Inclusion body myositis is part of the group of inflammatory myopathies, representing 30% of this group of diseases, and is considered an orphan disease because its estimated prevalence is less than 5 per 10,000 inhabitants. It produces weakness and atrophy of the proximal and distal muscles. The pathophysiological mechanisms are mainly autoimmune, inflammatory, and degenerative. The cases are presented of two female patients who came to : the emergency department due to progressive loss of upper and lower limb strength, and progressive asymmetric muscle weakness. RESUMEN La miositis por cuerpos de inclusión forma parte del grupo de las miopatías inflamatorias, de las que representa el 30%; es considerada una enfermedad huérfana, ya que se estima que su prevalencia es menor a 5 por cada 10.000 habitantes. Produce debilidad y atrofia de los músculos proximales y distales. Los mecanismos fisiopatológicos son principalmente autoinmunes, inflamatorios y degenerativos. Se presentan 2 casos de mujeres, quienes acudieron a urgencias por pérdida progresiva de la fuerza en miembros superiores e inferiores, con debilidad muscular asimétrica de curso progresivo.

La presente investigación se base en la premisa de que en la elaboración del Plan Colombia existieron dos versiones: la primera presentada por el presidente Andrés Pastrana al presidente Bill Clinton en 1998 (Plan Colombia I) cuya prioridad era lograr la paz con las FARC-EP y como consecuencia derivada de la misma, re-direccionar la política antidrogas, es decir, primero la paz, luego el narcotráfico; y la segunda, firmada por el presidente Clinton en 2000 (Plan Colombia II), priorizaba la lucha contra el narcotráfico para quitarle recursos a la guerrilla y fortalecer al Ejército para establecer una correlación de fuerzas más favorable para el Estado, es decir, primero el narcotráfico, luego la paz. El análisis se centra en el papel que el gobierno de Colombia desempeñó en el tránsito de Plan Colombia I a Plan Colombia II. Mucho se han publicado sobre el Plan Colombia y predomina la visión de que fue una imposición unilateral de EEUU a Colombia, siguiendo la noción generalizada de las relaciones asimétricas del país grande y poderoso sometiendo al país pequeño y débil para favorecer sus intereses hegemónicos. Por lo contrario, la presente tesis argumenta que el gobierno colombiano ejerció un grado significativo de iniciativa que incidió de manera determinante en la elaboración de la versión final del Plan Colombia, mediante la construcción y reconstrucción de narrativas predominantes y compartidas acerca del conflicto colombiano y las vías de solución. El interés del gobierno colombiano, que al comienzo se centró en darle prioridad al proceso de diálogo con FARC-EP con el objetivo estratégico de involucrar a EEUU como actor de paz, luego, tras las presiones de los militares, se volcó hacia el fortalecimiento de las Fuerzas Armadas, expresado en el objetivo estratégico frente a EEUU de obtener la mayor cantidad de asistencia militar, que se logró por encima de los obstáculos y limitaciones de la política exterior estadounidense posguerra fría, en el marco de la relación asimétrica, controvirtiendo la noción prevaleciente de la subordinación absoluta de Colombia frente a EEUU. (Texto tomado de la fuente) The present research is based on the premise that in the making of Plan Colombia there were two versions: the first one, presented by President Andres Pastrana to President Bill Clinton in 1998 (Plan Colombia I) whose priority was to achieve peace with the FARC-EP and as a consequence of such, redirect antidrug policy, that is, peace first, then drugs; and the second one, signed by President Clinton in 2000 (Plan Colombia II), which prioritized counternarcotics so as to deprive the guerrillas of their resources in order to establish a more favorable balance of power on the battlefield, that is first drugs, then peace. The analysis focusses on the role that the Government of Colombia played in the transition from Plan Colombia I to Plan Colombia II. Much has been published on Plan Colombia and the prevailing view is that it was unilaterally imposed upon Colombia by the US, following the generalized notion of asymmetric relations by which the big and powerful nation subjects the small and weak nation in order to further its hegemonic interests. On the contrary, the present thesis argues that it was the Colombian Government that took the initiative and successfully lobbied in the drawing up of the final version of Plan Colombia, by way of constructing and reconstructing the shared and prevalent narratives regarding the Colombian conflict and its resolution. The interest of the Colombian Government, which at first focused on dialogue with FARC-EP, with the strategic objective of involving the US as an actor of the peace process, later, giving in to pressure from the Military, shifted to strengthening the Armed Forces, expressed in the strategic objective of obtaining from the US the greatest amount of military assistance, which was achieved by overcoming the obstacles and limitations of post-Cold War US foreign policy, in the framework of an asymmetric relation, disputing the prevailing notion of the absolute subordination of Colombia to the US. This article presents the SmartFC web platform, a tool aimed at teachers, which supports the implementation of the flipped classroom model even in conditions of low or no connectivity. This proposal introduce the use of open educational resources but also proposes a learning activity to be designed or reused by each teacher under the flipped classroom model, in addition to propitiating the creation of more participative and collaborative classes
