9. Evaluation of Clothing Comfort Properties Using the Cycloergometer Test.

Abstract

The aim of study was to present an evaluation of sports underwear under different conditions and applying two measurement techniques. The test was performed on a ergometer simulating real conditions of wearing clothes. Moreover, the material parameters of knitted fabric selected were evaluated according to standards. The utility tests performed by the ergometer allow one to assess fabric under the action of the human thermoregulation mechanism. and therefore such tests more effectively characterise the article under testing. Test results of the underclothing micro-climate of sports underwear showed a statistically significant dependence on the person participating in the tests. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

15. Assessment of a Fabric Surface after the Pilling Process Based on Image Analysis.

Abstract

This study presents the principles of a new method of assessing a pilled fabric surface, especially knitted fabric surfaces. The basis of the method developed consists in analysing a knitted fabric surface after the pilling process by using colour digital images (RGB model). Application of the RGB model for the images acquired allows to differentiate pilling and fuzzing changes more effectively and precisely. Analytical techniques make it possible to conduct a digital analysis of images of pilled fabrics and then to obtain a certain grade of the pilling value conforming to the standards. At this stage of the research, the analytical methods used to assess the pilling process are being improved to obtain more precise effects. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
