Self‐efficacy beliefs have cyclical nature as they enhance performance and performance, in turn, influences subsequent self‐efficacy beliefs. Likewise, teacher self‐efficacy is proposed to shape teaching quality which, in turn, informs future teacher self‐efficacy beliefs. To examine these associations, longitudinal studies are needed but are still sparse. Therefore, the present research employed a three‐wave longitudinal design to examine the predictive effects of teacher self‐efficacy on teaching quality as well as the predictive effects of teaching quality on future teacher self‐efficacy by using data from large samples of secondary school teachers (N = 1030) and their students (N = 17,381). Teachers self‐reported their efficacy for student engagement, efficacy for instructional strategies and efficacy for classroom management whereas students rated the teaching quality (i.e., cognitive activation, classroom management, and student support) of their teachers. The results of the multilevel structural equation modelling showed that all three dimensions of teacher self‐efficacy predicted teaching quality but teaching quality, in turn, predicted only teacher efficacy for student engagement. These results suggest that efforts in raising teacher self‐efficacy may show fruitful in raising overall teaching effectiveness. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

EDIBLE insects ,PERCEPTION (Philosophy) ,FOOD of animal origin ,HEALTH literacy ,INSECT food - Abstract
Simple Summary: Climate change is one of the drivers of change towards sustainable food systems food security. Therefore, food security is a priority all around the world and across different sectors of society. Edible insects are recommended as a sustainable source of food of animal origin, but their acceptance is very diverse across cultures and countries. Therefore, our work investigated the perceptions of consumers about edible insects in 14 countries. We concluded that depending on origin, the level of knowledge is different, which is a starting point to design more focused campaigns to promote EIs, not only in non-insect-eating countries, but also in insect-eating countries. Better knowledge about the health effects of EIs and their nutritive value is a driver of change. Insects have been consumed for time immemorial in many regions of the globe. However, in other parts, they are not traditionally eaten. Because they are a more sustainable source of animal protein and provide valuable nutrients as well as bioactive compounds with beneficial effects on the human body, their consumption is encouraged. Knowledge can serve as a tool for better acceptance of insects as food. In this context, the present work investigated the knowledge about the nutritional value and health effects of edible insects in different countries. Data were collected by employing a questionnaire survey translated into the different languages of all participating countries and were treated using statistical tools. A total of 7222 responses were obtained. The results indicated that for many issues, the participants manifested a neutral opinion (neither agree nor disagree), but the participants who manifested agreement/disagreement were generally well informed. They were also able to identify untrue facts and answer accordingly by disagreeing. Factor analysis showed four groups of questions: nutritive value, negative perception and risks, safety and benefits of insects and contamination and harmful components. Finally, significant differences were observed according to the sociodemographic variables studies (sex, age, education, living environment and country), with age and country being the most influential of the sociodemographic factors on knowledge. Therefore, increasing knowledge is envisaged as an essential factor in augmenting the recognition of edible insects as a nutritional food, presenting health benefits apart from being a more sustainable source of animal protein when compared with beef or pork meats. self-efficacy ,job satisfaction ,teachers - Abstract
Research goals and why the work was worth doing Although longitudinal associations between self- efficacy and professional wellbeing indicators have been investigated previously, studies that separate stable individual differences in these constructs from changes that occur within individuals over time are still scarce. Therefore, in the present research, we tested the random- intercept cross lagged panel model (RI-CLPM) and investigated the relationship between teacher self-efficacy and job satisfaction at between- person level (by examining whether teachers with higher levels of self-efficacy are in general more satisfied with their job) and within-person level (by examining whether teachers who report higher than typical levels of self-efficacy are also satisfied with their job more than expected at a single time point and across time points). In addition, since teacher self-efficacy is multi- faceted construct (i.e., efficacy for student engagement, efficacy for instructional strategies, and efficacy for classroom management), we tested these relationships for each dimension of teacher self-efficacy separately to examine its possible differentiated effects. Theoretical background The shortage of teachers is a problem faced by many countries around the world. Research shows that attrition rates for teachers in the first five years in the profession are as high as 50% (Buchanan et al., 2013 ; Lindqvist et al., 2014). Strategies aimed at reducing teacher attrition are largely focused at increasing job satisfaction, considering its established relation with the decision to leave the profession (Klassen & Chiu, 2011 ; Kelly et al., 2019). Teachers’ self-efficacy is considered to be one of the most important factors affecting teachers’ job satisfaction - teachers with low levels of self-efficacy tend to be dissatisfied with their jobs, which increases the likelihood of leaving the teaching profession (Evans, 2001 ; Ingersoll, 2001). Design/Methodology/Approach/Intervention In total, 1141 teachers (881 females) with an average teaching experience of 15.88 years (SD = 9.13), employed in 73 secondary schools in Croatia, participated in a longitudinal study with a full panel design. Teachers filled out an online questionnaire four times within a school year with a time lag of 2.5 months. Participation in the study was voluntary and anonymous and responses of teachers from different time points were matched based on specially created self-generated codes. To account for nestedness of teachers within schools and possible bias in estimates of standard errors, the RI-CLPM was tested with the TYPE IS COMPLEX option in Mplus. Results obtained The results showed that stable parts of all three dimensions of teacher self-efficacy and job satisfaction were positively correlated implying that teachers with higher levels of efficacy for student engagement, instructional strategies, and classroom management also tend to be more satisfied with their job. Regarding the time- specific associations, we found that teachers with higher than expected levels of self-efficacy at a given time point, also reported higher than expected levels of job satisfaction. Finally, we established longitudinal spill-over effects from efficacy for student engagement and instructional strategies to job satisfaction, showing that teachers with higher than usual levels of self- efficacy at one time point are also more satisfied with their job at subsequent measurement occasion. However, no such effects were found for efficacy for classroom management. In addition, longitudinal effects from job satisfaction to self-efficacy were not established. Our results point to the importance of examining different aspects of teacher self-efficacy separately and highlight the causal predominance of self-efficacy construct over job satisfaction while exploring its dynamic relationship. Limitations Common method bias may have occurred given that self-efficacy and job satisfaction were both measured using self-ratings. Also, although large, a convenience sample of participants was used. Conclusions – research and or practical implications/Originality/Value Given that higher levels of teacher self-efficacy are related to higher level of job satisfaction, it is necessary to develop and implement different methods and strategies to increase self-efficacy among teachers. Relevance to the Congress Theme As the world of work changes, so does the teaching profession. Changes in the teaching profession result in lower job satisfaction and leaving the profession, which is a problem that many countries around the world are facing. Relevant UN SDGs UN SDGs relevant to this paper are (3) Good health and well-being, (4) Quality education and (8) Decent work and economic growth.

teachers ,personality facets ,teaching quality - Abstract
Teacher personality domains have been recognized as important factors for teacher effectiveness. However, empirical evidence on associations of lower levels of personality hierarchy with teaching effectiveness is still scarce. Thus, in the present study, we investigated the relationships between teacher self-reported personality at the facet level and student-reported three basic dimensions of teaching quality–cognitive activation, classroom management, and supportive climate. In a large-scale study, 1, 043 Croatian secondary-school teachers (81.8% female) gave self-reports on their personality, while 18, 673 (59.3% female) of their students rated the teaching quality. A multilevel analysis showed differentiated pattern of relationship between facets of the Big Five domains and dimensions of teaching quality (e.g., Compassion and Trust, but not Respectfulness, were positively related to supportive climate) indicating distinct importance of personality facets in explaining teacher performance. In addition, most of the established effects remained significant even after controlling for an acquiescent response style.

Big Five ,personality facets ,teacher efficacy ,incremental predictive value - Abstract
Teacher personality traits have been recognized as important factors for shaping teaching effectiveness. However, less is known about the role of personality in explaining teacher self-efficacy beliefs. Moreover, to provide more accurate predictions of relevant teacher outcomes and to better understand mechanisms underlying trait-outcome relationships, it is important to take a more fine-grained approach and to explore the incremental value of personality facets over global personality domains. Therefore, we collected data on Big Five personality dimensions (i.e., Extraversion, Agreeableness, Conscientiousness, Negative Emotionality, and Open-Mindedness) and efficacy beliefs (i.e., efficacy for student engagement, efficacy for instructional strategies, and efficacy for classroom management) from 1069 Croatian high-school teachers. We tested the domain-incremental facet-acquiescence bifactor model (Danner et al., 2021), which allowed disentangling the domain-level variance, incremental facet-level variance, and item-specific variance, but also specifying the personality factors as orthogonal domains. The results showed that all Big Five domains were independently related to the analyzed efficacy dimensions. More specifically, higher levels of all Big Five dimensions, except the Negative Emotionality, were related to higher levels of teacher efficacy beliefs. Moreover, personality facets demonstrated unique and differentiated associations with teacher efficacy beliefs with the strongest effects regarding efficacy for student engagement and efficacy for classroom management. These findings suggest that specific personality facets have incremental predictive power over and above global personality domains in predicting relevant teacher outcomes such as their self-efficacy beliefs.

nastavnici ,ličnost ,domene i facete Velikih pet ,profesionalna dobrobit - Abstract

mračna trijada, BAS, BIS, preuzimanje financijskog rizika - Abstract

Emociju gađenja prate i druga negativno valentna stanja.

Machiavellianism, Mach-IV, Scale validation, Croatian adaptation - Abstract
Structure of the Mach-IV has not been formally tested in Croatia yet. In order to do so, we gathered data from 384 students (M = 21.02, SD = 2.86, nwomen = 206) at the University of Zadar. Participants filled in Croatian MACH-IV (six-point Likert type scale ; -3 strongly disagree, 3 strongly agree). Based on the literature review, model fit of the five models was tested using CFA: one factor model, two factor model (views/tactics), three factor model (Christie & Geis, 1970), three factor model (Beller & Bosse, 2017), and four factor model (Corral & Calvete, 2000). Analyses were conducted under WLSMV estimator in Mplus. Because none of the models satisfied the criteria (CFI > .90, RMSEA < .08), EFA (WLSMV, geomin) was performed. Results paralleled model proposed by Beller & Rose (2017), but with zero and cross loadings. Findings give further support for the measurement limitations of the Mach-IV.

Unutarnja pouzdanost skale mjerena Cronbach alpha koeficijentom jest zadovoljavajuća: α = .72. Rezultati provedenih analiza ukazali su na zadovoljavajuća psihometrijska svojstva hrvatskog prijevoda Skale financijske samoučinkovitosti.

Mračna trijada ličnosti, financijski rizik, bihevioralni aktivacijski i inhibicijski sustav, vjerovanje u osobnu sreću - Abstract

education ,Dark triad, BAS/BIS, SD3 - Abstract
Relation between dark triad traits and behavioral activation (BAS) and behavioral inhibition system (BIS) has not been explored in Croatian scientific literature, while results of worldwide studies have been mixed. Having this in mind, our goal was to bring this topic in Croatian scientific community and to further validate results of the previous studies. On-line study was done on the sample of 146 participants from general population. As a measure of the dark triad SD3 scale was used (Jones & Paulhus, 2012, Kristofich Ambruš et al., 2013). Behavioral activation and inhibition system were measured by BIS/BAS scales (Carver & White, 1994, Križanić et al., 2015). After controlling for age and gender, machiavellianism emerged to be positively related to behavioral inhibition system. Machiavellianism was also a positive predictor of BAS reward-responsiveness and BAS-drive. Narcissism seemed to be a positive predictor of BAS-drive and BAS fun-seeking.

SD3, Dark Triad, ESEM - Abstract
Factor structure of the SD3 in Croatian sample was tested by Kristofich-Ambruš, Krapić & Bratko (2013), who confirmed its three factor solution using exploratory factor analysis. However, to prove three factor model, one has to test it with the more powerful statistical method, that is more suitable for the multidimensional inventories. Additional need for the testing stems from the fact that in the study of Kristofich-Ambruš et al. (2013) some items showed zero loadings, especially on the narcissism factor. On-line study was done on 146 participants from the general population. SD3 (Jones & Paulhus, 2012, Kristofich Ambruš et al., 2013), with the replacement of one psychopathy item, following recommendations of Jones & Paulhus (2014), was used. ESEM confirmed expected model. However, zero loadings were present for four out of nine narcissism items. Model indices suggested adequate fit for alternative model and increase in narcissism internal reliability was present. Small sample size and on-line method of data collection have to be taken as shortcomings of this research. Before giving final conclusion on SD3 factor structure in Croatian sample, research that will utilize bigger and diverse samples is needed.

“Dark” triad model of personality has produced great number of research on different outcomes so far. One of the explored outcomes is financial risk taking and results of the studies done so far bring different conclusions about the role of the “dark” triad personality in financial risk taking because of the methodological differences in the approach to research. In this study, we wanted to validate results of the previous studies and to check for potential mediation influence of the constructs that can be both empirically and theoretically related to the “dark” triad personality and financial risk taking. These are behavioral activation and inhibition system and belief in personal good luck. Furthermore, since no research so far explored if the relation between the “dark” triad personality and financial risk taking depends on the level of stakes, and no research checked if the same mechanisms underlie relation between financial risk taking and “dark” triad personality at the different stake levels, we decided to additionally explore these questions. On-line experiment was done on 114 participants from general population. Results showed that “dark” triad personality is not related to financial risk taking, regardless of the stake level. Additionally, only dimensions of the behavioral activation and inhibition system showed to be related to greater financial risk taking, but this effect diminished when relevant sociodemographic and personality variables where controlled for. Only subclinical psychopathy emerged to be related to difference in financial risk taking between different levels of stakes. People who score higher on this dimension risk less when stakes are high, comparing to the situation when stakes are low. This effect is a direct one and activation of both behavioral activation and inhibition system and personal belief in good luck is not related to this difference.

the three domains of disgust scale, moral disgust, morality judgments - Abstract
The debate on the role of the emotion of disgust in moral reasoning is a prevalent topic. While some see disgust only as avoidance mechanism toward pathogen infection, others believe it evolved in the domain of moral reasoning. On the assumptions that anti-social violations lead to avoidance of violators through disgust activation, Tybur et al. (2009) created a moral subscale of The Three Domains of Disgust Scale (TDDS). According to authors people report disgust when social norms are violated and relate it to morality violations. Our aim was to check is the relation between disgust and immorality present for this subscale and does it hold when the influence of other affective states is regressed out. It is known that negative-valence states (anger, sadness, fear, repulsion, contempt) influence estimates of immorality and it has also been shown that disgust ratings on this subscale can be affected by anger and general unpleasantness, questioning its construct validity. We hypothesized that controlling for negative-valence states, disgust will not be a predictor of immorality. Alternatively, if moral disgust is a valid construct it should be a predictor of immorality. Paper-pencil research was carried out on 84 female students of psychology. Two blocks of six statements were used. One block consisted of moral subscale items, while the other block consisted of counterpart statements (e.g. “Deceiving your friend” vs “Helping your friend“). This was made to check if moral statements indeed measure immoral acts. The order of blocks was counterbalanced. For each statement participants had to rate disgust as well as other emotional reactions (repulsion, contempt, fear, sadness, anger, happiness) and immorality from the perspective of the agent. Half of the participants rated emotional reactions first, while the other half rated immorality first. The results showed immorality was related to disgust, anger, repulsion, and fear (r(82)=.24-.27, p.05). Because of collinearity issues multiple regression estimates for immorality predictions were unreliable. We conclude that for this scale the construct of disgust could be an artefact of overlapping with other negative-valence states and not a valid predictor of immorality.

osobine ličnosti, Studentski zbor, volontiranje, zadovoljstvo volontiranjem - Abstract

Personality, volunteering, motivation - Abstract
In Croatian scientific literature volunteers` personality and their motivation for volunteering did not get much attention until recently (Juzbašić & Vukasović Hlupić, 2015 ; Pološki Vokić, Marić & Horvat, 2013 ; Zrinščak et al., 2012 ; , Mažar, 2011). Only one of the Croatian studies (Juzbašić & Vukasović Hlupić, 2015) tried to explore the relation between personality and different volunteering motives in a systematic way and together with the study of Carlo et al. (2003) seems to be one of the rare studies that put more emphasize on the interplay between volunteers` motivation and their personality. Because of the lack of research in national and global literature, we decided to check results of these studies and to explore in this context personality dimension that did not get attention before: honesty-humility. On-line study was done on 130 volunteers (M=23.91, SD=6.05) and 90 non-volunteers (M=22.21 SD=3.20). Most of the volunteers were women (N=109) coming from social work and humanitarian aid organizations. As a measure of personality, Hexaco-60 (Lee & Ashton, 2004, Babarović & Šverko, 2013) was used, while volunteering motives were assessed with the Volunteering Functions Inventory (VFI, Clary et all., 1998, , Jakšić & Penezić, 2015). Volunteers score higher on all personality dimensions, with the exception of the emotional stability trait (both for the whole sample and females) and consciousness (for females only). Most present volunteering motives are intrinsic in their nature. Personality traits tend to be useful for the prediction of motives of ”values”, ”understanding” and "enhancement", but not for the prediction of the "social" motive in this group of volunteers. Emotional stability, extraversion and openness seem to be predictive for different motives, while agreeableness and honesty-humility have more specific effects.

This paper presents preliminary results of the study aimed at assessing the psychometric properties of the Three Domains Disgust Scale (TDDS ; Tybur, Lieberman, & Griskevicius, 2009) and its validity as a measure of sensitivity to disgust in pathogen, sexual and moral domains in respondents from Croatian population. The Croatian version of the scale, adapted by Ćubela Adorić and Jakšić (2013), was first administered in a larger sample of students at the University of Zadar, Croatia. Based on the preliminary data from two hundred and twenty-nine students, the common factor analysis of the scale and the item analysis of its subscales were perfomed. The observed factor structure of the scale corresponds clearly with the expected pattern, and the three corresponding item composites possess good internal consistency. Overall, the preliminary results suggest that the disgust sensitivity in the pathogen, sexual and moral domains can be reliably differentiated and assessed among Croatian respondents using the TDDS. In addition, the intercorrelations between the subscales and their relationships with gender were assessed. The observed patterns provide further support for the notion that a general disposition to feel disgust can vary across domains and gender.

homoseksualnost ,implicitni stavovi ,eksplicitni stavovi - Abstract

Humor is one of the most common forms of communication between people and an extremely important way of expressing emotions, whether positive or negative. It is established that there are two types of humor, of which each type has two subtypes, which gives a total of four styles of humor. Those two types are adaptive and maladaptive humor. In this research, the focus is on maladaptive humor styles consisting of aggressive and selfdefeating humor styles. One of the factors that has a significant connection with humor styles is personality traits. The "Dark Triad" consists of three parts of the personality; narcissism, Machiavellianism and psychopathy, and the very name "Dark Triad" comes from the negative qualities associated with these three aspects of personality. Research that dealt with the topic of the relation between humor or humor styles and the characteristics of the "Dark Triad" showed that respondents who score higher on the psychopathy scale and on the Machiavellianism scale have a greater tendency to use maladaptive humor (aggressive and self-defeating style). The goal of this research was to determine the relation between the tendency to use black (maladaptive) humor in students and the three dimensions of the "Dark Triad" personality. The research was conducted on a sample of Croatian students, through voluntary participation in an online questionnaire. The obtained results are partially in line with previous research, that is, it was determined that an aggressive style of humor is statistically significantly related to all dimensions of the "Dark Triad", while a self-defeating style of humor is not statistically significantly related to any dimension of the Dark Triad.

The Dark Triad is a construct made of three conceptually independent, but interrelated personality traits at the subclinical level: Machiavellianism, subclinical psychopathy and subclinical narcissism. Although there has been an increase in the attention devoted to these traits in recent years, relatively little importance has been given to their relationship with depressiveness and life satisfaction. Depressiveness refers to a wide range of states and symptoms present in different numbers and with different durations, while life satisfaction refers to a cognitive determinant of subjective well-being. The correlation between these two constructs is negative to the extent that they can be considered opposite poles of the same dimension. Recent research has shown an increase in the prevalence of depressive symptoms among students. These symptoms are associated with negative outcomes that can have an adverse impact on academic, social and emotional adjustment. Considering these facts, the inconsistency of study results regarding the relationship between the Dark Triad, depressiveness and life satisfaction, as well as the importance of personality traits for understanding depression, it is crucial to examine the relationship between these constructs. Examining their relationship can also be of great importance to the development of counseling and psychosocial interventions aimed at the students’ mental health. Therefore, the goal of this study was to determine the relationship between the Dark Triad traits, depressiveness and life satisfaction in a sample of university students. The correlational study was conducted on a sample of 189 female and 53 male students (N = 242) from different universities in Croatia. A statistically significant positive correlation was found between Machiavellianism and subclinical psychopathy with depressiveness, while a negative correlation was found between Machiavellianism and subclinical psychopathy with life satisfaction. When it comes to subclinical narcissism, the results indicated the opposite pattern of a relationship with depressiveness and life satisfaction when compared to the other two Dark Triad traits. The results may have significant implications for the planning of appropriate interventions targeting university students who score high on the Dark Triad.
