predicted life satisfaction and negative affect mediated this effect. Results confirm a healthy dimension of perfectionism (self-imposed), and an unhealthy dimension (external pressures) in adolescence.

Se presenta una investigación sobre la teoría Construccionista del Aprendizaje en formación del profesorado. Se utilizaron dos técnicas de recogida de información: cuantitativa (encuesta) y cualitativa (entrevista) para intentar entender mejor su complejidad. 41 universitarios portugueses que cursaban la misma asignatura de Grado y el profesor que la impartía accedieron a participar. El análisis de los resultados mostró que los participantes valoran positivamente la construcción y el uso de materiales para el desarrollo de su formación académica y para su labor profesional futura. Estos resultados son similares a los encontrados en muestras de universitarios españoles, lo que refuerza la bondad de la Teoría Construccionista del Aprendizaje en formación docente.

Teachers search for instructional strategies that would allow them to optimize the existing time to maximize students’ learning. They are capable of perceive and retain only a limited amount of information. Therefore, the selection and transmission of critical information is one of the most important teacher roles to make students receive accurate data on the skill to learn. A learning cue could be defined as a short, precise sentence (even words) that portrays effectively the important elements of a task/ability. Students can remember them effectively in and out of the class. Learning cues can be introduced in different formats (verbal, non-verbal, motor, visual...) and they can be developed by the teacher or the student. Its use in peer-teaching and peer-assessment procedures allow students to verbal, motor and mentally rehearse all the critical information provided by the cues, while they practice or give feedback to their classmates

Este artículo analiza las características estructurales y funcionales de un grupo de actividades denominadas juegos de diana móvil. También trata de mostrar cómo se puede implementar y promover su inclusión en los centros educativos en el marco de TGfU (Teaching Games for Understanding) como una nueva categoría táctica de juegos. Representa un intento de ampliar la taxonomía de Almond (1986) para hacer más suave la transición hacia los grupos de juegos más complejos. Además, proponemos modificar los elementos estructurales de estos juegos deportivos como estrategia para ayudar a los profesores a dar forma a actividades lúdicas que se ajusten mejor al nivel de desarrollo de todo el alumnado. Centrándonos en la modificación del equipamiento, defendemos el uso de material autoconstruido como una herramienta para mejorar las posibilidades educativas de este tipo de juegos. Los motivos son múltiples: es fácil de crear, reduce el riesgo de causar daño a un oponente, y ofrece a los estudiantes la oportunidad de inventar juegos.
