The changes in geopolitical and ecological conditions brought about the need to use environmentally friendly sources of vehicle power. This impacted the accelerated activities related to the use of hydrogen fuel in transport means. Based on the observations carried out in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, it was found that the process of implementing hydrogen-powered vehicles in public transport is connected with difficulties faced by transport companies with regard to the purchase of these transport means. This study aims to analyse the conditions for making decisions regarding the implementation of hydrogen-powered buses in urban transport. A case study was considered, and the factors influencing the decisions related to the application of hydrogen-powered buses in Poland were analysed. The survey method was used to carry out the research. A questionnaire was developed, and the survey was conducted among representatives of transport companies that provide public transport services in Polish cities. As a result of the research, it was found that city authorities play a key role in deciding on the implementation of hydrogen-powered buses. The highest ranks among the proposed criteria influencing the decision on the purchase of hydrogen-powered buses were the economic ones. The concerns and benefits resulting from the potential purchase of hydrogen-powered buses were also examined. It was revealed that the decision to buy buses is most influenced by factors such as ensuring access to hydrogen and its price. Modern cities are focused on the implementation of the assumptions of sustainable transport development. They invest in modern solutions and intelligent technologies that improve the mobility of residents and reduce energy consumption and pollution emitted by means of transport. This article deals with issues of smart urban mobility and carsharing, in particular, as one of the examples of the implementation of sustainable transport policy. The objective of this article is a comparative analysis of the pace of development of the carsharing markets in Poland and Germany. The analysis is carried out using statistical and comparative analysis methods. In addition, for a complete presentation of the problem raised, a literature analysis is performed. The research area covers two countries, Poland and Germany, from which ten cities for each are selected for analysis. In addition, to achieve the assumed objective, we also present the basic assumptions of smart mobility and solutions used in cities, and then determine the increase in the number of cars driving in the carsharing system. In addition, the factors influencing the change in transport patterns of urban residents are analyzed, and the importance of modern communication technologies in the development of carsharing systems is emphasized. The results of the analysis can be used as a tool to support the decisions of city authorities in the field of transportation management and, in particular, the implementation of carsharing systems. They also present the dependencies of the spread of this solution in a given urban space. The issues discussed in this article concern the basic assumptions for the sustainable development of public transport in cities. We discussed the need and direction of changes that occur in public transport that were referred to both users and transport organizers in cities. To this end, we characterized the activities which encourage urban residents to use forms of urban transport and the limitations of commuting via individual transport. The purpose of this article was to determine the main directions and areas of development of public transport in Szczecin. In addition, we also presented the solutions applied in the city transport system aimed at making it sustainable. In addition, an attempt was made to determine the impact of selected solutions on residents' transport behaviors. The survey research method was used to examine societal opinions and expectations regarding public transport. We also approximated the basic investments that have been implemented to make transport more sustainable and the activities for the development of electromobility. Future research directions on the sustainability of transport in the city, and especially on limiting vehicular traffic, were also discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The aim of the article is to present and analyze major groups of factors that are considered by companies when selecting a logistic operator, and to demonstrate how a given factor influences the quality of performed tasks. It systemises factors and analyses more closely those which are currently of biggest importance in the process of time and costs optimization in logistic processes from the point of view of both a logistic operator and a customer. Single crystals of lithium-sodium-tetragermanate, a member of the solid solution series LiNaGeO with x=0.28, pure and slightly doped with Cr ions (0.03 mol.% and 0.1 mol.%), were grown in ambient atmosphere by the Czochralski technique from stoichiometric melt. The crystals with dimensions up to 20 mm in diameter and 50 mm in length were obtained. The crystal structure has been determined by means of X-ray diffraction. Phase analysis and structural refinement of the LiNaGeO crystals were performed by X-ray powder diffraction using Ni-filtered Cu K α radiation with a Siemens D5000 diffractometer. The absorption, excitation and photoluminescence spectra of the crystals were measured in the UV-VIS and IR range at low temperatures. EPR investigations were performed using a conventional X-band Bruker ELEXSYS E 500 CW-spectrometer operating at 9.5 GHz with 100 kHz magnetic field modulation. Temperature and angular dependences of the EPR spectra of the crystal samples were recorded in the 3-300 K temperature range. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The degradation process of thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) such as monolayered La 2 Zr 2 O 7 , composite 50% La 2 Zr 2 O 7 + 50% 8YSZ, and double-ceramic layer (DCL) La 2 Zr 2 O 7 /50% La 2 Zr 2 O 7 + 50% 8YSZ/8YSZ was investigated. Coatings were deposited using the atmospheric plasma spraying (APS) process (ceramic layer and bond-coat) on the Ni-based superalloy substrate with Ni-22Cr-10Al-1Y bond-coat. The thickness of the ceramic top-coats in all cases were 300 µm. In the case of La 2 Zr 2 O 7 /8YSZ, the internal sublayer was built from 8YSZ powder whereas the outer from La 2 Zr 2 O 7 . Between both sublayers' "composite" a 50% La 2 Zr 2 O 7 + 50% 8YSZ zone was present. The "composite" 50% La 2 Zr 2 O 7 + 50% 8YSZ TBC system was sprayed from two different feedstock powders with equal weight ratios. In the first part of the investigation, the microstructural characterization of the TBCs was presented. The main goals were related to the characterization of the degradation processes in different TBC systems with special emphasis on the phenomenon in the thermally grown oxide (TGO) zone related to oxidation, and the phenomenon related to phase stability in ceramic top-coats as related to temperature influence. The oxidation test was carried out in air at 1100 °C for 500 h. In the second step of the investigation, the numerical simulation of the monolayered TBC 8YSZ and La 2 Zr 2 O 7 systems was analyzed from the stress distribution point of view. Additionally, the two-layered TBC coating of the DCL type was also analyzed.
