1. Characteristics of three-dimensional electrical data of ultra-wide working face and its application

Abstract

The construction of ultra-wide working face is helpful to promote the safe and efficient mining of coal resources. However, due to the limitation of roadway space and construction conditions, the detection depth of conventional mine geophysics is limited, and the geological information inside the ultra-wide working face and within a certain range of roof and floor cannot be accurately obtained. In order to improve the detection accuracy of the water rich area on the bottom plate of the ultrawide working face and provide a basis for the processing and interpretation of measured data, based on the summary and analysis of current mine geophysical detection technology, the three-dimensional(3D) DC resistivity method that can be applied to the detection of the ultrawide working face, combined with the occurrence characteristics of limestone water on the bottom plate of the working face 21106 in a coal mine in Yongcheng, Henan, was systematically studied using a combination of theoretical analysis, numerical simulation, and measured data to study the data characteristics and resolution ability of 3D observation and 2D observation modes. The research results show that: Compared with the traditional two-dimensional observation mode of the same side transmitter-receiver, the three-dimensional observation mode of the opposite side transmitter-receiver is more sensitive to the low resistance body on the floor of the mining face. The data obtained by the three-dimensional observation mode of the opposite side transmitter-receiver are calculated by the conventional apparent resistivity formula, the obtained apparent resistivity is sometimes opposite to the actual electrical property, so it is necessary to use the three-dimensional inversion method for data processing. Finally, the 3D model data observed during the 21106 work in a coal mine in Yongcheng, Henan Province was subjected to 3D inversion processing, and the reliability of the 3D inversion results was verified through underground drilling data. The research results provide a theoretical basis for the two-dimensional observation and three-dimensional observation data interpretation of the pole-pole device conditions.

Abstract

Coal-bearing strata belong to sedimentary strata, and there are multiple aquifers. The accurate detection of deep aquifers is helpful to the safe mining of the working face. In order to provide guidance for the interpretation of the surface-to-underground transient electromagnetic method (SUTEM) that can be used to detect deep aquifers, we used theoretical analysis and numerical simulation methods in this study. Taking uniform half-spaces, single aquifers, and double aquifers as examples, we systematically studied the data characteristics and degree of influence of SUTEM under the influence of shallow aquifers. The results indicate the following: Under the influence of the primary field distribution, the x or y component of the induced electromotive force received by the underground receiving point has a positive and negative inflection point, which increases the difficulty of data interpretation, and the z component is easier to use for data interpretation. The influence of the aquifer on the early data of the underground receiving point is much greater than that of the ground receiving point, and the late influence is closer to the ground receiving point. The change in resistivity of the shallow aquifer has the greatest influence on the ability of each measuring point to detect the data of the deep aquifer; this influence is followed by change in thickness, and change in depth has the least influence on the detection capability of each measuring point. 8. Innovative Cross-Hole Grounded-Wire Source Transient Electromagnetic Method for Sensing Geological Disasters in Urban Underground Spaces

Abstract

In the process of tunnel construction and urban underground space development, karst caves and cavities often cause casualties and economic losses. However, due to the influence of complex terrain and buildings on the ground, conventional geophysical detection methods cannot obtain accurate information on hidden geological bodies under buildings and in front of tunnels. The grounded-wire source transient electromagnetic method (TEM) has a relatively simple transmission and reception system and is widely used in the detection of coal mine goafs and karst caves. Therefore, we apply this method to boreholes and propose a cross-hole grounded-wire source TEM detection method. This method involves deploying grounded-wire transmitting sources and receiving electrodes in different boreholes to accurately detect concealed geological hazards in urban underground construction processes. In this study, we use the research methods of the TEM field diffusion mechanism of a vertical grounded-wire source, a numerical simulation of a cross-hole and grounded-wire source TEM of different electrical models, and an indoor physical experiment in a strong interference environment to analyze the detection ability of a cross-hole grounded-wire source TEM. Differential processing was applied to both the numerical simulation and experimental data. The research results indicated that owing to the influence of the ground-air boundary, extreme values of the z component of the electric field moved toward deeper regions away from the grounded-wire source. Differential processing effectively increased the detection accuracy of this method, and a higher differential order provided a clearer characterization of the boundaries of the target body. Spatial averaging filtering can effectively remove the influence of random noise, enhancing the ability of the cross-hole grounded-wire source TEM to identify anomalous bodies. After difference processing, the cross-hole grounded-wire source TEM data could more precisely capture the boundaries of concealed geological bodies in urban underground spaces.

Abstract

The ground-tunnel transient electromagnetic method (TEM) is a geophysical prospecting method in which electromagnetic waves are emitted into the ground and measurements are taken in an underground tunnel. Based on the monotonic relationship between vertical magnetic induction intensity and apparent resistivity, this paper puts forward an idea for finding a unique solution and/or multiple solutions of the full-domain apparent resistivity of ground-tunnel TEM according to the inverse function theorem. It mainly involves calculating and analyzing the response characteristics of the full-domain apparent resistivity curves of four different geoelectric models H, K, A, and Q in different positions to changes in such parameters as formation resistivity. The results show that full-domain apparent resistivity calculated using vertical magnetic induction intensity can accurately reflect the electrical distribution laws of different geoelectric models. When the formation parameters and receiving point positions change, the full-domain apparent resistivity curve shape changes accordingly. The change is specifically expressed in the time order and amplitude, and can accurately reflect formation information. Finally, combined with the characteristics of ground-tunnel TEM, full-domain apparent resistivity with different offsets is calculated. The results show that full-domain apparent resistivity curves with different offsets are consistent, with little differentiation. The analysis of the full-domain apparent resistivity of ground-tunnel TEM can lay a theoretical foundation for the interpretation of this method.

Abstract

An experiment on static voltage stability analysis based on Matpower is designed in order to promote the assistance of science research and teaching. Based on the author' s research of recent years, this experiment focuses on the impact and effect of power network topology on static voltage stability. It is an extension and expansion of the corresponding theoretical knowledge. This experiment is from easiness to difficulties, hence it can effectively guide the students or postgraduates to experience the learning method of exploring, analyze and summarize the process of scientific research. Thus, the experiment is helpful for the student to foster their researching interests. A simulation example of a small-scale power system is constructed with complete parameters which can be repeated. It is beneficial for students to further analysis and explore the experimental phenomena, data and the nature of voltage instability. Abstract

A PCS (Power Conditioning System) for AMTEC (Alkali Metal Thermo-Electric Converter), which is composed of DC/DC converter and DC/AC converter adapting to volt-ampere characteristic of AMTEC, is researched and designed. Two parts of the PCS are separated by a high frequency transformer, so the disadvantage of low frequency one is eliminated. Using phase-shift ZVS (Zero Voltage Switching) full bridge and voltage closed loop control, DC/DC converter converts output voltage of AMTEC which fluctuates in a wide range to a steady voltage. DC/AC converter is controlled by optimal SHEPWM (Selective Harmonic Elimination PWM) technique, which makes THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) of the inverter being filtered as objective function and uses penalty function algorithm for optimized calculation, so the optimal switching angle of the inverter can be obtained. The experimental result shows that the PCS has the advantages of wide voltage input, high converting efficiency and low THD in output voltage. The PCS proposed in this paper will be useful for the development of AMTEC with high power and high efficiency.

Abstract

Abstract: In order to investigate FeSO4, ZnSO4 (the two of main metal compositions of Shanghai PM2.5 (particle matter with those aerodynamical diameter <2.5μm)) effects on acute lung injury, six solutions contained PM2.5 aerosol particles, FeSO4, ZnSO4 and their mixtures were instilled intratracheally into mouse lungs for experiment. By 2 days after instillation, the live mice were checked in vivo by synchrotron refractive index microradiography. In addition after extracted and examined by dissection, the right lobes of lung were fixed by formalin, then imaged by synchrotron microradiography again. Corresponding parts of those lung tissues were embedded in paraffin for histopathologic study. The synchrotron X-ray microradiographs of live mouse lung showed different lung texture changes after instilled with different toxic solutions. Hemorrhage points in lung were observed more from those mice instilled by FeSO4 contained toxin solutions groups. Bronchial epithelial hyperplasia can be observed in ZnSO4 contained solution-instilled groups from histopathologic analysis. It was found that the acute lung injury of mice caused by solution of PM2.5 +FeSO4 +ZnSO4 was more serious than other toxin solutions. Results suggested that FeSO4 mainly induced hemorrhage and ZnSO4 mainly induced inflammation and bronchiolar epithelial hyperplasia in the early toxicological effects of PM2.5. Abstract

Objective: To study the differences of signaling pathway of lung injury between C57BL/6 and C3H/He mice exposed to fine particle., Methods: By intratracheally instillation, two strains of mice (C57BL/6 mice and C3 H/He) were exposed to fine particle once time per day, for continuously two days. Twenty-four hours after last time exposure, the mice were killed and the lungs were taken out immediately, and put into the liquid nitrogen. By using Affymetrix430 2.0 genechip, differences of the signaling pathways between C57BL/6 and C3H/He mice were found., Results: It was indicated that the ratios of (C57BL/6)/(C3H/He) of Igh-6, Mmp2, Timp1, Col1a1, Col1a2, C4 and Hc expression in unexposed mice,and in exposed mice were 0.00, -2.40, 0.00, -4.42, -4.92, 6.65 and -1.93, and -2.83, 2.15, -2.18, 2.40, 2.86, 4.23 and 2.18, respectively. And by further analysis, three different signaling pathways were discovered between C57BL/6 and C3H/He mice, including inflammatory response pathway, matrix metalloproteinases pathway and classical complement activation., Conclusion: The results showed that three signaling pathways were associated with inflammation. It was suggest that the lung inflammation in C57BL/6 mice could be more severe than that in C3H/He mice. The possible causation may be the different genetic background between C57BL/6 and C3H/He mice.

Abstract

Objective: In order to study the acute toxicity of PM2.5 and to explore the role of immunoreaction and oxidative stress in mouse pulmonary acute injury induced by PM2.5., Methods: Kunming mice were randomly divided into five groups including blank control group, saline control group, three level PM2.5 (low, middle and high) groups. Three level PM2.5 groups were inoculated with suspensions of PM2.5 via trachea for 24 hours and saline control group were inoculated saline, Pulmonary pathological injury and bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) of all mice were later examined, including the level of LDH, AKP, ACP, ALB, NO, NOS, MDA, SOD, activities of TNF-alpha, IL-1 and phagocytosis of Alveolar macrophages (AM)., Results: The amount of LDH, AKP, ACP, ALB, NO, NOS, MDA and activities of TNF-alpha, IL-1 in exposed groups were significantly higher than those in control(P < 0.05), and at the same time the amount of SOD and phagocytosis of AM decreased significantly (P < 0.05). Dose-response relationships were observed in all indexes., Conclusion: Air-borne PM2.5 could have acute toxic effects on mouse pulmonary cells and membrane tissues via immunotoxicity and oxidative stress injury.
