Abstract

Abstract Lembang groundwater basin has an area of 209 km2. Increased tourism activities in the Lembang Groundwater Basin require sufficient groundwater resources to support the sustainability of these tourism activities. The purpose of this study was to analyze the hydrostratigraphy of the groundwater recharge zone of the Lembang groundwater basin in the Cikole-Lembang. Electrical Resistivity Tomography (ERT) with dipole–dipole electrode array and seismic refraction was used to analyze the hydrostratigraphy. The results of ERT and seismic refraction inversion show that Tangkubanparahu Pyroclastic Fall 2 can be characterized as aquifers. This layer consists of low (123–292 $$\Omega $$ Ω m) and intermediate (293–700 $$\Omega $$ Ω m) resistivity value and also has low (300–1350 m/s) to medium (2700–1350 m/s) velocity. Tangkubanparahu lava (Tl) layer has a high resistivity value (701–3875 $$\Omega $$ Ω m) and high (1350–2999 m/s) velocity. The Tangkubanparahu Pyroclastic Fall 1 has a resistivity of 300–700 ohms. Tangkubanparahu (Tl) lava deposits can be characterized as fracture aquifer and impermeable layers in the Tangkubanparahu volcanic hydrogeological system depend on the historical structural geology event.

2. Monitoring Child Growth and Development in Families at Risk of Stunting Using the Elsimil (Elektronik Siap Nikah dan Hamil) Application

Abstract

Bondowoso Regency have 14 priority communities by 2023 to accelerate stunting reduction, and Tamanan District is host to three of the fourteen villages. The objective of this community service is to implement the Elsimil application to track the growth and development of children from families at risk of stunting. This activity is an implementation of the Contextual Learning Model for Building Villages which integrated into the Pediatric Nursing Course. The team consists of 2 pediatric nursing lecturers and 34 nursing students. The methods used including monitoring children's growth and development, performing analyses, and educating families. Interviews, weight and height checks, developmental checks, and examination of family card records and KIA books are data collecting methods which then entered into the Elsimil program. This activity's population of interest is 31 families with children under the age of two in Tamanan District, devided into 3 villages: 9 children in Sumber Anom village, 11 children in Sumber Kemuning village, and the remaining 11 children in Kemirian village. This community service held in July-August 2023. Descriptive analysis is used in data analysis. Based on weight per age, 3.2% were severely underweight, 6.5% were underweight, 87.1% were normal weight, and 3.2% were at risk of being overweight. According to body length per age, 29% were severely stunted, 19.4% were short, and 51.6% were normal. A calculation of body weight per body length, 6.5% are extremely wasted, 3.2% are wasted, 64.5% are normal, 6.5% are at risk of being overweight, 3.2% are overweight, and 16.1% are obese. The results obtained based on body mass index per age were 3.2% severely wasted, 3.2% wasted, 64.5% good nutrition (normal), 16.1% at risk of overweight, 3.2% overweight, and 9.7% obesity. We conclude that this community service could optimize children monitoring and development by assisting stunted families through Elsimil application.

Abstract

Ultrasound (US) imaging is used as a preliminary diagnostic tool for the detection, risk-stratification and classification of thyroid nodules. In order to perform the risk stratification of nodules in US images physicians first need to effectively detect the nodules. This process is affected due to the presence of inter-observer and intra-observer variability and subjectivity. Computer Aided Diagnostic tools prove to be a step in the right direction towards reducing the issue of subjectivity and observer variability. Several segmentation techniques have been proposed, from these Deep Learning techniques have yielded promising results. This work presents a comparison between four state of the art (SOTA) Deep Learning segmentation algorithms (UNet, SUMNet, ResUNet and Attention UNet). Each network was trained on the same dataset and the results are compared using performance metrics such as accuracy, dice coefficient and Intersection over Union (IoU) to determine the most effective in terms of thyroid nodule segmentation in US images. It was found that ResUNet performed the best with an accuracy, dice coefficient and IoU of 89.2%, 0.857, 0.767. The aim is to use the trained algorithm in the development of a Computer Aided Diagnostic system for the detection, riskstratification and classification of thyroid nodules using US images to reduce subjectivity and observer variability

Abstract

Recently, a new homotopy invariant of metric spaces, called the distributional LS-category, was defined, which provides a lower bound to the classical LS-category. In this paper, we obtain several sufficient conditions for the distributional LS-category (dcat) of a closed manifold to be maximum, i.e., equal to its classical LS-category (cat). These give us many new computations of dcat, especially for some essential manifolds and (generalized) connected sums. In the process, we also determine the cat of closed 3-manifolds having torsion-free fundamental groups and some closed geometrically decomposable 4-manifolds. Finally, we extend some of our results to closed Alexandrov spaces with curvature bounded below and discuss their cat and dcat in dimension 3., Comment: 31 pages. Abstract

Research has been carried out using seismic refraction in the LIPI area - Bandung, which aims to determine the land of embankment in the area. Retrieval of field data was carried out using geometric Es-3000 tool along 46 meters with a spacing of 2 meters and a 7 shoot punch consisting of 2 phantom shoots beginning and ending. Data processing is done by the first step, namely by geometric editing so that data can be read by the computer. The inversion process is done by seismimager software which consists of pickwin to extract data and plotera for modeling the subsurface layer. The results of the data interpretation show the P wave velocity from 315 - 435 m / s. layer grouping based on P wave velocity is at the first color layer having a wave velocity of about 315 - 342 m / s, the second color layer has a wave speed of 355-382 m / s, and the third color layer has a speed of 359 - 422 m / s and thick layer more than 435. Based on the lithological classification of subsurface rock layers, this study area tends to have a layer of soil type with a depth of 5 meters, and can be said to be a layer of soil deposits because of the formation of soil structures that tend to be new

Abstract

The regional structure in Java Island, Indonesia, was influenced by the collisional activity of the Eurasian and Indo-Australian plates, which resulted from mélange rocks outcrops in Ciletuh. Ciletuh is one of the geotourism conservation areas included in the UGG (UNESCO Global Geoparks). This area is in the path of the Cimandiri Fault and the Sunda Strait Megathrust, resulting in a unique geological diversity and a place where the oldest rocks are exposed in West Java. In addition, the potential impact of seismicity on the Ciletuh geopark area is quite significant. The potential for seismicity can be analyzed and calculated. In this study, PGA (Peak Ground Acceleration) analysis on bedrock was conducted using the PSHA (Probabilistic Seismic Hazard Analysis) method. The data used for the PSHA method is in the form of background, fault, and megathrust provided by the National Earthquake Study Center (PuSGeN). This research shows that the PGA value in the Ciletuh Geopark area is influenced by how close it is to the location of the earthquake source. Pelabuhanratu Subdistrict has the highest PGA value based on all earthquake sources when combined.

Abstract

We develop the theory of the intertwining distributional versions of the LS-category and the sequential topological complexities of a space $X$, denoted by $\mathsf{icat}(X)$ and $\mathsf{iTC}_m(X)$, respectively. We prove that they satisfy most of the nice properties as their respective distributional counterparts $\mathsf{dcat}(X)$ and $\mathsf{dTC}_m(X)$, and their classical counterparts $\mathsf{cat}(X)$ and $\mathsf{TC}_m(X)$, such as homotopy invariance and special behavior on topological groups. We show that the notions of $\mathsf{iTC}_m$ and $\mathsf{dTC}_m$ are different for each $m \ge 2$ by proving that $\mathsf{iTC}_m(\mathcal{H})=1$ for all $m \ge 2$ for Higman's group $\mathcal{H}$. The results that is obtained from the Dominant method and the Maximin - Minimax method show that the optimal solution strategy obtained is 3, where 3 means explaining that the optimal solution from Xiaomi is the Price strategy (H), while Oppo with the quality strategy (K).

Abstract

Immune-mediated epilepsy (IME) constitutes a substantial proportion of drug-refractory epilepsies. Rapid diagnosis and prompt immunosuppression are required along with antiseizure medications (ASMs). Here we report three unrelated children who presented with fever, encephalopathy, and refractory epilepsy and subsequently tested positive for rare intraneuronal and surface receptor antibodies, namely, contactin-associated protein like 2 (CASPR2), glutamic acid decarboxylase (GAD65), and paraneoplastic antigen Ma2 (PNMA2). In all of them, brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) was noncontributory. Electroencephalography showed nonspecific interictal epileptic discharges. F-18 fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) positron emission tomography (PET) brain scan revealed abnormality in metabolic pattern with hypermetabolism in basal ganglia, thalami, frontotemporal cortices, and cerebellar hemispheres, consistent with autoimmune encephalitis. Immunosuppression was initiated along with ASMs. Complete seizure freedom was achieved in GAD65 antibody IME and >50% seizure reduction in CASPR2 and PNMA2 antibody IME. A variable degree of behavioral problems persisted in all. Early immunosuppression is warranted in IME, but does not universally guarantee a complete response. Abstract

We define a (non-decreasing) sequence $\{\mathsf{dTC}_m(X)\}_{m\ge 2}$ of higher versions of distributional topological complexity ($\mathsf{dTC}$) of a space $X$ introduced by Dranishnikov and Jauhari. This sequence generalizes $\mathsf{dTC}(X)$ in the sense that $\mathsf{dTC}_2(X) = \mathsf{dTC}(X)$, and is a direct analog to the classical sequence $\{\mathsf{TC}_m(X)\}_{m\ge 2}$. We show that like $\mathsf{TC}_m$ and $\mathsf{dTC}$, the sequential versions $\mathsf{dTC}_m$ are also homotopy invariants. Also, $\mathsf{dTC}_m(X)$ relates with the distributional LS-category ($\mathsf{dcat}$) of products of $X$ in the same way as $\mathsf{TC}_m(X)$ relates with the classical LS-category ($\mathsf{cat}$) of products of $X$. On one hand, we show that in general, $\mathsf{dTC}_m$ is a different concept than $\mathsf{TC}_m$ for each $m \ge 2$. Abstract

We define a new version of Topological Complexity (TC) of a space, denoted as $\text{dTC}$, which, we think, fits better for motion planning for some autonomous systems. Like Topological complexity, \text{dTC} is also a homotopy invariant. Also, $\text{dTC}$ has a corresponding analog, denoted as $\text{dcat}$, to the Lusternik-Schnirelmann category (cat). In this paper, we do computations and estimates for both $\text{dTC(X)}$ and $\text{dcat(X)}$ for some spaces $X$ as well as a comparison with $\text{TC(X)}$ and $\text{cat(X)}$.

Abstract

This report introduces a new family of multimodal models, Gemini, that exhibit remarkable capabilities across image, audio, video, and text understanding. The Gemini family consists of Ultra, Pro, and Nano sizes, suitable for applications ranging from complex reasoning tasks to on-device memory-constrained use-cases. Evaluation on a broad range of benchmarks shows that our most-capable Gemini Ultra model advances the state of the art in 30 of 32 of these benchmarks - notably being the first model to achieve human-expert performance on the well-studied exam benchmark MMLU, and improving the state of the art in every one of the 20 multimodal benchmarks we examined. We believe that the new capabilities of the Gemini family in cross-modal reasoning and language understanding will enable a wide variety of use cases. We discuss our approach toward post-training and deploying Gemini models responsibly to users through services including Gemini, Gemini Advanced, Google AI Studio, and Cloud Vertex AI.

Abstract

Iris recognition systems, operating in the near infrared spectrum (NIR), have demonstrated vulnerability to presentation attacks, where an adversary uses artifacts such as cosmetic contact lenses, artificial eyes or printed iris images in order to circumvent the system. At the same time, a number of effective presentation attack detection (PAD) methods have been developed. These methods have demonstrated success in detecting artificial eyes (e.g., fake Van Dyke eyes) as presentation attacks. In this work, we seek to alter the optical characteristics of artificial eyes by affixing Vanadium Dioxide (VO2) films on their surface in various spatial configurations. VO2 films can be used to selectively transmit NIR light and can, therefore, be used to regulate the amount of NIR light from the object that is captured by the iris sensor. We study the impact of such images produced by the sensor on two state-of-the-art iris PA detection methods. We observe that the addition of VO2 films on the surface of artificial eyes can cause the PA detection methods to misclassify them as bonafide eyes in some cases. This represents a vulnerability that must be systematically analyzed and effectively addressed.

27. Involvement of Teachers in Inclusive Schools for Quality Learning Design and Quality Student Learning

Abstract

Developing quality learning in inclusive schools is an essential issue for educators. Several aspects that need to be considered to create quality learning in inclusive schools are assessment, lesson planning, good classroom management, learning materials and media development, implementation of accessible education using appropriate technologies and evaluation. These aspects are essential parts that must be appropriately addressed to produce quality learning. This study uses a mixed explanatory sequential design. Quantitative research instruments were used to collect data from 100 teachers on teacher involvement in quality learning in inclusive schools. The results of this study describe the condition of teacher performance in inclusive schools in developing quality learning. Involvement and collaborative efforts between teachers appear below. In this case, knowledge is more of a differentiating factor determining who does what in the learning and design process, while the universal learning rules are still not being fully implemented. This condition may influence the quality of learning for students with disabilities. It is hoped that future research will examine teachers' attitudes and increase their efforts in developing quality learning for students with disabilities. Moreover, the principles of implementing UDL need to be integrated into the inclusive education curriculum in Indonesia.

Abstract

The blood supply chain is a complex, integrated system, involving multiple echelons that requires optimization to obtain optimal solutions. This study develops a mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) model for blood supply chains with multi-echelons including donors, blood centers, and hospitals. The model also considers multiple blood products, vehicle routing, and transshipment between blood centers, with the aim of minimizing the total costs of the blood supply chain. The results of the computational model indicate that there is a significant relationship between the number of blood centers and the total cost of the blood supply chain. In addition, the volume of blood products distributed between blood centers is inversely proportional to the volume of blood products produced in each blood center.
