At the beginning of 2020, the world as we knew it changed and it is quite certain that no one could have predicted the extent of those changes and how long they would last. The COVID-19 pandemic has imposed ad-hoc operations on business organizations in a challenging environment in all fields. The tasks of human resource management were to adapt and respond to radical changes that occurred both in the workplace and on the social level. On the other hand, the employees were worried about the uncertainty that was omnipresent. The aim of the conducted research and the results presented in the paper refer to the importance of flexibility in the choice and manner of working hours, as well as the willingness of employees to change jobs after the pandemic. An overview of the situation on the market in Serbia is given, all with the aim of adapting and benefiting employees in the current working environment.

Introduction: Drug Reaction with Eosinophilia and Systemic Symptoms Syndrome is a rare and severe form of drug induced delayed-type hypersensitivity reaction with mortality rate up to 10%. It usually manifests with skin rash, fever, lymphadenopathy, hematological abnormalities and involvement of one or more internal organs. Establishing the diagnosis is sometimes late due to variable clinical presentation. Current recommendations for therapy rely mainly on expert opinions, retrospective studies, case reports and series. Sulfasalazine was firstly synthesized in 1930 and is currently being prescribed for various inflammatory and rheumatic diseases. Case report: We present a 45-year-old patient who was prescribed sulfasalazine tablets by a rheumatologist due to reactive arthritis. In the fourth week of therapy, he developed skin rash and fever up to 39.5°C. On admission, generalized maculopapular exanthema covering over 60% of the body surface area, edema of the lower eyelids and bilateral cervical and inguinal lymphadenomegaly were registered. Intensive care units (ICUs) are expert hospital areas that provide treatment and 24 h care for people who are very sick. Sepsis represents a serious, severe condition and it can lead to septic shock and multiple organ dysfunction syndromes and is one of the most common reasons for patients’ hospitalization in ICUs. We wanted to explore the prognostic values of interleukin (IL) 33, soluble suppression of tumorigenicity 2 (sST2), IL 27, and galectin 3 in critically-ill patients. We assumed that these parameters in combination or alone could predict mortality in ICU patients. This research represents a clinical non-randomized prospective study, performed at the Medical Military Academy, a tertiary care hospital in Belgrade, Serbia. The patients were divided in four groups: patients with sepsis (peritonitis, pancreatitis, trauma) and patients without sepsis (trauma). Total number of patients enrolled in the study was 151 and average years of patients were 56.48. The values greater than the cut-off were the predictors of mortality. The IL-33, IL-27 as well as galectin-3 can successfully predict the outcome of critically-ill patients in ICUs. The sST2, cannot predict death in critically-ill patients as a single prognostic factor. However, the combination of at least two biomarkers: IL-33, sST2, IL-27, and galectin-3, gives very significant results in predicting the outcome in patients admitted to ICUs.

The aim of this paper is to review and summarize the theoretical and empirical facts of using the (BMI), (body mass index) in determining the relationship between body constitution and motor skills. Several key circumstances have been identified in which the body mass index can give erroneous information about the actual body composition, and especially about the amount of adipose tissue in the body. Factors such as age, sex, race, health status and muscle mass can influence the connection between(BMI) and body fat. Due to a relatively low coefficient of determination between (BMI)and percentage of body fat, one should be cautious when using (BMI) to evaluate body composition as a predictor of obesity or as a substitution measure in evaluating the influence of body constitution on the efficiency of motor performances. The analysis of the sources indicates that the existence of unexplained facts uses alternative measures of body composition and their limited use in research and direct training practice. Therefore, new concepts and models are necessary in order to explain the influence of body composition on the efficiency of motor performance. Apart from the necessary evaluation of variables of percentages of fatty and muscle tissues, it could be assumed that the application of two component (BMI) = (FFMI+FMI), (Fat Free Mass Index, Fat Mass Index) and/or (MFR) model (Muscle to Fat Ratio) would provide a better comprehension of these relations.

Social network account audit is an independent review of social network activities to express a professional opinion on the fulfillment of objectives, business compliance, and information security of orders on social networks. It is in principle a voluntary activity and is not subject to legal obligation like some other types of audit such as the audit of financial statements. However, this does not diminish its fundamental importance, which is reflected in the fact that in situations where the other party is entrusted with the management of accounts on social networks, there is a gap in expectations that should be mitigated by performing a professional and independent review that will result in an objective and professional opinion. Therefore, the issue of contracting the social network account audit is exciting, especially given the sensitivity of the data being audited and the specific status of the parameters for logging into the account whose disposal must be subjected to strict treatment to ensure the safety of account holders. The subject of this paper is the analysis of aspects of contracting the audit of orders on social networks through the analysis of contracting parties and elements of the subject of contracting. The paper's main conclusion is that auditing is a sensitive topic that should be given additional attention and focus during preliminary social network account audit activities.

Introduction. Late metastases of malignant tumors in the temporal bone are very rare lesions. They can be asymptomatic for a long time and usually manifest them-selves in the form of hearing loss, dizziness, tinnitus, and paralysis of the facial nerve. Modern radiological diagnostics and explorative surgery with biopsy are essential for diagnosis. Case report. We present a rare and unusual case of a 66-year-old female patient with facial nerve paralysis that appeared as the first sign of metastatic breast cancer in the temporal bone 10 years after treatment. A sudden hearing loss and dizziness occurred six months later, and the value of CA 15-3 was elevated. Scintigraphy pointed to susceptible metastatic deposits of the axial skeleton without lesions in the temporal bone. Finally, repeated computed tomography revealed osteolytic changes in the temporal bone six months after that. Immunohistochemical analysis of mastoid tissue samples confirmed that it was a breast cancer metastasis. One year after palliative radiotherapy and oral hormone therapy, a patient had a good general condition with a better function of the facial nerve. Conclusion. A high degree of clinical suspicion sometimes requires repeated radio-logical diagnostics in order to detect osteolytic metastatic changes in the temporal bone but also in other bone structures within the hematogenous dissemination of the malignant disease.

Background/Aim. Development of allergic contact der-matitis as a complication of treatment of chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) is well known. The aim of this study was to determine the incidence and risk of eczematous contact sensitization in patients with CVI, as well as the correlation between disease duration and contact sensitization. Methods. The study involved 266 subjects examined during three-year-period who were divided into two groups: the study group included patients with CVI referred for allergy testing due to suspected contact dermatitis, and the control group included the ones without CVI patch tested for suspected contact dermatitis. The severity of CVI was assessed by Clinical Etiology-Anatomy-Pathophysiology (CEAP) classification. Thereafter, each patient underwent patch testing. Results. The incidence of contact sensitization among patients with CVI was 49.3%. In these patients, the incidence of contact sensitization to the European standard battery of allergens was 31.55%; to the battery specific for CVI it was 28.45%. Patients with CVI had a 2.45-fold higher risk for developing contact sensitization to two or more allergens, and a 3.69-fold higher risk for developing contact sensitization to five or more allergens compared to those without CVI. The prevalence of contact sensitization in patients with CVI was not significantly different from those without CVI. There was a positive correlation between the incidence of contact sensitization and the duration of the disease. Conclusion. Patients with CVI had no statistically significantly distinct contact sensitization prevalence and had 2.45 and 3.69 times higher risk to manifest contact sensitization to two and more allergens and five and more allergens, respectively, than patients with no CVI. The positive correlation between frequency of contact sensitization and disease duration was found.

The aim of this paper is to analyse descriptive and causal factors of basketball development in Serbia, particularly following the country's independence (2006) to this day. The paper presents the development path of "the game under two elevated hoops", since its arrival to Belgrade in the 1920s, through the challenges and successes in various state communities, since the State of Slovenes, Croats and Serbs (1918-1929), the Kingdom of Yugoslavia (1929-1945), the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (1945-1992), the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (1992-2003), the State of Union of Serbia and Montenegro (2003-2006), to the Republic of Serbia. The paper shows the participation in the Yugoslav basketball, as well as the events that marked the period of full independence of the Republic of Serbia. The results of the national teams are shown, including the contribution of the national basketball organization .The analysis has included the condition of senior and age categories, coach and referee organizations. Serbian basketball has shown originality in creating Yugoslav basketball, with continuing to be successful also in the independent country, which gives credibility and justifies the marketing and promotional campaigns of the national basketball federation that Serbia is the country of basketball.

Background/Aim. Congenital malformations still represent one of the most important causes of prenatal and infant death. The study aim was to analyze occurrence, outcomes and risk factors of different types of congenital anomalies. Methods. The study included all pregnant women directed to Clinic of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Clinical Center of Serbia, Belgrade due to prenatally diagnosed congenital fetal anomalies during past ten years (January 1, 2008–December 31, 2017). Upon admission to our Clinic a detailed general medical and obstetrical history were taken from every patient. All women underwent genetic testing. Ultrasonography and magnetic resonance were diagnostic methods for fetal malformations confirmation. Results. The study included 773 pregnant women aged from 18 to 46 years. Out of registered nine different groups of fetal anomalies/malformations, the most common were malformations of the central nervous system, while majority of fetuses had combined multiple anomalies. Genetic cause for congenital anomalies was present in 25.2% of pregnancies. Medical pregnancy abortion was performed in 71.8% of cases. Only 10.2% of pregnancies ended in term. The best outcome for children was obtained in case of gastrointestinal anomalies (52% live born). Contrary, only one child with neck and thorax malformations could be saved. According to logistic regression the most important predictor of having a child with combined multiple anomalies was mother’s age, while predictor of central nervous system anomalies was gestational diabetes. The significant predictor of genetic anomalies was mother’s age. Conclusion. In our sample neurological congenital anomalies were the most common, although abnormalities of all organ systems were registered. Majority of pregnancies had to be discontinued due to combined multiple anomalies caused by genetic disorders. Older mother’s age and diabetes can imply on the increased risk for fetal malformations.

During the period of ten weeks, a study has been conducted on the effects of a complex training method on the maximal isometric muscle force, its peaking time, and the rate of force development in the semi-squat test. The participants of the study were twenty junior basketball players (average age 16.4+/-0.7; mean body height 186.2cm+/-9.2; mean body weight 75,4+/-7.5kg; mean body fat percentage 12,83%+/-1.15). The participants were divided into experimental (n=10) and control group (n=10). The experimental group, besides technical-tactical training sessions, had additional complex training, while the control group had technical-tactical training sessions only. At the final testing, the results of maximal isometric muscle force and the explosive power index, have significantly improved in the experimental group, while the control group did not make significant progress. There were no significant changes in the maximal isometric muscle force's peak time at the final testing. The study findings indicate that application of the complex training method has positive effects on the development of maximal isometric force, and the rate of force development.

CASE REPORT A well-demarcated 18 x13 x 16 cm (H x W x L) mediastinal mass with lobulated contour and heterogeneous attenuation was demonstrated on computed tomographic (CT) images of an 11.5-year-old female Labrador Retriever crossbred dog admitted with a history of coughing, polyuria and polydipsia. After intravenous contrast administration, faint, non-uniform enhancement of the mass was noted. The mass was in contact with the parietal pleura, aortic arch, pulmonary trunk and right atrium, but no signs consistent with invasion of the adjacent structures were evident. The mass was surgically excised and absence of any intrathoracic visceral invasion was confirmed. Histopathologically, the mass was reported to be a thymoma. DISCUSSION CT findings and invasiveness of thymomas in eight other cases found in the literature are included and discussed in the present report. CT is useful for demonstrating the invasiveness of a thymoma in dogs. Invasion of the mediastinal blood vessels should be considered a CT feature of invasiveness, but false-positive and false-negative diagnoses do occur. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: The use of alternative treatment methods, particularly medicinal herbs from the family Compositae, significantly contributes to the increase in the incidence of allergic contact dermatitis among patients with chronic venous insufficiency. Objective: Estimating frequency of contact sensitization among patients with chronic venous insufficiency and determining the most common contact sensitizers from the series of bio-origin allergens from the Compositae family and ubiquitous weeds of Vojvodina. Materials and Methods: The total number of 266 patients with suspected contact dermatitis was divided into two groups: the experimental group consisted of patients with chronic venous insufficiency (EG), and the control group consisted of patients without chronic venous insufficiency (CG). All subjects were tested with allergens of biological origin from the family Compositae, screening allergen SL-mix and original extracts of ubiquitous weed plants of Vojvodina. Results: Patch test revealed a positive reaction to allergens of the Compositae family in 6.69% in the experimental group, and in 4.17% in the control group. The standardized response rate to the SL-mix in the experimental group was 2.07%, while in the control group, it was 1.51%. The presence of a positive reaction to at least one extract of ubiquitous weed plants of Vojvodina was determined in 6.11% in the experimental group, and in 3.23% of patients in the control group. No statistically significant difference in response rates was found between the examined groups. Conclusions: Establishing the diagnosis of Compositae dermatitis can be supplemented by additional testing with weed plant extracts from a specific geographical area, resulting in the detection of novel unknown allergens.

The fair value within the business improvement in the enterprises of the Republic of Serbia is continuing demanding work that is carried out in the framework of financial reporting management companies, sectors of economy, but the national authorities may require a completely evaluation of companies, based on the decisions of state bodies and individual requirements. An important place in this context have the internal audit, external audit, as these can be a driver of the fair value of the initial phase by the management council. External audit is able to thinking management delivered only after the end of the business year, when it receives the financial statements of the previous year of business, and then can make recommendations, because through their impact on future business management, provided that it is adopted, it will be is maintained in the next period of operation. Therefore regardless of the drivers and the initiator of the fair value now exist ways to increase the security of the overall business, and in this paper highlighted the fair value as an element of financial reporting. It is expected to increase the number of effective fair value in the Republic of Serbia, because companies can realize numerous benefits.

The aim of this study was to identify several morphological characteristics and speed-strength abilities in basketball players aged 10 and 11, and to determine possible differences between them, connected with their age. The research was conducted on a sample of 84 young basketball players aged 10 (N=46) and 11 (N=38). The following motor variables were measured: shoulder explosiveness (throwing the ball from basketball position), leg explosiveness (vertical jump), speed strength of the trunk (sit up exercises in 10 seconds), stamina in speed strength of the trunk (sit up exercises in 30 seconds), the speed of changing the direction of moving (agility T-test), acceleration (running for 5 and 20 meters). The following morphological variables were also measured: body height, body mass, percentage of body fat and percentage of muscle tissue. With the help of the 94Fifty technology we were able to analyze the three-point shot. We were curious to know whether the majority of the shots are recommended by the manufacturer of the measuring system and carried out in preplanned intervals of entry angles, the rotation of the ball, and the release time of the ball, and we wished to find out the consistency of the aforementioned parameters between the guards and other players. The hypotheses were tested on a sample of 52 great male basketball players, aged 18 and 19. We deducted that most of the shots from the distance of 6.75 m occur under a entry angle greater than 42°, but not in the estimated interval (between 42° and 48°); that most of the shots do not occur in the estimated interval of the rotation of the ball (from 130 to 150 revolutions/minute); and that most of the shots do not occur in the estimated interval of the release time (< 0.7 seconds). When it comes to the consistency of the before mentioned parameters we did not find any discrepancies between the guards and other players. Based on the results a question arises: did the manufacturer of the measuring system adequately form the intervals of the aforementioned parameters or does the problem lie in the performance of the shots by the chosen players?.

The aim of this survey was to examine the ability of acceleration and the agility of basketball players. The survey was conducted on a sample of 35 professional Bulgarian basketball players (average age 21.37 ± 2.91 years) who competed in the First Bulgarian Basketball League and were divided into two groups depending on the position of the game: inner players - N = 13 and outer players - N = 22. They were chosen by experts as the best national players in the league. Two tests were applied: 20 meter run (acceleration - T20m) and T-test (agility - TT). During the 20 - meter run test, the running times of five (T5m) and 10 meters (T10m) were measured. In addition, body height (BH) and body mass (BM) were measured. Inner players were significantly taller and heavier than the outer players, but no statistically significant differences were found between the two groups of players in the acceleration and agility variables, having in mind that on all the tests outer players achieved better results. High correlations were found between three acceleration variables (T5m, T10m and T20m) and one agility variable (TT) - correlation coefficients of .666 to .819 at the significance level of .01.The correlations between body height and acceleration variables are medium - correlation coefficients of .306 to .383, at the significance level of .05, while the correlation coefficients between body mass and these variables are slightly higher .350 to .415 at the significance level of .01, or .05.

Although metastases to the paranasal sinuses are exceedingly rare, when they do occur, renal clear cell carcinoma is the most frequent primary tumor involved. The aim of this work was to present a case of metastatic clear cell renal carcinoma in the frontal sinus and orbit region, 7 years after the initial diagnosis and treatment. The patient was referred to our clinic due to drooping of the left eyelid and displacement of the left eyeball. Computed tomography revealed an expansive lesion in the left frontal sinus and orbit, causing destruction of its anterior, lateral, and roof walls. Profuse bleeding from the tumor and left orbit hindered a comprehensive assessment of tumor extension into the orbit and residual tumor size. Therefore, complete tumor removal was not possible; instead, reduction was achieved. Subsequent histopathologic and immunohistochemical analysis confirmed the lesion as a metastasis of renal cell carcinoma in the sinonasal tract. Unfortunately, 10 weeks later, the patient passed away. Treatment of metastatic clear cell renal carcinoma depends on the localization of the disease as well as the overall condition of the patient. If there is a solitary metastatic lesion, as in the case of the sinonasal region, surgical treatment is recommended. Metastasis of clear cell renal carcinoma to the sinonasal region is a rare occurrence; however, it is essential to consider it in cases of rapidly growing tumor masses, typically presenting with symptoms such as epistaxis and nasal obstruction., Competing Interests: The authors report no conflicts of interest., (Copyright © 2024 by Mutaz B. Introduction: The prevalence of potential drug-drug interactions (pDDIs) is becoming a major safety concern, as it has been previously linked to a significant number of adverse drug events and could have serious consequences for patients, including death. This is especially relevant for patients with chronic renal failure, as they are particularly vulnerable to drug-drug interactions. The aim of this study was to evaluate the prevalence and associated factors of pDDIs in patients receiving chronic peritoneal dialysis., Methods: An observational, cross-sectional study was conducted on consecutive peritoneal dialysis patients attending four tertiary care hospitals for regular monthly examination. The primary outcome was the number of pDDIs identified using Lexicomp. Potential predictors were determined using multiple linear regression., Results: Total number of patients included in the study was 140. The results showed that pDDIs were highly prevalent, especially in patients who use antiarrhythmics (p = 0.001), have diabetes mellitus (p = 0.001), recently started peritoneal dialysis (p = 0.003), or have higher number of prescribed drugs (p &lt; 0.001). Number of prescribed drugs (p &lt; 0.001) remained a significant predictor of high-risk pDDIs in addition to the female gender (p = 0.043)., Conclusion: Clinicians should be particularly cautious when prescribing multiple medications to high-risk patients, such as peritoneal dialysis patients, to mitigate the risk of drug-drug interactions and associated adverse health outcomes., (© 2024 S. Background and Objectives : Ulcerative colitis is chronic and/or progressive inflammation of the colorectal mucosa and submucosa and represents one of two major inflammatory bowel diseases. Ulcerative colitis has been associated with increased risk of arteriosus and venous thrombosis. There are numerous factors responsible for this; one of them is platelet activation and aggregation. The objective of our study was to determine if different treatment options for ulcerative colitis have an impact on platelet aggregation. Materials and Methods : This research was a prospective, observational study and included 94 newly diagnosed patients with UC divided into four treatment groups. For all patients, we measured platelet aggregability by using an impedance aggregometry method with a multiplate analyzer before and after treatment with infliximab, adalimumab, vedolizumab and azathioprine. A Paired Samples t test was performed in order to determine the difference in platelet aggregability before and after a certain therapy, since the data followed a normal distribution. Taking into account the impact of some clinical characteristics, multiple linear regression was conducted for the purpose of estimating the effect of therapy on the level of reduction in platelet aggregability. Results : All four drugs significantly reduced platelet aggregability. After we excluded the influence of clinical and endoscopic scores and disease localization on the results, we found that infliximab had the greatest anti-platelet activity. Conclusions : In addition to the well-known traditional risk factors for atherosclerosis, activation and aggregation of platelets play a significant role in the development of arterial thrombosis, and our results suggested that therapy use for the treatment of UC, especially infliximab, can have a great impact on cardiovascular morbidity and mortality by decreasing platelet aggregability.

Juvenile nasopharyngeal angiofibroma is a rare and highly vascularized tumor that accounts for 0.05 to 0.5% of all head and neck neoplasms. The aim of this work was to present a case of a large recurrent juvenile nasopharyngeal angiofibroma coexisting with a facial lipoma in a 16-year-old boy. The patient was referred to our institution because of frequent unilateral epistaxis. Computed tomography revealed a hypervascular tumor with ethmoidal cell destruction and spread to the nasopharynx. Operative treatment of nasal cavity tumors was carried out using a transpalatal approach. After 6 months, the recurrence of the angiofibroma was verified radiologically. Primary as well as secondary surgical procedures were assisted with an endoscopic procedure. Accurate preoperative assessment and staging are essential for choosing a surgical procedure. The primary treatment is surgical excision. Background : Serratia marcescens (SM) is a Gram-negative pathogen discovered by Italian pharmacist, Bizio, in 1819. According to the literature, S. marcescens is resistant to a wide range of antibiotics, including penicillin, cephalosporin, tetracycline, macrolide, nitrofurantoin, and colistin. We conducted a systematic review of published reports, determined what invasive infections could cause SM, and established the most appropriate antibiotic therapy. Methods : We registered this systematic review on the PROSPERO registry of systematic reviews-meta-analyses before we started our research (registration number CRD42022323159). The online searches of published studies were implemented via MEDLINE, the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, EBSCO, Scopus, Google Scholar, SCIndex, and the registry of clinical studies of human participants (ClinicalTrials.gov). Results : Our study included 32 published articles (9 case series and 23 case reports). There were 57 individual cases, respectively. The oldest patient was 97 years and the youngest patient was a newborn. S. marcescens was, in most cases, isolated from blood followed by urine and cerebrospinal fluid. In most cases, sensitivity was tested to cotrimoxazole (from 27 isolates, 10 showed resistance) followed by gentamicin (from 26 isolates, 3 showed resistance) as well as amikacin (from 21 isolates, none showed resistance). Patients died from an infection in 21 cases (31%). Conclusions : Treatment of SM infections should include carbapenems or aminoglycosides in combination with third-generation (and eventually fourth-generation) cephalosporin. Cotrimoxazole should be considered in cases of uncomplicated urinary infections.
