Gossypiboma, a rare but serious surgical complication, refers to the retention of surgical textiles within the body following a procedure. This condition typically results in significant inflammation and acute pain, often necessitating further surgical intervention. We present a case involving a 35-years-old female who developed acute abdominal pain after 7-8 months after a caesarian section. Radiological imaging revealed the presence of a retained foreign body, which was subsequently confirmed and retrieved as large surgical sponges during a follow-up operation. This case underscores the importance of adhering to stringent surgical protocols to prevent gossypiboma, given its potential for high morbidity, mortality, and increased healthcare costs. Once unimaginable, fertility management is now a nationally established part of cancer care in institutions, from academic centers to community hospitals to private practices. Over the last two decades, advances in medicine and reproductive science have made it possible for men, women and children to be connected with an oncofertility specialist or offered fertility preservation soon after a cancer diagnosis. The Oncofertility Consortium's National Physicians Cooperative is a large-scale effort to engage physicians across disciplines - oncology, urology, obstetrics and gynecology, reproductive endocrinology, and behavioral health - in clinical and research activities to enable significant progress in providing fertility preservation options to children and adults. Here, we review the structure and function of the National Physicians Cooperative and identify next steps.

The current study sought to investigate the association between perceived stigmatization, locus of control, pro-social behavior, and psychological well-being of orphaned teenagers. A correlational research design was used, and a non-probability approach was used to recruit 100 adolescents aged 12 to 18 years from several orphanages. The perceived stigmatization subscale was anticipated to have a substantial association with psychological well-being. The theory also demonstrates a link between the locus of control and psychological well-being, as well as a link between pro-social activity and psychological well-being. To assess stigmatization, the Stigma Scale, the Locus of Control Measure, and the Psychological Wellbeing Scale were employed, respectively. The findings demonstrated a substantial link between perceived stigmatization (positive treatment, overcoming stigma) and psychological well-being. The results also demonstrated that the internal locus of control (Chance) has a highly substantial positive association with psychological well-being. Objective: To evaluate serum vitamin D levels in patients with vitiligo and compare them to the healthy controls. Study Design: Comparative cross-sectional study. Place and Duration of Study: Dermatology Outpatient Department, Fauji Foundation Hospital, Rawalpindi Pakistan, from Nov 2019 to Apr 2020. Methodology: The study included 75 patients with vitiligo (Group-1) and 75 healthy controls (Group-2). Complete blood count, urea and creatinine, liver function tests, TSH, fasting plasma glucose, vitamin B12 levels, serum calcium and vitamin D levels were performed. In addition, vitamin D levels were compared in both groups. Results: The mean age of Group-1 was 32.81±20.59 years, and Group-2 was 40.13±16.09 years. In Group-1, deficient vitamin D levels were seen in 17(22.7%) of cases, insufficient in 25(33.3%) and 33(44.0%) had normal levels. In Group-2, 10(13.3%) had deficient levels, 10(13.3%) had insufficient levels and 55(77.3%) had normal levels. Patients with vitiligo had low serum 25(OH)D levels compared to controls, and this difference was statistically significant (p=0.001). Objective: To evaluate serum vitamin-D levels in patients with Alopecia areata compared to healthy controls. Study Design: Comparative cross-sectional study. Place and Duration of Study: Dermatology Outpatient Department, Fauji Foundation Hospital, Rawalpindi Pakistan, from Nov 2019 to Apr 2020. Methodology: The study included 70 patients with Alopecia areata (Group-1) and 70 healthy controls (Group-2). Complete blood count, TSH, urea and creatinine, fasting plasma glucose, liver function tests, serum Calcium and vitamin-D levels were performed. Results: The mean vitamin-D levels of Group-1 were 38.28±22.07ng/mL, and the mean vitamin-D levels of Group-2 were 39.61±18.36ng/mL. In Group-1, deficient vitamin-D levels were seen in 14(20.0%) of Group-1, and insufficient in 19(27.1%) and 37(52.9%) had normal levels. In Group-2, 10(14.3%) had deficient levels, 16(25.0%) had insufficient levels and 44(62.9%) had normal levels. No statistically significant difference seen between Group-1 and Group-2. Tuberculosis is still prevailing in South Asian countries. Individuals affected by Mycobactrium Tuberculosis will have varied symptoms with the bacteria affecting lungs, GIT, CNS etc. Musculoskeletal system is also frequently involved by tuberculosis with most common site being lower dorsolumbar spine. The salient features of musculoskeletal system involvement being Pott's disease, compression collapse fractures resulting in kyphotic and gibbus formation. Formation of single or multiple cold abscesses is also not uncommon. Hazardous complication like compression upon spinal cord is also noted due to the abscesses. A 16-year-old female, referred to Radiology department in our setup, with known history of pulmonary tuberculosis. The patient had been on anti-tuberculous drugs for the past 1 year.
