This paper presents the web-oriented software solution focused on supporting the efficient management of operations and projects in SMEs. The development of this software is treated as a separate project and has used agile software development methodologies and specific principles and project management solutions to deliver product in the desired time and in accordance with the requirements of the client.

The paper presents the potentials for the development of software using agile methodologies. Special consideration is devoted to the potentials and advantages of use of the Scrum methodology in the development of software and the relationship between the implementation of agile methodologies and the software development projects.

Introduction/purpose: The goal of the research in this paper is to present and evaluate the method of modeling operations by aggregating forces by simulating the battle process with Lanchester's equations. This method is the software basis of a certain number of programs used in NATO, in war simulations, and in the planning and analysis of operations. Its value is in understanding the consequences of decisions made with outcomes and results of combat actions. Methods: The case study of the well-known Operation Desert Storm gathered the necessary data on operational parameters and the way forces are used in battles. The obtained data were transformed into operational variables of the combat model using the force aggregation method, whose simulation was carried out using the method of differential Lanchester's equations (quadratic law). Results: By simulating the modeled operation, the parameters of the outcome of the conflict were obtained with numerical indicators of success, consumption of resources, etc. The results were analyzed and a certain correlation with the parameters of the real operation was determined, which enables the validation of the model. Conclusion: The partial validity of the model describing the conflict on a practical historical example from a case study was confirmed. There are objective limitations in the application of modeling of military operations and optimization of the use of forces. The value of this method is the possibility of a reliable strategic assessment of the adversary's military power at the strategic level. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The international ISO 9001:2015 standard for quality management system (QMS) is widely implemented in this country, especially in business organisations and in public administration. The Standard was created in 1987; it was revised and amended in 1994, 2000 and 2008, the latest amendments being of the largest scope. Compared to the previous ISO 9001:2008 standard, this standard does not require a complicated manual to be devised: instead of six, it needs no documented procedures now and only 18 prescribed reports are required in comparison with 21 in the previous version. The organisations that have already certified their standards to comply to the earlier ISO 2001:2008 standard have to adopt the new standard now, and no later than 2018. One of the greatest problems in this transition is designing the required databases necessary for the practical implementation of the new standard. The solution proposed by the authors is a general model with six priority databases: Documented information database; Measuring, control and testing equipment database; Qualified personnel database; Complaints on process output nonconformity database; Costs of process output nonconformity database and Plant and work equipment maintenance database. This paper analyses the applicability of well-known risk management methodologies in energy efficiency projects in the industry. The possibilities of application of the selected risk management methodology are demonstrated within the project of the plants for injecting pulverized coal into blast furnaces no. one and two, implemented by the company US Steel Serbia d.o.o. in Smederevo. The aim of the project was to increase energy efficiency through the reduction of the quantity of coke, whose production requires large amounts of energy, reduction of harmful exhaust emission, and increase productivity of blast furnaces through the reduction of production costs. The project was complex and had high costs, so that it was necessary to predict risk events and plan responses to identified risks at an early stage of implementation, in the course of the project design, in order to minimise losses and implement the project in accordance with the defined time and cost limitations.
