BACKGROUND One aspect of AI that has gained significant attention is natural language processing (NLP) which refers to the ability of computers to understand and generate human language OBJECTIVE This study aimed to examine the potential and concerns of using Artificial Intelligence (AI) in scientific research by generating high-impact research articles by analyzing the quality of articles generated by ChatGPT and assessing its impact on research framework, data analysis, and literature review. The study also explored concerns around ownership and integrity of research when using AI-generated text. METHODS Four articles were generated using ChatGPT and evaluated by 23 reviewers. The researchers developed an evaluation form to assess the quality of the articles generated. Additionally, 500 abstracts were generated using ChatGPT and evaluated for their quality. The data were analyzed using ANOVA and thematic analysis to analyze the qualitative data provided by the reviewers. RESULTS Using detailed prompts with the context of the study would generate high-quality research that can be published in high-impact journals. However, ChatGPT had a slight impact on developing the research framework and data analysis, with the main improvement needed in developing the literature review. Moreover, concerns around ownership and integrity of research when using AI-generated text were highlighted. Nonetheless, ChatGPT has a high potential in increasing human productivity in research and can be used in academic writing. CONCLUSIONS AI-generated text has the potential to improve the quality of high-impact research articles, and the study recommends changing the research template to focus only on research methodology and data analysis in-depth, which can be the trend for the next generation of research in the AI era.

The importance of Open Educational Resources (OERs) is increasing globally as well as in Arab countries. Its initiatives are broadened and awareness of its importance is growing. The importance of OERs for Palestinian peoples is greater than the rest of the world because it carries broad hopes and promising solutions to their major problems in education, such as scarcity of educational content and poor financial resources allocated to purchase it. The Palestinian education system is a good system and the adult literacy rate is high (91%), Palestinians are one of the most educated population in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. There is an increasing need for OERs in the sense of the need for content, where the access content requires big effort, expensive, and long time. While OERs can be obtained for free with little time and effort. The official Palestinian policies regarding OERs movement are modest and inadequate, in addition to a weak infrastructure controlled by Israel. At the university and institution level, there are efforts to change the reality, they need more work. While these universities and institutions have large published resources, but they need to change the policies and licenses of these resources in their digital libraries, databases, and repositories from closed access to open access. It is critical to carry out awareness campaigns on the importance of creating, using, and sharing OERs. Happily, there are Massive amounts of OERs that could be translated from other language into Arabic. In addition, these resources could be further enhanced and customized to meet the needs of Palestinian education.

Obviously, digital technology offers simplified solutions to solve or mitigate problems in general. In the academic sector in particular, the field training is one of the core courses that students must enroll during the third and fourth academic year, where the students have manually to select a relevant organization or institution based on their specialization. The academic staff and hosting institutions do not supervise the trainees as required due to lack of communication between them, wrong selection of the hosting institutions by students in some cases, limited following-up the trainees, thus leading to uncertainty in the number of training hours and reports required by students. These problems can be addressed or mitigated by proposing an electronic training system improving the communication between supervisors of field training, host institutions, and trainees and thus solving most of the mentioned problems. Based on this e-training system, the training unit at the university could therefore follow-up the trainees and thus improve the communication and cooperation with the training institutions. It will also definitely contribute in improving the training task itself for the students. In this proposed paper, the importance of the proposed system was presented. Other related systems were mentioned and used as references in the analysis stage. In the analytical stage, data was collected using 3 different questionnaires developed for students, supervising staff, and for the training institutions. Consequently, obstacles and problems faced these entities were extracted and mentioned. Finally, a preliminary design was proposed in this paper to develop and implement an electronic training system at Palestine Ahliya University.

The purpose of this study is to explore and analyse the user experience (UX) of Arabic educational and entertainment applications designed for children aging 8–10 years. This paper reports the results of an experimental study conducted on a sample of 53 children in two elementary schools in Qalqilya and Nablus, Palestine. The context of the current study is different from previous studies that were conducted in a western environment in terms of knowledge, awareness, demographic changes and background variables. Qualitative methods captured the enjoyable and attractive parts of the software being used. The qualitative content analysis showed that participants’ enjoyment using the system was quite different. During sessions, children showed much excitement and interest while working with the math app more than the science app. However, girls were less interested to use the math application compared with their use of the device itself. Following Hassenzahl’s model, the descriptions of UXs were also categorised into two categories: pragmatic and hedonic; the functionality, technical and ease of use aspects of UX of both the tablet and the math application were categorised as pragmatic. Enjoyable, exciting, confusing and upsetting experiences were categorised as hedonic. Male participants were more familiar with the use of mobile devices than female participants. The results of the present study showed that gender, culture and religion are important factors that affect children’s experience to use new technological devices since three female participants were reluctant to use the tablet especially due to cultural and religious factors.

Nowadays the most used applications are the web based applications, for instance long range informal communication, shopping, e-learning, banking and social networking are all an examples of web based applications. It is commonly known that these Web applications are publicly available for all users around the world. This leads us to new challenges in securing these applications and exposing them to many Web-based attacks, one of the most common attacks is SQL injection (SQLi) which has a big impact on Web applications back-end databases, SQL injection working principle is by injecting a malicious code in SQL statements that can give hackers unauthorized access to the back-end database. In this paper, we make an overview of SQLi in addition; we take a look at some of the recent approaches that aims to prevent this type of attack. Then we propose a novel approach that is based on hashing using the fast and secure SHA-1 algorithm and syntax-awareness then we make a comparison between our solution and the surveyed solutions, our efficient approach was able to prevent all types of SQLi attacks and it did not fail in any situation.

The effectiveness of education and training system is a feature of developed societies, consequently education is always looking for new learning tools to improve the process of learning and teaching and increase its effectiveness. Currently, digital technologies of computer and internet open wide opportunity for using it to improve the education and learning as well as training. The rapid change in education systems, methods and techniques in the world including the Arab world, requires those who are interested to follow these developments, and to draw plans to integrate modern technologies in the educational and training system. Needless to say, the institutions that fail to cope with this era will be doomed to extinction. This study aims to know about the reality of educational usage of digital technologies in the Arab country to know its types, the cooperation of educational and training institutions in the Arab World for providing it, and the cooperation of the students to detect difficulties and obstacles and to find available solutions. This study aims at clarifying the role of educational institutions within the information technology, identifying the study problem, objectives, its importance, as well as the sample and community, and determining its fields, limitation, terminology, approach, tools and its procedures. Furthermore, it presents some related previous studies with some discussion, and then views and analyzes the results of the study, the discussion and finally it concludes and implies for further research.
