Search

Electroweak interactions assign a central role to the gauge group SU(2)L×U(1)Y, which is either realized linearly (SMEFT) or nonlinearly (e.g., HEFT) in the effective theory obtained when new physics above the electroweak scale is integrated out. Although the discovery of the Higgs boson has made SMEFT the default assumption, nonlinear realization remains possible. The two can be distinguished through their predictions for the size of certain low-energy dimension-6 four-fermion operators: for these, HEFT predicts O(1) couplings, while in SMEFT they are suppressed by a factor v2/ΛNP2, where v is the Higgs vev. One such operator, OVLR≡(τ¯γμPLν)(c¯γμPRb), contributes to b→cτ−ν¯. We show that present constraints permit its non-SMEFT coefficient to have a HEFTy size. We also note that the angular distribution in B¯→D*(→Dπ′)τ−(→π−ντ)ν¯τ contains enough information to extract the coefficients of all new-physics operators. Future measurements of this angular distribution can therefore tell us if non-SMEFT new physics is really necessary.

Standard Model Neutrino Effective Field Theory (SMNEFT) is an effective theory with Standard Model (SM) gauge-invariant operators constructed only from SM and right-handed neutrino fields. For the full set of dimension-six SMNEFT operators, we present the gauge coupling terms of the one-loop anomalous dimension matrix for renormalization group evolution (RGE) of the Wilson coefficients between a new physics scale and the electroweak scale. We find that the SMNEFT operators can be divided into five subsets which are closed under RGE. Our results apply for both Dirac and Majorana neutrinos. We also discuss the operator mixing pattern numerically and comment on some interesting phenomenological implications., 20 pages, 2 figures, 2 tables. Version to appear in JHEP

We identify a single six-dimensional effective operator {$O_{\ell\ell}$} at the high scale, that can account for the Cabibbo angle anomaly by generating the desired operators at the low scale through renormalization group running, with the right magnitudes of Wilson coefficients. When generated as a result of a $Z'$ model, the non-universal leptonic couplings of this operator can also contribute to the lepton flavor universality violating $R_{K^{(*)}}$ anomaly, generating the preferred relation $C_9=-C_{10}$ between the corresponding new physics Wilson coefficients. We argue that it is essential to have non-universal couplings of such a $Z'$ to all three generations of leptons for explaining both Cabibbo angle and $R_{K^{(*)}}$ anomalies simultaneously., Comment: 5 Pages, 2 Figures, Major changes. The measurements of the ratios $R_{K^{(*)}}$ along with $R_{D^{(*)}}$ hint towards lepton flavor non universality which is in disagreement with the standard model. In this work, we reanalyze the four new physics models, which are widely studied in the literature as a candidates for the simultaneous explanations of these measurements. These are, standard model like vector boson (VB), $SU(2)_L$-singlet vector leptoquark ($U_1$), $SU(2)_L$-triplet scalar leptoquark ($S_3$) and $SU(2)_L$ triplet vector leptoquark ($U_3$) models. We assume a coupling only to the third generation in the weak basis, so that the $b \to s \mu^+ \mu^-$ transition is generated only via mixing effects. Preforming a global fit to all relevant data, we show that the vector boson model violates the current upper bound on ${Br}(\tau \to 3\mu)$ and hence is inconsistent with the present data. Further, we show that within this framework, the $U_1$ leptoquark model cannot simultaneously accommodate $R_{K^{(*)}}$ and $R_{D^{(*)}}$ measurements. We emphasize that this conclusion is independent of the additional constraints coming from renormaliztion group running effects and high-$p_T$ searches. In addition, we show that the $S_3$ and $U_3$ models are highly disfavored by the constraints coming from $b\to s \nu \bar \nu$ data. We study implications of the four-fermion semileptonic operators at the low-energy and at electroweak (EW) scale in the framework of Standard Model Effective Field Theory (SMEFT). We show how the renormalization group (RG) running effects can play an important role in probing the \emph{generic flavour structure} of such operators. It is shown that at the 1-loop level, through RG running, depending upon the flavour structure, these operators can give rise to sizable effects at low energy in the electroweak precision (EWP) observables, the leptonic, quark, as well as the $Z$ boson flavour violating decays. To this end, we isolate the phenomenological relevant terms in the full anomalous dimension matrices (ADMs) and discuss the impact of the QED+QCD running in the Weak effective field theory (WET) and the SMEFT running due to gauge and Yukawa interactions on the dim-4 and dim-6 operators at the low energy. Considering all the relevant processes, we derive lower bounds on the new physics (NP) scale $\Lambda$ for each semileptonic operator, keeping a generic flavour structure. The Standard Model Neutrino Effective Field Theory (SMNEFT) is the Standard Model Effective Field Theory (SMEFT) augmented with right-handed neutrinos. Building on our previous work, arXiv:2010.12109, we calculate the Yukawa coupling contributions to the one-loop anomalous dimension matrix for the 11 dimension-six four-fermion SMNEFT operators. We also present the new contributions to the anomalous dimension matrix for the 14 four-fermion SMEFT operators that mix with the SMNEFT operators through the Yukawa couplings of the right-handed neutrinos., Comment: 13 pages, 4 figures, 2 tables. Recently the RBC-UKQCD lattice QCD collaboration presented new results for the hadronic matrix elements relevant for the ratio ε′/ε in the Standard Model (SM) albeit with significant uncertainties. With the present knowledge of the Wilson coefficients and isospin breaking effects there is still a sizable room left for new physics (NP) contributions to ε′/ε which could both enhance or suppress this ratio to agree with the data. The new SM value for the K0 − $$ {\overline{K}}^0 $$ K ¯ 0 mass difference ∆MK from RBC-UKQCD is on the other hand by 2σ above the data hinting for NP required to suppress ∆MK. Simultaneously the most recent results for K+ → $$ {\pi}^{+}\nu \overline{\nu} $$ π + ν ν ¯ from NA62 and for KL → $$ {\pi}^0\nu \overline{\nu} $$ π 0 ν ν ¯ from KOTO still allow for significant NP contributions. We point out that the suppression of ∆MK by NP requires the presence of new CP-violating phases with interesting implications for K → $$ \pi \nu \overline{\nu} $$ πν ν ¯ , KS → μ+μ− and KL → π0ℓ+ℓ− decays. Considering a Z′-scenario within the SMEFT we analyze the dependence of all these observables on the size of NP still allowed by the data on ε′/ε. The hinted ∆MK anomaly together with the εK constraint implies in the presence of only left-handed (LH) or right-handed (RH) flavour-violating Z′ couplings strict correlation between K+ → $$ {\pi}^{+}\nu \overline{\nu} $$ π + ν ν ¯ and KL → $$ {\pi}^0\nu \overline{\nu} $$ π 0 ν ν ¯ branching ratios so that they are either simultaneously enhanced or suppressed relative to SM predictions. An anticorrelation can only be obtained in the presence of both LH and RH couplings. Interestingly, the NP QCD penguin scenario for ε′/ε is excluded by SMEFT renormalization group effects in εK so that NP effects in ε′/ε are governed by electroweak penguins. We also investigate for the first time whether the presence of a heavy Z′ with flavour violating couplings could generate through top Yukawa renormalization group effects FCNCs mediated by the SM Z-boson. The outcome turns out to be very interesting.

Some models of leptogenesis involve a quasi-degenerate pair of heavy neutrinos $N_{1,2}$ whose masses can be small, $O({\rm GeV})$. Such neutrinos can contribute to the rare lepton-number-violating (LNV) decay $W^\pm \to \ell_1^\pm \ell_2^\pm (q'{\bar q})^\mp$. If both $N_1$ and $N_2$ contribute, there can be a CP-violating rate difference between the LNV decay of a $W^-$ and its CP-conjugate decay. In this paper, we examine the prospects for measuring such a CP asymmetry $A_{\rm CP}$ at the LHC. We assume a value for the heavy-light neutrino mixing parameter $|B_{\ell N}|^2 = 10^{-5}$, which is allowed by the present experimental constraints, and consider $5~{\rm GeV} \le M_N \le 80~{\rm GeV}$. We consider three versions of the LHC -- HL-LHC, HE-LHC, FCC-hh -- and show that small values of the CP asymmetry can be measured at $3\sigma$, in the range $1\% \lesssim A_{\rm CP} \lesssim 15\%$., Comment: 19 pages, 2 figures, (i) we have made the motivation more generic, so that it refers to any leptogenesis model that contains a quasi-Dirac pair of almost-degenerate neutrinos, not just the nuMSM,(ii) we focus only on the l^- l^- (q' qbar)^+ final state, since it is purely LNV (the trilepton final state has both LNV and LNC contributions). If the neutrino is a Majorana particle, low-energy lepton-number-violating (LNV) processes, such as neutrinoless double-beta ($0\nu\beta\beta$) decay, are possible. It may also be possible to observe high-energy $0\nu\beta\beta$-like LNV processes at the LHC. These are distinguished by the presence of same-sign dileptons in the final state (e.g., ${\bar u} d \to t {\bar b} \, e^- \mu^-$). In this paper, we show that CP-violating triple products (TPs) may be present in the process, and may be measurable at the LHC. If a nonzero TP were observed, it would give us much information about the underlying new physics (NP). We would know that there are (at least) two interfering NP amplitudes, with different weak phases and different Lorentz structures. And if we had some knowledge of the NP, e.g., by direct production of NP particles, we could get information about the magnitudes and relative phases of its couplings., Comment: 8 pages, 1 figure. At present, there are outstanding discrepancies between standard model predictions and measurements of the muon's $g\ensuremath{-}2$ and several $B$-meson properties. We resolve these anomalies by considering a two-Higgs-doublet model extended to include leptoquarks and a dark Higgs boson $S$. The leptoquarks modify $B$-meson decays and also induce an $S\ensuremath{\gamma}\ensuremath{\gamma}$ coupling, which contributes to the muon's $g\ensuremath{-}2$ through a Barr-Zee diagram. We show that, for TeV-scale leptoquarks and dark Higgs boson masses ${m}_{S}\ensuremath{\sim}10--200\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{MeV}$, a consistent resolution to all of the anomalies exists. The model predicts interesting new decays, such as $B\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}^{(*)}{e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$, $B\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}^{(*)}\ensuremath{\gamma}\ensuremath{\gamma}$, $K\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\pi}\ensuremath{\gamma}\ensuremath{\gamma}$, and $h\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\gamma}\ensuremath{\gamma}\ensuremath{\gamma}\ensuremath{\gamma}$, with branching fractions not far below current bounds.

The tension among measurements of $V_{us}$ from different channels, the so-called Cabibbo Angle Anomaly, can be interpreted as a signal of lepton flavor universality (LFU) violation in the $W$ boson couplings. We investigate this issue in the framework of effective field theory, keeping the gauge structure of the Standard Model (SM) unchanged. We introduce gauge-invariant dimension-6 effective operators that couple the Higgs doublet to leptons, thereby giving non-universal tree-level contributions to the couplings of electroweak gauge bosons. Due to the $SU(2)_L$ gauge symmetry, a tension arises between the $V_{us}$ measurements that are affected by new $W$ couplings, and the electroweak precision measurements, which are also affected by the new $Z$ couplings. We show that this tension can be alleviated by allowing additional sources of gauge-invariant couplings of $Z$ boson to left- or right-handed leptons, and find the optimal regions indicated by the current data in the Wilson-coefficient space. We illustrate our model-independent results with the examples of minimal extensions of the SM involving the vector-like lepton (VLL) models. We point out that dimension-6 operators coupling the Higgs doublet to leptons can affect the rate of $h \to \tau \tau$ decay significantly in general, however this effect is restricted to less than a per cent level for the minimal VLL models., Comment: 26 pages, 6 figures; Figures/Results for non-minimal EFT scenarios updated

At present, the measurements of some observables in $B \to K^* \mu^+\mu^-$ and $B_s^0 \to \phi \mu^+ \mu^-$ decays, and of $R_{K^{(*)}} \equiv {\cal B}(B \to K^{(*)} \mu^+ \mu^-)/{\cal B}(B \to K^{(*)} e^+ e^-)$, are in disagreement with the predictions of the standard model. While most of these discrepancies can be removed with the addition of new physics (NP) in $b \to s \mu^+ \mu^-$, a difference of $>\sim 1.7 \sigma$ still remains in the measurement of $R_{K^*}$ at small values of $q^2$, the dilepton invariant mass-squared. In the context of a global fit, this is not a problem. However, it does raise the question: if the true value of $R_{K^*}^{low}$ is near its measured value, what is required to explain it? In this paper, we show that, if one includes NP in $b \to s e^+ e^-$, one can generate values for $R_{K^*}^{low}$ that are within $\sim 1\sigma$ of its measured value. Using a model-independent, effective-field-theory approach, we construct many different possible NP scenarios. We also examine specific models containing leptoquarks or a $Z'$ gauge boson. Here, additional constraints from lepton-flavour-violating observables, $B_s^0$-${\bar B}_s^0$ mixing and neutrino trident production must be taken into account, but we still find a number of viable NP scenarios. For the various scenarios, we examine the predictions for $R_{K^{(*)}}$ in other $q^2$ bins, as well as for the observable $Q_5 \equiv P^{\prime\mu\mu}_5 -P^{\prime ee}_5$.

There are four models of tree-level new physics (NP) that can potentially simultaneously explain the $b\ensuremath{\rightarrow}s{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ and $b\ensuremath{\rightarrow}c{\ensuremath{\tau}}^{\ensuremath{-}}\overline{\ensuremath{\nu}}$ anomalies. They are the ${S}_{3}$, ${U}_{3}$ and ${U}_{1}$ leptoquarks (LQs), and a triplet of standard-model-like vector bosons ($VB$'s). Under the theoretical assumption that the NP couples predominantly to the third generation, previous analyses found that, when constraints from other processes are taken into account, the ${S}_{3}$, ${U}_{3}$ and $VB$ models cannot explain the $B$ anomalies, but ${U}_{1}$ is viable. In this paper, we reanalyze these models, but without any assumption about their couplings. We find that, even in this most general case, ${S}_{3}$ and ${U}_{3}$ are excluded. For the ${U}_{1}$ model, constraints from the semileptonic lepton-flavor-violating (LFV) processes $B\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}^{(*)}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}}{\ensuremath{\tau}}^{\ensuremath{\mp}}$, $\ensuremath{\tau}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\mu}\ensuremath{\phi}$ and $\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Upsilon}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\mu}\ensuremath{\tau}$, which have been largely ignored previously, are found to be very important. Because of the LFV constraints, the pattern of couplings of the ${U}_{1}$ LQ is similar to that obtained with the above theoretical assumption. Also, the LFV constraints render unimportant those constraints obtained using the renormalization group equations. As for the $VB$ model, it is excluded if the above theoretical assumption is made due to the additional constraints from ${B}_{s}^{0}\text{\ensuremath{-}}{\overline{B}}_{s}^{0}$ mixing, $\ensuremath{\tau}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}3\ensuremath{\mu}$ and $\ensuremath{\tau}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\mu}\ensuremath{\nu}\overline{\ensuremath{\nu}}$. By contrast, we find a different set of NP couplings that both explains the $b\ensuremath{\rightarrow}s{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ anomaly and is compatible with all constraints. However, it does not reproduce the measured values of the $b\ensuremath{\rightarrow}c{\ensuremath{\tau}}^{\ensuremath{-}}\overline{\ensuremath{\nu}}$ anomalies---it would be viable only if future measurements find that the central values of these anomalies are reduced. Even so, this $VB$ model is excluded by the LHC bounds on high-mass resonant dimuon pairs. This conclusion is reached without any assumptions about the NP couplings.

We explore the possibility of simultaneous explanation of \(R_{K^{(*)}}\) and \(R_{D^{(*)}}\) measurements in a model dependent approach. We reanalysed the four new physics models: Standard model like vector boson (VB), \(SU(2)_L\)-singlet vector leptoquark (\(U_1\)), \(SU(2)_L\)-triplet scalar leptoquark (\(S_3\)) and \(SU(2)_L\) triplet vector leptoquark (\(U_3\)) models. The new physics couplings are assumed only to the third generation in the weak basis. We found that vector boson model is not consistent with the present data as the branching ratio of \(\mathscr {B}(\tau \rightarrow 3\mu )\) evades the upper bound on the best fit point. The three leptoquark models cannot simultaneously accomodate the \(R_{K^{(*)}}\) and \(R_{D^{(*)}}\) measurements.

The measurements of ${R}_{K}$ and ${R}_{{K}^{*}}$ provide hints for the violation of lepton universality. However, it is generally difficult to explain the ${R}_{{K}^{*}}$ measurement in the low ${q}^{2}$ range, $0.045\ensuremath{\le}{q}^{2}\ensuremath{\le}1.1\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{GeV}}^{2}$. Light mediators offer a solution by making the Wilson coefficients ${q}^{2}$ dependent. We check if new lepton nonuniversal interactions mediated by a scalar ($S$) or vector particle (${Z}^{\ensuremath{'}}$) of mass between 10--200 MeV can reproduce the data. We find that a 25 MeV ${Z}^{\ensuremath{'}}$ with a ${q}^{2}$-dependent $b\ensuremath{-}s$ coupling and that couples to the electron but not the muon can explain all three anomalies in conjunction with other measurements. A similar 25 MeV $S$ provides a good fit to all relevant data except ${R}_{{K}^{*}}$ in the low ${q}^{2}$ bin. A 25 MeV ${Z}^{\ensuremath{'}}$ with a ${q}^{2}$-dependent $b\ensuremath{-}s$ coupling and that couples to the muon but not the electron provides a good fit to the combination of the ${R}_{K}$ and ${R}_{{K}^{*}}$ data, but does not fit ${R}_{{K}^{*}}$ in the low ${q}^{2}$ bin well.

We define a data exchange format for numerical values of Wilson coefficients of local operators parameterising low-energy effects of physics beyond the Standard Model. The format facilitates interfacing model-specific Wilson coefficient calculators, renormalisation group (RG) runners, and observable calculators. It is designed to be unambiguous (defining a non-redundant set of operators with fixed normalisation in each basis), extensible (allowing the addition of new EFTs or bases by the user), and robust (being based on industry standard file formats with parsers implemented in many programming languages). We have implemented the format for the Standard Model EFT (SMEFT) and for the weak effective theory (WET) below the electroweak scale and have added interfaces to a number of public codes dealing with SMEFT or WET. We also provide command-line utilities and a Python module for convenient manipulation of WCxf files, including translation between different bases and matching from SMEFT to WET., Comment: 22 pages. Recent measurements of $R_{D^*}$ have reduced tension with the Standard Model prediction. Taking all the present data into account, we obtain the values of the Wilson coefficients of each new physics four-fermion operator of a given Lorentz structure. We find that the combined data rule out most of the solutions based on scalar/pseudoscalar operators. By studying the inter-relations between different solutions, we find that there are only four allowed solutions, which are based on operators with $(V-A)$, linear combination of $(V-A)$ and $(V+A)$, tensor and linear combination of scalar/pseudoscalar and tensor structure. We demonstrate that the need for new physics is driven by those measurement of $R_D$ and $R_{D^*}$ where the $\tau$ lepton is not studied. Further, we show that new physics only in $b\rightarrow c\,\mu\,\bar{\nu}$ is not compatible with the full set of observables in the decays $B\rightarrow Dl\bar{\nu}$ and $B\rightarrow D^*l\bar{\nu}$., Comment: 16 pages, 1 figure (Accepted for publication in JHEP)

In the next-to-minimal supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM), a pure singlet-like light pseudoscalar ( $$A_1$$ ) can dominantly decay to diphoton mode. In the chargino–neutralino associated production, followed by decays of heavier neutralinos to the lighter ones along with $$A_1$$ leads to a final-state . In this talk, the enhancement mechanism of diphoton mode of $$A_1$$ and its detection possibility in the final-state ( ) at the LHC run-2 are briefly summarized.

At present, there are several measurements of $B$ decays that exhibit discrepancies with the predictions of the SM, and suggest the presence of new physics (NP) in $b\ensuremath{\rightarrow}s{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ transitions. Many NP models have been proposed as explanations. These involve the tree-level exchange of a leptoquark (LQ) or a flavor-changing ${Z}^{\ensuremath{'}}$ boson. In this paper we examine whether it is possible to distinguish the various models via $CP$-violating effects in $B\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}^{(*)}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$. Using fits to the data, we find the following results. Of all possible LQ models, only three can explain the data, and these are all equivalent as far as $b\ensuremath{\rightarrow}s{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ processes are concerned. In this single LQ model, the weak phase of the coupling can be large, leading to some sizable $CP$ asymmetries in $B\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}^{(*)}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$. There is a spectrum of ${Z}^{\ensuremath{'}}$ models; the key parameter is ${g}_{L}^{\ensuremath{\mu}\ensuremath{\mu}}$, which describes the strength of the ${Z}^{\ensuremath{'}}$ coupling to ${\ensuremath{\mu}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$. If ${g}_{L}^{\ensuremath{\mu}\ensuremath{\mu}}$ is small (large), the constraints from ${B}_{s}^{0}\ensuremath{-}{\overline{B}}_{s}^{0}$ mixing are stringent (weak), leading to a small (large) value of the NP weak phase, and corresponding small (large) $CP$ asymmetries. We therefore find that the measurement of $CP$-violating asymmetries in $B\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}^{(*)}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ can indeed distinguish among NP $b\ensuremath{\rightarrow}s{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ models.

We study deviations between MSSM and NMSSM in the predictions of $\Delta F=2$ processes. We found that there can be two sources which can cause such deviations, \emph{i.e}, due to certain neutralino-gluino cross box diagrams and due to well known double penguin diagrams. Both are effective at large $\tan \beta$. In addition to this, taking into account 8 TeV direct search constraints from the heavy Higgs searches, we study the maximum allowed MFV like new physics (NP) effects on $\Delta M_s$ in the two models. In the framework of non minimal supersymmetric model, assuming one of the CP even Higgs as the discovered SM like Higgs bosons, we revisit the phenomenology of Higgs sector. Due to the presence of singlet-doublet mixing, the couplings of Higgs bosons can be reduced and lead to very light Higgs bosons that are allowed by LEP, Tevatron and even the LHC 8 TeV runs. We present the mass spectrum of non SM like Higgs bosons and couplings with fermions and gauge bosons checking the consistency with all experimental data. We also studied the branching ratios (BR) of these non SM like Higgs bosons in various channel. It is found that the BR of non-SM Higgs boson in the two photon channel is very large (even up to 90 %) and provides a rich phenomenology in LHC.

The next-to-minimal supersymmetric standard model (NMSSM) with an extended Higgs sector offers one of the Higgs boson as the Standard model (SM) like Higgs with a mass around 125 GeV along with other Higgs bosons with lighter and heavier masses and not excluded by any current experiments. At the LHC, phenomenology of these non SM like Higgs bosons is very rich and considerably different from the other supersymmetric models. In this work, assuming one of the Higgs bosons to be the SM like, we revisit the mass spectrum and couplings of non SM like Higgs bosons taking into consideration all existing constraints and identify the relevant region of parameter space. The discovery potential of these non SM like Higgs bosons, apart from their masses, is guided by their couplings with gauge bosons and fermions which are very much parameter space sensitive. We evaluate the rates of productions of these non SM like Higgs bosons at the LHC for a variety of decay channels in the allowed region of the parameter space. Although bb, {\tau}{\tau} decay modes appear to be the most promising, it is observed that for a substantial region of parameter space the two-photon decay mode has a remarkably large rate. In this work we emphasize that this diphoton mode can be exploited to find the NMSSM Higgs signal and can also be potential avenue to distinguish the NMSSM from the MSSM. There are four models of tree-level new physics (NP) that can potentially explain the $b\to s \mu^+ \mu^-$ and $b \to c\ell \bar \nu$ anomalies simultaneously. They are the S3, U3, and U1 leptoquarks and a standard-model-like triplet vector boson (VB). In this talk, I describe an analysis of these models with general couplings. We find that even in this most general case S3 and U3 are excluded. For the U1 model, I discuss the importance of the constraints from lepton-flavor-violating(LFV) processes. As for the VB model, it is shown to be excluded by the additional tree level constraints and LHC bounds on high-mass resonant dimuon pairs. We study deviations between MSSM and $Z_3$-invariant NMSSM, with respect to their predictions in $\Delta F=2 $ processes. We find that potentially significant effects arise either from the well known double-penguin diagrams, due to the extra scalar NMSSM states, or from neutralino-gluino box contributions, due to the extended neutralino sector. Both are discussed to be effective in the large $\tan\beta$ regime. Enhanced genuine-NMSSM contributions in double penguins are expected for a light singlet spectrum (CP-even,CP-odd), while the magnitude of box effects is primarily controlled through singlino mixing. The latter is found to be typically subleading (but non-negligible) for $\lambda \lesssim 0.5$, however it can become dominant for $\lambda\sim \mathcal{O}(1)$. We also study the low $\tan\beta$ regime, where a distinction between MSSM and NMSSM can come instead due to experimental constraints, acting differently on the allowed parameter space of each model. To this end, we incorporate the LHC Run-I limits from $H\rightarrow Z Z$, $A \rightarrow hZ$ and $H^\pm \rightarrow \tau \nu $ non-observation along with Higgs observables and set (different) upper bounds for new physics contributions in $\Delta F=2 $ processes. We find that a $\sim 25\%$ contribution in $\Delta M_{s(d)}$ is still possible for MFV models, however such a large effect is nowadays severely constrained for the case of MSSM, due to stronger bounds on the charged Higgs masses., Comment: 30 pp. text, 13 pp. appendix.
